Author's Note:
Sorry I took so long to get this out, but hopefully this extra long chapter makes up for that. Also Cartoon Network's not responding to any of my letters so as of right now I still don't own Regular Show or its characters. Enjoy reading my thing.

If Rigby thought he would find solace while he slept he was sorely mistaken, as soon as he fell asleep he was thrown into a horrible dream. He found himself on a stage at an all too familiar venue, he tried to look forward but the bright stage lights beamed into his eyes blinding him. He held his hand up to shield himself from the light, as he did the crowd became clearer. The floor was filled with people of all kinds, but they all shared one disturbing feature. Their eyes were completely blacked out and dull. Rigby questioned if they even had eyes at all, or if they were glaring at him with empty sockets. A black substance was dripping from their eyes as they stared up towards the stage with frightening grins. Rigby quickly dropped his hand and stumbled back in shock, "What the hell" he thought to himself. As he tried to wrap his head around everything that was occurring the spot lights suddenly shifted away from him moved the left side of the stage.

Rigby looked over to see what the lights were focusing on now. It was Eileen and… him, another him. They were in each other's embrace sharing a kiss, then the other Rigby slowly cocked his head towards him. He had the same hollow oozing eyes as the others along with a wide sinister smirk from ear to ear. He then shoved Eileen away from him and towards the edge of the stage. When she reached the edge she struggled to keep her balance. Rigby ran to her aid as she reached her hand out towards him. He tried to grab her outstretched arm, but by the time he got to her she already fell beyond his reach. She plunged to the ground, and when she hit the floor she continued to fall through it. The tiles broke away to reveal a bottomless abyss. Rigby watched in horror as she fell deeper and deeper into darkness.

He leapt in after her but then suddenly the tiles rose up and rearranged themselves causing Rigby to slam into the now solid surface. He sluggishly lifted himself up to his knees and he stared at the floor dazed. "No" he muttered to himself in disbelief. He started to claw to the ground, trying to pry to tiles up to see if he can reveal the dark pit again. "No no noooo" he shouted as he continued to scratch at the floor, most of his nails were either broken or ripped off completely by the time he gave up. He stared down at the floor, his blood smeared on the tiles.

He slowly brought his head up and looked around. All the people where gazing down at him with their empty eyes, pointing and cackling devilishly, he turned his head back to the stage and saw his evil self laughing madly at what he'd done. Rigby looked back down at the blood covered floor and let out a devastated yell.

Rigby sat up as he awoke from his nightmare, he was breathing heavily and the back of his neck was ice cold and covered in sweat. His heart was pumping at a vigorous pace, he took several deep breaths to calm himself down. He climbed out of bed and quickly walked into the bathroom. He walked up to the sink, he turned on the water and cupped his hands underneath it, then he leaned over the sink and splashed the water on his face. He didn't know how this was supposed to help him, he just remembered people doing it in movies when they needed to calm their nerves. Rigby thought back to the dream he had and shuddered as he pictured it in his head before splashing more water onto himself. He wiped the excess water from his eyes and looked at his reflection in the mirror. "What the hell was that about" he said, "I mean, that was some freaky shit. I've had some bad nightmares before, but this tops all of them".

Rigby turned the bathroom light off and walked back into his room, he made his way to his trampoline and threw himself onto it. While he laid there he leaned over and grabbed his box of throat lozenges. "I don't know why it bothered me so much" he thought as he popped one of the lozenges in his mouth, "The people's faces were pretty messed up, but I also never had a dream where I lost a close friend or anything like that… except that one where I shot Mordecai but I don't know if he died, plus he kinda had it coming in that dream".

He tossed and turned, trying to get comfortable. Despite his best efforts he knew he wasn't going to fall back to sleep, not after that dream. He was wide awake so he climbed out of bed again and walked downstairs to the living room. He flopped down on the couch and turned on the TV. He flipped through the channels as the as the screen emitted a dim light into the otherwise dark room. Rigby continued to surf the channels but most of them were either paid programs for useless junk or repeats of the same boring shows on earlier. He grew aggravated by the lack of programing but he kept jumping from channel to channel none the less. Eventually he found something the peaked him interest, it was one of those sciency shows where they take crazy scenarios fans suggested and do test to see how it would work out in reality. The educational part wasn't necessarily up Rigby's ally, but they were blowing stuff up so they had his undivided attention, "Hey, this ain't too bad." He thought to himself as he relaxed on the couch, "It's actually pretty bad ass".

As the show progressed it got to a segment where they were testing to see if you would survive driving a motorcycle out of an explosion like in some action movies. A women with short brown hair and glasses came on to talk in depth on the test, "In a lot of action movies there's some type of explosion and that the hero is trying to outrun on a motorcycle. The explosion occurs and the flames engulf the hero and everyone thinks he's dead, but then he ramps out of it unscathed" the women explained, "What we're trying to determine is if they would actually survive being that close to an explosion, so we rigged a dummy with pressure sensors on it and…".

As she continued with her description Rigby slightly lost interest, "Come on, enough of the science stuff and start blowing shit up" he said impatiently. But as she continued to ramble Rigby noticed that she looked a lot like Eileen. This suddenly brought the image of Eileen falling into a black pit back into his mind. He cringed at the thought as he put his hand onto his forehead. Despite him knowing it was just a dream and it being almost thirty minutes since he had it, he still felt the same fear and sadness he felt while he dreamt it. "Ah man, if something like that actually happened to her for real" he said shaking at the thought, "I don't know what I'd do. Maybe I take her for granted…maybe I…" Rigby's train of thought was broken by the sound of a loud explosion, he looked over at the TV screen to see flames dying down around a dummy strapped to a bike. "Damn it, I was too busy moping and missed the explosion" he blurted out, slightly annoyed.

He repositioned himself until he was lying on his side with his head propped up against the armrest of the couch. He let out a yawn as he continued to watch the show hoping it would replay the explosion and luckily for him it did in multiple angles. "Cool" he said quietly to himself as his eye lids grew heavy, and within minutes he was asleep.

Eileen was awoken by a loud ringing sound that came from her old alarm clock, she reached over and hit the button to stop it. She still used the same old fashioned key wound clock she's had since she was young. She knew her phone had an alarm on it, but why use that when she had something that was specifically made to wake her up she always thought, might as well get her money's worth. After she silenced her alarm she crawled out of bed and walked into the bathroom for her morning shower. The hot water ran over her as she started to wash her hair while she went over her plans for the day, "Alright, Rigby should be here around six and Mordecai will have Margret at the movie around that time too" she thought as she rinsed her hair, "If we get right to it we should be ready by eight, which is about the time the guest should start showing up. Then Mordecai and Margret will be her around eighty thirty".

She exited the shower and dried off before wrapping the towel around herself, she then walked back into her room and put her uniform on before walking back to the bathroom to finish getting ready for work. When she finished she went into the living room and sat down on the couch, it was the first time she didn't have to leave early to catch the bus and she was enjoying the extra time, "It feels nice to be driving myself to work for a change" she said ecstatically, "I actually have a little time to myself". She relaxed on the couch for a while before checking the time, it was six o'clock, thirty minutes before she had to be at the coffee shop, "Well I should probably leave now if I want to be there by six thirty". The coffee shop opened at seven, but it takes about thirty minutes to get everything ready before opening so she has to be there early. Her and Margret use to take turns opening, but now it's just her until they can find a replacement. It was starting to get to her but at least she has Sunday off, otherwise she'd be worked to death.

She grabbed her keys and walked out of her apartment, locking the door behind her. She made her way down the stairs and out to her car in the parking lot. As she started to drive she spaced off for a bit and before she knew it she was at the coffee shop, so she parked in the back and entered through the back entrance. She turned on all the lights and proceeded with all the opening duties. She brewed up a fresh batch of coffee and started to stock the display case with muffins and coffee cake before making sure everything else was stocked. When everything was done she walked up the stairs and unlocked the front door as she switched the sign to open before walking back to the counter. She was ready for the day to begin.

Mordecai's eyes slowly opened as he woke up to the sound of his alarm. He reached over and grabbed his phone to turn it off. He placed it back on his nightstand as he sat up and stretched his back, "Get up Rigby, time to…" he said as he finally opened his eyes to find Rigby's trampoline empty, "What the hell". He stood up and ran out of the room and down the stairs, when he ran into the living room he found Rigby sleeping on the couch with the TV on. Mordecai breathed a sigh of relief before walking up to the couch. He put his hand on Rigby's shoulder and shook him violently, "Rigby"!

Rigby jumped and fell off the couch, he slowly lifted himself up as he looked up at Mordecai who was sporting a satisfied grin on his face, "Come on man" he scoffed.

"What were you doing sleeping down here" Mordecai asked still smirking from ear to ear.

