Chapter 13

It's been three weeks since Alex last spoke to Mitchie and it wasn't due to Alex's lack of trying but more of the blonde not wanting any contact with her, that's for sure and try as may. Alex just couldn't get a glimpse of the woman, she hasn't come to school either, opting her students to be taught by a cover teacher. She even spend hours outside Mitchie's front door until Justin would called worryingly about her whereabouts but no avail, try as she may she just wasn't successful, she even went out and seek Miley who informed her she hasn't seen or spoken to Mitchie either as the blonde was also avoiding her.

To say Alex was worried would be an understatement, she couldn't help but wonder what had changed from they hot time together to this. What if Mitchie was having a second thought about Alex being a part of the baby's life? What if- no she couldn't think like this. There's gotta be an explanation to all of this.

Alex, once again was sat outside Mitchie's closed front door talking to God knows what, empty apartment? She didn't know but she just knew she needed to keep trying.

"Mitchie" Alex calls once again for what felt like the billionth times making her sound like a broken record seeing how that's all she's been saying for the past weeks.

"I'm worried about you baby, please just-" she paused to take a sad breath, "talk to me...please!"

She waited a few minutes for any sort of reply but none came, sighing the teen rested her head between her knees in defeat.

Just then a door clicked open and Alex hopefully perked up lifting her head up only to be disappointed as Mitchie's neighbour steps out of his apartment scolds at her.

"Hey kid! There's people trynna sleep here. Shut it!" He angrily slams the door of his apartment leaving Alex once again alone.

Alex sighs before standing up dusting herself off then glance down her phone for the time to see its almost past 2am. Her eyes scanned the missed calls and texts in hopes of having at least one from Mitchie but none.

Finally tired and exhausted the girl said nothing as she sulked away from Mitchie's door and out onto the cold air.

.

Behind closed door a dishevelled Mitchie sat leaning against the door clutching onto herself as tears rolled down her cheeks. It was only suppose to be for a few days until the bruise from Wilmer's hand healed only for it to turn into weeks of avoiding everyone that cared about her and she didn't know why.

.

"Come on Maxie, go grab your bag and let's go." Justin says as the little boy drops what he was doing and ran toward the spiral stairs for his backpack.

"Juliet, is Alex up yet?"

"No, I don't know Justin, there's something up with her." The blonde says going about to pick up the mess Max made.

"What is it now?" He groans.

"Look just talk to her and find out what's gotten her so down." She says pouting a little knowing it does the trick.

"Well she's got a baby on the way now, that's real responsibility maybe she just-"

"Justin."

"Fine fine, I'll talk to her." He caves.

The blonde smiles warming at him reaching on tippy toe to kiss his cheek. "Thank you." She beams.

"Mmhmm, come on Maxie. Let's go." And the two left the house leaving Juliet to tidy up around the place.

Alex practically ran in the hallway buzzing with excitement toward her English lesson that morning in hopes of seeing Mitchie sitting behind her desk, however her excitement lessens as she reaches the wide open door to see only a few students scattered around the room, some in their respective seats others busy in a conversation with their friends. Sighing the brunette stepped through the threshold heading to the back where Harper and Stevie sat.

As she was about to reach her friends, blonde strands came out nowhere blocking her path.

"Alex!" Said girl groans at who stood in front of her, the blonde ignores her annoyance instead wrapped her arms around her neck leaning her whole body on Alex's.

"Gigi, hi,"

"I know you stopped our rendez-vous, but I miss you baby." She pouts and Alex rolls her eyes before trying to pry her off of her.

"That's nice and all but I'm really not interested!" She only managed to get one arm unwrapped around her as Gigi tightens the other.

"But how can you not be interested!" She huffs. "I mean look at me! I'm hot!" She whines.

"Gigi, seriously get off of me!" And it was a battle of struggling to pry the blonde off of her and keeping her lips anywhere away from Alex.

The brunette chances a glance toward her friends who just shrug back at her in response, they weren't getting involved and Alex glares at Stevie because at least Harper didn't know that she was in a relationship unlike her multi colour headed friend.

"Ahem, sorry I'm late."

And Alex literally froze in place at the familiar voice and ignoring Gigi, Alex turns toward the door of the classroom and her breathed hitched. Standing there was Mitchie, looking as stunning as ever but there was something else with the woman, she was glowing!

"If both Miss Russo and Miss Taylor can take their seats so we can get started, it would be great!" The blonde practically growls shooting a slight glare at Gigi who huffs back at her but unable to restore with a snarky remark.

Alex finally able to disentangle Gigi from her kept her eyes locked at Mitchie, instantly taking in the woman's physical appeal to see if she can detect anything that's wrong but she seems fine.

"Miss Russo," her resolve was interrupted by Mitchie's disapproving voice. "Your seat if you please." She adds, brows raised slightly.

Alex went to say something but the teacher simply moved toward her desk and stood in front of the board so Alex reluctantly took her seat at the front of the class much to her friend's confusion.

"Now that we all in our respective seats, let's start-"

"I'm sorry I'm late." Dean announces running into the room out of breath. Mitchie just waved him off as he strides in and sits beside Alex throwing her a nod before focusing his attention to Mitchie who had started the lesson.

/

"Don't forget your reports for next week. Just because I haven't been here for the past days doesn't mean I don't know what you guys have been doing with other cover teachers." Mitchie tells her class as she watches them pack their things as the bell went. A chores of groans following afterward.

Mitchie grins, she can only imagine how many of them are cussing her existence in their minds.

"Class dismiss." She calls and the teens hurriedly left the room, well besides one particular student.

