Chapter 1

*..*..*..*..*

It's the first day of the summer break.

The weather is hot. Misaki was sure if she didn't return home before the noon, she would be transformed into a human barbeque. However, she had no intention of allowing the hot atmosphere to ruin her day.

Finally, there are no class president commitments. There's neither shouting nor fighting with crowds of guys anymore. There's no need to pull all-nighters in order to study anymore. There's no teasing from Usui anymore. There's no Usui…

She suddenly felt blue. Did she want a 'no Usui'?

'Ah! Whatever! He's just an alien' She resolved to finish doing her grocery shopping and banish the thought of Usui.

After double-checking the list of what her family need for the week, Misaki made her way to the grocer to pay. The moment she opened the door in order to leave, she saw a speeding figure nearing her. She immediately closed the door, afraid of the soon to come collision.

*bump*

She opened the door again after the figure collided to it, and that figure was lying on his face on the concrete of the entrance.

"Are you alright?" Misaki asked; feeling a great pity for the guy on the ground; that was a hard collision.

He stood, saying:"Yeah, how can I not be fine when you are worried about me?"

Recognizing him, she felt a warm stream reach her cheeks.

"Shut up!" she pretended to be angry. To her, it's better than showing her embarrassment.

"Looks like Usui can't use roller-skates" She said with a victory smirk on her face. She finally found something against him. Finding something against him seemed like an impossible mission. He is perfect at everything! Well, not anymore.

"I can never become accustomed to them. People are imperfect so someone will make them perfect. Maybe you can teach me how to skate." Usui stated nonchalantly, skillfully snatching that victory smirk away from Misaki.

"I won't teach you anything. Now get out of my way" She said while passing him. She didn't really mean to shrug him off. She was happy to see him, not that she would ever admit it.

Usui toiled along the road. It was extremely hard to catch up to Misaki when he barely balanced on his roller-skates. When he finally caught up to her, he said:"Don't worry; I won't take a long time. I just want to give you these tickets" he handed her an envelope.

Tickets? What sort of tickets? Misaki took the envelope from his hand. She opened the envelope as she stopped walking.

"They are three tickets I won in a contest. Your family can come. I know you will not agree to accompany me if we were alone. My parents are coming too" He explained, turned around, and weaved along the road.

Misaki giggled a bit, seeing the way he was trying to balance himself. He's not perfect after all, which makes his reputation as an alien slip a bit. .

Misaki looked at the ticket again. It is a trip to some sort of an Island. She smiled at the thought of going to an island. Whether it was in Japan or not, she loves the sea! Her smile grew wider at the thought of going on that trip with Usui.

*..*..*..*..*

Next morning…

"Alone? Where's your family?" Usui asked, a suspicious smile appeared on his face

"Mom and Suzuna went down with flu" Misaki informed, sighing. She felt something was fishy. Her mother and sister became ill suddenly although they were perfectly healthy the other day. When she offered to stay and look after them, they literally threw her out of the house, saying she might catch their illness.

"What about your family?"

"My parents will take the next flight. They have to finish a work"

"Eh? Does that mean I'll travel alone with a pervert alien? No!" Misaki protested

"As I said, my parents will take the next flight. We'll not be alone. It is almost the hour of the departure" Usui stated while pushing her onward gently, strong enough to make her move.

'I should've known this would happen' Misaki thought, frowning.

The airplane took off while Misaki lost herself in the safety instructions that were displayed on the big screen. It was her first time boarding a plane so the tedious details were interesting to her.

She enjoyed showing her ID card and boarding pass, she enjoyed going through security, she enjoyed boarding the plane, finding her seat, stowing her carry-on bag, and fastening her seat belt. Usui was amused just by observing her enjoyment.

Upon the end of the safety-emergency instructions, silence controlled the atmosphere, but Usui, who was sitting besides her, didn't allow the silence to last for long.

"Here, a present" Usui said while handing Misaki a bag.

After taking the bag, Misaki took a box out of the bag. Her eyes widened as she recognized what sort of things the box contains.

"No, I can't accept that" Misaki rejected the present, returned the box into the bag, and gave him back the bag. He refused to get it back, saying:" I need a way to contact you if you lost your way"

"There's no need for such a thing. I'll be fine" She stated sternly; accepting such a present is unreasonable. She isn't the type of people who accepts expensive presents.

"Well, it's not just a 'thing'. It's a smart phone. Please keep it for safety purpose. It's a new place and I don't want you to go missing. If you can't accept it, I'll get it back after we return" Usui reasoned.

Misaki sighed, relenting, and then said:"I'll definitely return it to you"

*..*..*..*..*

Misaki stood amazed at the sight of the imperial hotel in front of her. What amazed her more was the fact that they'll be staying at it. The hotel was surrounded by a magnificent garden, filled with fountains and different types of flowers. There were many statues scattered around in an amazing design. The place seemed as if a painting or a fantasy show came to life.

"Let's enter" Usui said as he escorted Misaki to the gates of the hotel.

A question came into Misaki's mind. She immediately said it."It's separate rooms, right?"

"Well, two suites were reserved with the tickets. Maybe I should join you since your family couldn't come" Usui offered in a teasing manner.

"Don't even think of it pervert alien" She snapped.

Misaki entered the Suite. She completely forgot what she and Usui were talking about. She was beyond amazed; it seemed like a mansion.