Rigby brushed himself off, "I had troubles sleeping so I came down here and watched some TV".

"Oh" Mordecai replied, "That makes sense, I was afraid you went for another late night cart ride and crashed or something".

Rigby's eyes narrowed as he glared up at his friend, "Why would you think that"?

"It totally seems like something you'd do" Mordecai answered shrugging his shoulders, "I see you got your voice back… kinda".

Rigby lifted his hand up and started to rub his throat, "Yeah, but it still bothers me a bit though".

"Yeah but if you keep using that stuff Eileen brought you you'll be better in no time".

Rigby turned and started to walk to the kitchen, mainly to hide the big smile on his face from Mordecai. He couldn't help but think about Eileen's generosity and the time they spent together the night before. He climbed up and grabbed a glass before jumping down and grabbing the carton of orange juice from the fridge. He poured himself a glass and took a big swig, which he instantly regretted as the citrus stung his sore throat, "Ahhhh" he yelled out, he then walked over to the sink and poured the juice out before rinsing the glass out with water, "Ok, milk it is".

Mordecai walked into the kitchen to find Rigby pouring a glass of milk, "So, are you excited"?

"About what" he asked as he put the milk back into the fridge.

"About the paaaarty" Mordecai answered while waving his arms in the air.

"Oh, I almost forgot" Rigby said, he took a sip from his glass and cringed as the milk mixed poorly with the taste of orange juice still lingering in his mouth, "Blah, that tastes awful. Luckily I know how to fix it". He opened the fridge again and pulled out a bottle of chocolate syrup, "Aw yeah, chocolate". He pulled the tab and began squirting chocolate into his milk.

Mordecai watched as the dark layer at the bottom of the glass grew thicker and thicker, "Whoa Rigby, I think that's enough".

"Impossible" Rigby chuckled as he continued to squeeze the bottle. When he was finished adding the chocolate he put it back in the fridge and fetched a spoon from the drawer. He put the spoon in the glass and started to stir vigorously, causing milk to spill over the rim and all over the table.

"Dude, knock it off" Mordecai yelled angrily, "You're making a mess".

"Relax I was going to clean it up anyway" he retorted before lifting to glass up and taking a sip, he let out a refreshed moan, "Ah, now that's more like it".

Mordecai walked over to one of the drawers and pulled out a small towel and tossed it to Rigby, "Clean this up before Benson gets here".

Mordecai's request was met with a loud groan, "Come on, let me finish my milk first" he said before taking another sip.

"Why don't you just do it now, then finish your milk" Mordecai snapped.

"Fine" Rigby groaned as he sat his milk on the counter and proceeded to clean up the mess, "Whatever happened to 'not crying over spilt milk'"?

Mordecai crossed his arms as he narrowed his eyes, "Whoever said that never had to deal with Benson".

Rigby threw the towel into the sink as he shook his head, he wouldn't risk saying it out loud but he couldn't wait for Margret to leave because then Mordecai wouldn't be sucking up to Benson anymore. He picked up his milk and took a big gulp, "I can't wait till Mordecai stops caring so much and stops this whole 'model employee' bullshit" he thought to himself while he drank the rest of his beverage, he licked the excess milk from his lip before putting the glass in the sink.

Mordecai shook off Rigby's animosity, "We should probably go outside and wait for everyone". Rigby again let out a annoyed moan. Mordecai looked down at Rigby, "Relax dude, it's Saturday so there won't even be that much to do".

"We should just have it off then" Rigby snapped.

A deep sigh escaped Mordecai's mouth, "You know how it works dude. Me, you, and Thomas get one Saturday off, then Skips, Muscle Man, and Fives get the next one off" he explained in an irritated tone, knowing he's just going over stuff they've talked about several times before. Rigby continued to mope and mumble curses under his breathe, "You know, if we keep our noses to the grindstone we should be done before two".

"The only thing I wanna keep my nose to is the TV" scoffed Rigby with crossed arms.

Mordecai slapped his palm to his face, "Why is it so hard for you to understand that the sooner we get done with our chores the more time we have to do whatever we want"? Rigby had nothing to say, he just let out a sigh and walked out of the kitchen to the front door, "That's what I thought" Mordecai said in a victorious tone.

The coffee shop was steady for most of the day, it never got extremely busy, but it seemed like there was at least a few people there at all times the whole day. Eileen scurried from table to table to wait on costumers, and for her four couldn't come any sooner. As the day went on she found herself looking at the clock more frequently, but if anything this just made the time move slower. After see finished bringing coffee to a table of three she looked up at the clock again, it was a quarter after four, "Where's Angie" she thought to herself, "She should be here by now". Eileen tried to stay focused on work, but she couldn't help but be annoyed by her co-workers tardiness. It was almost four thirty when the tall, dark haired waitress finally arrived.

She immediately ran to the counter where Eileen was, "I'm so sorry I'm late Eileen" she said timidly, "I had an alarm set on my phone but I forgot to charge it and the battery died".

"That's why I use my old windup clock" she thought to herself, glancing over the obvious question of why Angie would be sleeping this late during the day, "It's fine Angie, just call next time to give me a heads up".

Angie nodded her head, "Ok, thanks. And again I'm so sorry" she said as she walked back behind the counter.

Eileen quickly said bye to Angie before leaving through the back exit. She got into her car and drove off, before she could go home she had to stop and grab a few things for the party. She was happy to have her car back because normally she would have to walk to the store, then wait and catch the bus back to her apartment. While she was driving she thought back to the long day at work, "I just can't believe how constant it was today" she thought as she pulled into the parking of the grocery store, "It just never slowed".

She stepped out of her car and locked it before making her way into the store, she grabbed a cart as she pulled out her list. She was going from aisle to aisle collecting her party supplies when she thought of something that saddened her, "I wonder why Mordecai and Rigby didn't stop by today" she said disappointedly, "I wish they would have, especially with the kinda day I had. It would've been just the pick-me-up I needed". She checked out and walked back to her car where she proceeded to load her groceries into the trunk. She slammed the trunk shut, got into the driver's seat, and drove herself back to her apartment building.

During the drive home her mood started to pick up, she stopped thinking about work and focused more on Margret's party. She got her groceries out of the trunk and carried them up to her apartment, there was only a few bags so she had no problem carrying them herself. She set the bags down on her kitchen counter and let out a sigh of relief, "Ah, finally home" she said to herself as she walked to the couch and treated herself to a well-deserved rest. She laid back and relaxed, she then pulled out her phone and checked the time, "It's almost five thirty" she said while getting up from her couch, "I should take a quick shower before Rigby gets here". And with that she made her way towards the bathroom, but made a stop at her stereo and placed a CD she burnt in and pressed play, "This should get me in the party mood" she cheered as she walked into the bathroom and closed the door.

A few minutes later Mordecai and Rigby pulled up in front of her building, "Thanks for dropping me off dude"Rigby said happily as he exited the cart, "It really woulda sucked to walk here".

"No problem" Mordecai replied while checking his phone, "Well I should get going, we were going to stop and eat before the movie".

"Alright, talk to ya later then" Rigby said, he waved to Mordecai as he drove down the street until he was beyond Rigby's line of sight. Rigby walked inside and started making the trek up the stairs to Eileen's place. He reached the door and knocked, he waited patiently for Eileen to open the door but there was no answer. He knocked again slightly louder than before, but still nothing. Rigby placed his ear to the door and could hear music playing, "Ah man" he groaned, "She probably can't hear me". He put his hand on the doorknob and turned it, and to his surprise it was unlocked, "Huh, she must've left it unlocked for me".

He entered Eileen's apartment and looked around, he couldn't see anyone in the living room or the connected kitchen. "Eileen" he called out, but there was no answer. The music blared from the speakers of the stereo as he walked around, scratching his head in confusion.

"Er war ein Punker"
"Und er lebte in der großen Stadt"
"Es war Wien, war Vienna"
"Wo er alles tat"
"Er hatte Schulden denn er trank"
"Doch ihn liebten alle Frauen"

"What the hell is that… Italian" Rigby thought to himself as the music played. He looked over and saw a door that was slightly cracked open with light emitting from behind, as Rigby walked closer he could hear a voice singing from the room.

"Amadeus, Amadeus…Amadeus. Amadeus, Amadeus… oh oh oh Amadeus".

Rigby put his hand against the door and pushed it open, his eyes burst opened when he found Eileen standing by her bed… in nothing but her bra and underwear. When Eileen noticed Rigby standing there she screamed as she covered herself with her arms, "Rigby"!

Rigby quickly covered his eyes, "Sorry". He slammed the door shut and ran over to the couch and sat down. He just stared unblinking at the blank screen of the TV, he was in total shock. "Why didn't I knock first" he thought to himself as he brought he hands to his forehead, "Mordecai always said I need to knock before I just barge into places and I never listened, why didn't I listen". Everything happened so fast, he only saw Eileen for a second or two, but he couldn't get the image out of his head. He couldn't help but picture her standing there in front of him in her matching blue undergarments. He had to admit he liked what he saw, but that didn't make him any less mortified.

