Once again, everyone found themselves inside the airship's Conference Room. This time, it wasn't because there was some pressing danger to take care of; it was because of the aftermath. The Cube was away from them, having been placed somewhere else under Ozpin's orders. The director was standing in front of the assembled crew (the Hunters, Lie Ren, and the three agents). Glynda, Port, and Oobleck were standing off to the side, staring at the assembled group of young fighters.

"Well done," Ozpin began, his voice calm and soothing.

"Thank you sir," everyone responded.

"All of you adverted great danger today," Ozpin continued. "And here, I'm talking to the Hunters specifically. Now that you've done your job, you are free to leave."

The six members of the Hunters looked at each other in surprise. Of all things, they hadn't expected to hear that.

"The Council had said no to the initiative years ago, and although this proved that the Hunters was a smart idea, you are no longer required to stay together," Ozpin stated. "The choice is yours."

The group looked amongst each other silently, thinking of their answer before nodding to themselves.

"I'd like to stay," Ruby said. "After all, there's still some G.R.I.M.M. experiments that may be on the loose, and I want to stop them at any cost."

"Me too," Yang commented, wrapping a supporting arm around Ruby's shoulders.

"Me three," Nora added, standing up just to punctuate her point.

"We're in," Blake said for both her and Adam.

"I have nowhere else to go," Jaune responded with a shrug.

Ozpin smiled and nodded, glad to hear their answers. He had been hoping they would continue on as a team, and to hear their validations made him happy.

"Sir, what happened to the Cube?" Blake asked.

"Keeping it on the Airship was a foolish mistake I made," Ozpin replied, "and it was one I didn't wish to repeat. So Lie Ren and I devised a means of sending it off, so that it couldn't be used again."

"What did you do?" Sun asked.

"We gave it a signature cloak that, if it was to be read by anyone else, it would come up as a rock. We couldn't negate the signature of the Aura Cube, but we gave it a different signature," Ren spoke up. "And then we sent it into the depths of the ocean."

"Even if someone managed to break the cloaking signature placed on it, getting to it would be very difficult for them," Ozpin explained.

"Will it work?" Adam asked.

"Only time will tell," Ozpin responded.

"But it was the best option we had," Ren added.

"So that's it?" Jaune asked.

"Yes, it is," Ozpin responded. "I have business with Agent Scarlatina, however. The rest of you may go. Mister Lie, you still need medical attention, so I suggest going to our medical bay."

Nora nodded her head in agreement, wrapping an arm around Ren's arm and pulling him up out of his seat. The two left the conference room with Glynda guiding them to med bay. The others filed out of the room, Sun, Penny, and Blake giving Velvet sympathetic pats on her shoulder before they left. Velvet stared at her director calmly, ready to face her punishment.

"Agent Scarlatina," Ozpin began, his tone never changing. "Your betrayal of the organization demands that you must be removed from B.E.A.C.O.N. and placed in a secure facility for an extensive amount of time as I see fit."

Velvet never moved her head, but a look of sadness flashed in her eyes for just a brief second, before her composure returned to her.

"However, considering the reasons for your actions, and your attempts to make it right by defending Vytal against Cinder and G.R.I.M.M., I will not remove you from this agency," Ozpin continued, smiling ever so lightly when he saw her look of disbelief and relief in her eyes. "However, you will be on watch. I will assign Agent Penny and Agent Sun to be your supervisors. You will not leave this Airship without them following you, understand?"

Velvet nodded, a little light-headed from the news.

"Very well, you're dismissed," Ozpin said, motioning for the door.

Velvet stood from the table and left the room, still in shock over what she had been told.

"That was very compassionate of you, sir," Port told his director with a smile under his mustache. He always liked Velvet, and had been saddened when he learned of her betrayal, but was happy to see Ozpin would be keeping her around.

"The Aura Cube makes us do foolish things," Ozpin stated, staring at the closed door. "I could not punish her for doing something foolish, when I am not exempt from it as well."

