Okay I had a bit time to keep writing, so I hope you like it.
The next morning came too early.
The sun found her way through the curtains and was strong enough to set a contrast of Delia´s body under the sheets.
Misty was already awake but didn´t show the slightest inclination to get up.
Her eyes were focused on the sleeping beauty next to her.
Her hand were slowly wandering towards the Blonde but she was too shy too touch her face.
Misty was aware of the burning marks but it never came to her mind, that they made Delia less beautiful.
The sunlight tickled the Headmistress´ nose so she turned around now faced towards Misty, yet her eyes closed.
The younger witch finally found the courage, to touch her lover.
Her fingertips were tracing the scars, hoping it wouldn´t hurt Cordelia.
The Honey Blonde stretched and a little moan left her lips.
"Oh my God.." Misty gasped "...did I hurt you?"
She pulled her hand back, regretting she even touched the burned face.
"Huh?" Delia wasn´t fully awake and it took a few seconds to realize what has happened last night and why Misty was in bed with her.
"Did I hurt you?" the Frosted Blonde wanted to know.
"No, why should you?" she asked in a sleepy voice.
"I just..." Misty tried to find the right words "...I find them fascinating.
You know like a warrior, who got wounded in a fight. The scars tell a story."
"Except the fact that I´m not a warrior." Delia´s voice was clear and more serious now.
"That´s not true." Misty got furious not at Cordelia but on the fact, that someone made the beautiful woman believe, that what she was going through, wasn´t a battle.
"It is. I turned even more worthless than I was before. Do you really think this Coven needs a blind headmistress without any useful power?"
Cordelia wasn´t waiting for an answer or a disagreement.
She knew who and what she was.
"But..." Misty tried to explain herself.
"No Misty, no but! Let´s get dressed and find out what we are going to do about this"
Her fingers pointing at the swamp witch and herself.
Misty wasn´t ready to give up. She got out of bed, put on what was needed and stepped towards the blinded witch.
Delia was perching on the floor, a bunch of clothes in front of her, figuring out what was hers and what Misty´s.
"I know we have to talk about, what´s happening between us but not now." She grabbed Cordelia´s right arm and pulled her up.
Now standing in front of her, Misty tucked a loose hair strain behind the Headmistress´ ear and placed the right hand on her the soft cheek.
"Please. I realize you don´t want to hear it but I think you´re the most beautiful woman I´ve seen. And you mean so much to me. From the moment I saw you walking on the platform I couldn´t keep my eyes off you."
And then it hit the Frosted Blonde.
…
Cordelia felt worthless. She felt useless and there in the train station she didn´t step forward by accident. She tried to kill herself. The beautiful woman Misty admired tried to end her life.
…
"No!" Misty nearly screamed.
Shocked, Cordelia made a step back.
"What?" she wasn´t sure if the witch saw something, she couldn´t or if she wanted to take back what was just said.
"Oh my Stevie. You tried to..." Misty was still in shock.
"What did I try?" the Honey Blonde was confused.
"Back there, on the platform, you..." tears were filling the blue eyes.
Even though Cordelia couldn´t see the pain in Misty´s face, she felt it and she realized she should have never let herself get so close to the other woman.
"You don´t understand. And you wouldn´t. You have your swamps, your untouched nature and the biggest thing to worry about is, if your plants get enough water. But I´m supposed to run a Coven. An academy with students, who want everything but being in here. We are a dying breed and my mother even blames me for this. I haven´t accomplished anything in my life. This Coven needs a leader, capable to teach young witches everything they need to survive. And what did I do? I married a man who killed them all. What kind of leader am I, when I bring more danger in this house than safety, huh? Everyone would be better without me. You should have let me do the last step!"
…
The last sentence broke Misty´s heart. Tears were now streaming down her face. She couldn´t believe what she just heard.
Slowly she moved towards Delia who was just standing in the middle of the room, her arms crossed in front of her chest.
"Don´t..don´t say that. No one deserves to die. No one! You hear me? That includes you as well, Cordelia!"
The two women were now standing in front of each other, barely inches apart.
"You are important. You deserve a life. A good one" the Blue-eyed beauty softly said.
"It wasn´t your fault. Nothing of those things. You fell in love with Hank for a reason and it was definitively not the fact, that he was a witch hunter and if you´d have know you wouldn´t have married him, so don´t say this was your fault. He was a sick man. He killed the girls and he..." she took a deep breath, because the horrible images came back.
Cordelia trapped under a burning man, who had just tried to rape her.
"...what he did, was NOT your fault."
Cordelia tried not to listen, because she´d hear the pain in Misty´s voice. She´d hear that this woman actually cares about her.
She turned her head aside so the Frosted Blonde couldn´t see the tears filling up her eyes.
"Don´t do that." Cordelia whispered, needing all her energy not to break out in tears.
"You know it´s true. But you don´t want to believe it, because it would actually mean something wasn´t your fault.
And if this wasn´t your fault, there would be a lot of other things which weren´t your fault and all the negativity, all the pain inside you would get less and jumping in front of a train would be the dumbest decision you had made."
Misty might come off like a little kid but now she showed how clever she actually was.
"No. I..." Cordelia had no power left to argue.
The younger witch saw her chance and pulled her closer.
There they were standing. In the middle of the bright room. Misty holding Cordelia.
The Honey Blonde had totally forgot how safety and comfort felt like. She couldn´t hold back her feelings anymore. All the pain and fear from the last few months came back at once.
But she wasn´t alone anymore. She had two arms holding her tight and making no effort to change that any time soon.
She finally had someone who would be there for her.