After a few minutes of soaking in what happened Eileen finally exited her bedroom. She was wearing dark blue jeans and the blue shirt she bought the other day, and her face was a bright red. She walked over to the stereo and turned it off. Rigby immediately stood up and turned to her, "Eileen I'm so sorry" he shouted, struggling to make direct eye contact with her, "I didn't know you were changing".

Eileen rubbed her arm in embarrassment, "Rigby I… why…I mean why wouldn't you. It's just" she stuttered, she was at a complete lost for words, but finally she was able to compose herself, "How did you even get in"?

Rigby finally looked straight at her, "Uhh, I just walked in" he said, chuckling a little, "The door was unlocked".

Eileen covered her eyes with her hand, "Oh my gosh" she softly mumbled, "The one time I forget to lock my door and…" she started to shake her head.

"Yeah" Rigby continued, "I thought you left it open for me since you wanted me to be here at six".

Eileen lowered her hand revealing that her face was even redder than before, "I guess I understand why you'd think that" she responded, "But in the future, just know that I usually always lock my door so if it's not just be cautious ok". Rigby tried to keep himself from laughing, but a few chuckles slipped out. Eileen was curious as to what was causing it, "What's so funny"?

"How can you 'usually always' do something" he snickered, "Isn't it normally one or the other".

Eileen crossed her arms as she narrowed her eyes at him, "Rigby, did you just correct my grammar".

A big grin appeared on Rigby's face as he realized the irony, "Yeah, I guess I did. Weird huh"?

The two laughed at Rigby correcting Eileen for a change and they both felt a lot more comfortable, Rigby wiped a tear from his eye as he looked back up at Eileen, "So, what do you need me to do". Rigby was usually rather lazy, but when it comes to planning a party he becomes quite dedicated.

"Well" Eileen said as she checked the time on her phone, "I called in an order for some pizza a while ago. I think it should be ready now".

Rigby stared at Eileen confused, "Soooo, you want me to wait by the door…"?

"Oh no, it's a carry out order" she elaborated, "I need someone to pick it up".

"Ah what" scoffed Rigby, "Why did you order carry out instead of delivery"?

"They don't deliver orders for that many pizzas" she answered, "If you can pick them up, I can get almost everything else ready".

Rigby threw his arms into the air, "But I don't even have the cart, Mordecai dropped me off".

"You can take my car" Eileen said as she ran to her room to fetch her keys.

"Oh yeah, Eileen has a car now" he thought to himself.

Eileen walked out of her room and ran over to Rigby, "Here" she said as she handed him the keys.

"Ok" he said as he took the keys from her.

"Thanks" Eileen said cheerfully.

Rigby looked down at the keys in his hand when something caught his eye. On the key loop was a keychain that said 'Valley of Adventures" on it, he turned it over and saw a small picture of him and Eileen on the Bullet. He looked back up at Eileen, "I didn't know you got this".

Eileen blushed a little when Rigby pointed out her keychain, "Yeah, I bought it real quick after we got off. You were already walking to the next ride so you didn't see me get it".

He glanced down at it quickly before bring his eye back up to Eileen, "You look horrified, why would you even want it" he chuckled.

"Well I just wanted something to remember the first rollercoaster I rode" she said happily. This was only half true, she actually wanted to remember the first rollercoaster they rode together.

"Oh, ok" Rigby said, "Well I should go pick up those pizzas then". He turned and walked to the door, he opened it and was halfway out when he turned back to Eileen, "So should I take the pizzas and run, or should I just hold the guy at gunpoint till he hands them over".

A puzzled look appeared on Eileen's face, but she eventually made the connection, "Oh yeah, give me a second". She ran back to her room and grabbed her purse and ran back to Rigby. She dug through the contents of her purse until she pulled out her wallet and took out the money for the pizza, "Here" she said as she handed him the money.

"Thanks" Rigby said as he took the money, "See ya later". Rigby walked out and closed the door behind him.

After he left Eileen walked back to the kitchen and grabbed some bowls to pour the chips into. She set the bowls on the counter and began emptying the chips into them. Eileen threw the empty chip bags in the trash, then her mind started to wander, "I can't believe Rigby walked in on me changing" she thought to herself as she started to open a jar of salsa, "I mean, he saw me in my underwear. He must've be completely repulsed". She poured the salsa into a small bowl and placed it next to the bowl of tortilla chips, she then pulled out a packet of plastic cups and started setting a few stacks on the counter, "Why does it seem like whenever I think we're getting closer I go and do something stupid that messes it all up. If I would have just locked the door this never would have happened". After she finished setting up the cups she noticed she left her purse on the couch, "I should put that back in my room". She grabbed her purse and started to walk back to the bedroom, "I need to stop fooling myself, if there was any hope of me and Rigby being together it would've happened by now".

Eileen walked into her room and in her moment of despair she tossed her purse onto her bed, when it landed in tipped over and spilled some of its contents. She sighed as she walked over to the bed and started to put everything back into her purse. Then she noticed one of the items that was lying on the bed, the yellow piece of paper from Rigby's notebook. She picked it up and unfolded it before reading it again and smiled. Just when she was about to give up hope that little piece of paper made her feel like there was still a chance. She folded it up and put it back into her purse before going back out to finish getting ready for the party.

Rigby parked Eileen's car before pulling his phone out, he then sent a message to Eileen

Back with pizza, could use a hand

Within a few minutes of sending the message Eileen come out to the car, "Hi Rigby, thanks a lot for picking these up" she said as she grabbed a stack of four boxes.

"Not a problem" Rigby replied as he took the other four and followed Eileen up to her apartment. He set his pizzas by the pizzas Eileen sat down on the counter next to the sink. Rigby took a second to look around the apartment, "Looks good, nice work Eileen".

"Thanks" Eileen said as she laid a stack of paper plates next to the pizza boxes.

"So what else is left" Rigby asked.

"Oh not too much" Eileen answered.

"Well let's get started" Rigby said. Rigby and Eileen then spend a little over an hour tidying up the place for the party, when they were finished Rigby turned to Eileen, "Is that it"?

"Pretty much" Eileen answered, "We still need to fill the soda cooler with ice but I was going to wait till right before people get here".

"Good idea, what time are people going to be here" Rigby asked.

"About nine" Eileen said as she walked back to her room.

Rigby pulled out his phone and checked the time, "And it's only eight fifteen, so we got plenty of time to spare" he said as he walked back to Eileen's room, he almost walked right in, but had a bad flashback to the earlier incident and decided to knock.

A soft giggle could be heard from the other side of the door, "Come in, it's safe".

Rigby slowly opened the door to find Eileen lying on her bed, "What're ya doing"?

Eileen turned her head to Rigby, "Just taking a load off before the party starts".

Rigby walked over to the other side of the bed, "Sounds like a good idea" he said as he laid down next to her. Eileen's heart started to race. Rigby let out a sigh of satisfaction, "This is one comfortable bed".

"Y-yeah" Eileen mumbled nervously.

"It beats the hell out of my trampoline" Rigby chuckled, he then looked around the room. He glanced over at Eileen's nightstand to find her book and noticed the bookmark sitting on top of it, "Oh did you finish that book".

Eileen glanced over at the book before turning back to Rigby, "Yeah, I finished it last night".

"Nice, how did it end"?

Eileen sat up and scooted back until she her back was lying against the headboard, "Well, the captain spend twelve years looking for his wife's ship when by a stroke of luck they found it on Titan, one of Saturn's moons".

Rigby sat up, "Cool, then what happened"?

"Well they landed and went to the ship, then they found out through the captain's log that a solar flare interfered with the ships navigation system and causes it to land on Titan" Eileen suddenly seemed saddened as she continued, "But when the ship landed the generator was damaged and all the life support was disabled, they eventually found the mummified remains of the crew… including his wife".

Rigby was quiet for a moment, and after a while all he was able to say was, "Whoa"

"Yeah, so he took his wife's body back to Earth and gave her a proper burial, then spend the rest of his life living in a small house in the country side like she always wanted" Eileen concluded.

"So he spent all that time looking for her just to find out she was dead the whole time. That sucks".

"Yeah I know" Eileen responded, "It was really sad, I didn't expect it at all".

"Huh" Rigby blurted out, "Kind of a bummer, I thought he'd find her alive. Oh well".

The room went quiet for a moment, Eileen had her hands in her lap as she tapped the tips of her index fingers together nervously, "Hey Rigby" she said without breaking her gaze from her hands.

Rigby turned to face Eileen, "Yeah"?

