Okay, I know many of you may be pissed off at me for not updating in forever. I don't blame you. But, here is Chapter 6. This is more of a filler chapter, but it is also important because Zuko and Sibyl build some trust in this.

Thank you to all who reviewed, favorite and followed!

Disclaimer:

So guess who gets to do the disclaimer this time?

Fire Lord Ozai: Where the Agni am I?!

gothchic6: Oh, good, you're awake. Now you can do the disclaimer!

Fire Lord Ozai: Let me go at once, you crazy fangirl! I am the Lord of the Fire Nation, how dare you!

gothchic6: Nah, I don't think so. If I let you go, I'm pretty sure you'll most likely kill me in my sleep. Now do the disclaimer, or I never let you out of here!

Fire Lord Ozai: Fine… gothchic6 doesn't own Avatar: The Last Airbender. If she did, then I would have a burn scar on my face like I did to my useless son, as she's reminded me so many times…

gothchic6: Zuko is not useless, he is beautiful and powerful! Now, let the story continue!

Chapter Six: Story Telling

*Sibyl's POV*

Surprisingly, I woke up just before the sun rose. I walk out of my "room", and to the deck. The sunrise is beautiful to say the least. The sky is alit with bright colors like yellow, orange, and even some pink. I haven't seen a sunrise like this in years. That's mostly because I don't go outside much. I really need to get out more.

I glance away from the sky, and that's when I see him. Zuko. The Banished Crown Prince Zuko of the Fire Nation, if you want to be specific. I can only see him from the back, but his stance is stiff, and his ponytail is limp, probably because of sweat. If I had to guess, he probably stayed up all night looking through the telescope and training.

I'd rather not alert him of my presence right now. I bet he's cranky from staying up all night, so I really don't want to take a chance at angering him. I go to tiptoe back into the inside of the ship, when he speaks.

"There's no point of trying to sneak back into the ship. I know you're there."

I freeze in my tracks, and I turn around to face him. He still has his back to me, so I slowly walk up to where he's standing. I stand on his right side, and he turns his head to look at me. Then he looks back at the glacier filled ocean.

"I saw the Avatar last night. He's hiding in the Southern Water Tribe. We're heading there now", he says quietly.

"Cool", I reply, "what does that have to do with me?"

He sighs, and turns to look at me straight in the eyes.

"I was thinking last night. You do realize that you are the only living airbender besides the Avatar", Zuko says with an edgy tone.

"Yeah, you and Iroh told me yesterday. Let me guess, you want to use me as bait", I respond, while folding my arms across my chest.

"Yes, that would be ideal", he says hesitantly.

I pretend to ponder the idea before shrugging and replying, "I'll do it."

He cracks the closest thing to smile I've seen since I met him. Kind of like a smirk and grin mixed together.

"Perfect. Not that you would have a choice otherwise… Here's the plan…"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, you didn't let me finish. I'll only do it if…"

His eyebrows furrow a bit, and his smirk dissolves into a slight frown.

"What do you want", he asks hesitantly.

"All I want is to know why you're hunting this avatar guy, and how you got that scar."

He becomes stony faced.

"And why should I trust you", he asks solemnly, his amber eyes now looking down at the ground, "How do I know that you won't run the second that we get to solid land?"

I chuckle a bit, making him look at me in surprise. "Well, for starters, I'm not the type to run away from things. If you ever see me running, then you should probably run too, because something is probably chasing me. Even if I were to try and run away, I am a complete klutz. I would most likely fall flat on my face, making it very easy to catch me. And besides, you're not the only one with a bad past."

Zuko raises his eyebrow. "What happened to you?"

I put my hands on my hips, and mimic his raised eyebrow.

"Hey, if you want some trust, you got to give some trust first. If you tell me one of the things I want to know, I'll tell you about my past. And maybe after that, you can tell me the rest of the story. How does that sound to you?"

Zuko looks hesitant at first. Then he sighs. "Fine. But if you mention this anyone, I'll throw you overboard."

I snort a bit. "I'll remember that threat."

Zuko nods. "What do you want to know first", he asks almost shyly.

"Well… I suppose we can start with how you got that scar", I say cautiously, while slowly reaching my hand out to touch his scarred eye.

To my astonishment, he didn't pull away or even flinch. I run a finger over the scarred tissue, and am surprised by how smooth it is. There is heat stemming from the scarred area, but otherwise, it doesn't seem to pain him.

I pull my hand back slowly, while taking in every detail of his face. He has rather handsome features, and I find myself almost swooning by how attractive he is.

"I don't blame you for looking away. My face will always be disfigured by this stupid scar. It ruined my life", he says as he looks to the ground again.

