Jordan opened her eyes and rolled over to glance at the alarm clock on the bedside table. Normally she would be up by now getting ready for work but since it was Christmas Eve she had the day off. She smiled remembering last night, dinner with Rafe had been perfect and today she would be spending the entire day with him. He had promised her a real Christmas this year since she couldn't remember the last time she had done anything on that day. Usually it was a day just like any other, it hadn't been the same after her parents died, the last couple years she had spent the day alone and before that well she didn't want to remember those years. But she finally felt like she was in a good place, somehwere where she could start over. She felt safe here and knew it was because of him.

Slipping out of bed she grabbed her phone off the nightstand. She smiled seeing that there was a message from Rafe.

Merry Christmas beautiful. Look outside.-R

Getting up she opened the blinds to look outside and sure enough it was snowing. A white Christmas what could be more perfect. She quickly sent him a text back.

Its beautiful. Can't wait to see you today, what time should I come over?-J

How about now?-R

I'll be there in an hour.-J She replied laughing at his enthusiasim.

See you then :)-R

She decided to grab some coffees on the way to his place. She held the tray in one hand as she knocked on the door. It swung open and he pulled her inside and wrapped his arms around her as though he hadn't just seen her the night before. "Well someones happy to see me, she joked. You must really want this coffee."

"The coffee's just the bonus." He told her pressing a kiss to her lips. He reached out and steadied the tray which she almost dropped all over the floor. When he caught her off guard.

"What was that for?" She laughed when he pulled away and took the tray from her.

"Mistletoe," he said pointing to the ceiling where he had hung it just for this specific purpose.

"Ah I see you had this all planned."

"Sure did and it was a great one if I do say so myself."

He carried the coffee trays into the living room and set them on the table as she unraveled her scarf from around her neck and unzipped her coat. "Thank you for inviting me for Christmas, it means a lot that you would include me."

"Are you kidding, there's no one I would rather spend it with. I'm glad you decided to come." Rafe said as he reached for her hand.

"You hungry?" He asked as he handed her a coffee and she plopped down on the couch.

"Starving."

"How about I make us some omelets?"

"You can cook?"

"Can I cook she asks, I'll have you know I'm a great cook."

"Who taught you?"

"My mom she was a great cook." She moved from the couch to perch on a stool at the counter to watch him work. She watched as he deftly chopped some peppers and mushrooms to go into the omelets.

"Your good at that."

"What about you, do you cook?" He asked glancing up at her.

"No not really, but I do like to bake though."

"Well you'll have to make something for me sometime," he told her with a smile as he poured the eggs into the pan. Once the omelets were ready he sat at the stool beside her and the two chatted as they ate. She glanced at him and laughed, "You have some ketchup on your face."

"Where?" He asked trying to wipe it off. "Did I get it?"

"No here let me." As she reached out and wiped the speck of ketchup by his mouth he grabbed her hand and kissed the tips of her fingers.

She helped him clean up the dishes from their breakfast and then he poured them a second cup of coffee which he brought into the living room. He stepped up behind her while she was looking out the window at the furiously falling snow. He handed her a mug as she turned around. "It's looking pretty bad out there," she said as they sat on the couch together.

"I'm sure it will stop." He said smiling at her over the rim of his cup as he slid closer to her side, wrapping his arm around her.

"So is Gabby coming over with Ari?" She asked leaning into his side.

"She's supposed to drop by later. Hey I know why don't we watch a Christmas movie, I'm sure there's one on." He said grabbing the remote.

"Ok."

They settled on It's a Wonderful Life and just as they got into it the power went off. Jordan reached out to find Rafe's hand, it was almost completly dark in the room except for a small amount of light from the window. Outside the snow continued to fall covering the ground in a thick, white blanket.

"We better find some candles and flashlights," he said as he stood up from the couch and headed for the kitchen where he kept some matches. After gathering some candles and placing them around the room they sat back on the couch together.

"So much for the movie," he laughed as she sighed and leaned back against the couch.

"I dunno it's kinda nice, sitting here like this... with you." The Christmas tree was dark but they could still make out its shape in the corner. The candles illuminated the room giving it an ethereal glow."

"Yes it is. I have to say you look very beautiful in the candlelight."

She smiled at him, "I hope it stops snowing soon though or we might be snowed in."

"Would that be such a bad thing, being stuck here with me?" He joked.

"No of course not but Gabby won't be able to come over with Arianna, don't you want to see them on Christmas?"

"'Course I do but at least I would get to spend the entire night with my favorite girl." He told her leaning in to kiss her.
