Chapter 25

"Come on Sakaya, climb down." My mother coaxed me sweetly as she extended her arms but I furiously shook my head.

"I-I can't!" I cried and I held onto the trunk of the tree tightly and my mother's eyes softened.

"It's alright. Just let go and I'll catch you. I promise!" Mother called out. My 9 year old body slowly shifted and once I let go of the trunk, I felt the air rush past me. A squeal left my lips but it stopped once I fell into my mother's arms. "See, I caught you… Awww, it's alright."

I couldn't help but let the tears flow but my eyes as my mother's arms squeezed me tightly.

But Genn was there when my parents were murdered?! That dirty bastard! But I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard a low growl that sent shivers down my skin. I looked to see Zane was looking dangerously deadly. His eyes were narrowed with a deep frown and his knuckles were white as his hands were tightly squeezed around the hilt of his sword.

"Fine how about I make a deal… to both of you and maybe your comrades Zane?" Genn spoke in a careless voice. "Zane, you can be my successor if you want to and you."

His voice purred when he looked at me with feverish eyes again. "You could become my lover… I know you're young but like everyone say, the younger the better."

At this, Zane unsheltered his sword.

"How dare you speak to her like that!" Zane hissed that made me shiver violently from the cold tone of his voice.

"Ohhh, I see. She's with you isn't she? Such a waste of a completely good body-"

But the next thing that let Genn's mouth was blood. I gasped and saw that Zane's sword had pierced through him in the stomach. The sight of the blood wanted to make me gag and I turned around.

"I'm sorry Genn…" I heard Zane whisper forlornly before I heard a thud and another. I turned around to see Zane's bloody sword next to him. Genn's body was lying on the ground and his skin was deathly pale. Zane was on his knees with his hands on them and his head hung low. I looked to the side to see Cole, Kai, Jay, Lloyd, John and Lou walking towards us but they stopped a couple meters away.

I slowly made my way to Zane. Then I saw something sparkly fell from Zane's face. Then I realised that they were tears. Once I was behind him, I got down and wrapped my arms around him. I could feel his body tremble from underneath my body. I could easy tell that he was fighting with himself to make sure that no tears spill. As I was about to lay my head on his back, he turned around and crushed me against his chest and I could feel his face burry into my shoulder. His arms quivered when he tried to squeeze me tighter. I then started to rubbed circles into his back to sooth him.

"It's ok Zane." I started to whisper soothing words into his ear and after a couple of minutes; he calmed down and stood up with me still in his arms.

"Look like we did it." He announced and the others cheered. I only hugged him tighter. "Now let's get this place cleaned up."

.: 5 Months Later :.

"Hey did you hear the news?"

"What news are you talking about?"

"Earlier, one of the servants stumbled and spilled tea all over Lord Zane!"

"What, are you serious?!"

"Yes but Lord Zane just smiled and told her not to worry and asked if she was hurt!"

"Really? Lord Zane is so much different from Genn."

"Yeah! I'm so glad that bully is dead but I still can't get over the fact he lied to everyone that Lord Zane was dead! I'm really glad he isn't."

"Agreed. Genn doesn't care for anyone and Lord Zane does!"

"Ummm, excuse. Aren't you supposed to be working?" I asked sweetly and I couldn't help but giggle at their surprised looks. I didn't mean to eavesdrop on the maids' conversation but I was just walking by.

"Oh! We're terribly sorry Lady Sakaya!" And instantly, both maids bowed their heads in apology.

"Please, just Sakaya is fine."

"But it's improper to call the Lord's wife without any formal introductions." Both maids chorused and I only sighed. "And we're also sorry for talking about Lord Zane and not doing work."

"It's alright really." I tried to convince them but it didn't work. "But if I was you, I would quickly go back to work before your manager get mad." I advised and they quickly bowed their head and hurried off in a rush. I laugh heartily and I walked towards mine and Zane's room. Yes, Zane and I got married 3 months ago and I've been living here in the royal tower with him and Sayuri… Speaking of her… where is she?

"Sakaya!" I quickly turned around to see her sprinting at me but something was wrong. Fear was written all over her face. Instantly, she was behind me using me as a shield.

"Sayuri, what's wrong?"

"Hide me! Otherwise they'll kill me!"

"Who?" At this I got worried but once I heard a squeal, I looked to see Kai and Lloyd storming down the hall obviously looking mad.

"What's going on here?" I asked and I could see that they were trying to restrain their anger.

"I-It was an a-accident." I heard my little sister mumble and I turned my back to her and placed my hands on my hips and looked sternly at Kai and Lloyd.

"What happen? I won't repeat."

"She pranked us." Lloyd muttered and I could feel my eyebrow rise at this. Sayuri pranking people?

"She placed chilli into our drinks and when we tried to get some fresh water into our mouth, she clogged up every possible drinking water tap." Kai informed and I couldn't help but giggle. That's the best prank I have ever heard of so far.

"Hey, it's not funny!" Lloyd protested but I laughed anyway.

"And what are you going to do then? Punish her for a harmless prank? Unless she made you both bald then I would agree something have to be done but there's no need to do any punishments." I told them before doing back to walk down to our room.

"Sakaya don't leave me alone with them!" I heard Sayuri wailed out but I quicken my pace to our room. I open the cool metal knob and quickly got into our room. In theory, Zane should be in here in 10 minutes.

"Hi Sakaya."

I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard his voice from behind me.

"O-Oh Zane! You surprised me." I breathed out and turned to meet him. He laughed and held his hand out. I took it and he lead us both to the bed and he patted it, signalling me to sit down with him. "You finished your duties quite early."

"Yeah, I made I could finish early so I can spend time with my beautiful wife." He told me and wrapped an arm around my waist and he planted a kiss on my cheek. I could feel my cheek heat up at this simple gesture.

"Why are you turning all red...? Are you still embarrassed, even after becoming my wife?"

"W-Well…" I managed to say and he affectionately rubbed his nose in my cheek. I could feel my face going all red… Ah Zane, don't tease me like this…

But I'm glad. We are able to live a peaceful and happy life and that barrier called Genn have been knocked down so nothing can come between us. With this happy feeling swelling into my heart, I titled my head back to look at Zane's perfectly structured face. His pale oval face held the chilliest blue round eyes and his soft lips just make me want to kiss them.

I then pulled my face forward and my lips captured his in a heated kiss. Our tongues danced like a flame as heat was shared between our bodies. I could easily feel the strength leaving my body and I melted into his arms. Slowly, he laid me onto the bed and my arms wrapped gently around his neck. But slowly, he pulled away and looked into my eyes.

"You've learned to kiss much more like an adult in these last five months haven't you?" At his words, I could feel my blush creep back onto my cheeks.

"Hey, don't tease me like that." I pouted and he chuckled. His large hand then cupped my cheek. "Is my face all red again?"

"It's cute." Oh no, he really have done it. I could feel all the heat in my body rush up to my cheeks. "Now you're even redder."

"Stop teasing me!" I whined but he kissed me sweetly once again.

"I love you so much Sakaya and I promise you keep you happy and safe." And he kissed my nose. "And I hope we can make a loving family together… You're turning redder if that's possible."

"Zane…"
