Chapter 12: New Day, New Problems.

Leo was sitting on a rooftop, munching down on a burger he just bought as he was trying to think on a new plan to deal with Kiba, Faiz, and the rest of the Riders. He does trust in Cinder's plan in dealing with Beacon Academy and Vale as a whole, but he prefers doing things the fast way even behind her back. And truth be told, Leo has nothing to worry about as he didn't have anything to lose as long as his plans don't affect hers.

He was curious about Smart Brain though. They've been deploying their private security force in search of the Rider belts at Beacon and setting up shop in Vale. There have even been some Smart Brain shops set up around the city to house these forces, not trying to look suspicious. If this Smart Brain was the same as his, then total world domination for Orphnochs is the end goal.

While Leo was all for it, there's no way he can be accepted as he would be an anomaly in their eyes. He could take the company for himself, but that would require so much work. Just then Leo's thoughts were interrupted when he noticed two figures emerge from a nearby bookstore.

He recognized them as Emerald and Mercury; Cinder's most trustworthy lieutenants. Leo recalled from a meeting that bookstore belonging to a traitor of the White Fang. The Dark Rider also noticed a bit of blood on Mercury's foot. Wasn't hard to tell what had just occurred in there.

Leo just chuckled to himself as he jumped down and landed on his feet in front of them, surprising them a bit.

"My, my…" Leo started as he dusted off his coat before looking at the two. "I don't believe that Cinder has given you the order to do some dirty work."

Emerald seemed annoyed. She didn't like Leo from the day that he and Cinder started working together. There was always something off about him and the fact that he's been a bit secretive in his own agenda didn't help either.

"I don't have to say anything to you of all people." Emerald retorted as Leo just kept his playful smile.

"No? Then perhaps to Cinder when you two return. I'm sure she'll wonder where you two have been all this time" Leo then summoned a small enough Gray Mirror as he looked back at the two. "I'll go on ahead."

He then walked as the portal immediately faded after.

"I so want to kick him in the face." Mercury stated plainly.

"Get in line." Emerald added as the two moved on.

[There's a point where it tips. There's a point where it breaks. There's a point where it bends. And a point we just can't take. Anymore~!] As the song starts, we are greeted with the sight of Beacon Academy where Makoto is at the front entrance with the Faiz Phone in his hand. He was replaced with Faiz for a moment as he gripped his phone.

[There's a line that we'll cross. And there's no return. There's a time and place. No bridges left to burn. Anymore~!] Makoto was then caught off guard when he was met with a pat to back from Echo, momentarily replaced by Kaixa. Tiber, momentarily replaced with Delta, placed a hand on Makoto's should with a reassuring smile. And lastly, the three turned to the back to see Kiba, replaced with Orga for a bit, smiling and giving them a thumbs up.

The song picks up as all four looked up to the sky before the scenery fades away.

[We can't just wait with lives at stake. Until they think we're ready. Our enemies are gathering.] The scene then changes to Faiz falling from the night sky, seemingly motionless before his suit lit up and took a skydiving position. The scene then changed to Ashrei at the top of a skyscraper, tightly clenching Beta phone as he is joined by a feminine figure with the Alpha phone in her hand. One more scenery change reveals an army of Riotroopers marching throughout the city with Cinder and Leo leading their group from the other side of the city.

[The storm is growing deadly!] Back in the sky, Ruby, YTE, and every one of MYTE's friends appeared in the sky, ready for battle. Ruby held Faiz's hand with a soft smile on her face and Faiz smiled back underneath before everyone landed on the ground.

[Now it's time to say goodbye! To the things we loved. And the innocence of youth.] The scene changed to RWBY making short work of Roman's goons and White Fang members. It then transitions to the Smart Brain CEO watching out the window with a smile as his security forces are being covertly mobilized.

[How the time seemed to fly! From our carefree lives. And the solitude and peace we always knew!] Smart Brain's next-gen Riders and Psyga appear before MYTE and charged. Delta was fighting Beta, Kaixa was fighting Alpha, Orga was duking it out with Psyga, and Faiz was engaged in a swordfight with Epsilon.

The song ends as MYTE attacks the screen one by one before being replaced with the title.

(At Beacon Academy Dining Hall)

Makoto was currently writing and drawing some stuff down in his notebook while eating a piece of chicken before Echo sat next to him, having just gotten her food.

"Hey, whatcha doing? Some nerd stuff?" Echo joked as Makoto eyerolled.

"Ha. Ha. Funny." He remarked as he closed the book. "I've just been writing some ideas for our armors. I even had a special idea where Auto Vajin can-."

"So yeah, nerd stuff." Echo joked as her twin then glared at her. "What? I was kidding! Just kidding!" She defended herself while Kiba was just enjoying his sandwich before looking at Blake down the table, who seemed to be lost in her own world thanks to a notebook she was reading. Kiba had a sympathetic look on his face as he remembered her reaction when they found the White Fang working with Roman.

"Something up?" Makoto asked, snapping Kiba out of his thoughts.

"Y-Yeah." Kiba said, quickly resuming eating his sandwich.

Makoto was about to ask again just to make sure before…

THUD!

Everyone looked at the end of the table to see Ruby standing with a big white binder that had the title, "Vytal Festival Activities. Property of Weiss Schnee" crossed out with "Best Day Ever Activities!" in bright red marker.

"Sisters, friends, boyfriend…Weiss." Ruby jokingly began.

"Hey!" The heiress remarked.

"Four score and seven minutes ago, I had a dream." Ruby continued.

"This ought to be good." Yang remarked before catching a berry in her mouth thanks to Nora.

"A dream that one day, that all of us will come together, as a team, and have the most fun anyone has ever had…ever!" Ruby said excitedly as Weiss looked at the binder cover with her arms at her hips.

"Did you steal my binder?"

"I am not a crook." Ruby immediately replied as she makes the peace sign with both of her hands.

"What are you talking about?" Blake asked with a confused expression, earning a finger point from Ruby.

"I'm talking kicking off the semester with a bang!" The team leader replied.

"I always kick off with a Yang!" Yang punned, causing a whole assortment of reactions. Ruby shook her head, Blake stared blankly, while Weiss had her head in hand ashamed.

"Goddammit, Yang!" Makoto shouted as Kiba just looked super annoyed, Tiber was contemplating leaving the room, and Echo looked like she was about to puke at that. She looked at Tiber's hat but her hand got smacked away by said brother the moment she lifted it up an inch.