Eileen slowly lifted her head up towards Rigby, "If I ever got lost, you know like in the book, would you look for me"?

Rigby's eye became wide, he was caught completely off guard by her question. "Um, well that's a tough question" he stuttered, "I mean you're not my wife or anything, but you are a good friend so yeah I'd at least try to find you… I don't know about twelve years though". Rigby looked away from her and stared off into space. The nature of Eileen's question brought to mind his horrible nightmare again, and again the image of Eileen falling away from him and him not being able to do anything to help played in his head. The thought of anything happening to her was unbearable to him.

"Well I just want you to know that if you went missing I'd try to find you…for as long as it takes" Eileen said gleefully.

Rigby looked back towards Eileen and cracked a devious smile, "Well of course you would, everyone would be looking for me. I'm just too awesome to lose".

Eileen narrowed her eyes, "Is that so" she said with a smirk.

"Yeah pretty much" Rigby answered, "It would be a global tragedy, they'd built memorials for me and stuff".

Eileen laughed as she shook her head at Rigby's conceited response. After she got that out of her system she turned her focus back to Rigby, "Well I don't know about 'global' tragedy, but I'd surely be devastated if you disappeared".

"Thanks" replied Rigby. The two were quiet again, Rigby stared up at the ceiling trying to think of anything to say to break the silence. "Soooo, how was work"?

After he asked his question a frown appeared on Eileen's face, "Not too good" she began, "It never got crazy busy, but it was steady all day. Then Angie, the night girl, was thirty minutes late and it was just a long day".

"Whoa, that sucks" Rigby added, "Sorry to hear that".

Eileen suddenly diverted her away from Rigby, "Yeah, and honestly I was a little let down that you and Mordecai didn't stop by".

A feeling of guilty suddenly washed over Rigby, "Sorry, me and Mordecai got off work early today so we had an action movie marathon before we had to leave".

"That's ok, it's not that big a deal. I just thought it'd be nice to see some friendly faces amidst the chaos, I probably wouldn't have been able to talk much anyway".

This did little to help Rigby's conscience, but he feigned a smile, "What's the time"?

Eileen glanced over at her alarm clock, "A quarter to nine, people should be coming soon".

Rigby hopped out of the bed to his feet, "Alright, almost time to party". He ran into the living towards the stereo, "Let's get some music going in here" he pressed the play button and music started playing from the speakers, he started to bob his head to the music when Eileen walked out of her bedroom.

Eileen walked up to the stereo and turned the volume down to its lowest setting, "Hey, there was actually something I wanted to talk to you about before people get here".

Rigby stopped dancing and turned to Eileen, "Ok, about what"? Eileen suddenly held up a fold piece of yellow paper. Rigby froze as he stared unblinking at the paper, "Oh shit" Rigby said to himself, "I should've known she'd bring that up".

Eileen smiled from ear to ear at Rigby's shocked face, "Remember this"?

"Eileen do we really have to talk about this now" scoffed Rigby.

"Yep" she answered deviously, "Consider it payback for that glasses prank you pulled". Rigby let out an annoyed groan, and Eileen reveled in watching Rigby's tantrum, "So where were we when we last had this conversation… oh yeah, so which of the two notes were true"?

Rigby rubbed the bridge of his nose as he tried to think of a response, but he wasn't able to fabricate an answer and sighed in defeat, "Ah, that one" he said while pointing to the note in Eileen's hand.

Eileen's eyes lit up when he answered, "Ha, I knew it".

Rigby threw his arms into the air in frustration, "You're reading it out of context, it's not what it sounds like".

"Oh, then what does it mean" Eileen replied slyly, trying to antagonize Rigby further.

"I mean we are friends, why wouldn't I want to stop by and talk to ya" Rigby answered.

Eileen laughed at Rigby's explanation, "Rigby you couldn't talk, you lost your voice".

"You know what I mean" Rigby pointed his finger at Eileen and waved it angrily,

Eileen took great joy in seeing Rigby flustered like this, she was almost in tears from laughing so hard. Unfortunately her fun came to an abrupt halt when she heard a knock at the door, "Oh, sounds like someone's here". She ran pass Rigby to the door and opened it, "Come on in everybody, make yourselves at home". A small group of people walked in made their way to the snacks at the counter as Eileen closed the door. She then walked over to Rigby and leaned in towards his ear, "You're off the hook for now" she whispered before walking off towards her guests.

Rigby stood where he was dumbfounded, he was totally irritated. He slapped his hand to his face and slowly dragged it downward, "You've gotta be kidding me"!

Mordecai parked the cart in front of Eileen's apartment building, he exited the cart and walked over to the other side where Margret was sitting, "So how long is this going to take again" Mordecai asked as Margret stepped out of the cart.

"I don't know" Margret answered slightly bothered by Mordecai's faux impatience, "It just depends on how long it takes to find them".

Eileen text Margret saying that she broke her glasses and couldn't remember where she put her second pair and needed Margret to help her find them. Mordecai devised the whole scheme, thinking that him making up an excuse to stop by Eileen's place would seem to suspicious since he would have no logical reason to do so. "Ok, hopefully it won't take too long" Mordecai said, his façade appeared to be working since Margret was clearly irritated with his attitude.

The two walked up the stairs until they reached Eileen's door. Margret knocked and waited for a moment until the door creaked open slightly revealing a glassesless Eileen, "Hey Margret, come on in".

Eileen took a step back and Margret opened the door the rest of the way exposing the room full of people, "Surprise" everyone cheered at once.

Margret jumped back in shock, "What…what's going on"?

"It's a surprise party" Mordecai chuckled as he grabbed her shoulders, "You know, since you have to leave tomorrow".

Margret looked around in disbelief, "Wow, thanks Mordecai".

Mordecai waved his hands back and forth, "Don't thank me, Eileen's the one who planned this whole thing".

Margret turned to her short friend who now had her glasses back on, "Eileen, that's so nice of you".

"Oh, it's no biggie" Eileen said shrugging her shoulders.

"It is a biggie, thank you" Margret said happily, "I can't believe you guys got me twice".

"Honestly it's not that hard 'college girl'" Mordecai teased.

Margret shoved Mordecai, "Oh really" she snickered.

The three shared a good laugh for moment, when it died down Mordecai turned to Eileen, "Hey Eileen, you know where Rigby is"?

"Oh yeah, he's over there" She said pointing to Rigby who was in the kitchen getting a piece of pizza.

Mordecai started to make his way towards him, "Thanks". He walked into the kitchen and tapped Rigby on the shoulder.

Rigby turned around and looked up at Mordecai, "Hey, how's it going man. How was your date"?

"Not too bad, movie sucked but that's not important" Mordecai answered, then suddenly he narrowed his eyes into an irritated glare, "And it wasn't a date, we're still figuring things out".

Mordecai then exited the kitchen, an annoyed groan came from Rigby as he followed him into the living room, "Come on dude, why are you making this so complicated" he scoffed, "Just make up your mind already and stop beating yourself up over it".

"I already know what I want" Mordecai answered angrily, "But she just needs some time to think about it first".

"Oh, that's not good" Rigby replied.

Mordecai swung his fist and punched Rigby in his arm, "Don't say that, it doesn't mean she's gonna say no".

"Don't kid yourself Mordecai" Rigby sneered as he rubbed his sore arm, "Do you know what girls do when they think… they think".

"No shit" Mordecai blurted out.

"Let me finish" Rigby yelled out waving his finger at his taller friend, "You see they think, and think, and think, and then they think some more. They over think and before you know it she's made up a thousand reasons to say no and you're back to lying in bed blasting emo breakup songs like a pussy".

"First of all, I don't listen to emo breakup songs" Mordecai replied, "And second, how would you know if she's gonna over think it. You don't know anything about women".

Rigby shrugged his shoulders, "Fine, don't listen to me. But don't be surprised when she's all like 'Mordecai I want to be with you, but this, and that, and also this'" he said imitating a girls voice on the last bit.

"Whatever dude. I'm gonna go see if she needs anything" Mordecai said before he stormed off.

Rigby picked up his pizza and took a bite, "Yeah, whatever".

Suddenly a familiar scratchy voice hit Rigby's ears, "Yo Rigby, where'd you get that slice".

Rigby turned to find Muscle Man standing behind him, "Muscle Man"?

"Who else would it be, now stop with the dumb questions and tell me where the pizza is"

"It's on the counter by the sink" Rigby answered pointing towards the direction of said pizza, "What are you doing here, I thought you didn't even know Margret that well"?

"I don't but Starla does" he said, then on cue Starla walked up next to him and Muscle Man put his arm around her, "Hey babe, I was gonna go grab some pizza, you want me to grab you some"?

"Sure Mitch" Starla answered.

"Alright, back in a sec" he said in his 'smooth' voice before walking into the kitchen.

