Guess whose back! I'm so sorry for being gone so long. I was in summer break. And, just to put this out there, I never am able to post over summer break. Maybe rp in forums. But never post.
Fang: RozaCourt owns nothing.
Chapter eleven
Fang POV
"You don't deserve to have that treated," Flare said as a Healer went to work on my nose. She has already finished my jaw. We're sitting in a deserted alleyway.
"You already said that with my jaw," I pointed out.
"Well you don't."
"Well you need to get a life. Stay out of mine."
"Boy, I will always be around. After all, I am the Queen's Knight. The second highest rank in the books." I avoided blasting him. He is stronger than me since he is older. Gotta keep that in mind.
"There. You're done. Try to avoid upsetting Her Highness from now on, though," the Healer told me.
"Might wanna hang around for a bit. Max isn't gonna want to see him again so soon," Gazzy said, only half joking.
"My orders are to heal then leave, mortal. But if you think it's necessary, I can leave a Life Angel behind to watch over him."
"That would be great. Thank you," I said. The Healer tapped my forehead and disappeared.
"So, are you ready to face Max?" Angel asked me. I picked up my jacket and slipped it on. 'Am I ready? Hell no, I ain't ready! But… I must.'
"Let's get this over with."
Flare and I easily carried Angel, Gazzy, and Iggy back to the cabin we're staying in. I let the others in ahead of me before slowing following, tensed for combat.
"Only a coward would attempt to prolong the inevitable. Follow me," Max said simply as she walked past me. I gulped as I followed her outside and into the air. "I don't wanna accidentally hurt a mortal."
"If this becomes a physical fight, I will only attempt to restrain you."
"If this becomes a physical fight, you better try to get away from me quickly," she said mockingly. "Because I would try to end you."
"Why did you lead me out here and not do anything yet?"
"You have one chance." She turned to face me. "One shot to prove to me you aren't a two-timing, lying, mortal, jerk jock." I winced at each part of the insult. It's up there with the absolute worse things you can call a Guardian Vampire male.
"I hadn't meant to kiss Lissa. Quite frankly, I didn't even want to dance. I was overcome with a spell spoken by you." She blinked at me in confusion. "You chose me, yet you didn't want me."
"When did I ever lead you to believe I didn't want you?! When you turned on me, I still kept you close all these centuries! When we were on trial, I gave the testimony that saved your life! When I could've had Flare, my sort of lifelong crush, I chose you instead!"
"Max…" I started.
"No, I'm not done yet! I have always wanted you! Even when you shoved me away that day! Even when you continuously tried to kill me for my rank! Even when you almost had demons kill me! I… wanted… you!"
She flew into my face as I hovered there, shocked into deep silence. "And your dumbass was too stupid to see it! And now you accuse me of making you break my heart?! Ha! That's rich!"
She stayed there, hovering. Panting. Fuming. Waiting to see what I would do or say to counter that. So I kissed her.
"What… are…? Fan…!" Each time she spoke, I stuck my tongue in her mouth to stop her words.
"Just relax." She finally did.
Her arms wrapped around my neck as the kiss deepened. Our wings beat in the same motion. As one. Up. Down. Further up. Further down. Just as it should always (will always) be.
Ok, ending the story there. But! Not the story line. I am going to do a sequel to this. Very soon. As soon as I finish updating and posting other new stories I worked on all summer.
