A/N: Long time no see. It's been a year.

Thank you for all the favorites/follows/reviews even in an absence of an update!

Reiji now refers to Lily as Komori-san/Miss Komori lol sorry for the inconsistencies.

Chapter 17

All the brothers, save for Subaru, who was still wallowing in regret, noticed when Lily was no longer in the estate. The first one to bring up the fact that Lily disappeared was Kanato. He found Ayato laying on the couch, reading manga. Kicking him, the panda-eyed boy said, "Cookie-chan's smell disappeared."

Without looking up from his manga, Ayato remarked, "It was that butler huh…" He clicked tongue and turned a page of his manga. There was no way that Lily could have escaped that quickly, but Ayato didn't want to believe it. "To be honest, ore-sama didn't expect that from him." Finally, the tomato-head closed his manga and set it down on the coffee table. He got up with resolve. "Ore-sama's going to beat his ass."

"That old man. So he betrayed us…" Kanato said, a sinister look growing on his face. "Just like everyone else…"

Ayato scoffed. "Come on, Kanato. You'd think he'd be loyal? None of them are like that. In the end, they'll side with that bastard."

At that moment, Laito as well as Reiji, with a phone in his hand, walked into the room. "Tobias is apparently trying to ransom Bitch-chan." Laito said, with a light laugh. "Imagine that."

Reiji set the phone on the table and turned the speaker on. Ayato spoke first. "What. THE. HELL, TOBIAS! You better stay put when ore-sama heads over there to smack you! The girl is MINE. "

"Ayato-sama, with all-due respect, I will return Yui-san once you satisfy my conditions." Tobias replied, with firm tone.

The red-head looked like he was about to explode. "YOU—you dare to speak to ore-sama like this!? Know your place, you servant!"

Shuu suddenly appeared in front of Ayato and pushed him back from assaulting the phone. "Why are you doing this, Tobias?" he asked. Met with silence, Shuu sighed. "What do you want?"

"Your estate. Give it up, and I'll return Yui-san to you all." Instantly, the brothers were displeased. Sure, their estate was given to them because they were essentially kicked out by their father, but they've lived in the mansion for almost half of their lives. They wouldn't admit it, but it meant something to them, even with the scarring memories from their childhood.

"You're really wishing for death aren't you, Tobias?" Laito said, a malicious smirk on his face.

"This place doesn't really much to ore-sama but the fact you're trying to take it annoys ore-sama! You're not getting away with this, Tobias!" Ayato growled.

"Tobias, we're not giving you the estate. Period. If you want the jewels, then take them. But you must release, Komori-san, for she is our beloved guest." Reiji put emphasis on the last part.

"Then, I don't believe we have a deal." Tobias said. Sounds of metal, grainy and unclear, but still audible, were heard in the background. "I feel sorry for Yui-san, but she'll have to undergo some…damage to make up for this conclusion. Unfortunate, really." All the brothers stiffened, and Ayato grabbed the phone.

"OI YOU FUCKI—"Ayato raged, but the butler hung up on him. Anger was building up in all the brothers in the room.

"Now, now, there's only one person that can torture Cookie-san." Kanato said. "Right, Teddy?"

"It's me ~." Laito said. Kanato gave him a look of disdain.

"No, you idiot, it's obviously ORE-SAMA! Ore-sama's gonna find him and KILL him." Ayato declared, teleporting away.

"Shit." Shuu face-palmed, when the fiery red-head vanished. "That dumbass."

"I can't let Ayato-kun get to Cookie-chan first. Right, Teddy?" Kanato teleported. With a chuckle, Laito followed as well. Shuu, at this point, gave up effort in stopping these triplets. As for Reiji, he honestly couldn't give a damn, and started to make his way back to his room to continue with his experiments.

"What's Subaru doing? I thought he'd be worried the most about Komori Yui." Shuu asked.

Reiji didn't like talking to his older brother but he paused, his back facing Shuu, and said, "I don't know. Why don't you ask him?" And walked away. Shuu wrinkled his eyebrows, and then sighed.