After Muscle Man mixed into the crowd of people Starla turned to Rigby, "So how's it going"?

Rigby didn't really want to talk to Starla that badly, but he was also afraid of making her mad, "Uh, not too bad. So how long have you known Margret"?

"Well" she said as she rubbed her chin, thinking back to when they first met, "The first time I met her was at the roller rink during mine and Mitch's anniversary, but we didn't really start hanging out till she invited us on that triple date with her and Mordecai, and you and Eileen".

Rigby's eyes burst open after hearing what Starla just said, "Whoa whoa, that wasn't a triple date".

Starla scratched her head, "Oh yeah, you're right. Mordecai and Margret weren't together yet".

"And me and Eileen aren't a couple either" Rigby explained slightly annoyed.

A look of shock suddenly appeared on Starla's face, "What? You two aren't dating".

"No" Rigby shouted as he shook his head.

"Oh, well that's disappointing" Starla paused and looked around real quick, as if to make sure no one was listening. She then leaned closer to Rigby, "I probably shouldn't tell you this, but Eileen really likes you".

Rigby rolled his eyes, "Yeah, I kinda knew that already".

"Really" Starla said in a surprised tone, "How"?

Rigby quickly rubbed the bridge of his nose as he shook his head, he then looked up at Starla, "Well, I always had my suspicions but the kiss was kind of a giveaway".

Starla's eyes widened in shock, "What kiss"?

"Wait, you didn't know about the kiss" Rigby asked in a disturbed tone.

"No, when did that happen"?

Rigby diverted his eyes from her, "Um, don't worry about it. It's not important"

"It happened the night he pushed her off that stage" Muscle Man added as he came pack holding two stacked plates of pizza in one hand and a soda in the other.

Starla glared at Rigby enraged, "The night he what"?

Rigby held both of his hands up, "Now I know that sounds bad, but there's more to it than you think".

"How could you do that to poor, innocent Eileen" Starla shouted, she then grabbed the soda out of Muscle Man's hand and threw it in Rigby's face, "Asshole". She took a plate of pizza and stomped off, leaving Rigby dripping wet.

Muscle Man shot Rigby a pissed look, "Nice goin' bro, now I have to get another soda" he scoffed before storming off towards the kitchen.

Rigby cupped his hands around his mouth, "Oh, sorry dude" he yelled out mockingly. He then wiped some of the soda away from his face before walking to the bathroom, "I gotta clean this shit off".

On his way to the bathroom Rigby bumped into Mordecai, "Whoa, what happened dude" Mordecai asked when he noticed Rigby was soaking wet.

Rigby threw his arms into the air, "Oh you know, Muscle Man's psycho girlfriend threw soda all over me".

"Why" asked Mordecai.

"Because I knocked Eileen off the stage" Rigby answered.

Mordecai had a puzzled look on his face, "That was five days ago".

"Yeah well apparently she didn't know, but Muscle Man took care of that" Rigby explained.

Mordecai pointed at Rigby, "Hence the soda"?

"Hence the soda" replied Rigby.

"Well you should go clean up unless you want to be sticky all night" chuckled Mordecai.

Rigby held his arms out, "What do you think I'm doing" he scoffed as he continued his trek to the bathroom.

Meanwhile on the other side of the room Margret and Eileen were having their own conversation, "So how's your day been Eileen" Margret asked.

"Oh not too bad" Eileen answered, "Work as a bit of a nightmare, but other than that it was fine".

"What happened at work" Margret asked worriedly.

"Nothing it was just steady all day" Eileen responded as she took a sip from her drink.

Margret smiled, "Sorry to hear about that, but other than that your days been good".

Eileen let out a small burp before looking up at Margret, "Excuse me…Yeah, pretty much".

"That's cool" Margret said, "So nothing interesting happened that I should know about".

Eileen diverted her eyes away from Margret, "Uh, nope. Nothing worth mentioning" she answered timidly as she blushed.

Margret took notice of Eileen's nervous behavior, "Eileen... what happened"?

Eileen started to rub her arm, "Nothing, I don't want to talk about it".

Margret reached down and put her hand on Eileen's shoulder, "Come on, you can tell me. I'm your best friend you can talk to me about anything".

Eileen closed her eyes and took a deep breath, "Ok" she opened her eyes, "Earlier today… Rigby… walked in on me changing".

Margret covered her mouth and gasped, "You're kidding".

"No, I'm not" Eileen replied quietly.

Margret finally lowered her hands from her beak, "So he saw you naked and everything"?

Eileen started waving her hands back and forth, "No no, nothing like that, but I was in my underwear".

"Oh" Margret said as she grinned. "So was he all like 'Oh Eileen, I want to take you right now'" she tease followed by her making kissing noises.

An enraged Eileen glared up at Margret as she pushed her, "Stop it, it was nothing like that. Actually he seemed horrified, I'm sure it grossed him out" she whimpered.

Margret stopped laughing and looked down at her distraught friend, "Why would you think that"?

"Because he covered his eyes and ran out" Eileen answered, her head still hanging low.

Margret shook her head at Eileen's bleak outlook on the situation, "Well of course he did, he was embarrassed… How would you react if you walked in on Rigby changing"?

Eileen looked up at Margret and scratched her head, "Um, Rigby doesn't wear clothes".

"Yeah, but that's because he has all that fur to cover himself" Margret explained, "What would you do if you walked in on him and all his fur was shaved off".

A deep sigh left Eileen's mouth, "I would react the same way".

Margret lifted her hands into the air, "See, just because he ran out doesn't mean it grossed him out. In fact it was probably the respectful thing to do… kinda surprising for Rigby".

Eileen cracked a small smile, "Yeah I guess you're right, I was overreacting. I've just been a little pessimistic about the whole Rigby thing lately".

Margret couldn't help but feel a little guilty, "Is it because of what I said the other day"?

"No… I mean a little, but it's not your fault. There's a bunch of other reason" Eileen explained.

Margret grabbed Eileen and pulled her into a hug, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean any of it. I was just mad about my own problems and took it out on you" Margret let go of Eileen and kneeled down till they were face to face, "Don't give up yet, he'll come around I know it".

Eileen's small smile grew into a large grin, "Thanks Margret, I appreciate that. And I guess it hasn't been all bad lately. The other day when he lost his voice I asked him way he decided to stop by the coffee shop and he wrote this" Eileen said as she pulled out the folded piece of paper from her pocket and handed it to Margret.

Margret unfolded the note and as she read it she smiled, "Wow that's so sweet" she turned the paper around and held it out, "Rigby wrote this" she asked in a shocked tone.

Eileen nodded her head, "Yep, I saw him write it. He ended up ripping it out and writing something else, but that was the first thing that came to his mind".

"Really" Margret replied, again in a surprised tone.

Eileen covered her mouth as she started to laugh, "Every time I bring it up he gets all flustered".

Margret started laughing along with Eileen, "Oh, that's too funny".

In the bathroom Rigby was just finishing cleaning himself up, he reached over and grabbed one of the washcloths hanging next to the sink and dried himself off with it. "I hope this isn't one of those stupid decorative towels" he thought as he rubbed it on his head, "I'll never get why people have those, I mean why would you hang it up if you don't want people using it".

Rigby threw the cloth on the sink and walked out of the restroom to rejoin the party. He walked into the crowd of people when a tall scrawny guy wearing a 'Genesis does what Nintendon't' t-shirt ran up to him, "Hey man, is that room you just came out of the bathroom"?

Rigby stopped and looked up at him, "Uh, yeah".

"Awesome, thanks" the man yelled as he sprinted to the restroom.

Rigby continued to walk, "Ha, guess that guy really had to take a piss" he chuckled to himself, "That was a pretty sweet shirt though, wouldn't mind getting one". Rigby came to the middle of the room where people were dancing in front of the stereo, the non-dancing party guest formed a circle around the area making a sort of makeshift dance floor. Rigby stood on the outskirts and looked at all the people dancing. Among all the people he saw Thomas dancing next to a girl who had curly red hair, Muscle Man dancing with Starla of course, Muscle Man reached down and took his shirt off and started to swing it above his head cheering as the other party goers either looked away or stared in disgust.

Then he noticed Eileen and Margret in the center of the floor. He continued to watch the two dance, they appeared to be enjoying themselves, both sporting huge smiles. Eileen wasn't doing anything too fancy, simply swaying her hips and pumping her arms into the air with the occasional spin. Yet there was still a sort of elegance to her movements, and Rigby found himself entranced, "I don't know how she does it, she could do the running man and make it look like swan lake" Rigby then began to rub his chin, "That's a ballet right… I mean that's what they were auditioning for in that overrated movie about the Black Swan or whatever".

