Chapter 1: A Wing and Abandoned

Summary: Abandoned. That's what happened to Benitsubasa. Her ashikabi abandoned her, all because she hadn't killed the ashikabis and their sekirei and because she can't "satisfy" him. In a fight with her fellow discipline squad members, she's injured greatly. She runs the first chance she gets, but she' dieing. Who will save her? Minato went out shopping and got chance by Ha'hane. She chased him to Benitsubasa's position. What happens now?

Chapter 3: A Wing & Benitsubasa & Musubi- You're our Ashikabi, Kiss us

"Okay," Minato says.

"Good," Miya, "Now, I need you to stay as you are. Do not move your hands under any circumstances, understand? - Good! I'll go get some supplies to bandage them up. Make sure you keep a close eye on them while I gone and be sure to call me if anything happens."

"Okay."

Miya leaves the room and Minato sighs in relief. "Miya's damn scary," he thinks, turning back to the two people in his care. Musubi appeared to be relatively fine, besides the sweating and heavy breathing. On the other hand, Benitsubasa wasn't doing to well, she looked like shit. Her wounds had reopened and blood was pooling under the bandages. It wouldn't take long for it to pool under her. Her eyes, which had been closed peacefully, were now clenched shut as a painful expression took over her face. She was starting to sweat in an abondance and begin to quiver a little. Her teeth chattered like she was cold, then they suddenly clenched tightly together, grinding into each other. At the same time her hand balled into tight fist and shook violently. Panicking, Minato tries to do something quickly to calm her down and stop the bleeding, but her has no supplies to do so. Unfortunately, Musubi had gasped in pain just then. Turning towards her, he sees she had progressed to the same state as Benitsubasa, just not bleeding as badly. Though, that can change at any moment. And her mouth is open as she breaths faster and heavier, like she's desperately trying to get oxygen or she'll suffocate.

"W-w-what do I?!" Minato mentally shouts, panicking.

He nearly goes into a full on panic attack, but lucky Miya walked back into the room. Seeing that Minato was going to have a panic attack soon, she moves quickly and sits beside him. She puts a hand on his shoulder and her looks at her,. Seeing her seems to calm him down enough that her won't have a panic attack, but he was still shaking. Miya miles at him and tells him to go take a shower as she begins to work on Musubi. Before he left, he saw six slash across Musubi's back, all of them intersecting. He nearly lost it there and passed out, but managed to keep himself together. He sprinted upstairs after that, never looking back.

-Five Hours Later-

Minato sighs as the shower water hits him. Letting the warm water slide down his body as he felt his nerves relax and all the blood rinse off him. After he had went upstairs, he didn't feel right leaving Miya downstairs by herself and went to help her. It was a good thing to because Benitsubasa was fading fast and Miya was still trying to stabilize Musubi. Without even thinking about it, he rushed into the room and did what he could to keep Benitsubasa alive. It took a while, but they he did it and bought Miya some time. After they had saved Benitsubasa and Musubi lives, Miya decided to lighten the mood by teasing Minato about him being a pervert. At first he had no idea what meant, until she told him to look down at the girls. When he did, it dawned on him that both of Musubi's and Benitsubasa's breasts were previously exposed and he had his hands on both of them a few seconds ago. As soon as he realizes this, he blushes bright red and stutters out an apology, afraid of Miya's wrath. Miya chuckles at him and tells him she was only teasing him. He let's out a sigh of relief and goes to take a shower, which brings us up to speed.

"(Sigh) I had enough excitement for today," Minato thinks, "all I want to do is relax for the rest of the day, but I have a bad feeling that's not going to happen."

Shaking off the negative thoughts, Minato steps out of the shower. He goes and gets dressed, then heads back downstairs. He finds Miya tending to Musubi and Benitsubasa. He stops and watches as she works. Something about the way she works just gabs his interest. She's always so passionate in her work, no matter what it is and manages to smile the whole time. Like she' happy to help in anyway and everyway she can.

"Like what you see, Minato?" Miya asks sweetly, snapping Minato back to reality.