"Don't." He warned as she swallowed her bile and washed it down with her soda.

"BOO!" Nora shouted from her desk as she threw an apple at Yang, much to the blonde's anger. Echo attempted to follow suit by tossing a peach at Yang. Fortunately for Yang, she caught it and tossed it at Nora. "HEY!"

"Look guys, it's been a good two weeks and between more exchange students arriving and the tournament at the end of the year, our second semester is going to be great! But classes start back up tomorrow! Which is why I've taken the time to schedule a series of wonderful events for us today." Ruby explained with a wide enthusiastic smile on her face, eager to get started with what she wrote down in the binder.

After thinking about it for a bit, Kiba looked at his team.

"It's true. Things are going to get more hectic as the festival and the tournament approaches. We do well to prepare for what's about to come." The former Dark Rider said with a slight tone of anticipation in his voice. Ever since leaving the Dark Riders, Kiba decided to make use of his second life by learning everything he can about Remnant. He was actually excited for the Vytal Festival as it would give him a chance to learn from other Kingdoms.

"Well now, look at you getting pumped up about this." Tiber remarked. "We still have lots of time before that and our teamwork has approved greatly since being formed. But I guess we could use some more training."

"Just don't make training our entire day. We have classes tomorrow and I'd rather savor my time-." Echo started right before the…

SPLAT!

MYTE turned to see Weiss's face covered by pie with everyone else in the room shocked as tension started to build up.

Weiss tried to wipe off everything off her face, revealing eyes of rage. She grabbed a sandwich and tossed it at Nora, who smacked it aside. Unfortunately, it ended up hitting Echo right in the face, creating a visible dark aura around said girl.

"…I think we're about to get that training today." Makoto remarked in a whisper.

"FOOD FIGHT!"

The next few minutes was utter chaos as teams RWBY, MYTE, and JNPR were now setting up for their food war while every other student was running out of the dining hall, not wanting to get caught up for the calamity that is about to unfold.

MYTE was in their fort, consisting of nothing but tables. Inside, Makoto, adorning a pot for a makeshift helmet, looked at his team with a serious expression.

"Alright men, I'm not going to sugarcoat this." He started as YTE stood at attention like they were in the Atlas military. "We'll be fighting on two fronts. Against JNPR and RWBY, our odds of survival may be low, but we're going to make it! I'll make sure of it! Who's with me!?"

Echo looked out the fort's "window".

"Sir, RWBY is starting their engagement!" Echo reported as Makoto looked out as well. They see JNPR on one side standing on top of a tower of tables in a ramshackle manner and they looked ready to fight.

"I'm queen of the castle~! I'm queen of the castle~!" Nora sang as Ruby stomped on the ground with a carton of milk in her hand.

"Justice will be swift! Justice will be painful!" Ruby said determinedly like an action movie hero before she crushed that carton of milk. "It will be delicious!"

"Yeah!" The rest of the team shouted.

"Gods damn, I love that woman. But love does not exist on this battlefield! Charge!" Makoto said to Echo and Kiba as they leapt over the walls of their fort. Makoto then turned towards Tiber. "Cover us!"

The sharpshooter nodded as he then took a mayo bottle and started squirting away, covering his teammates. As MYE charged, they and RWBY saw incoming watermelons up in the sky.

"Yang, turkey!" Ruby commanded as Yang saw two turkeys before the blonde inserted her hands in them, utilizing them as makeshift gauntlets. She started punching the melons away while Kiba took an empty pizza dish and started using it as a shield for him and his team. Echo then picked up a roll of salami as her twin fired at shot of mayonnaise at Yang's face.

"Gah!" Yang tried to rub the mayo out of her eyes and right when she did so, Echo was right in front of her mid-swing of her salami.

Yang flipped out of the way as she engaged in a fight with Echo. Meanwhile Kiba took a baguette and saw Blake and Pyrrha coming in from both sides. Kiba braced himself as he blocked both attacks with his baguette against Blake's on his right and the dish against Pyrrha's baguette.

Kiba grunted as he pushed both back before tossing his shield at Pyrrha, knocking the redhead down. Kiba then focused his efforts in the makeshift swordfight with Blake.

"You got my message last night on book recommendations?" Kiba asked casually as he swept kicked Blake.

Blake quickly recovered and made a shadow clone to take the hit while she rolled out of the way.

"I did. I'll have your books by later today." Blake casually answered as she spotted fruits and vegetables nearby. She then proceeded to use her free hand to grab and toss whatever was in her sight.

"Cool." Kiba answered back as he smacked a few of the fruits and vegetables away before Pyrrha recovered and found a few baguettes near her and threw them like javelins. The first one smacked Kiba right in the face, throwing him onto a table while Blake deflecting a couple before a third one also knocked her aside.

Ruby then took to action by grabbing a tray and used it as a board, riding along the lunch table. She was racing towards Pyrrha, but her face was then met with a pizza which caused the tray to fly and smack Pyrrha away.

Ruby landed on her back as she removed the pizza and saw Makoto looking down at her. Ruby immediately got up and jumped back.

"Nothing personal, still love you." Makoto said as he picked up ham drumstick and charged. He managed to give Ruby a few good hits in before she stumbled.

Ruby then hopped down from the table and grabbed two rolls of salami.

"Love you too!" Ruby smiled as the two charged at each other. Their weapons clashed multiple times as Weiss rushed past them with a ketchup bottle in hand. She then saw Nora and Ren coming at her before the heiress impaled the ground with the bottle, unleashing a massive wave of ketchup.

Ren slipped and slid across the floor before crashing into a bunch of stacked tables, causing them to fly around. Nora jumped and hopped on each table while dodging mayo fire from MYTE's sniper. Nora grasped her hands on a flag pole, detached it, and stuck a watermelon on one end of it, creating a makeshift hammer.

Nora noticed a pie on one of the tables and knocked it towards MYTE's fort at high speed. Tiber stopped firing as he noticed the pie about to hit his face.

"Oh crap." Tiber got out before he was smacked right in the face with the blueberry pie, the force throwing him out the window.

"Tiber!" Makoto saw before Ruby dropped one roll of salami and replacing it with a bowl of soup nearby. She used her speed Semblance to quickly run up to him and gave him a sip, making the Orphnoch wince due to his sensitive tongue. Ruby then took advantage of this by smacking Makoto away with her remaining salami.

"Low blow!" He got out as he landed on the ground.