Soon the song ended and Margret walked off the dance floor leaving Eileen by herself. Eileen looked around and noticed Rigby standing in the crowd of people. As the next song started she ran over to him and grabbed his arm then started pulling him to the dance floor, "Come on Rigby".

"But I…" Rigby started but before he could finish his sentence they were already in the middle of the dance floor and Eileen started dancing. Rigby stood motionless and looked around awkwardly as the music played.

"I never meant to be so bad to you"

"One thing I said that I would never do"

"One look from you and I would fall from grace"

"And that would wipe this smile right from my face"

He looked back at Eileen who was still dancing just as franticly as she was earlier, Rigby shrugged and started to dance as well. Needless to say he wasn't as graceful as Eileen, his moves were much more sporadic and chaotic.

Off to the side Margret was watching the two when Mordecai walked up next to her, "Hey, you having a good time"?

"What" Margret said as she finally broke her attention the two dancers and turned to Mordecai, "Oh, yeah I'm having a great time".

Both Mordecai and Margret turned their sights to Rigby and Eileen dancing. Mordecai leaned over to Margret, "Bet you ten buck Rigby knocks someone over before the songs done".

Margret turned her head to Mordecai, "Are you kidding, the closest persons like five feet away".

"So it should be an easy ten bucks" Mordecai chuckled slyly.

Margret narrowed her eyes and held out her hand, "You're on".

Mordecai shook her hand and went back to watching the dance floor. As he predicted Rigby's dancing became a lot more spastic, especially during the chorus.

"It was the heat of the moment"

"Telling me what your heart meant"

"Heat of the moment… Shone in your eyes"

During the last bit of the chorus Rigby flung his arm out and hit the face of the guy wearing the 'Nintendon't' shirt. Both Mordecai and Margret leaned in closer, clenching their fists in anticipation. The man stumbled backwards and started to lean to his right, he soon stood on one foot as he held his arms out, twirling them around in an attempt to regain his balance, but eventually fell to the ground. "Whaoooo" Mordecai cheered as Margret groaned in defeat, "That ten bucks is mine".

Margret started to laugh as she shook her head, "Fine, you win". They turned back towards Rigby who was helping the poor guy to his feet. Once he was up he stormed off into the crowd. Rigby brushed this off and just went back to dancing.

Soon the song started to fade out and Rigby and Eileen took a quick break from their dancing. Then the next song began to play, it opened with a violin melody and Rigby could tell right away it was going to be a slow song. Rigby turned around and started to make his way off the dance floor but stopped when he felt Eileen's hand grab his shoulder.

"Rigby" she said hesitantly. Rigby looked back at her, she appeared to be very nervous. She then lowered her gaze to the floor, "Never mind".

Rigby took a moment before letting out a loud sigh, "If you wanna dance then… I guess it alright".

Eileen didn't say a word, she just smiled and led him back to the floor before they started dancing. The way they were dancing was very 'middle school' with Rigby placing his hands on her sides with his arms bent at an angle, leaving a significant amount of space between the two. Rigby awkwardly looked around the room, all the while Eileen wasn't able to take her eyes off of him as the music played in the background.

"We don't need to talk about it anymore"

"Yesterday's just a memory… can we close the door"

"I just made one mistake…I didn't know what to say"

"When you called me baby"

A little ways away from them Mordecai and Margret made their way to the dance floor as well, and Margret glanced over and noticed the rather pathetic way they were dancing, "Ah" she scoffed, "What the hell is he doing, hasn't he ever danced with a girl before"?

Mordecai looked over at the two, "Actually no, he hasn't".

Margret continued to look at them until she decided she's finally had enough, "I'll be right back". She broke away from Mordecai and walked over to Rigby and leaned in towards him, "If you're going to dance with her, then at least act like you're not afraid to touch her" she whispered into his ear. She then placed one hand on each of their backs and pushed them together, the she grabbed his arms and moved them so they were wrapped around her waist. Margret turned around and walked back to Mordecai.

Rigby's heart was racing, he was comfortable with the minimal contact. But after Margret interfered Eileen was pressed up against him. She didn't seem to share his concerns, in fact she didn't seem bothered at all. She readjusted her arms until she was holding him even tighter and laid her head on his shoulder. He could feel the heat resonate from her body into his own, he started to breathe normally as he started to feel more relaxed. Then, as if by instinct, he pulled her in closer and laid his head against hers. Even when he realized what he was doing he didn't do anything to change it. As the two continued to dance Rigby was surprised by how content he was. For the first time in a while his mind was clear, he just focused on the moment, how he could feel her chest move with every breath she took and how her hair brushed up against his face.

"Can you take me high enough"

"Won't you fly me over yesterday"

"Can you take me high enough"

"It's never over, yesterday's just a memory"

"Yesterday's just a memory"

The song came to an abrupt end and both Eileen and Rigby slowly lifted their heads. They let go of each other and took a step back. After a moment of silence Rigby turned around and walked away, leaving Eileen a little dumbfounded. He stormed over to Mordecai and Margret, "What was that about" he yelled at Margret, "You just made it awkward".

"I made it awkward" Margret scoffed, "You looked like an eighth grader having his first dance".

"Yeah it was pretty bad dude, you looked like a Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robot" Mordecai added resulting in Rigby shooting him a dirty look.

"Does it matter how I was dancing" Rigby shouted, increasing his volume slightly, "It shouldn't be any of her business". Rigby turned around and darted off towards the kitchen. He grabbed a plate and started piling an assortment of snacks onto it.

While he was throwing a handful of tortilla chips onto of the mountain of food Eileen walked over and grabbed a plate as well, "Are you having a good time"?

"The best" Rigby answered before he shoved a fistful of chips into his face.

Eileen started to put some snacks on her plate, "Thanks for the dance" she turned back to Rigby, "I know it's not really your thing so…".

"No problem" Rigby interrupted with his mouth full, he then swallowed his food, "It's the least I could do to make up for what happened at… well you know".

Her eyes shot down, "Yeah, that night".

"Eileen I just want to say I'm sorry again for…"

Before he could finish Eileen held her hand up, signaling him to stop, "It's alright, let's just agree to never talk about it again".

Rigby cracked a small smile, "Sounds good". Rigby grabbed some more food from his plate and stuffed it into his mouth. While he was chewing he noticed Margret walk up to the stereo.

She reached over and turned the volume down before turning back to face the crowd of party goers, "Hey everyone I'm going to be going now" she spoke loudly to everybody. "Sorry about leaving so early but I need to get everything packed and ready for tomorrow. I just want to thank everyone for coming, and I especially want to thank Eileen for putting all of this together".

Suddenly Rigby stood up on the counter, "I helped too".

"And Rigby" Margret chuckled, "Well don't stop on account of me, you all enjoy the rest of the night". She turned the music back up and made her way to the door where Mordecai was waiting. She opened the door and they both started to walk out.

"Oh I see what's going on" Muscle Man yelled from the couch, "Wooo go Mordecai".

"I'm just going to help her pack" Mordecai shouted back at him.

"That's a new one, I never heard it called that" Muscle Man replied before busting out into hysterical laughter.

Mordecai turned back to Margret and put his hand on her shoulder, "Let's go".

"Good idea" Margret said as the two left the apartment and closed the door behind them. After they were gone everyone went back to what they were doing.

"Bye, thanks for coming" Eileen said as the last of the guest walked out the door. She closed the door and locked it before letting out an exhausted groan, she turned around and saw Rigby reaching his hand in between the couch cushions.

"Hey have you seen my phone" Rigby asked with an annoyed tone.

"No I haven't" Eileen answered.

"Ah, damn it" Rigby scoffed, "Can you call it real quick"?

Eileen pulled out her phone and went to Rigby's name. She pressed call and the two waited in silence to see if they could hear it. Eileen noticed a noise coming from her room, "I think I hear it" she said as she ran into her bedroom. When she opened the door the ring became louder, she followed the noise until she found it lying on the floor by her bed. She reached down and picked it up before handing it to Rigby, "Here, you must have dropped it earlier".

"Thanks" Rigby said as he grabbed it from her hands.

"You're welcome" Eileen said as she walked back into the living room, "Well I'm probably going to pick up the place a bit, I'll see you later".

Rigby followed her out into the living, "Actually, I can give you a hand with cleaning up if you want".

Eileen turned back to Rigby, "Really" she said surprised.

Rigby nodded his head, "Yeah".

"You don't have to do that Rigby" Eileen said cheerfully, "There's not that much to do anyway".

"Exactly, so between the two of us it'll get done super quick" Rigby retorted, "I mean you threw this awesome party, it's only fair that someone helps you out".

Eileen looked up into the air while she thought for a second, "Um, ok" she finally brought her eyes back to Rigby, "I accept your offer".