"Uh...I...I wasn't...umm," Minato stutters with his head turned to the left, blushing brightly.

"Relax Minato, I was only teasing you again,' Miya laughs, "You really are too easy to tease."

"O-oh."

"Anyway, I need you to go to the grocery store for me and pick up a few things, k?"

"Sure."

Miya reaches into the left pocket of her apron and hands him a list of items she needed. He takes it and nods to her, before heading out.

-Later-

Minato exits the grocery store with a sigh and heads back to Miya's inn. His mind is filled with so many thoughts and unanswered questions. Like just who are those two girls at Miya's inn and what happened to them? Or who was the chick with metal claws on her hands? And the other two girls before her? Are the two he rescued safe now? He shakes his head and sighs. If he keeps thinking about it, he'll end up with a headache. "I guess I'll just have to ask them when they wake up," he thinks, "I hope their okay."

That's another thing. Everytime he starts to thinking about something, no matter what it is, his thoughts somehow lead back to the two mysterious girls he rescued. It's like he couldn't stop or help thinking about them. When he thought of them his body seemed to heat up and he begin to sweat. It felt like he was being cooked alive, but he couldn't for the life of him understand how or why this happened. It's the other thing he couldn't help but think about. It was cool outside, yet every now and then, he feels like he's being cooked alive. If it wasn't that, he begin to panic and worry irrationally.

For some strange reason. he cared deeply about them and he just met them! Plus,he doesn't even know who or what they are. Still, he worries if they're doing well and will they get better. The thought of them not getting better makes his stomach tighten into a knot. Then, he'd start to sweat and panic a bit more. Without realizing it, he worries had caused his to run all the way back to Miya's inn. He leans against the front door for a bit to catch his breath, when he does notice he ran the whole way. He listened while he was at it. H e didn't hear anything wrong, so that quelled his irrational fears somewhat. Opening the door, he nearly meets a fist to the face. Luckily, for him, his body reacted on instinct from all those times his sister used to attack him and he ducks under the fist and leaps back. Looking back at the door, he tries to see the person who almost punched him, but instead is forced to dodge another incoming fist or have a painful meeting with the ground.

"W-what the hell?!" he wonders as he continues to dodge fist after fist, barely dodging them as each attack gets closer and closer to hitting him.

Unfortunately, he was a little too slow on one of the incoming punches and said fist slams into his face. The force behind the punch launched him into the tree in the yard. He slams into the tree and let's out a grunt of pain as he nearly loses consciousness. His vision is blares and he sees three pink haired girls charging at him, their fist raised in the air, ready to pummel him. Panicking, he freezes in place, staring wide-eyed at said girls. Just before she reaches him, his eyes snap shut as he waits for the pain to come. Only it never does. Slowly, Minato opens his eyes and sees Musubi in front of him, blocking Benitsubasa's way.

"Get out of the way N0. 88," Benitsubasa growls.

"Uh-huh," Musubi refuses.

Both girls stood in some new clothes Miya had given to them, similar to their shredded ones. Though, bandages were visible on their person, letting Minato know they weren't in top condition. Musubi's were only visible on her arms, while Benitsubasa's were visible on her arms, legs and two on her face, but he couldn't really worry about that right now. After all, one of them was trying to take his head off. Other than that, they did appear to be perfectly fine, especially since Benitsubasa seemed to have enough energy and mobility to try and kill him.

"Ummm," Minato mumbles, trying to at least get their attention and find out why Benitsubasa just tried to kill him, but is ignored.

"Move. Now," Benitsubasa growls.

"No," Musubi says defiantly. "I won't let you hurt him, not after he helped us."

Benitsubasa glares at Musubi and Musubi glares back at her, defiantely. Minato watches the two warily, wondering what was going on. Before anything can exelate, Miya walks out of the house/inn. Everyone freezes and all eyes turn to her. She's smiling that way too sweet smile at them with closed eyes. Behind her the evil abrition of the shinigami's mask appears, floating above her head.

