Sam is collecting soil samples, Daniel is collecting rocks and showing them
to Teal'c, who is looking interested. So how does our gallant Colonel pass
the time on a tame planet like this? No natives to annoy. No wild beasties
from which he must protect his beloved team.
"I'll do my recon, folks. Back in one hour. Keep in touch. Be good."
"Yeah, Jack. Off you go and keep out of trouble."
"No trouble here, Danny-Boy. Anyway, trouble is your department."
Dead on time, Jack comes back. The sun is nicely warm and it's a beautiful day. The team are really busy. Interesting soil and interesting rocks. Apparently.
"Recon went well."
"Great, Colonel."
"Anyone need anything?"
"I believe we have all the equipment we need, Oneill"
"Sweet. I'll just sit over here then. By this tree."
"Great, Sir."
Jack takes his laptop out of this pack. Reports? Nah, too boring. The others are real busy - they won't see what he's writing. So, Jack starts to type.
But the sun is warm and he stops for a moment to think and leans back against the tree. Mmm. Nice here. Maybe they could build a holiday cabin.
And so, gentle snoring sounds begin to emanate from the brave and fearless Colonel.
Except the sounds aren't really that quiet.
"MajorCarter is there something wrong with Oneill? He appears to be having some difficulty breathing."
"Oh my, Guys, he's fallen asleep! Doesn't he look sweet!"
They creep over without waking the sleeping beauty. Oh, the advantages of military training! Daniel notices the text on the screen of the laptop, which has slipped onto the ground. So, Daniel picks it up.
"What's he been writing, Sam? It doesn't look like a report."
The sound of Daniel's voice wakes the Colonel up.
"Laptop, Daniel. Mine. Give."
"Wait a minute. This is a STORY. You're writing a STORY." Daniel cannot control his glee. "Lemme read it!"
"No, Daniel, it's not finished!" Was our valiant Colonel panicking?
"Catch, Sam."
"Hey, sir, who is MacGyver? Wasn't he in some TV show?"
"Give me that, Carter, that's an order."
"No way...sir. Catch Teal'c!"
Teal'c catches the laptop easily, but doesn't understand the game that is now being played out. He gives it back to O'Neill. But it is too late. The news is out.
"You write stories about TV shows, Jack?"
Jack O'Neill is now just about as red as it is possible to get.
"Fan Fiction," he mutters, "I get bored while you're all working."

That's all folks.
Tell me what you think. Good, bad or indifferent - I need feedback.