"I'll make it up to you on our date tonight!" Ruby said as she noticed Weiss about to be attacked by Nora. She quickly rushed to her teammate's aid, taking the knock from Nora and flying a few feet back as a result of it.

Weiss then replaced her ketchup bottle with a swordfish, using it as makeshift rapier. Echo, having seen her brother thrown out, gritted her teeth as she charged. Picking up foot long subs in both hands, the three girls charged at each other. The three were clashing weapons and dodging each other's moves.

Seeing Nora's melon about to hit her head-on, Echo ducked and allowed Weiss to take the full brunt of the attack. She flung back into the wall, knocking her out. Ruby caught her and looked at her with a sorrowful expression on her face.

"Weiss, don't leave me! Noooooo~!" Ruby called out as a support beam fell behind her.

Echo looked at the bloodthirsty Nora as she attempted to smack her in the face with her sub, only for it to be caught in the mouth. Nora smirked as she bit down and ate part of the sandwich. Echo just looked very surprised as she tossed the bitten sandwich away before having to roll out of the way of Nora's hammer.

Meanwhile for Kiba, he was tossing carrots at Yang, who was only punching them away with her turkey boxing gloves. The blonde charged at the man before she was about a few inches away from him. Kiba immediately ducked, allowing a charging Ren to take the punch in his stead.

Ren stumbled back but regained his footing as he then attacked Yang and Kiba with a couple of leeks that he just picked up a few moments ago. Unfortunately for Kiba, he was the center of this sandwich as he was met with bashes from both students before they knocked him aside.

With Kiba out of the way, Yang and Ren focused on each other, exchanging hits for hits. Yang, being the heavy hitter that she is, easily managed to over power Ren with a few good hits followed by an uppercut that sent him in the air. Ren tried to counterattack by tossing his leeks back at her, but she dodged and jumped up to give him a hard smack right down to earth.

Yang smirked as she landed on the ground, only to see Nora charging at her. After a few dodged from Nora's melon hammer, Yang charged in…only to be smacked so hard that she flew through the ceiling and into the sky.

Outside, Tiber was finally waking up and wiping the pie off his face before he noticed Yang flying up high in the sky.

"Okay…" Tiber quietly remarked as he finally stood up and ran back inside, ignoring Sun and a blue-haired individual next to him. When he did, he saw multiple soda cans flying towards the side of the room that he was in, exploding into colorful mists of soda.

"Tiber!" A familiar voiced called out as he was dodging soda cans. He looked to see his entire team taking cover from the soda-fall from behind a lunch table. Tiber quickly rushed over to cover, despite the amount of soda he was being sprayed on.

"So, I take it that I didn't miss much?" Tiber asked jokingly despite the situation that they are in.

"Not much. Pyrrha is using her Semblance to make a soda hurricane." His twin replied as Kiba then took a moment to peek, only to be smacked in the face by a soda can which exploded into soda.

"I-I don't think we have anything to take care of that." Kiba said as he wiped the soda off his face

Makoto then looked at the other side of the place to see Ruby charging at JNPR's side at fast speeds thanks to her Semblance., causing everything to follow her through the tailwind created by said speed.

"I have an idea. It's a bit drastic, but I'm gonna make the gamble." Makoto said as he looked at Kiba. "Kiba, shield the others! I'm going in!"

Kiba nodded as he then summoned his Orphnoch shield and covered himself and the twins before Makoto rush out and stood in Ruby's way. Said girl seemed to be confused what he was doing until Makoto was close enough to land a kiss on her lips, making her stop in her stead with widened eyes.

However, her shock was soon replaced with dismay as the tailwind of food and other objects swept her away while Makoto transformed his hands into Orphnoch claws while no one was looking and implanted them into the ground. He braced himself as several food came his way while Ruby and JNPR was blown into the wall, helpless as they were soon belt with several pieces of food, drinks, and whatever was swept up in the wind.

When it was all over, Makoto, Ruby, and JNPR were all covered in food and who knows what else.

"I sacrificed myself…for the greater good." Makoto dramatically said as he reverted his hands back to normal and fell down exhausted.

"I love these guys!" Sun exclaimed before looking at his blue-haired friend, Neptune, covered in Everyone Likes Grapes soda. Unlike the Monkey Faunus, Neptune seemed less than thrilled with what happened.

Before he can even say a word, an angry Glynda Goodwitch marched through the doors. She gritted her teeth as she then used her Telekinesis Semblance to start moving all the tables, utensils, food remains, etc. back to where they belong. Within a few moments, the cafeteria looked like as it was before the food war.

"Children, please." Glynda started with a strained voice. "Do not play with your food."

All three teams stared at her with Nora burping as her only reply before Yang flew back down to earth from the ceiling, causing everyone to laugh. Glynda looked like she really wants to give everyone a piece of her mind before Ozpin appeared and stopped her.

Makoto looked at the two adults, wondering what they were talking about before Ruby approached him.

"You know, that was a cheap trick to have me caught in my own attack." Ruby complained as Makoto chuckled.

"You're the one who took advantage of my tongue with that soup so I suppose we're even now." Makoto replied and Ruby noted this before thinking about something, which caused her to laugh.

"True, guess this means I don't have to pay you back on our date tonight."

"Hey!"

The two then laughed as they continued talking and waiting whatever punishment Glynda has prepared for them for the food fight.

(At Smart Brain HQ)

The CEO sighed as he was enduring an executive board meeting. While he does promote the Orphnochs' way of being the superior species, he does have to run a legitimate business to fund the experiments, forces, etc.

"And thus, looking back at our profits accumulated from our Mistral branch this year so far, I would say we're looking at a 10 percent increase within the rest of the period." One executive presented as the CEO looked down at the list of what has to go on for the company.

He then smiled as all the business stuff was now out of the way, they can now focus on the more serious stuff.

"Now then, with profits, finance, and products out of the way…we can now discuss the continued development of the Next Gen Rider Belts."

"Ah, yes." Links started as he then took control of the slideshow, replacing the current presentation with his own. The screen then displayed the Epsilon and Beta Gears. "While they have not been in active duty for long, the data feedback from them has given way to many possibilities. As a matter of fact, my team and I were able to upgrade the Alpha Gear."

"There are some concerns regarding who you assigned the belt to." One executive said. "Are you sure that she is up to the task?"

"She wouldn't be on Lucky Clover if she wasn't."

"I've reviewed her profile. I know how close she was to the target-."

"Our Beta candidate was just as close and we all know how bad he wants to kill him."

"And you think she'll feel the same?"