"Please restrain yourself from hurting Minato and each other," she says, "You still need more time to heal."

Benitsubasa glares at Miya. "No," she says defiantely with finality in her voice. "I refuse to have another ashikabi."

"He's not like Natsuo Ichinomi," Miya tells her.

"I don't care! All men are the same!"

With that said Benitsubasa slips by Musubi by flipping over her and heads straight for Minato. Who in return sees her charging at him and nearly leaps out of his own skin. She was too close for him to dodge successfully and he wouldn't make it very far. He's caught like a rat in a trap. "This is it!" he thinks. Minato can't even tear his eyes away from the girl who was about to end his life, her fist an inch away from his face. Luckily, for him, Miya comes to the rescue. She knocks Benitsubasa's punch off course, so it shatters part of the tree and quick moves behind her. Striking a pressure point in Benitsubasa's neck before she can act, Miya knocks her out cold. At first Minato was too shocked by Benitsubasa's fist missing his head by a few centimeters and her suddenly collapsing, his body moving on it's own to catch her before she hit the ground. He let's out a sigh of relief when realizes what just happen and that he was alive.

"Thanks Miya," he says gratefully.

"Anytime Minato," Miya says. "Now, be a dear and bring her inside, k?"

"Huh...s-sure."

Minato picks up Benitsubasa bridal style and follows Miya into the house with Musubi right behind him. He sets her down on one of the living room couches as soon as they were inside. He didn't want to hold her longer in case she woke up. He didn't wanna die yet. Once he set her down, he followed Miya into the kitchen with the groceries Musubi had picked up. Handing Miya the groceries, Minato heads upstairs to take a nap. "It's been a long day," he thinks. Unfortunately, for Minato. he barely got to bed before he hears a loud explosion that shakes the house. He jumps up out of bed and runs back downstairs. He arrives to see a hole in the left wall of Miya's inn/house and Miya staring at it. Looking around he sees that both Musubi and Benitsubasa are gone.

"What happened?" he asks as he runs over to Miya.

"Benitsubasa, the one that attacked you. woke up suddenly. She was suppose to b out for day, but she woke up anyway. She wasn't too thrilled that I stopped her from killing you and tried to attack me. Musubi defended me and they got into a fight. Now, they're out there somewhere off fighting each other." Miya explains.

"Do you know where they might have went?" he asks.

"No, but Minato, you have to find them. Neither of them are fully healed. They are in no condition to be fighting each other or anyone else for that matter. If they get attacked while like they're like this, they won't be able to defend themselves properly."

"You can count on me Miya. I'll stop them somehow and bring them back here if I can. But why would they attacked? Or better yet, why were they attacked the first time?"
"Sit. What I'm about to tell you, will be a lot to swallow. Promise me not to interrupt until I'm done and never breath I word about I say to anyone else, unless they're like you or need to know."

"O-okay. I promise."

-Elsewhere-

Musubi blocks a punch from Benitsubasa and leaps to another building. Benitsubasa growls and jumps after her. The two are miles away from Miya's home. After through Musubi through a wall, Benitsubasa had attempted to attack Miya. Only for Musubi to grab her ankle and pull her through the hole. Musubi tossed her pass a few trees, a cross the inn's land and into the street, angering her further. Then, so no further damage would befall the inn, Musubi leaped onto a building across the street and ran. In her anger, Benitsubasa completely forgot about Miya and went chasing after Musubi. Now, the two were leaping across town, going from building to building.

"Stop!" Musubi pleads, "We shouldn't be fighting."

"Are you an idiot?" Benitsubasa rhetorically, "We're sekirei. We were created to fight each other. Besides...you pissed me off!"

"Sorry. I just couldn't let you hurt the landlady. She help us."

"I don't care! Stop apologizing and fight!"

"I won't. Not until I find my destined one."

"Perhaps we can be of some assistance," two voices interrupt the two.

