A/N: I had originally planned on having this chapter and the next as one whole chapter.

Chapter 14

"MURDER!" Ginny yelled before letting off a very colorful sting of curses that would've had Molly threatening to wash her mouth out with soap.

"I'm afraid so." Tonks said. "Fudge is trying to claim that Harry snapped and attacked his uncle."

"If that's the case then the ministry should be giving him a medal instead of a cell in Azkaban." Daphne said. Before she could continue a patronus in the shape of a lynx came through the wall.

"Tonks don't take Harry to the Ministry, Albus wants him at Headquarters." The Lynx said in a deep voice before disappearing.

"Well I guess you're coming with me." Tonks said. She fished out a small scrap of parchment from her robe pockets. "Here read this."

Harry took the parchment from Tonks. The message said The Headquarters for the Order of The Phoenix is at Number 12 Grimmauld Place.

"Got it Harry? Then let's go." Tonks said.

"Hold on we're coming with you." Pansy said as she took the parchment from Harry. As soon as she was done reading it, the slip was burned.

The six of them stepped out of the floo (Tumbled out in Tonks' case) and into a dark and depressing house. It was almost impossible to ignore the umbrella stand made from a troll's leg and the mounted house elf heads. Sirius was standing there waiting for them. Harry was offered a hand by a dark skinned man.

"Thanks." Harry said as he was helped off of the floor.

"Dammit Potter!" came the gruff voice of Mad-Eye Moody. "What if Kingsley here was a Death Eater? You need to be prepared for anything. Maybe you could drill constant vigilance into him Black." He said to Sirius as he came out of the kitchen. Moody Tonks, and Kingsely entered the Kitchen leaving Sirius alone with the new arrivals.

"Welcome everyone to the ancestral home of the Noble and Most Noble House of Black." Sirius said sarcastically. "This is where I grew up, until I ran away. Here, I'll show you where you'll be staying."

As Sirius led them up the main staircase, Pansy's shoulder accidently brushed up against a set of curtains.

"FILTHY BLOOD TRAITORS AND HALF BLOODS DESECRATING THE NOBLE HOUSE OF BLACK!" A shrill voice screamed.

"SHUT IT YOU OLD HAG!" Sirius yelled at the portrait "Sorry about my dear old mum."

Their rooms were on the 2nd and 3rd floor of Grimmauld Place. Pansy would be staying on the 2nd floor. Sirius gave her a wink and mentioned something about remembering to use the right charms. The rest of the Potters would be staying in the master bedroom on the 3rd floor. The room was decorated in the traditional green and silver. There was a large King-sized four post bed at one end of the room on the opposite side the Black family coat of arms and its motto of "Toujours Pur" was placed prominently on the wall.

"This was my parent's room and is normally used by the Lord and Lady of the house of Black and since I'm not using it, I figured the next Lord and Lady could." Sirius said.

While Sirius was showing the others to their room, Pansy entered the 2nd floor bedroom. It was obviously one of many guest rooms. The first thing she noticed was that the room only contained a pair of twin beds separated by a single nightstand. The second thing she noticed was the person who she would be sharing this room with.

"Let Mrs. Weasley know that I'll be down shortly Ron." Hermione said.

"Should I be worried that I'm not the first person My Girlfriend thinks of when somebody walks into her room?"

"Pansy!" Hermione cried as turned around and began to snog her girlfriend who see hadn't seen since getting off the Hogwarts Express at the end of last term.

"Pansy…Pansy wait we can't. Mr. and Mrs. Weasley are staying in the room next to us." Hermione said when they finally pulled apart for air.

"Don't worry about that." Pansy said. She took out her wand she cast several charms at the bedroom door. "Silencing charms. Now where were we?"

Meanwhile in the Kitchen…

The entirety of the Order of the Phoenix was assembled in the kitchen.

"I've managed to convince Cornelius to rescind the warrant but I fear the cost may have been too high." Albus Dumbledore. "I've been forced to give up my position as Supreme Warlock and I've been barred from the courtroom tomorrow."

"Do you think you-know-who was behind the attack?" a member asked. "

No, The Dark Lord was just as surprised to learn of it as we were." Snape said. "He believes that someone is trying to discredit Potter and has ordered his most trusted followers to not interfere."

"Well I suppose that's a bit of good news that the dementors aren't under his control." Tonks said.

"Good news?" Moody scoffed. "While they might not be under You-know-who's control they are taking orders from someone who is just as psychotic."

While the Order members were busy discussing the latest bit of news, Albus Dumbledore was deep in thought. If the hearing tomorrow didn't go well, Harry could be arrested or expelled. If that happened, Harry would be vulnerable to Voldemort's forces and the wizarding world would be doomed. He'd have to move his plans up quickly.

Later that night….

Harry sat in bed waiting. Ginny and Cho were in the master bathroom getting ready for bed when Daphne entered the room holding a gift wrapped package in her hands.

"Here I thought you could use your birthday present a little early." she said. Harry opened up the package, revealing a new set of formal dress robes with the crest of the house of Potter on the right breast, "You'll need those for tomorrow since you'll be representing a most noble and ancient house in front of the Wizengamot. I talked to my father before I got those robes from the manor. The hearing is at 8 o'clock in courtroom ten."

"Well it was nice enough of them to tell me." Harry said sarcastically.