"Only one way to find out." He then looked at the security executive. "What is her status?"

"She's wrapping up on her current mission. She should be done soon."

The CEO smiled as he the meeting continued on.

(Meanwhile somewhere in Mistral)

In a secluded facility, armed masked men have been patrolling the hallways and everything seemed to be lockdown as normal.

With two guards guarding a door, one looked at another which caught the latter's attention. They then noticed one of their fellow guardsmen approaching.

"Hey, you need proper authorization to be here."

The approaching guard responded by shooting one of the door guardsmen to death, much to the other's shock.

"Hey! What the hell is your problem!?" The remaining guard aimed his gun but the attacking guard just fired anyways. The dying guard had his back against the wall and slid down before shooting the attacking guard, killing him instantly.

The dying guard sighed in relief that it was all over before finally giving in to his bullet wounds. Just then a young girl appeared from the nearby hallway corridor. She very light skin, eyes that are clear as the void, and dark blue hair. Her current attire consisted of a dark short sleeved collar shirt, a loose plaid tie, a plaid skirt, and tall light brown boots.

Attached to her wrists were braces with weapons attached to them. They appear to be a pata swords. However, instead of the traditional style of the sword extending a couple of feet past the knuckle, it was sticking on the forearms. The blades were like a mix of a European sword and a katana, with the flat side having a symbol of an arrow going through rings. Interestingly enough, at the bottom, where a part of the hard side was crescent/circular, it was also part firearm as evident by the medium gun barrel/muzzle with a revolver cartridge.

The irises in her eyes went from blank to blue and a smile crept up on her face.

"They always make things so much easier than they have to be." The girl said in an amused tone as she searched one of the dead door guardsmen. She pulled out a keycard and had it scanned in the nearby keypad. "And if that guy from earlier was telling the truth…"

She then inputted a code before the light above the door lit green and said door open itself.

"Alright, let's see what you're hiding here." The girl said to herself as she entered the room to find herself in front of a terminal of an office room. She approached it and started typing on it. She was filtering through the data, finding information on several factors. Some regarding Haven Academy, some regarding classified government projects, and finally some regarding the sightings of certain gray creatures. "And…bingo."

The girl placed a device on the computer itself and pressed a button on it. It started extracting everything before she heard footsteps. No doubt that her distraction had just failed and that soldiers were on their way. She readied herself as a squad of armed guards entered the room with rifles pointed at the Smart Brain agent.

"Stop right there! You are trespassing on government property! Surrender!" The leading soldier ordered.

The girl smiled as the device finished. She took the device and smiled casually.

"If you all came this way, you would've found the terrible mess I had to leave behind. That should tell you how I'm going to respond to that threat." The girl answered casually as the soldiers then opened fire.

The girl jumped up to the ceiling, allowing the gunfire to accidentally destroy the monitor. She then jumped back down to the center of the squad, slashing down three of them with her GunBraziers. She then fired the revolver parts of her weapons at a couple more. The leader and the remaining two guards placed their rifles away and took out stun batons.

They charged at the girl, with the latter only blocking the two lesser guards with the leader about to hit her. The girl then did a backflip, kicking the leader and landed in front of the doorway. She ran out with the three guards after her.

"I want this place locked down. No one gets in or out!" The leader shouted over the comms, causing the hall way in front of the girl to shut down.

"Damn it." She cursed as she took the nearby fire escape. She ran all the way up with the three soldiers right behind her tail. The Smart Brain agent soon found herself on the helipad roof with the three guards right behind her.

The girl looked downwards and saw a long drop considering this part of the facility was facing a cliff.

"Nowhere left to run now." The leader taunted as more guards soon appeared on the roof with weapons trained on the girl. "So, want to tell us what were you doing at the Mistral government Data Ops Center?"

"Oh my, you guys have such a nice view." The girl remarked, looking at the forests and mountains that lie ahead. She was almost ignoring the armed men pointing their weapons at her from behind. "I could just watch this forever. Unfortunately, I don't think you guys are going to have that pleasure…with the fires."

"What fires?"

The girl didn't say anything as she took out a small detonator. She immediately pressed the button and as a result…

BOOM! BOOM!

Several parts of the facility started to explode and leave much else to fires. During the chaos, the girl jumped off the building. She fell a few feet until she stabbed the cliff face with her blades. The girl looked up and smiled as she climbed down. She managed to run several feet away from the ruined facility while avoiding any search parties. When the coast seemed clear, she was able to get on her own comms.

"This is Mana. Data extracted and facility destroyed as requested." Mana reported.

"Wouldn't expect anything else." A deep voice from her earpiece replied. "Now report to corporate HQ. You're about to go on new assignment."

"Again? No breathers or relaxation. I didn't even have my celebration treat."

"Consider the mission objective your treat then."

"Oh?"

"You're going to reunite with that old flame of yours; Makoto Inui."

Mana's eyes widened as she thought back to when she was just a child brought into the Lucky Clover program.

(Years ago)

The young Mana was wiping her tears as Ashrei was comforting her. Makoto had just dealt with bullies that were assaulting the girl for being new. Soon, a recovering Makoto approached the two kids as he was rubbing his bruised cheeks.

"You didn't get punished too harshly, did you?" Ashrei asked.

"Just some injuries and I had my rations cut by half for a couple of weeks." Makoto replied as Mana continued crying.

"I-I'm sorry…I really shouldn't have dragged you into something like that." Mana said meekly, hoping that Makoto wouldn't be too mad at her for what happened.

Makoto said nothing and approached her. The girl closed her eyes and braced herself as she feared she would be assaulted again. Instead…she felt a very unfamiliar touch. The little girl finally opened her eyes and looked to see Makoto patting her head. She was honestly surprised as no one had ever touched her this way before. Her face was red and her heart was beating the fast too.

"It's alright. Those jerks really had it coming. You shouldn't blame yourself for stuff like that. Things are really harsh here and we don't need any more people adding to it." Makoto replied as Mana blushed as she seemed touched. No one acted this kind before ever since she was revived as an Orphnoch. "You're new to the facility?"

Mana nervously nodded.

"Y-Yeah, I was just brought in last week from Mantle in Atlas, so I don't know that many people…"

"Well, how about you get to know us then?" Ashrei smiled. "So far, it's just been me and this hothead here! Would be nice to have more friends."

"Hey, you're the hothead here! You started way more fights." Makoto replied back, causing both boys to chuckle. Mana smiled at the sight before she too giggled back at the whole scene.