Both girls turn to find the thunder and lightening sekirei twins Hibiki and Hikari standing on a building opposite of them. They smirk down at the two with a hand on their hips. Benitsubasa growls at them for interrupting her fight. Then , without even thinking, she launches herself at them. Musubi tries to stop her, but Hibiki leaps at her, causing her to jump back and distance herself from her.

Benitsubasa tries to punch Hikari, but Hikari easily avoids the attack. Growling, she tries even harder to land a hit, but fails to realize tat she can't. With her still healing wounds and after getting into a semi-fight, her body was mostly focused on healing, but being who she is she's ignoring that and still trying to take Hikari down. Hikari notices that Benitsubasa was injured and couldn't land a single hit on her and decides to toy around with her for a bit. She dodges a punch thrown at her face easily and knees Benitsubasa in the gut, causing her to double over in mid-air. Hikari follows up with by kicking her in the head, sending her flying through a building. Meanwhile, Musubi was busy trying to dodge lightning bolts being thrown at her by Hibiki.

"Hold still," Hibiki growls at her, getting annoyed with Musubi.

Musubi jumps into the air, avoiding being hit by yet another lightning bolt. As she descends, she continues to narrowly dodges more of Hibiki's attacks. Realizing she will have to fight if she ever wants to survive this game long enough to meet her ashikabi, Musubi strikes the building they're fighting on with all the strength she can summon forth. It cracks and begins to crumble from the force of her punch and creates a dust cloud blocking both sekirei's view of each other. The cloud was big enough that it reached Hikari and Benitsubasa, also blocking their vision of each other. Unfortunately, for Musubi and Benitsubasa, Hikari and Hibiki used this opportunity to launch a surprise attack on the two. Neither girls could act fast enough, before they both were struck by twin lightning bolts followed by a thunder clap.

"Ggggaaaahhhhhhh!" they both cried out in pain.

Hikari and Hibiki laugh at the twos suffering. Hearing them laugh at her, reminded Benitsubasa of her previous ashikabi, Natsou, betrayal. Suddenly, her eyes snap open after closing from all the pain she was experiencing and her anger explodes like never before. Driven by her new found anger, she fights through the pain from the twins combined attack and launches herself at the twins. She slams her head into Hikari's gut and spins, roundhouse kicking Hibiki in her side. Both girls are sent flying back in different directions, unable to stop themselves having not anticipating such an attack. Without missing a heartbeat, Benitsubasa follows after Hikari. Hikari slams into a tree, breaking through it and slamming into the ground, a trail behind her. Hibiki lands a few feet away and slams into a tree branch sideways and falls into some bushes.

"That little bitch," Hikari thinks. "She'll pay for that. She ruined my dress!"

With that in mind, Hikari launches herself back into the fight. Only to collide face first with Benitsubasa's incoming fist. She bounces off the ground from the force of the hit, leaving a small crater under her, and gets kicked away without mercy. Flipping in mid-air, she rights herself and glares at Benitsubasa as she lands, holding her side. Benitsubasa glares back at her and lunges. Hikari smirks at Benitsubasa brash way of fighting becauses she's letting her anger consume her. Still, she is wounded and her body is tired, she'll run out of adrenaline soon. As she is she could never defeat Hikari and Hikari knew this already.

She starts to dodge Benitsubasa's attack with a deliberately slow pace. Doing so only infuriates Benitsubasa further, who tries to speed up her attacks. Unaware that by doing so, she was tiring herself faster than before, which in turn only slowed down her attacks. "It's over," Hikari thinks after dodging Benitsubasa attacks for several minutes. With one attack, she takes Benitsubasa out, knocking her into the middle of the street. Musubi soon follows Benitsubasa being right next to her by Hibiki as she joins her sister.

"Time to end this," Hikari says. "Though it was fun to fight an abandoned number, you stood no chance against us."

"Not without an ashikabi anyway," Hibiki finishes. "But by the looks of it, you two won't have to worry about finding one. Because...this...ends...now!"