"Guess I should follow these idiots to make sure they don't do anything stupid." He said to himself. "But first…what's the idiot baby brother doing?"

When Reiji proceeded on with his experiments, he felt impatient, and couldn't keep his knee from bouncing up and down. As he tried to pour one liquid from the beaker into a test tube, he almost spilt the concoction due to his shaky hands. He took off his gloves and goggles, and sat there for a moment. What was wrong with him today? Ever since he couldn't smell Lily's scent anymore, something within him felt perturbed. That girl is just fodder; what am I concerned about? It seems that even though they were opposing species, Lily's presence on the boys left an impression on their minds. If she wasn't there, something didn't feel right to them; like a puzzle piece missing from a jigsaw puzzle. A body without a heart. A s'more without the chocolate. Her absence left a void, and the air felt cold.

Reiji knew this. So he left.

"…big brother?"

Subaru froze. Christa was mistaking him for that bastard Karlheinz again.

"Oh big brother, I love you." She said lovingly. Subaru cringed and wanted to punch something.

"I'm not him! I'm Subaru, your son!" He shouted, irritated, and then immediately regretted it when he saw the expression on his mother's face.

Christa's loving face fell. "Subaru…?" She seemed to be overtaken with a sudden madness, and grabbed onto Subaru.

"Subaru…kill me! Just kill me already!"

A small Subaru with tears in his eyes, clutches the knife his mother gave him behind his back.

"N-no…I can't, mother..." He cried, feeling the pressure she was pushing on him growing by the second. He struggle out of her grasp and ran away.

"Subaru! Subaru, you—you dirty scoundrel! I should have never given birth to you!" She screamed.

Everything started to spin around Subaru, his mother, her voice, everything, until it was black.

But even then, he could still see a small ray of light. He saw her smile. Yui.

Subaru woke up with cold sweat. It was still nighttime. Suddenly, the events of the night came rushed back to him. Lily ran away from him, crying. He could only helplessly see her go, and he felt so inexplicably empty and guilty inside. Why did I do that to her? We were doing so well…doing so well? He furrowed his eyebrows and ran his hand through his hair. Doing well in what? Nothing would ever go well between us; she's human and you're a blood-sucking disgrace, Subaru!

Then, Subaru froze. Where was Lily? He sensed that she wasn't here at the estate at all, leaving only her lingering scent behind. Did she run out because of him? The guilt felt even heavier. He heard a knock on his door.

"Hey." Said Shuu, leaning on the doorframe. "You're not gonna chase after the triplets to save Komori?"

Subaru widened his eyes. So that was it. "Where is she?" he asked, standing up. "Who did it?"

"Tobias. But who knows? How many different places can he bring her to?" Shuu shrugged.

"Whatever, I'll find out." Subaru teleported.

Shuu, seriously debating whether or not to just go back to his room and sleep or actually go stop his selfish brothers. He sighed. "What would they do without me...?" He reluctantly teleported away.

Feeling a damp, cold feeling on her cheek, Lily opened her eyes. She was lying on old, sewer-looking pavement. Gross. Not a suitable sleeping spot. When she tried to sit up, she felt her wrists and ankles bound together. "What the crap?" She spoke out loud, and then remembered how she got abducted. "Oh…that dang creepy butler!"

"I see you're feeling just fine, Komori-san." Tobias commented. Lily looked over to her side, where he was sitting in a chair. What was on the wall beside him gave her chills. Metal cuffs that would only fit a human's wrist and ankle, were attached to the wall, as well as chains hanging off of them. Lily gulped. Oh god, please don't tell me this is a torture chamber.

"O-oh, hello, Tobias-san. How n-nice it is to see you." She tried to sound cheery.

Tobias looked grim. "Spare me. I have no time to waste. The Sakamakis seemed unwilling to compromise with me." He said and then paused, with a slight sympathetic look. "Isn't that pitiful? They don't care enough about you."

Lily felt a small pang in her heart. What was I expecting? Of course we aren't really that close…and if I'm not there, it's not like it'll affect them anyway. She quickly suppressed it.