Rigby and Eileen scattered across the room and started to pick up the trash that was left by everyone. Rigby went to the kitchen and cleaned the spilt food of the counter and Eileen threw away empty cups left on the coffee table. After cleaning off the coffee table Eileen walked towards the stereo when she noticed some crushed cups on the shelf of her bookcase, "How the heck did that even get up there"?

Eileen stood on her toes and tried to grab the garbage but it was just out of her reach. She turned towards Rigby, "Hey Rigby could you give me a lift"?

Rigby looked over at Eileen, "Uhh, what"?

"I need a boost so I can get the trash up here" Eileen repeated.

Rigby slowly made his way over to the bookcase, once he got there Eileen turned towards the case. Rigby hesitantly put his hands waists, "Ok on three" Eileen instructed, "One…two…three".

Eileen leapt and Rigby used all of his strength to lift her up. Eileen tried to grab all the trash as quickly as she could because she could feel Rigby's arms trembling. "Uuuhhhggg" Rigby groaned as he struggled to keep Eileen in the air.

Eileen quickly grabbed the last bit of debris, "Ok, put me down". Rigby lowered Eileen so quickly that it could've almost been considered a drop. Eileen landed on her feet in a way the sent a weird tingle through them. Rigby backed up and let out a sigh of relief.

"Are you ok" Eileen asked.

"Yeah I'm fine" Rigby said, his arms still shaking, "I'm just gonna grab something to drink real quick". He walked into the kitchen and grabbed himself a cup, he started to fill it with ice, "Stupid Eileen" he thought to himself as he poured soda into the cup, "Asking me to lift her up, sticking her ass in my face". Rigby chugged his drink and went back to work.

It only took another half hour before the apartment was restored back to its former glory. Rigby looked around and admired their good work, "Perfect, see I told you it wouldn't take too long with the both of us".

"Yeah, I guess you were right" Eileen replied, "Thanks again for staying and helping".

"No problem" Rigby said as he made his way to the door, "Well I should go now, it's pretty late. See ya lat… Oh shit".

Rigby's outburst startled Eileen causing her to jump and snap her head towards him, "What, what's wrong".

Rigby placed both of his hands on his head, "Mordecai was my ride, and he left hours ago".

"I can give you a ride home real quick" Eileen suggested.

Rigby shook his head, "No that's ok, I don't want you to have to drive me back this late. I'll just walk home".

"Absolutely not" Eileen said sternly, "You can stay here and I'll give you a right back tomorrow". Eileen ran into her room and came out with a pillow and blanket. She set them on the coffee table in front of the couch before walking back to her room.

Rigby sat down in the middle of the couch and relaxed, "Aw man, if feels good to sit down". After a moment Eileen walked out of her room. Rigby turned around to look at her and noticed she changed into some night clothes, she was now wearing a plain grey t-shirt and pink pajama bottoms with konichiwa kat on them. "Pff, nice pajamas" Rigby snickered teasingly, "How much of a girl are you"?

"Oh, I'll show you how much of a girl I am" Eileen promptly regretted her words, "That came out wrong, just forget I said it".

Rigby couldn't contain his laughter, "No way" he teased.

Eileen ignored Rigby's reaction and walked over to the couch, "Is there anything else you need"?

"No not really" Rigby answered, still laughing a little.

"Ok, good night" she then turned and started to walk back to her bedroom.

Rigby sat up and spun around towards her, "Wait don't go to bed yet", she stopped and looked back at him. "Just chill for a bit, I mean you don't have to work tomorrow right"?

"No" she replied.

"Then come hang out for a bit" Rigby said patting the couch.

Eileen thought for a second before deciding to accept his offer. She walked over and took a seat on the couch next Rigby.

Rigby leaned back against the couch, "So, did you enjoy the party".

"Yeah, I had an awesome time. Dancing, friends, food, what could be better" she answered gleefully. "How about you"?

"Oh, I had a pretty good night" Rigby replied, "I mean there were a few things I could have done without".

"Like what" Eileen asked curiously.

"Well, the only thing that bugged me was when Starla threw soda in my face".

Eileen looked shocked by his answer, "Why did she do that"?

Rigby was about to tell her the whole story but then remembered the agreement he made with her and decided to make something up, "Uhhh…I accidently brushed my hand against her boob".

Eileen's face cringed in disgust from his response, "Uhg, sounds to me like you should have thrown soda in her face" she said jokingly followed by the two of them bursting into laughter. The two continued exchanging stories from the party until Eileen let out a loud yawn, "I think I'm gonna go to bed now" she leaned over and pulled Rigby in for a hug. Rigby put his arms around her and hugged her back, rubbing his hand on her back as he did so. Eileen let go and stood up, "Good night Rigby".

Eileen was about to turn around and walk to her room when Rigby reached up and grabbed her arm, "Hey Eileen there's something I need to talk to you about real quick".

Eileen looked back at Rigby and sat back down, "Ok".

Rigby took a deep breath, "I want to talk to you about what happened that night during karaoke".

"Rigby, I thought we said we weren't going to talk about that anymore" Eileen said sternly.

"I know but there's something I need to get off my chest about it, so please".

Eileen looked at Rigby, it seemed like something was bothering him so she nodded her head, "Ok then".

Rigby inhaled deeply through his nose in an attempt to calm his nerves, "You see, the reason I pushed you after you kissed me was…because it freaked me out".

Eileen felt her heart sink, "Oh" she lowered her head in disappointment, "That's what I was afraid of. I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't ha…".

"Let me finish" Rigby interrupted, "It just freaked me out because I wasn't expecting it". Rigby paused for a moment before lifting his hand up and laying it on Eileen's cheek, "I…I didn't expect to like it so much". Eileen's eyes widened as Rigby slowly leaned in closer to her, "I didn't expect to want to do it again so badly".

Eileen's heart was pounding in her chest, she just stared at Rigby as her body froze in disbelief. "Rigby I don't under…"

Eileen was interrupted by Rigby leaning in and kissing her, she stiffened up in shock at first, but immediately relaxed and started kissing him back. She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him closer. Eileen's back was pressed against the armrest as Rigby continued to passionately kiss her, he caressed her as they slid down until Eileen was lying flat on the couch. Rigby finally pulled away, his head was hovering over Eileen who was panting heavily. He stared into her eyes has he brushed her hair away from her face. Eileen shot up and snuck another quick kiss. Rigby smiled, "Eileen".

"Yeah" she replied while running her fingers through his hair.

Rigby leaned in closer, "You throw the best parties".

Eileen laughed as she pulled him in for another kiss, but neither of them noticed how close they were to the edge. Suddenly the cushion slid out a bit, causing them to roll off the couch and onto the floor. Rigby grunted as he hit the floor and Eileen landed on top of him.

"Oh my gosh, are you ok" Eileen asked, unable to keep herself from giggling a bit.

"Yeah I'm cool" Rigby groaned.

Eileen rested her head on his chest, and she could hear his heart beating. Rigby lifted his hand up and started stroking her hair, she lifted her head up and looked at him, "Are you treating me like a cat" she said teasingly.

"That's a pretty strong reaction from someone wearing kitty pajamas" Rigby retorted.

"That doesn't mean anything" she said as she playfully hit his shoulder.

Rigby sat up, "Hey, if you don't stop being so aggressive I'm gonna have to get the spray bottle".

"Oh really" Eileen stood up and reached her hand out, Rigby grabbed it and she helped pull him up.

Rigby dusted himself off, "If anyone asked us about our first kiss, let's just go with this". He looked up and noticed Eileen staring at the floor. He put his hand under her chin and lifted her head up, she looked like she had tear welling up in her eyes, "What's wrong"?

"Nothing" Eileen said softly as she wiped the tears from her eyes, "It's just… I've been waiting for this for so long".

A tear slowly trickled down Eileen's cheek, Rigby lifted his hand up and wiped it away with his thumb, "I'm sorry it took me so long, I've wanted to do that for a long time but I just realized it tonight…" Rigby scratched his head, "That doesn't make any sense, does it"?

"It does for you" Eileen snickered.

"Hey, I was trying to be smooth and romantic, guess that's not really my thing"

"That's ok, I like you just the way you are" Eileen said as she kissed him on the cheek, "Well, I think that's enough excitement for one night. I'm going to head to bed". She started to walk to her room and Rigby followed behind her. She walked through her door and turned around when she finally noticed him, "Oh no, you still have to sleep on the couch".

"Aw man" Rigby said pretending to be upset, "The whole reason I did all this was so I can sleep in that awesome bed".

"Sorry, but I'm just not that kinda girl" Eileen closed the door until there was just a crack open, "Good night Rigby".

She closed the door and Rigby heard her lock it. He walked back to the couch and laid the pillow Eileen left for him on it. He then walked to the light switch and turned all the lights off. Rigby made his way back to the couch and laid down resting his head on the pillow. He reached over and snatched the blanket and covered himself with it. Everything that just happened replayed in Rigby's head as he closed his eyes. He took a deep breath and for the first time in a long time… he had no problem falling asleep.