Faster than they could see, the twins launched a double combination move of lightning and fire it at the two down sekirei. Realizing that neither of them had enough energy to dodge the attack and that their fate seemed sealed, Benitsubasa and Musubi closed their eyes waiting for their end to come. Only it never did. After several seconds, which felt like minutes, of no pain, the two opened their eyes and are surprised by what they see. Minato had arrived and pulled them out of the way of the attack. Though, his eyes have a far away look in them.

"I understand now," he whispers, breaking the silence around them all.

-Flashback-

"O-okay."

"What I'm about to tell you...you can never tell anyone else, unless they are an ashikabi and even then you must be careful. Now, before you ask, I'll explain everything. K?"

"Hai."

"The first thing you need to know is that MBI is behind this. The director, Minaka, found the sekirei and decieded to have them fight in a tournament for his amusement. The winner gets to live a happe life with their ashikabi."

"A-and the losers?"

"I-I don't know, nor do I wish to."

Minato gulps, but says nothing. Just nods nods for Miya to continue.

"Good. What happened earlier was that Benitsubasa was abandoned by her ashikabi. An ashikabi is a sekirei's destined one, their champion for life. A sekirei is what you would consider a meta-human or alien. They each have their own unique ability that makes them special. When a sekirei finds their chosen ashikabi, they usually have a physical reaction to him or her."

"W-wait... y-you mean..."

"Yes, when you touched both of them, they reacted to your presence and your soul, but it's unusual for an abandoned sekirei to have another ashikabi."

"Really, why?"

"Because sekirei throughout history have only been able to have one ashikabi and that's it. They get the sekirei crest, which looks like a bird spreading its wings, on their foreheads when they're thrown away or abandoned because they failed to meet the desire of their ashikabi's wishes."

"So, that's what that mark on her forehead was, but it looked like it was faded out. Sort of like a washable tattoo."

"Yes, that's was it and as you pointed out, it looks faded. Which is the strange thing about it. I believe the fact that it is faded is why she is reacting to you. Fate may be trying to give her a second chance t finding another ashikabi. One that will cherish her. You also need to know that a sekirei gets stronger with their ashikabi. The more sekirei an ashikabi wings the stronger they'll become and vice-versa. It allows them to reach their true potential."

"Got it. Is there anything else? Also, ho do you know all of this?"

"I'll answer your second question another time. As for the first, yes. There appears to be someone taking out unclaimed and abandoned sekirei.

"W-wait! So, they could be in danger right now?"

"Yes and with the injuries they have already sustained, they're in no condition to defend themselves against anyone for long."

"I have to find them!"

"Please do and be careful, Minato."

"Hai. I will."

-Flashback ends-

"Who the hell are you?" Hibiki asks.

"Who I am doesn't matter right now," Minato replies. "What does matter is who you are? And why you're attacking my friends?"

"Hmph. We'll humor you for a bit," Hikari states. "The names Hikari."

"And I'm Hibiki."

"And as to why we attacked those two is none of your business. Just get out of the way before you get hurt."

"No."

"No?" Hibiki asks surprised.

"No, I'm not going anywhere."

"Listen brat," Hikari growls, "You have no idea what you're getting yourself into."

"Actually, I do. You're all sekirei and you're in some type of tournament against each other, but you two take out all the sekirei that haven't had a chance to find and bond with their ashikabi or have been abandoned by their ashikabi."

All four sekirei started at Minato in shock. "H-how'd he know all of that? About us and the tournament?" they all wondered.

"So," Hibiki says darkly. "Are you the one who abandoned no. 105 Benitsubasa?"

"No, I wasn't. Nor do I know who did so. Until a little while ago, I didn't know a thing about the sekirei plan, but what I do know is that I might be able to give her another chance to be happy. I may be her ashikabi even though she's abandoned and I may be Musubi's as well. That's if they'll have me."

"If that's true, we cannot let that happen."