Lily stared at Tobias. "Why are you doing this? Aren't you loyal to the Sakamakis? Or at least that was the impression I was getting."

Tobias stayed silent, but his expression looked pained for a split second. "It's not something you should be concerned about." He suddenly flicked his wrist and the ropes binding Lily's wrists and ankles were cut. He pulled her off the ground before she could do anything to retaliate against him.

"Wha—wait what the hell! Let go of me!" She struggled against his grip and tried to kick him. Tobias lifted her chin up towards him, and said, "Stop moving." Lily suddenly lost control over her limbs, staying completely still as Tobias dragged her towards the wall of doom.

"S-stop!" Lily cried out uselessly; her body wouldn't heed to her will. Damn vampire manipulation!

"I'm sorry but I have to do this." The butler looked regretful as he strapped her to the wall. "For Michiko and Kara." He whispered under his breath.

Even through Lily's panic, she paused and said, "Huh? You said what? Michiko and who? Are they your family? Is that why you're doing this?" She needed to hold off her torture for as long as possible. Tobias is a pretty reasonable man…this could work out.

Tobias hesitated. "…my wife, Michiko. My daughter, Kara."

"What happened, Tobias? Are they okay? Who is forcing you to do this?"

"He…he threatened to hurt them."

"…Karlheinz?" All of sudden, Tobias clutched his head in pain.

"Stop…don't ask me anymore. I've already said too much." He panted.

"Uhm, sorry." Lily said. Dang, he even put a curse on his speech? It's gotta be Karlheinz. "Tobias, we can work something man. You don't want to do this either, right? I'll help you kick Karlheinz's ass. J-just…lemme drag those brothers into the fight."

Tobias grimaced. "…he ordered me that I had to injure you if they didn't comply. And I have to bring you to him."

"Okay," Lily took a deep breath. "I know you're concerned about your family, and we'll make sure they won't get hurt, alright? But we don't have to do this." She gave him a small smile, which she hoped looked less nervous and more hopeful.

Tobias said nothing. Out on the table, he started to lay out some weapons. Lily looked away, her heartbeat quickening. She shut her eyes, willing it all to be a dream. No. NO. NO! Please, ANYONE! HELP ME! The butler picked up a whip.

"No hard feelings, Komori-san."

Lily had never felt so much pain in her life. Not the succubi incident, and not even the blood-sucking episodes with the Sakamakis could compare the physical turmoil she was in. The whip lashed at her skin and burned her body. Tears streamed down her face, as she shrieked for him to stop.

Tobias knew what he was doing was horribly monstrous. But he knew he needed to do this to get the Sakamakis here and riled up. He didn't know why Karlheinz would go so far to want to rile his children up, but Tobias was desperate so he accepted. That disgusting man had threatened to hurt his family; how could he just step back and let it be? His girls were beacons of light in his stormy life; they gave meaning to his life, and he would do anything to save them.

Suddenly, there was a huge blast, and the walls caved in. Lily screamed as she collapsed to the ground. Amongst the rubble, dust, and filtering of light, she could see six distinct silhouettes. She couldn't help but give a smile of relief before passing out.

The sight and smell of Lily's blood enraged all six brothers and made them lash out at Tobias. He saw them charging at him, and he realized that his life would end here.

"DAMN YOU TOBIAS!" Ayato reached Tobias first and smashed him through the rubble. Before any of the other brothers could inflict further damage on him, someone chuckled behind them.

"That is some fine rage there, boys." A long white-haired man in a black cloak walked closer to them. All of the boys were stunned. Karlheinz. ~end

A/N: Well. That was quite the chapter. I usually have outlines for my chapters, but as I write, it always ends up turning into something a little different.

Hope you guys enjoyed it! (mwahaha, nah I'm just kidding) I know this chapter is kind of a mess; still trying to come back into this whole fanfic-writing thing. Oh by the way I started a fanfiction writing blog on tumblr! It's called fanwrimo! Check it out if you have time!

How are you guys doing? It's summer vacation for me, so I'm looking forward to sleeping in and playing tennis! Also, just walking around and exploring. J