Makoto and Ashrei then looked at Mana with soft smiles.

"My name is Makoto and this is Ashrei. What's yours?"

"You can call me Mana." Mana smiled as things were starting to look up for her in this dark facility.

(Present)

Mana was silent as her mind then re-entered the present.

"I understand." She replied to the comms with a blank tone in her voice. "You can send a ride in."

"Already did and it's been locked on to your beacon. Make your way to HQ for a briefing and pickup. After that, we're deploying you to the Kingdom of Vale ASAP."

Mana then heard noise and noticed a Smart Brain-banded Bullhead floating above her. The vehicle landed before Mana, causing her to immediately get in as soon as the doors opened. She took her seat as the vehicle took off in the air again.

'How long has it been since we last saw each other, Makoto? Over 10 years, was it? I'm sure you must have grown quite a lot. And gotten just as strong too.' Mana thought as she looked out the window. 'I want you to see how much strong I've gotten as well. Strong enough to take your heart.'

Mana's smile then grew sinister.

'And if anyone else has taken it. I'll put a stake through theirs…' Mana then started to chuckle to herself. 'I heard Ashrei was on this assignment as well so…all three of us are going to be together again. Oh, I cannot wait!'

(In Vale)

It was now night time and Emerald and Mercury were just coming back from their mission earlier ago. The hideout was just an abandoned warehouse with White Fang and Roman's goons moving crates of Dust. Leo was playfully sitting on one crate talking to Roman before they noticed the two.

"Oh, look! She sent the kids again! This turning out just like the divorce!" Roman just as he hugged the two before they pulled away from that.

"Spare us the thought of you procreating." Emerald said in disgust as she dusted off her outfit.

"That was a joke." Roman defended. "Speaking of which, Leo here has been killing me with one regarding what you two have been up to today."

"Did he?" Emerald asked, looking at Leo who was whistling playfully.

"He did. I had that under control." Roman replied sternly as Mercury stepped up.

"Two packed backs and a ticket out of Vale said otherwise." He snarked before looking at Leo. "And what about you? You've been our so-called 'friend' for a while now and you haven't done anything useful."

"Let's see what falls under my business; Smart Brain and Kamen Riders. A renegade book merchant doesn't fall under either of the two. It falls under the, 'Go fuck yourself' list." Leo snarked back, earning a chuckle from Roman.

Mercury was tempted to kick Leo before…

"Now, now…" A female voice started. Everyone looked to see Cinder on a platform before taking the lift nearby down to their level.

"Cinder!" Emerald looked really excited to see her.

"I thought I made it clear that you would eliminate the would-be runaway." Cinder said to Roman as she approached the group.

"I was going to…" Roman explained.

"He was going to escaped to Vacuo! Mercury and I decided to take it upon ourselves to kill the rat." Emerald explained, emphasizing certain parts.

"I think he was more of a cat, the more I think about it."

"What? Like a puma?"

"Yeah, there you go." Mercury nodded in agreement while Cinder looked at the two with a slightly scornful expression on her face.

"Quiet. Did I not specifically instruct you two to keep your hands clean while in Vale?" She asked and this unnerved her two lieutenants while Roman and Leo had amused faces with the former laughing.

"I-I just thought…"

"Don't think. Obey." Cinder emphasized as Roman taunted the two further by acting out a silent scene of having a throat slit with his finger. Cinder then turned to Leo, who didn't seem to be intimidated at all. "And you."

"Yes?"

"When we first met, you guaranteed that you can take care of our Smart Brain and Rider problem. But I've been seeing more Smart Brain shops open up around town, which means more of their troops and Orphnochs. Not to mention, these Riders that get sited assaulting them."

"They still haven't caught wind of your plan, whatever that is. I've been holding back that company and the Riders. Won't lie though, my plan may have hit a few snags with my partner betraying me." Leo said as he got off the crate and stood on his two feet. "But with my Orphnochs and the henchmen here, I've been holding both groups at bay so no one knows what's going on while Roman and his men take every single scrap of Dust there is in the Kingdom."

"Which is not an easy job!" Roman added.

"Oh yeah, clearly only a master at wearing a ski mask and holding a gun can make it work." Mercury snarked, getting a chuckle out of Emerald and Leo.

"Look around, kid. I've got this town running scared!" Roman boasted with confidence in his voice. "Police camping our at every corner, Dust prices through the roof, Smart Brain security bought out, and we're sitting pretty on an old warehouse with more Dust crystals, vials, and rounds than we know what to do with!" He then looked at Cinder. "Speaking of which, if you guys wouldn't mind filling me in your grand master plan, it might actually make my next string of robberies go a little smoother!" Roman clenched his fist at the last word.

"Oh, Roman. Have a little faith." Cinder walked up to him and placed a hand on his cheek. "You'll know what you need when you need to know it." Roman looked away from her as Cinder placed her hand away. "Besides, we're done with Dust."

"So, what now?" The criminal mastermind asked.

"We're moving. Have the White Fang clear out this building. I'll send you details and coordinates tonight." Cinder instructed before looking at Leo.

"Business as usual for me?" Leo asked.

"Not quite." Cinder started. "I know you're doing what you can against Smart Brain and the meddlesome Riders, which I can appreciate."

"Aw, and who says you can't be kind?"

"But I'm going to have to rely on your services for Phase 2. I'll send you the details later."

"Sweet, then I'm going to take care of a couple things real quick." Leo then walked away with an amused smile on his face.

Emerald approached Cinder with a skeptical expression.

"I don't trust him." Emerald plainly said to her leader.

"He has his uses."

"I know, but Smart Brain, Orphnochs, and Kamen Riders. We already have enough on our plate."

"And Leo here is to make sure to keep his portion of it. Besides, if he betrays us, we can take care of it ourselves. There's more of us and as far as I can see, his power is insignificant next to our combined power."

Emerald nodded at that reassurance. For now, she'll just keep a close eye on Leo in case he does something too suspicious. She did not come this far just for everything to be ruined to some freak of nature.

"Now then, it's time we deal with our own plans."

(With Makoto)

For MYTE, RWBY, and JNPR, their punishment for that food battle was a few days' worths of detention. It didn't seem so bad compared to how things turned out in said food battle. Everyone was pretty sure that Ozpin might've talked down Glynda, not that they were complaining.

Right now, for Makoto, he was currently in the middle of getting ready for his upcoming date with Ruby tonight. He had already showered and was currently changing. He picked a nice dark shirt, a short-sleeved military jacket, gray jeans, and a pair of dark converses.