My eyes widen when I realize that he mistook my swooning as being grossed out by his scar. I fervently shake my head.

"No, no, it isn't that! Your scar doesn't gross me out. In fact, I kind of like it. It gives personality to your face. It shows that you're not just like every other person out there. And besides, you're attractive with or without the scar ", I reply, saying the last line while not really thinking about what I'm saying.

I almost catch a small smile on his face, but it is gone as quickly as it appeared.

"This scar represents the day I was banished from my homeland", he says solemnly, "and the day I lost my honor."

I nod at him to continue, while sliding down against the side of the ship, so I can sit down and listen to his story.

"I was thirteen when it happened. My father, the Fire Lord, and a few of his generals were having a war council. Being the Prince, I had wanted to listen in on the council, and see what awaited me once I became Fire Lord. Uncle Iroh tried to convince me not to, saying that it was boring, but I was persistent. He then warned me not to talk during the council. I wish I had taken his advice.

So I attended the council. One of the generals was talking about a plan that would result in sacrificing an entire division of new recruits. I spoke out against this idea, because all of the new recruits would go into battle for the first time, only to die in their first battle.

My father took this as a grave insult and sign of disrespect. My father demanded that I duel in an Agni Kai. An Agni Kai is a duel between two fire benders that only ends when one person burns the other, and it results in the burned person losing their honor.

I confidently accepted the challenge, thinking that I would be facing the general that I had spoken out against. Instead, I was dueling against my own father, since it was his room.

I refused to fight my father. I pleaded for forgiveness. He saw my refusal as a sign of cowardice and disrespect. Then, he burned my face, resulting in this horrible scarring. After that, he stripped me of my birthright, and banished me from the Fire Nation. He told me that the only way that I could return home was to capture the Avatar, and bring him back to the Fire Nation. That is the only way to regain my honor. The last sighting of the Avatar had been a hundred years prior… until a few hours ago. I have spent two years at sea searching for him. Only my Uncle Iroh has supported me."

I kept my face composed for his entire story, not wanting to possibly upset him with my reaction. When he finally finished, I say slowly,

"That's a sad story."

Zuko doesn't respond. I stand up, and say, "I suppose I should tell you my story, huh?"

Zuko just nods.

"Well, from everything you've told me, I'm definitely not from this world. In my world, bending doesn't exist. I was born in Chicago, Illinois, a city located in a country called the United States of America. It is a really big and urban city. In fact, it is the third biggest city in the country.

My mother and father were good people. They both had high paying jobs, and were good parents. We lived in the heart of the city, and every thing was all right… until one night.

When I was six, an intruder broke into our house. I don't know who he was, or what his motives were. All I know is that whoever it was, that he was big and scary. I hid under my bed so he wouldn't find me. He walked into my parent's room, where they were sleeping. I knew something bad happened when I heard the gun shot—"

"What is a gun shot", Zuko asks, confused.

"Well, a gun is a weapon that is used to kill people. It is a bit like a bow and arrow, but it is much more deadly.

I heard two gunshots. Then, I heard the person walk back down the hall, and out of the house. When I was sure that he was gone, I cautiously went to my parent's room. Inside, was the goriest scene that you could possibly imagine. Both of my parents were lying lifelessly on the bed, in pools of their own blood. I immediately ran to the neighbor's house to get help. They called the police over to my house. My parents were pronounced dead at the scene.

After that day, nothing was ever the same. I had horrible nightmares for years afterward. My aunt Chelsea took me in after my parents' death. I moved to her hometown of Rock City, Tennessee. It is a city near the mountains. I lived there for ten years, until I appeared here a day ago."

His eyes widen as he takes in my story. He doesn't say anything, but I can tell that my story has taken him by surprise.

"We will arrive in the Southern Water Tribe in a around four hours. I suggest you rest for an hour or two to prepare for it. There is no telling what could happen", he suggests quietly.

I nod, and smile at him. I go to walk back into the ship, but before I do, I respond,

"Oh, Prince Zuko?"

"Yes?"

"You should get some rest, too. I know you haven't slept all night. As you said, there is no telling what could happen. It is better to be well rested."

"I will", I hear him say as I walk back into the ship.

Okay, so I know it's not my longest chapter, but I'm pretty satisfied with it.

Review, or Fire Lord Ozai will escape his confinement, and kill me, so this fan fiction will have no chance at getting updated!

Guards: Miss, Fire Lord Ozai has escaped!

gothchic6: Great, now I'm most likely dead… but the more reviews I receive, the more protection I get against Ozai!

Oh, and, the more likely I am to update quickly!
