Gardenia shook in fear as she looked at the two Pokémon before her. Nothing frightened her more than what was before her and she wanted to know why they were even there to begin with

"J-James! How could you catch these two?!" questioned the Grass-type Gym Leader.

The blue-haired Rocket rubbed the back of his head in nervousness. "Well, I like Grass-types. You know that, Gardenia. So while I was in Kalos, I caught them."

"B-But they're Ghost-types!" cried Gardenia as she now hid behind James.

It was true. The two Pokémon James had caught were Phantump and Pumpkaboo, two Pokémon that were both a combination of Ghost and Grass. Gardenia always feared of a possibility of such a Pokémon existing and now that there were two of them, her fears grew immensely.

"Phantump…"

"Pumpkaboo…"

The Vivid Plant Master gave out a startled squeak as she hid further behind James. "C-Couldn't you have c-caught a different Grass-type?"

"But I thought these two were interesting. They're not that bad, Gardenia," stated James, only to get a whimper from her. "Plus my Inkay seems to like them."

"They're still scary!"

James let out a few chuckles before he motioned the two Ghost-types over. As they floated over, Gardenia let out another whimper as she gripped the back of James' shirt even tighter.

"Just give them a chance, Gardenia," said James with a smile.

With James' encouragement, Gardenia stepped out from behind him, albeit hesitantly. Once out in the open, she slowly reached out her hand to pet Pumpkaboo and Phantump. The two Pokémon crooned happily at the attention they were getting from the Gym Leader.

"…I guess they're not that bad," said Gardenia. "They're actually a little cute, now that I'm used to them."

James gave off a smile in satisfaction. "I thought you would like them. So I guess this means you're fear of the Ghost-type is gone now?"

Gardenia went tense at that. "N-Now I d-didn't say that! Ghost-types are still very scary. Phantump and Pumpkaboo are the only exceptions."

James could only sweatdrop at his girlfriend's words as he watched her continue to interact with Phantump and Pumpkaboo. He made a mental note to make sure she never found out that he had a Yamask. Oh well, at least some progress had been made that day.

I'm surprised no one else had done something like this already, considering Gardenia's worry over possible Ghost/Grass-types is a big part of her character.

And yes, I do know James does not have either Phantump or Pumpkaboo and only has Inkay so far in the Kalos Arc. Let's be honest though, he's going to get one of them later on. He always gets a Grass-type and since the only the Grass-types introduced in Gen VI are the Chespin line (most likely going to be Ash's), the Skiddo line (already Alexia's), the Phantump line, and the Pumpkaboo line, it's basically narrowed down to one of the latter two of being under James' ownership.

Anyway, this probably won't be the last GrassLoveshipping one-shot I make. I do have a few more ideas for some and someone needs to post more for it. Anyone with a brain knows that this pairing makes more sense than freakin' Rocketshipping.