"Getting ready for your date, huh?" Makoto looked behind to see Kiba enjoying a book on his bed.

"Yeah, Ruby wants her 'Best Day Ever' to end on a date between me and her. Who am I to argue?" He smiled.

"So, any certain plans for your date?" Kiba asked out of curiosity.

"There's a fair happening in celebration for the upcoming Vytal Festival. Should be a good opportunity there." Makoto said as he then shown off his outfit to Kiba since the twins were in the library with Tiber tutoring Echo. "What do you think? Look good?"

"You look great, dude." Kiba said as Makoto opened the door.

"Thanks, I'll be on my way then."

"Wait, I'm coming with you." Kiba said as he got off the bed and closed the book. "I gotta pick up some books from Blake."

"Come on then." Makoto said as he and Kiba left the room, now walking towards the RWBY dorm. "You've really been hanging out with Blake a lot the past couple of weeks."

"Well, ever since betraying the Dark Riders, I find myself with a lot of free time at hand. So, I have been doing a variety of hobbies to fill the void. Pleasure reading has been one of those things. Blake just so happens to be a huge fan in literature."

"So, you're pretty much reading buddies? That's it?" Makoto asked as he and Kiba stopped in front of the RWBY door.

"That's it." Kiba answered.

"So, I take it that means you're not going to ask her for the upcoming dance?"

Kiba then replied to that by knocking on the door, effectively dodging the question.

"You dick…" Makoto whispered to Kiba, causing the latter to chuckle in response.

"Coming!" Ruby's voice replied as the door opened, revealing the girl in short-sleeved black and red striped shirt, gray jacket, denim skirt, black tights, and short black boots. "Hey, guys!" She greeted.

"Hey, you ready?" Makoto asked as he offered his hand, which Ruby happily took.

"Don't close the door, I need to pick up something from Blake." Kiba said.

"Oh yeah, Blake mentioned something like that earlier ago. Go on in and ask her." Ruby replied as the couple soon walked away.

Kiba entered and saw an exhausted WBY sprawled all over the place with Yang on the floor, Weiss face-first in her bed, and Blake slumped against the bookcase.

"Blake?"

"Too much fun…Ruby…too tired now…" Blake got out as if she had been mortally wounded.

"I'm, uh, just here to pick up the books." Kiba said as Blake weakly pointed at the study desk. Kiba walked over to the desk and saw a small stack of books. The top book had a note with his name on it. Kiba took the small stack before noticing a notebook nearby. He saw Blake's name on it, recognizing the book from before. Kiba looked back to see the exhausted Faunus crawl onto her bed nearby.

Kiba took a small peek into it and saw various sketches and notes regarding the White Fang. The Orphnoch closed it and looked back at Blake with a worried expression before leaving.

(Later with Makoto and Ruby)

Makoto drove Auto Vajin with Ruby in the back as a passenger to the fair. He parked Auto as he and Ruby got off with the bike transforming into robot form.

"Master, if I may be so bold to request to explore the fair while you and Ruby go on your date." Auto asked with a small tone of excitement in his synthetic voice.

Makoto seemed to think about it for a bit before shrugging.

"Sure, I don't see why not. I'll just use my phone to signal you when it's time to leave." Makoto replied as Auto now looks excited.

"Thank you! Take care on your date!" The robot then rushed in there while Makoto and Ruby chuckled at the behavior.

"Maybe I should tweak his personality settings a bit." Makoto thought out loud to himself.

"Nah, I think he's alright the way he is." Ruby smiled as she then held Makoto's hand. The wandered on inside, looking a bit amazed on how active everything was. "And to think this is only going to be a sneak peek compared to the rest of the upcoming Vytal Festival"

"Truth be told, I'm actually kind of excited for it." Makoto admitted as Ruby looked at him with a curious expression. "Before being enrolled in Beacon, I wasn't one to go out a lot outside of Orphnoch activity or essentials. So, because of that, this is technically my first time going to a fair as well."

Ruby then had a very wide smile on her face.

"Oh man, then I can't wait to show you the kind of fun that can be had around in a place like this!" Ruby said as she then started dragging Makoto by the arm. "I used to go to these kinds of places a lot as a kid with me, Sis, Dad, and Mom. So, don't worry! Your girlfriend here has your back!"

"I-I'm, uh, looking forward to it." Makoto smiled, a bit caught offguard from Ruby, but he welcomed this.

Unknown to them., a hooded man was watching them from around the corner of a booth before getting on his earpiece. He was also recording the couple with his Scroll.

"Looks like our sources are right. Target is in sight." He noted.

(Outside the fair)

A black van adorning the Smart Brain logo from both sides. Ashrei was on the computer watching the recording live as several Smart Brain guards were getting prepped.

"Understood. Keep watching the couple and update us on their location and activity." Cole replied in the driver's seat as he looked back at Ashrei and…Mana, who had just arrived in Vale a couple hours ago. "You sure you don't need my help in securing take down the target."

"Don't worry about it. With the two of us here, taking down Makoto will be a piece of cake. Isn't that right, Mana?"

"…"

"Mana?" Ashrei looked at Mana, who was staring at the monitor intently. It wasn't the sight of her crush that caught her attention, it was whoever he was with. Mana has always been the calmest out of the three when they were kids, so seeing her like this was new to Ashrei.

Sensing such a dark aura around her, he wasn't even sure if he should be happy or fearful that she's primed like this.

"Ashrei…who's that little whore next to Makoto?" Mana asked in an aggressive tone of voice that she rarely uses.

"I, uh, don't know. Truth be told, I was only focused on Makoto." Ashrei replied. Truthfully, he's only ever been so focused on Makoto that he tends to forget everyone else associated with him.

"I've only been gone from his life for a few years and he goes gets himself a girlfriend!?" Mana asked with her voice raised before taking deep breaths. "No, no, it's fine. It's all fine. In just a few minutes, we're going to fix this problem. That's right, fix the problem." She then laughed to herself as the thought of killing this girl was now her new happy place.

Mana then grabbed a case with the Alpha symbol on it and started reading the user manual within.

(With Makoto and Ruby)

The two spent the majority of the night doing a whole assortment of activities. For starters, they went on a majority of the rides which included the roller coaster, Ferris wheel, and bumper cars. The couple would admit that they did get carried away a bit during their ride at the bumper cars.