With that said the twins lunge at Minato. Minato grabs both Musubi and Benitsubasa and leaps away, his instincts taking over. He begins to dodge and weave around the twins attacks with surprising ease. "H-how is he doing this?!" they wondered. Unfortunately, for Minato, he couldn't keep up his new agility for long as his body ran out of adrenaline. He makes one little slip and gets hit with a lightning bolt. Before it touched him, he tosses Musubi and Benitsubasa away from him. Benitsubasa growls at being thrown on the ground, but it's cut short when she hears Minato cries out in pain.

"Ahhhh!" Minato cries out.

The attack stops as quickly as it started and Minato stands there with some smoke rising off his body. He wasn't dead, since sekirei can't kill humans, but that doesn't mean he wasn't in pain. Slowly, he falls to his knees and then onto his face. Luckily, Musubi rushed forward and caught him before he did. She lays his head in her lap with tears in her eyes. The other three sekirei stare at Minato in shock.

"W-why would he..." Hibiki tried to think, but was too shock. Sure, she heard what he said earlier about being their ashikabi, but she figured it was bull shit since no. 105 is abandoned.

"Why'd he take that attack?" Hikari wondered in shock. "He had no way of knowing he wouldn't have died? So, why'd he do it?! It doesn't make since!"

Benitsubasa was the most shocked out of the three of them. "D-did he j-just...w-what the fuck?!" she thinks, beyond shock and angry, though she couldn't figure out why she was angry, just that she was. " I didn't ask for his help! I didn't need him to come and try and save me! I tried to kill him earlier! S-so... w-why?! Why'd he save me?!"

Musubi was the only one to voice her question. "Why'd you do that?" she asked sadly.

"I-I didn't w-want e-either of y-you t-to get h-h-hurt," he says painfully, smiling faintly.

"I tried to kill you!" Benitsubasa shouts as she moves closer to them. "You remember that, I know you do. So, why'd you save me?!"

"B-because it w-was...t-the r-right t-t-thing t-to...d-d-do."

"You idiot!"

"Hehe.-It's alright. I-I f-forgave you already for that, s-so...i-it's o-o-okay."

"No, it's not! You can't just forgive someone for trying to kill you. That's just stupid. It doesn't make sense!"

"M-maybe, b-but...I still forgive you."

"...Baka."

Before Minato could say anything in reply, Musubi surged forth and kissed him. The entire time he talked to Benitsubasa, she could feel herself reacting to being near him. She held herself back as long as she could, so he could say what he had to, but she just couldn't contain it anymore. Minato's eyes widen at the sudden feeling of her lips on his, before he feels power flow through him. Musubi feels the same exact thing happen to her. Suddenly, there's an explosion of light and Musubi to be floating in the air. She curls into a ball and pink energy wings explode out of her back, leaving the sekirei crest, before fading away.

"Shit! She did it!" Hikari curses mentally. "We need to leave now," she tells her sister.

"Right," Hibiki agrees.

The two twins quickly take off and head back to their ashikabi. The light dies down to reveal Musubi holding Minato. Both of them were looking better, but not a hundred percent. Suddenly, Benitsubasa finally stops next to them. She stops and kneels, looking Minato right in the eyes, searching for something. Minato fidgets under her gaze nervously, but doesn't break eye contact. He let's out a sigh of relief when she backs up a bit and seems to relax somewhat. Then, she grabs his face with both her hands and tilts it up a bit. He stares into her eyes again, blushing a bit at how close she was.

"I'll give you a chance, that's it," she says. "Don't blow it and don't make me regret it."

Once more, before can open his mouth to reply, she kisses him. Again a feeling of power rushes through the two and Musubi. The faded sekirei mark on her head vanishes and she appears to float in mid-air. Her back is arched and she curls into a ball. Red energy wings explode out of her back, leaving a faded sekirei crest where the wings were and she uncurls, back arched once more. The light dies to reveal a fully healed Minato, Musubi, and Benitsubasa. Minato is shocked for a moment, before smiling happily.

"Let's go home," he says looking at the sky, then at his two sekirei, smile widening. Surprisingly, Benitsubasa has a smile smile on her face as she smiles back at him with Musubi. With that, they head back to Miya's inn/house.
