You Cannot Die - Oneshot

PrairieWinds

This is my first Warrior Baek Dong Soo fanfiction, so I hope you'll all bear with me! I watched the show recently and became entranced by the storyline and brilliant characters, and with a case of insomnia last night, this idea came to me and I just had to write it down! It's from Ep. 27, the scene at the Defense Minister's house, and it's from Yeo Un's point of view. Enjoy!

There's too many of them.

That's the first thought that enters my mind as I watch the Minister of Defense's guards stream into the courtyard, weapons in hand. Even you, the great Baek Dong Soo, can't defeat them all. My heart, which has begun to splinter already, cracks down the middle as I see the guns appear, loaded and ready to fire. This cannot happen.

The Defense Minister's voice is sneering as he addresses you, and I feel desperation rise inside me. My fists clench automatically, nails digging into the palms of my hands, but I feel no pain. Instinctively, I reach for my sword, determined to stop this somehow, but the Defense Minister's voice cuts sharply through the air: "Don't."

He gives a nod, and the soldiers raise their guns, and all the while you do nothing. You just stand there, waiting, and my heart threatens to shatter completely. Tears I thought I would never shed again sting the backs of my eyes as I cry out silently: Baek Dong Soo! Do you want to die?

An arrow appearing out of nowhere stops the planned execution, and the courtyard is thrown into panic as your friends come to the rescue. But later, in Heuksa Chorong, I hear your voice, and feel your strong hand on my shoulder, as your words threaten to shatter every belief I hold: "For me to give up on you, Un-ah, you will have to kill me."

And that is something I cannot, will not, do. Because if you die, I will have no reason to live anymore.

You have to live.

P.S. This is NO SLASH! Strictly friendship only.

Please review! They mean the world to me!