They were constantly bashing into each other as they had made a bet regarding whoever hit the most people, the loser would have to pay for dinner. Unfortunately for Ruby, Makoto was the more experienced driver and had Ruby beaten by ten.

Ruby decided to raise the stakes by including dessert. Rather than another round of bumper cars, Ruby proposed a Shoot-A-Grimm Carnival Game. Feeling lucky, Makoto took the deal as he paid at the booth for him and his girlfriend. The carnival vendor handed the two their BB rifles as he started moving the miniature cardboard Grimm cutouts while starting a timer on his watch.

Makoto smirked as he started shooting the targets down with ease and precision. Granted, he did miss a couple of his targets but he felt confident about his score. He then turned to see how Ruby was doing and her progress made his jaw drop.

Ruby was not only taking down the targets faster, but she was also hitting each and EVERY one of them. Makoto didn't bother to comment or pay to go for another round. As soon as he remembered that he was dealing with sniper, Makoto realized that he never had a chance at winning this round. Ruby soon finished all her targets as she playfully rested the toy rifle on her shoulder.

"Wow, top score! Here's your prize!" The vendor said as Ruby traded her rifle for a Beowolf plushie. Ruby seemed playfully hugged it as she looked at her boyfriend with her tongue out, taunting him.

"Yeah, yeah…don't get so cocky." Makoto said as he gave his rifle back to the vendor. "We have a tie now. So, that means I still have a chance at a free dinner."

"Oh yeah, well then how shall we settle this then?" Ruby asked.

"Come on, we'll think of something." Makoto replied as the two just started walking around the fair now. "You know, despite the small competition we have between us, I'm really enjoying this date with you."

"Yeah. Same here." Ruby smiled as she used her free hand to hold Makoto's. The two then started walking around, talking about various things while looking for the perfect tiebreaker for their little competition.

Soon, their prayers were answered as they saw the fair's arcade with a Dance Dance Evolution arcade machine inside it.

"Now, this is a perfect tiebreaker," Makoto remarked as he and Ruby approached the machine.

"Do you play or dance much?" Ruby asked.

"Not really. But I can imagine you in the same boat, right?"

"You're not…entirely wrong." Ruby blushed a little in embarrassment. "Alright, let's play this as our tiebreaker."

This time, Ruby paid for enough tokens for one round. She inserted them into the machine as she and Makoto then got on the pads. They browsed through the song list and eventually came up with "Gold".

The two stared each other down playfully as the song started. They soon started dancing, stepping on the pad buttons as best as they can.

Meanwhile, the Smart Brain agent who was watching the couple approached a small food vendor stall. He was talking to the main guy in charge there before paying him enough money and whispering something in his ear.

"Okay, you have a deal." The vendor said as he took the money and left the area. The agent got on his earpiece and contacted the van.

"I have secured a proper ambush spot. Please send everyone." The agent reported.

(With Ashrei and Mana)

"Understood." Ashrei said as he looked back to the men. "Now remember, with Smart Brain making a rise in popularity in Vale, we can't afford to deface the public image."

"Fortunately for us, we have recorded enough of the recent robberies to recreate the look." Cole explained next as he opened up boxes of black suits with red ties and another box with red sunglasses and black fedoras. "I'll distract law enforcement while you guys take care of the target."

The goons quickly dressed up in their disguises and left as Ashrei was checking on Mana, who had just finished reading the Alpha Gear user manual.

"Shall we go and greet our old friend?" Ashrei asked with a sadistic smile while Mana just watched the monitor as the agent set up a new surveillance camera from the stall.

"Not yet. I want to see how much stronger Makoto has gotten…and to see what this girl can do." Mana replied as she wanted to study Ruby's moves and learn how to exploit them.

"Alright, fine. Those guys will probably just get in our way anyhow." Ashrei said as he went back to his original seat while Cole just sighed.

(With Makoto and Ruby)

The two had just finished the song and the score was surprisingly even.

"So…we'll…we'll just split the bill?" Ruby asked as she was regaining her breaths.

"Sounds…fine." Makoto answered, doing the same thing.

After wiping their sweat off, the two wandered into the food area while the Smart Brain agent noticed them.

"Target has just arrived." The agent said as the rest of the men got ready for an ambush.

"So, where do you want to go?" Makoto asked as he and Ruby scanned the area, noticed a lot of long lines for a lot of the stalls. They ten noticed the agent's stall, which was just about open again. "How about that one?"

"Hmmm…" Ruby read the sign, which appeared to be grill. "Okay, sure! Beats waiting in line for all the others."

Makoto nodded in agreement as the pair walked up to the stall and made their order. The agent pretended to comply before heading into the back. The two waited a while before the agent came back with the "goons", immediately putting the couple on edge.

"Here's your order." The agent said as he signaled the men to open fire on the two. They started firing their blasters, causing Ruby to grab Makoto by the arm and used her Semblance to get away from the shots and utilize a table as a makeshift barrier. Meanwhile, every bystander nearby started running for their lives as more goons emerged from the booth and opened fired.

Makoto quickly got on his phone and typed in a code before pressing Enter.

"AUTO VAJIN, COME CLOSER!"

Within a few seconds, Auto Vajin appeared flying in the sky and used his shield to open fire at the disguised goons. He managed to shoot a few of them down as Ruby got on her Scroll and used it to call forth her locker. It flew and landed next to her before opening up, revealing a folded up Crescent Rose.

Auto Vajin landed on the ground and took a few steps back before he was directly behind his master.

"Sir, their bio-scans. They're Orphnochs!" Auto reported, much to Makoto and Ruby's shock.

"Orphnochs! Then they're Smart Brain!" Makoto said as he grabbed one of Auto's motor handles to pull out the extra Faiz Edge he was working on in case his primary got destroyed. He revved up the handle, causing the blade to heat up while Ruby readied Crescent Rose in its rifle mode. She got out of cover and started firing while Makoto charged.

He deflected the shots off his sword before cutting down a couple of them. He kicked one away before blocking another goon's Axel Ray Gun. Makoto pressed the brake, causing the excess heat in the blade to activate, allowing the young man to cut through the weapon before cutting its wielder down.

"Where are the cops!?" Ruby wondered as she and Auto were giving supporting fire.

(Meanwhile not too far from the fair)

There were two empty police cars with the Tiger Orphnoch making short work of the four policemen. He grabbed one by the neck and immediately snapped it before tossing the corpse away.

He created and launched a blue fireball at another before charging for the remaining two, who are now just trying to stay as far as possible while shooting the beast.