She explored every corner. Each room was larger than her house. The curtains that covered the windows seemed relaxing for eye sight, she couldn't tell what sort of fabric the curtains were made of, but she could easily guess it was something she wouldn't dream of buying.

The beds seemed so tempting to lay over them. Just by looking at the cushions, Misaki knew they were feathery soft. The lights, the seats, the accessories, it all seemed like a dream land. Even what couldn't possibly sparkle, was sparkling in her mind.

"Do you like it?"

"It's so... splendid... "Misaki uttered, dazed.

"Good you like it, so we can spend our honey moon here"

"Yeah..." Misaki replied, still in her dazed state.

Usui could tell she wasn't giving any amount of attention to his words, so he teased: "Great, then our marriage should be held sooner"

"Yes, our ma... Eh? What?" Misaki gasped, blushing deeply.

"You said we can spend our honey moon here" Usui answered slyly.

As soon as the words sank into Misaki's mind, Usui found himself out of the suite and the door was locked behind him.

"I'll take a shower and we will meet later!" Misaki shouted while attempting to calm her heart beats.

'*sigh* thrown out of my own hotel suite' Usui thought as he heard her words.

She didn't know that he had a spare key; the entire hotel was his own property, and he didn't spare any other suite for reservation.

*..*..*..*..*

As Misaki was drying her hair by a towel, she opened the suitcase. She fetched a cute blue-sky colored dress that was a bit longer than a knee-length

Misaki had a skeptical look on her face, wondering why her mother would buy such a dress; she never wore girly dresses before.

Misaki's smart phone rang.

"Hello" She answered.

"I need your help. I'll come to the hotel now" Usui informed and then hung up before Misaki could replay.

Few minutes later, Usui entered the suite, making Misaki wonder how he entered; she was sure she locked the door. However, that wasn't the biggest question in her mind. It was; why is he staring at her?

"You look cute. Everything looks perfect on you "He answered her wondering mind, making her blush.

"How did you enter?" She asked, attempting to dispel the awkward atmosphere.

He didn't answer her question. Instead, he held her wrist and drew her out of the suite hurriedly, saying in determination:"What I came for is urgent. You have to come"

The serious look he had made her starts to worry. She walked with him until they reached a forest"

"Why are we here?" Misaki asked, confused.

Usui showed her his roller skater. She blinked twice and glanced at it awkwardly, and then she noted a missing wheel, but she still didn't comprehend why she had been brought here.

"I was skating here and a wheel sheared off. We must find the missing wheel before dark cascades. I can fix it "Usui said honestly.

"Skating in the forest? Of course it'll break! All that seriousness was just for wheels? You worried me!" She yelled, scolding.

"Finally! You admitted you worry about me" Usui teased.

"Like hell I'd do!" She exclaimed, turned around, and stumped along the road back to the hotel. She wanted to enjoy the beach, not search for a missing wheel.

Usui followed her, saying:" If I master skating here, of course it'll be a peace of cake in the city"

"It's impossible to skate here" Misaki stated, wondering if Usui had lost his mind.

He caught up to her blocked her way, giving her a puppy eyes look, which made her resolve break to shreds. To Misaki, Usui's puppy eyes were one of his strongest weapons.

"Please, help me" He begged.

She sighed and said: "I... I..."

"shh... Did you hear that?" Usui whispered, his puppy eyes instantly disappeared. An alerted look appeared on his face.

"No, nothi... "Misaki started answering, but Usui gagged her mouth using his hand, shushing her. He pulled her towards a tree-trunk, embracing her from behind as he leaned the tree-trunk.

Misaki was baffled; what were they hiding from?

Misaki attempted to remove Usui's palm from her mouth in order to ask, when a *BANG!* voice was heard, forcing her to stop any movement she was making.

Someone or something had been shot few steps afar from the teenagers. Attempting to find out what happened didn't seem like a bright idea; they heard footsteps nearing them

'He's approaching!' Usui thought as he moved cautiously, drawing Misaki along to the other side of the tree-trunk. A branch snapped under their shoes, attracting the attention of the owner of the footsteps.

"Who's there?" A man shouted, making the two's hearts jump for a moment.

"Stay here! I'll attract him. He found out about us" Usui whispered.

Before Misaki could object, he ran away from Misaki, making the murderer run after him. Misaki's eyes widened. She was scared. She was observing worriedly from afar. Her heart was skipping many beats, and she gasped each time the murderer shot towards Usui

Luckily, bullets couldn't hit Usui although one of them grazed him.

Not far from where Misaki was, there was a crag, which was in front of Usui. He had no choice but to walk down the crag. Hesitating for a moment, he allowed a bullet to penetrate his body, forcing him to lose his balance, and making him fall down the cliff.

Misaki, from that distance, saw him as a small figure. She could tell that Usui had been shot. She could see his fall. She fell on her knees, tears filled her eyes.

She stood in order to check on him, but she couldn't move; savage arms tackled her, and something that had a strange smell had been placed on her nose. All her Aikido skills left her memory. She was too shocked by Usui's injury to concentrate. Strength left her body and everything turned black.

Usui reached the bottom of the crag. Many cuts and bruises covered his body due to tumbling on rocks. The blood from his bullet wound was starting to soak his shirt. Usui looked at the sky, his vision was blurry.

'Please Misaki, be alright' was all he could think of before the blue sky turned into black.
