Natural Woman

Lucas was pacing the apartment as Adrian looked on, resting his chin on his hand and shaking his head exasperatedly at his friend every time the blonde man turned to glare at him. Every time he had tried to calm him down, Lucas had just shouted about Adrian's betrayal and paced faster. It was all Adrian could do to hide his smile from his friend. He just kept going on and on…

"And what are you laughing at?! This is serious!"

Adrian boosted himself off of the desk he had been lounging against and went to his friend.

"I know," he said, taking hold of his friend's shoulders. "But you're not letting me explain."

"What is there to explain? You knew how I felt about her!"

Adrian tried to bite back his smile as he leaned his head against the other man's chest. He felt Lucas squirm a little in his grip but he didn't pull away, something Adrian took as a positive. He laughed, a tiny hysterical-sounding chuckle.

"Yes, I did. And I knew how she felt about you too."

"What are you talk—"

That's when Adrian surged up to smother his friend's mouth with his own. They stayed that way for a moment, Adrian on his tiptoes leaning heavily against his friend and Lucas standing there, not reciprocating but not pulling away either. Eventually Adrian pulled away, his eyes searching Lucas' for some understanding. Lucas let out the breath he seemed to have been holding.

"What was that about? You and me…"

Adrian laughed in his face, pulling away finally to scrub his face with his hands.

"How can such a smart man be so dumb?"

"Hey! I'm just a little confused that my friend whom, considering I saw him in here with the girl I love, I'm reasonably sure is straight is trying to make out with me!"

Adrian sighed exasperatedly. He grabbed Lucas' hands and pressed them against his chest. Lucas' eyes widened.

"Adrian, what are you…" he squeezed experimentally. Lucas looked at his friend with wide eyes. "Are those…do you have…"

Adrian reached up around his friend's arm to remove his glasses. He saw the realization dawning slowly in Lucas' face. Lucas moved his hands up to cup Adrian's face.

"You? This whole time?"

Cybersix smiled softly.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know if I could trust you."

"And now you're sure?"

Cybersix smiled again and reached up to pull Lucas' lips to hers. Lucas held his love to him as he had the first time they met. Cybersix buried her face in Lucas' neck happily. They stayed like that for a few minutes before Lucas pulled away.

"Wait, if you and Adrian are the same person then who were you talking to?"

"Um…" Cybersix looked over Lucas' shoulder to see Data7 peering through the window questioningly. Speak of the devil…

"That's kind of a long story…"