"Why did I have to be the distraction?" The Tiger Orphnoch thought out loud to himself as he was a bit frustrated that he had to give his target to the two Lucky Clover members while he plays decoy. But on the upside, at least he was getting some training done as the shots weren't doing much for him.

The Tiger Orphnoch only cracked and prepped his claws as he got to work on the remaining survivors.

(With Makoto and Ruby)

Soon every civilian was gone as the head agent noticed this before smirking and placing on his Riotrooper belt.

"Men!" He ordered as every one of them followed suit before sliding the devices into the belt slots.

"Henshin!"

"COMPLETE!"

They soon transformed into Riotroopers and Makoto only seemed annoyed along with Ruby, who stepped up to join him with Crescent Rose in scythe mode. Auto Vajin stepped up as well with his shield ready.

"You know, this was supposed to be the 'best day ever' and now look what you've done. Getting my favorite girl and I all angry now. Guess we just have to teach them some manners, right?" Makoto asked Ruby as he reached into his jacket and pulled out his belt.

"Yeah, let's show them how rude it is to interrupt a date!" Ruby smiled as Makoto opened his phone again and inserted a certain code.

"STANDING BY!"

"Henshin!"

"COMPLETE!"

Red neon lines surrounded Makoto's body before he transformed in Faiz, who soon flickered his hand.

Both he, Ruby, and Auto charged at the group of Riotroopers, Ruby was cutting through her share of the Smart Brain, spinning her scythe around her form and cutting any unfortunate enemy that came her way. She implanted the blade onto the ground and started firing at a couple of the recovering Riotroopers, putting them down for good.

The scythe-wielding girl then turned to noticed a Riotrooper about to charge at her from behind. She grabbed a funnel cake from a nearby table and threw it at the man's face, getting cake all over his visor. He tried to wipe it off quickly, only for Ruby to kick him into the nearby booth.

Auto Vajin charged a Riotrooper into a wall and finished him off, by firing his shield's turret into the man's gut. The robot then turned and saw another charging at him with his shortsword out. Auto immediately threw his shield at him, landing a direct hit in the face before the shield flew back to the robot.

Soon two more Riotroopers tried blasting the robot, but the shots didn't seem to have much effect on Auto.

"I apologize for the inconvenience, but you must learn the price for ruining such a public event." Auto scolded as he walks up to the two goons and smashed their heads together, knocking them out.

For Faiz, he slashed through one Riotrooper before pulling out his phone, typing on it, and transforming it to gun mode.

"BLASTER MODE!"

He shot a couple of Riotroopers before stabbing another that was trying to charge him. Faiz sighed as he placed his blaster back into his belt.

"Damn it, this is why I can't go into town while feeling a bit paranoid!" Faiz remarked before blocking another's attack. The two locked blades before another Riotrooper joined in on this. The two Smart Brain goons managed to push Faiz up against the wall of a stall before a third Riotrooper shot Faiz multiple times from the side.

"Makoto!" Ruby then went into the scene as she fired Crescent Rose at the two close Riotroopers, allowing Faiz to take advantage of their staggering by cutting them down.

"I've had enough." Faiz said as he took out the Mission Memory from his belt and replaced it with the one from his Axel Watch.

"COMPLETE!"

At the sound of that, Faiz went into his Axel form while the remaining Riotroopers looked surprised as they were not aware of this new form. Faiz then pressed a button on his watch.

"START UP!"

The timer started counting down as Faiz then, placed his Mission Memory into his sword, opened his phone, and pressed Enter.

"READY!"

"EXCEED CHARGE!"

The blade lit up red as Faiz ran as a black and white blur, cutting down all the active Riotroopers in the area, leaving a red Phi sign on all of them.

"3! 2! 1!"

"TIME OUT!"

Faiz resumed normal speed as all the remaining active Riotroopers exploded into blue flames and sand.

"DEFORMATION!"

Faiz went back to his normal form as Ruby and Auto ran up to him while all the remaining wounded Riotroopers retreated, some of them were even carrying their knocked-out comrades.

"Damn, I didn't think Smart Brain would be this bold to disguise themselves like this." Faiz remarked as taking on Roman's goons' looks wasn't their calling card.

"Well, at least it's over." Ruby consoled before Beta stepped out from the shadows.

"I wouldn't say that." Beta said as the three got on their guard again.

"Ashrei…" Faiz recognized as he readied himself while Beta didn't seem to be concern.

"How rude, Makoto. You're not even going to say hi to our dear old friend?" Beta asked, immediately confusing Faiz.

"Old friend?" Faiz asked as Mana stepped out of the shadows, wearing a black and red belt with a soft smile on her face.

Faiz almost dropped his weapon in shock as his eyes widened beneath the visor, confusing Ruby a bit.

"M-Mana…?"

"Long time no see, Makoto." Mana smiled cheerfully as she then eyed Ruby, confusing the silver-eyed girl a bit as she felt a dark aura from her. "So…this is the one who stole you from me, huh?"

Mana pulled out a black and red belt, much like Beta's before placing it on.

"That's alright. I'm going to fix this problem in a minute." Mana assured as she out a black and red phone with the Alpha symbol on it. She opened it and typed a few buttons before pressing the Enter button.

"STANDING BY!"

"Henshin…" She smiled as she swiped her right arm across, raised, and placed it back down, inserting the phone into the slot and pushing it into the buckle.

"COMPLETE!"

Dark red neon lines surrounded Mana's body before she was engulfed in a huge light. Within a few seconds, the light died down and revealed a new figure. She had a black body suit with dark red neon lines, dark shoulderpads that were designed much like Faiz's, a silver chestplate with a small red Alpha symbol on the top, and a helmet that shared Faiz's mouth piece but had a red compound eye on the left side and a telescopic eyepiece on the right with a red V on the forehead. This was Kamen Rider Alpha.

Alpha then took out her GunBrazier and hooked them on before opening her phone and pressing a button.

"READY!"

Her suit then powered up the weapons, allowing them to adapt a dark and red look to match the suit while the blades themselves lit up red in a similar fashion to Faiz's sword.

"I hope you're ready, Makoto." Beta remarked as he took out his chakrams as Alpha growled at the sight of Ruby.

"G-Guys…" Faiz let out in surprise as his two former best friends charged at him and the others.

AN: And that about does it! I wanted to write and upload this chapter for a while now, but things have been hectic for me since the new year started. Hopefully, things might start to settle down a bit so I'll probably have more time to write. At least, more so than usual.