Rigby felt something lightly shaking him when he woke up, "Rigby". He opened his eyes and saw Eileen standing over him wearing her coffee shop uniform.

"What's going on" he said while rubbing his eyes, still half asleep.

"Angie called in sick so I have to cover her shift" Eileen explained, "I called Mordecai and he's going to meet us there to pick you up".

"Ok" Rigby said groggily as he summoned the strength to climb off the couch.

Eileen grabbed her purse and pulled out her keys, "I'll get you something for breakfast when we get there, ok".

The mention of food was enough to wake Rigby up…mostly, "Awesome, you're the best Eilly".

Eileen stared at Rigby with a puzzled look, "Is that your attempt at a cute pet name for me"?

Rigby stood quiet for a moment, "Uh, yeah".

Eileen laughed as she shook her head, "You should keep trying".

"I'm sorry" Rigby yelled in frustration, "I'm trying, Mordecai's the sissy romantic one not me".

Eileen put her hand on his shoulder, "Then don't be" she said happily, "Don't try to be someone else for me. I don't want you to be Shakespeare, I want you to be you".

"Ha" Rigby said pointing his finger at Eileen, "Now who's the cheesy one, that was cliché as hell".

"Oh shut up and get in the car".

During the car ride to the coffee shop Rigby stared out the window, then he thought of something, "Hey, I was wondering something".

"What" Eileen said, keeping her focus on the road.

"You said you were covering for Angie, but I thought she only worked nights"?

"She usually does, but since the shop isn't open past four on Sundays she'll come in and work the morning shift sometimes" Eileen explained.

"Oh" replied Rigby as he went back to looking out the window, "Hey Eileen".

"Yeah" Eileen answered.

Rigby turned towards her, "When you get off work would you want to… I don't know, swing over and hang out. Play video games or watch a movie or something".

Eileen glanced over at him, "That sound great".

"Awesome"

When they arrived at the coffee shop they entered through the back, Rigby and Eileen walked over to their table, "Ok, Mordecai should be here soon, I told him to come in through the back that way people don't see him come in and think we're open".

Rigby nodded, "Ok, I'll keep an eye out for him".

Eileen reached in and pulled out her notepad, "What would you like for breakfast"?

Rigby took second to think it over, "Just some eggs and bacon".

"Coming right up" she put her notebook away and walked back to the kitchen.

Rigby waited at the table by himself, he started to get bored so he started tapping the beat to his favorite songs on the table. After a while he heard a door open, so he turned around to investigate, "Mordecai, what's up man"?

Mordecai sat down next to Rigby, "Not much dude".

"That was a pretty great party last night huh" Rigby said nudging him with his elbow.

"Ha, it was pretty good" Mordecai answered.

"So, what did you do after you left" Rigby asked.

"Well, I went to Margret's hotel and helped her pack" an agitated look appeared on his face, "Despite what everyone thought that's all that happened".

Rigby patted Mordecai on the shoulder, "I believe you man, so did you guys talk about… you know"?

Mordecai rubbed the back of his head, "Yeah… we decided to just stay friends".

"Ah what" scoffed Rigby, "What did I tell ya man, she over thought it and…"

"Actually… Just being friends was my idea" Mordecai corrected.

"What" Rigby yelled in shock, "Why"?

"You know, I just thought the long distance thing would be rough. Plus she only has like another year of school left so…"

"Dude, what's wrong with you" Rigby threw his arms in the air.

"What"?

"The girl of your dreams wanted to make it work and you just decide to 'stay friends'. Are you crazy" Rigby rambled.

"Seriously" Mordecai shouted while slamming his fist onto the table, "You're the one who told me it would never work, and now you're pissed that I took your advice".

Rigby held up his finger to his mouth, signaling him to calm down, "I know what I said, but now I have… a new perspective on the subject".

Mordecai buried his head into his arms on the table, "You're right… I had my chance and I let her go" he whined, his voice muffled by his arms, "What am I going to do"?

"Just call her and tell her the truth" Rigby suggested.

Mordecai shot up and glared at him, "You don't get it, she was devastated when I said we couldn't be together. I was lucky she agreed to stay friends, I can't just call her and tell her that now. I can't just play with her emotions like that".

Rigby pondered on a solution when he came up with an idea, "Then drive over there and tell her in person".

Mordecai thought about Rigby's idea for a second, "You know, that actually might work".

"It'll totally work" Rigby cheered, "It's just like all those rom coms you like so much".

"You're right, when we get back I'm gonna find Benson and tell him I need tomorrow off"

"Yeah, plus he earned some bonus points from all the work you've been doing so I'm sure he'll say yes" Rigby added.

The two started to high five repeatedly when Eileen came out with Rigby's food, "Here you go Rigby" she said as she placed them in front of him. She then leaned over and put her hand on his shoulder, "Enjoy" she said in a soft voice. She batted her eyelashes before walking back to the counter, at about halfway she looked over her shoulder and winked at him.

Mordecai sat dumbfounded with his jaw hanging, he had no idea what just happened. He's never seen her act like that before, "What got into Eileen". He turned to Rigby for his response but noticed him looked off into space with a love-struck look on his face, Rigby looked over at Mordecai and suddenly his happy expression turned into one of concern. Mordecai crack a sinister grin, "Or should I say 'Who got into Eileen' Whaooooo".

Rigby punched Mordecai in his arm, and to Mordecai's surprise it actually stung a bit. "What the hell is wrong with you. Do you seriously think Eileen's the kinda girl who'd have sex with a guy the first night their together"?

"Ok sorry" Mordecai said, rubbing his arm for a change. Then he raised his eyebrow as he smirked, "But you're admitting it"?

"Admitting what"?

"That you two are together now" Mordecai said teasingly.

But instead of groaning or whining, Rigby just smiled, "Yeah, I do".

Mordecai held his hand up for a high five which Rigby reciprocated, "Dude that's awesome". Mordecai stood up and stretched his back, "Let's go, I want to leave as soon as possible".

"Just give me a second" Rigby stood up, "I'm gonna say goodbye to Eileen real quick".

Rigby made his way behind the counter and walked up to Eileen, "Hey, me and Mordecai are gonna go now".

Eileen turned around, "Ok".

"I'm afraid I'm not gonna be able to hang out with you tonight, Mordecai's gonna go and surprise Margret".

Rather than being upset like he expected she actually seemed rather touched, "Ah, that's so sweet of him".

"Yeah, and I was going to go with him since it's kinda my fault he has to do it anyway" he added.

Eileen wrapped her arms around him, "It's ok, we can do it another night. You help Mordecai".

"Sounds awesome" he leaned and kissed her, "I should be back by tomorrow". Eileen let go of him and he met up with Mordecai, the two then exited the shop and made their way to the cart. When Rigby took his seat he got a text message, so he pulled his phone out. It was from Margret…

I heard that you and Eileen are finally a couple

He smiled as he typed his reply…

Yeeeeaaaah

Mordecai started to drive the cart when he got another message from her…

If you hurt her I'll skin you alive

Rigby chuckled as he read it and sent her back another message…

Good one ;)

Almost immediately after send it Margret replied and Rigby's spine shivered as he read it…

Im not joking, I'll turn you into a fucking scarf

Rigby put his phone away, "Shit, I can't believe I just told Mordecai to go after this psycho bitch".

Hold on to me please...Don't you let go of me
Come on over, think it over
I just need to feel you...
Quietly, while you sleep, whispering the sweetest things
Close those eyes and start the dream, cause all of this is what you mean to me
Come over and I'll show you, shamrocks are an eight-leaf clover
Won't you reach up and touch my shoulder
And sing to me heavenly
Yes, sing for the life of me
About a tiny dancer in my bed
When she never has too much to say
She reminds me of the Danse' Russe
When my emotions are wounded
Her motions and movements chase the ghosts from me

Author's Note:
This the end of this story, and I hope you all enjoyed it. I am planning a follow up story about Rigby and Mordecai's trip for the future so keep an eye out for that. A big thanks to everyone who left reviews on my previous chapters, very appreciated. Need to point out a few things, first the show Rigby's watching is kind of like Mythbusters. Secondly the song being played are (in order) Rock Me Amadeus by Falco, Heat of the Moment by Asia, and High Enough by Damn Yankees. Thirdly, 'Genesis Does What Nintendon't' was the slogan for the Sega Genesis when it first came out, boasting its superiority to its current competitor the NES by Nintendo. Finally the footnote is from the song Danse Russe by Hurt. I might do another chapter full of extra stuff like alternate ideas for certain parts, inspiration for different parts, shout outs, and maybe an alternate ending, so let me know if you're interested in that. Until next time, and thanks again.