"Mitchie-" Alex starts only to have the blonde cut her off.

"Class was dismiss Miss Russo, if you have a problem then come see me during office hour." And with that said, coldly as well Mitchie turned toward the white board to erase the writings and get ready for the next lesson.

"Seriously? Can you stop doing that!" Alex frustratingly stated and Mitchie finally turned to face her.

Eyebrow raised up and glanced toward the open door. "My class is here Miss Russo, kindly show yourself out."

Alex stares at the blonde as if she has lost her mind but she knew there was nothing else she could do beside leaving, so with a tail between her legs the brunette left. As she reaches the threshold of the classroom door she chances one last look at Mitchie, sighed defeatedly then walked away.

Once she no longer felt Alex's presence anymore, the blonde teacher looked toward where the girl previously was in sadden. She knew she was being out of order and she vow to fix it, just not yet.

/

All morning up until the last lesson before the end of the day Alex tried and failed miserably at getting Mitchie alone to talk to her. The blonde either flatly ignored her or she was surrendered with her work colleagues so there was really no way of talking to the woman. Her sneaky texts between lessons went unanswered, the kicked puppy look she threw at Mitchie went unnoticed during lunch and Alex was almost at breaking point. She really didn't understand why Mitchie was ignoring her but she was going to find out.

Knowing the woman's schedule like the back of her hand, Alex grinned proudly as her plan actually found success as she spotted Mitchie rounding the corridor of the closet where she was hiding. Waiting for her moment watches as Mitchie barely passed the slightly ajar open before stepping out the hiding spot, gently grabbed her from behind and dragged her back into the janitor's closet flipping on the light switch before Mitchie could scream and grins at the scold that greeted her.

"What the hell is the matter with you!" Mitchie growls at realising she wasn't being abducted by some stranger but Alex. Although her heart almost fell at the thought of it being Wilmer but relax when the familiar mischievous brown eyes met hers as the light turned on.

"Well good to see you too," Alex restores with every bits of sarcasm that she was and Mitchie rolled her eyes.

"What is it you want Miss Russo." Her face suddenly harden and her shoulders straighten. "I actually have things to be doing..." No she didn't, she already gave her last lesson of the day and only had detention to supervise and that wasn't until the end of the day.

Alex frowns, "okay, can you stop with the 'Miss Russo' crap?" She sighed and the only response she got was Mitchie shrugging at her.

"What?" The blonde finally asks after a moment of silence of Alex just staring at her, looking her over.

"I just-" she starts before pausing, "are you're okay?"

"I mean I've been over at your place and it seemed like you weren't there and I been calling but-"

"I know." The blonde interrupts.

"Wait, you know?"

"Yes Alex, I know you been around my place." She says almost annoyed. "I heard you each time."

"And you didn't even bother to answer me!" The brunette exclaimed evaporated at the revelation. "I was worried sick!"

"Well now you know I'm fine. Are we done?" Mitchie then made to leave the small space but Alex reaches out and grasps her forearm.

"What's wrong with you?"

"I don't know! You tell me? And while we at it maybe you can also tell me all about you and miss bimbo you had all over you this morning!"

"What-"

"I'm so not in the mood for this-"

"Wait in the mood for what? I'm confuse!" Alex exclaim, was Mitchie seriously just being jealous of Gigi. "You do know there's nothing going on between Gigi and I, right?" But all Mitchie restored with was a scoff.

"Because there isn't! There isn't anything going on between the two of us. There hasn't been since I realised my feelings for you. Ask Stevie!" And Alex realised her mistake by the raise of Mitchie's eyebrows.

"Are you telling me that Miss Armstrong knows about us?" She looked almost paled as a ghost and Alex really wanted to punch herself right now.

"Umm, yes?"

The blonde's eyes bulge out, mouth a gap staring wide eyed at Alex.

"How!"

Alex cringe at the shriek, "well she might of seen us kissing?"

"But she's totally cool with it and not like going around telling people about it or that she will..." She was quick to reassure in hope of easing the woman.

Mitchie sighs not in relief but out of tiredness and Alex frowns.

"Are you okay?"

This time, Mitchie was at least nice about her respond.

"I'm fine, we're both fine." And Alex brightened up knowing Mitchie knew she was also asking about their child being OK as well and Alex felt relief.

"I broke up with Wilmer," Mitchie suddenly confessed after a moment of silence "I needed time alone." Although the time off wasn't spent crying about the guy but more thinking about her future with this girl standing right in front of her and their child...together.

"Really!" Alex happily questioned, her eyes lightning up.

"Well you seem broken up about it." Mitchie states sarcastically at the girl's overly happiness.

"As much I would like to say I'm not glad about that, I won't. Because I damn well am glad, the guy was a jackass and you deserves better." Alex states in finality and Mitchie smiles lovingly at the girl, always the sweet talker that she was.

"And I also really, really missed you." She husks moving closer to Mitchie backing her right against the door.

"No Alex, we're not doing this here" Mitchie protests although her body was reacting differently to what she was saying. damn it.

"Oh don't worry, this closet is totally soundproof." Alex grins her face now closer to Mitchie, her lips lingering closer to the blonde's.

"Speaking from experience?" Mitch husks back, feeling Alex's breath closer.

However the brunette said nothing except for lowering her lips to finally capture Mitchie's lips with hers. Both moans similarly at the feel that suddenly buzzed through they whole body. Weeks of being apart hitting them full force and Mitchie forgot all about being on the school ground and let herself go by wrapping her arms around Alex's waist and pulling her close. Lips still firmly locked in a passionate kiss.
