The group drove out, Cecil pointing out directions from the back of the car every now and then. When Dean finally pulled up there was already several other people stood in the desert sun, chatting and laughing. Cecil jumped out of the car and ran over, pulling people into a tight hug. Carlos got out the car more elegantly, smiling and waving at the others as he waited for Sam and Dean. Dean sighed and got out, more people getting in his way. Both brothers pocketed their guns and got out, walking over to the group. "Okay everyone3, introductions!" Cecil exclaimed. "Everyone, this is Sam and Dean." he gestured at each brother as he said their name. "This is Old Woman Josie." he pointed at the first person he had hugged. She moved forward, hugging both brothers. When she hugged Sam she actually lifted him up, surprising since she barely seemed to reach his elbows at first glance. Dean mentally noted not to get on her bad side as she pulled back and smiled warmly. "This is Teddy Williams." Cecil continued, nudging a dazed looking man. Teddy shook the others hands before pulling a revolver out of his pocket and cleaning it. "And this is the mayor Pamela Winchell." Pamela nodded and shook both their hands before turning back to the only one not introduced yet. "And this," Cecil gritted his teeth. "Is Steve Carlsberg." Dean and Sam both nodded as he half snorted at them and turned back to Pamela. "And that looks like the other scientists." Carlos added as a open roofed car sped into view. It stopped suddenly infront of everyone, the tail swinging round violently and causing the car to spin at least 180 degrees. A woman in the drivers seat grinned wildly and jumped straight over the side of the car, running over. The others jumped out after her, with the expection of a slightly older man getting out properly. The woman ran up and jumped on Carlos, wrapping her arms and legs around him while laughing. Carlos hugged her back and she jumped down, turning to face the brothers. "Yvette Britain, pleasure." She greeted, jumping onto Sam then Dean. Frow this close they saw she was extremely short, around a head below Dean with spikey, pixie cut silver hair and a labcoat splattered in mud over cargo pants and a ACDC shirt. The elder man from the car walked over. "Doctor Dubinsky, head of chemistry. Sorry about her." He pointed at Yvette who was running around hugging everyone, although avoiding Steve. Two other scientists walked forward, "Hello, I'm Alex and this is Jack." They said, both looked identical in blue jeans and a oversized sloppy knitted jumpers under their labcoats. "I'm Dean, and this is my brother Sam." Dean said loudly enough for the others to hear him. "Okay people, grab your stuff and let's go!" Cecil exclaimed, skipping round excitedly. Yvette ran over to the car and reached down in the drivers side, pulling out a shotgun with another freakily wild grin. She grabbed a little pistol and walked back over, handing it to the Doctor carefully. On closer inspection, Dean realied most were armed to some extent, the exclusion being Cecil, Pamela and Carlos. "Okay, so if we split up like before, Pamela you go with Steve and doctor Dubinsky, then Alex, Jack and Teddy, I'll go with Dean and Old woman Josie, Sam you go with Yvette and Carlos." Cecil said. Everybody moved to their groups quietly, but Steve grumbled something about why they had those groups. "You know where to check, I'll see you all in a few hours. Good luck!" With that everyone left. Sam gave Dean a pleaing look as Yvette grabbed his hand and dragged him over to her car, but Dean just smiled and waved evilly. "Don't worry Dean, Yvette'll keep Sam safe. She's deadly." Cecil said, putting a hand on Deans shoulder before turning and kissing Carlos goodbye. "Stay safe." The both uttered to each other as they parted and Carlos jumped into Yvette's car. The others left in their respecting vechals, leaving Dean, Cecil and Josie in the dust. The day pasted quickly, sadly with little luck of finding Dear Dana the intern. As they got back to Cecil and Carlos's house (after the radio host insisted they stay another night of course.) Cecil let out a rather annoyed huff, followed by a small sob. "Cecil?" Dean asked, walking into the others room with a gentle knock on the door. "Hello Dean!" Cecil snapped his head up and put on a cheery voice and very convincing smile that reached his eyes. But Dean could see through it, mainly thanks to the small tint of red on the others waterline. "Look, I know you miss her. It could always get worse, she's still okay." Dean tried to comfort the other, sitting on the bed next to him. Cecil nodded and instantly lost his cheery look. "I know, I'm just really scared she won't be. She can defend herself, she proved it before so it's a silly thing to worry about, but I just can't help it. She's family, and I refuse to give up on her." Dean nodded. "I know how you feel. I lost my mother at a young age, I lost my father and I almost lost Sammy a few times. Family isn't just blood, and it hurts to lose it." he admitted, being truthfully honest. Cecil pulled off his glasses and wiped his eyes, nearly poking himself as he tried to put them back on. "Dean, I create relationships fast and I'm hardly ever wrong. I like you and your brother for what you've done and who you are, you're family to me now. If you ever want to come to Night Vale, I'm more than happy to have you." Cecil told him. Dean nodded and hugged the other. Unknown to the two, now crying, men, Carlos was leaning against the doorframe with Sam next to him. "Carlos smiled with a closed mouth and kicked off the wall, walking towards Sam. "He's right, you guys are family to us now." Carlos said softly. Sam nodded and took one last glance at the crying two men. "The same to you, Family is who you chose it to be." Sam added in a gentle tone. Carlos half-hugged the other quickly and walked into the bedroom, sitting next to Cecil and letting him cry into his shirt as Dean left quietly. "Sam, come here." Dean pulled his brother to the side. "I know we have to leave tomorrow, but.." "Goodbye Cecil, Carlos. Thank you for everything." Dean said, hugging both men in the doorway as he went to leave. Sam waved goodbye from the car. "Goodbye Winchesters, it really has been a honour." Cecil said, ready to leave for work. "You have to promise me you'll come back for thanksgiving right?" Cecil called out from the doorway. "Promise!" Dean called back as he got in his car. Ceil looked out of his window at the car driving away in a haze of smoke. "Hello, and Welcome to Night Vale. And to some, goodbye from Night Vale. While the void's in our lives might feel dark, there is always someone to lighten it. Our family. Family is who we make it," he looked down at a picture of Carlos and himself on his desk. "and while sometimes they can be crazy." He looked at the background of his phone, a picture of himself,Carlos,Josie,Steve,Earl,Dana,Pamela and Tamika. "and we might hate them at times, they are the most important thing to have. Blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb, our friends are our family. And we all love each other. Goodybye, Winchesters, goodbye." A minute later Cecil's phone showed a new message. He clicked on it. Dean sent you a text: Don't worry Ceec, We'll be back soon for thanksgiving with Bobby. Stay strong.