"Dad thinks that Fudge purposely kept the information from you so you wouldn't have a chance to defend. Yourself. Now let's get some sleep we need to up early tomorrow."

The next morning, Harry and Daphne stepped out of the floo in the Ministry's atrium drawing the attention of the crowd of witches and wizards who were waiting to enter. Many of them glared at the couple as the cut the line.

"Names." Said the wizard sitting at the check in desk without looking up from the piece of parchment in front of him.

"Lord Harry Potter and Daphne Greengrass." Daphne said.

"Potter yeah right and I'm the…" HE started but stopped himself when he looked up and saw the scar on Harry's forehead. "S-Sorry You're wanted in courtroom ten."

Harry and Daphne made their way to the lifts pausing only to stop at the Fountain of Magical Brethren to toss a couple of galleons in. Daphne had explained to Harry earlier that all of the money thrown into the fountain was sent to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. As they stepped out of the lift the two saw Lucius Malfoy and Minister Fudge discussing something in hushed tones. As soon as they saw Harry and Daphne, they stopped talking and separated.

"Here's where I leave you." Daphne said. "I'll be in the crowd and helping you over the bond."

The courtroom was already filled with the entire Wizengamot when Harry entered. In the center was a lone chair meant for Harry. The other members of the Wizengamot would surround Harry in the circular courtroom. Sitting at a podium opposite of Harry's chair was Cornelius Fudge, Amelia Bones, and another witch who bore an uncanny resemblance to a giant toad.

"That's Delores Umbridge." Daphne said over the bond. "I don't think she'll try something here but if she was behind the dementor attack on Cho, we'll need to be careful when dealing with her."

As harry took his seat in the center of the courtroom, several chains shot out of the chair pinning Harry's arms, legs, and torso to the chair. As this happened, several members protested.

"Is this really necessary?" Sirius demanded.

"Mr. Potter is considered an extreme risk to the safety..." Umbridge started.

"That's Lord Potter to you." Richard Greengrass said.

"But he is just a boy he can't be a Lord!" Umbridge screeched.

"He is the last of the Potters so by default he is now Lord Potter." Augusta Longbottom said.

"We are not here to discuss Potters Lordship." Fudge said as his face was starting to turn a violent shade of purple just like Vernon's. "But I will remove the bindings." The chains holding Harry to the chair disappeared. "Now we are here to discuss the unfortunate death of one Vernon Dursley on the 29th of July 1995. As Lord Potter was the only wizard in the area at the time of the murder, he is our primary suspect. Is there anyone willing to defend Lord Potter?"

"Trust me" Daphne said "I will." Daphne made her way down from the stands to stand next to Harry.

"Please state your name." Amelia said.

"Daphne Greengrass, Heiress to the Most Noble and Ancient house of Greengrass and Lord Potter's fiancée."

"All in favor of Miss Greengrass representing Lord Potter?" Amelia asked. The vote was close but the ayes just managed to gain a slim majority. "Very well Miss Greengrass you have the floor."

"Thank you Madam Bones." Daphne said turning to the crowd. "Now while the death of Mr. Dursley is a tragic loss, I don't believe that the entire Wizengamot is needed for a hearing for the death of any muggle with the exception of the Queen. Therefore I suggest in the interest of time that Lord Potter be questioned under veritaseurm. Madam Bones I would request that you administer the potion and questions"

Madam Bones sent out a patronus message and after a few minutes Kingsley entered the courtroom carrying a small vial filled with a clear liquid. After inspecting it, Madam Bones gave Harry three drops of the potion.

"Please State your name for the court."

"Harry James Potter." Harry replied.

"Were you at Number 4 Privet Drive on the evening of July 29th?"

"No."

"Where were you that night?"

"At my home in Wales."

"Did you kill Vernon Dursely?"

"No."

"HE"S LYING!" Umbridge screamed as she leapt out of her seat.

"Madam Umbridge control yourself. He's still under the effect of veritaseurm. No further questions." Madam Bones applied the antidote to Harry as Daphne retook the floor.

"Witches and wizards of the Wizengamot it is my belief that Mr. Dursely was the unfortunate victim of a dementor. With Peter Pettigrew's recent escape it was likely that he would go after Lord Potter and that Mr. Dursely was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. If there are no other question I suggest that we should vote now."

"All those in favor of holding Lord Potter responsible for the death of Vernon Dursely." Madam bones asked. A few hand went up including Fudge's and Umbridge's hands. "All those against." The rest of the hands went up most coming from higher ranking members. "The wizengamot has spoken, Lord Potter will not face any punishment. "Both harry and Daphne visibly relaxed at the decision. The Various members of the Wizengamot either left the courtroom or came up to Harry and Daphne. After shaking hands with a few senior members, Harry and Daphne made their way back to the Floos.

'That was amazing." Harry said. "I didn't think that would've worked

"Well I've been sitting in on Wizengamot meetings since I was a little girl. Politics are like Quidditch to me."

"So does this mean I might be married to a future Minister of Magic?"

"No I've never dreamed of being Minister, my dream is to open my own potion shop after graduating Hogwarts."

"Well at least one of us is good at potions." Harry said. Daphne rewarded his joke with a kiss and the two of them stepped through the Floo back to Grimmauld Place.