"Spectacular!" Penny cried in delight, wrapping her arms around her fellow agent.

Velvet had just stepped out of the conference room and told Penny, the only one who had stayed behind, about Ozpin's decision. The bunny-eared woman was still shocked by his actions.

"Don't worry my friend, I will keep a very close eye on you!" Penny reassured her friend.

"Thanks Penny," Velvet replied with a smile. "I'm just shocked he would do this."

"But you're a good person Velvet. There's no reason he wouldn't," Penny pointed out. "You made a mistake and made up for it, so there isn't a reason to punish you."

"Well I guess if you put it like that…" Velvet trailed off.

"Let's go my friend!" Penny interrupted. "After the hard day you've had, we should get some refreshments."

Velvet wanted to point out the fact that Penny couldn't consume human drinks, but decided not to bother since Penny was trying to be nice and thoughtful. So instead, the brown-haired agent grinned and nodded, linking their arms together and heading for the cafeteria the Airship had. Some refreshments did sound nice.

Yang and Ruby were on the observation deck, overlooking the city the Airship flew over. Despite the amount of damage it had taken in the recent battle, it still looked beautiful.

"This was fun," Yang commented. "It felt good."

"What are you and Weiss going to do now?" Ruby asked, looking over at her friend in worry.

"Well, me and princess have been talking, and we've agreed to have a schedule for the both of us," Yang said. "I don't want her to think I'm going to just take over and make everyone forget her. And she agrees I'm a person now. So we'll have a schedule so that we'll both live in harmony."

Ruby's smile widened upon hearing the news. She pulled Yang into a hug, squealing her delight.

"I'm so happy to hear that!" Ruby cheered.

"Yep. She's going to let me keep this form for a few more days, and then I'll revert and let her take control. I'll come out during missions, since between the two of us, I'm the more physical one," Yang explained. "She'll be around for all the science and stuff."

"I'm just happy you two are getting along," Ruby said happily.

"Well we're not there yet, but we're working on it," Yang said.

"I'll help," Ruby offered.

Yang smiled and rubbed the top of the girl's head.

"Thanks Ruby," the blond haired beauty said. "We know we can count on you."

"Does this hurt?"

"Yes."

"Does this hurt?"

"Yes."

"Does this-"

"Nora," Ren interrupted. "You're poking my skin where brusies are, which yes, they do hurt."

"Sorry," Nora responded sheepishly. "You just have so many bandages."

"Yeah, Cinder and her gang did a number on me," Ren responded, rubbing his arm.

"Well I'm just glad you're okay. I was really worried about you when you were gone," Nora admitted.

"It hurt, but I'm stronger than you think," Ren replied.

"Mhm," Nora hummed, a smile on her lips. "Sooo...are you upset that I'm joining the Hunters?"

"Why would I be upset?" Ren asked.

"Because I know you don't like B.E.A.C.O.N.," Nora responded.

"Sometimes I don't like their actions, but I'm not upset with your decision. I figured you'd join them. It fits you perfectly," Ren explained. "And I already talked to the director about it."

"About what?" Nora asked in curiosity.

"About joining B.E.A.C.O.N. as an agent of theirs," Ren answered.

Nora's eyes widened at the answer, and Ren smirked when he saw the look. He was, of course, expecting the bone crushing hug she delivered him in the blink of the eye and the accompanying squeal.

"Oh Ren that's amazing!" She pulled away from him and her eyes were practically shining like stars in the sky. "We'll make the best team ever!"

"Well I won't be on every mission with you," Ren responded. "I will be in the science department. However, I will be back up for you and the Hunters."

"We'll still be an awesome team!" Nora replied with a shrug. "Can't you see it now? Valkyrie and the Locus!"

Ren chuckled at her enthusiasm.

"Whatever you say."

"And this is the Bridge," Blake introduced to Jaune as they (Blake, Jaune, Adam, and Sun) entered the open room in the Airship. "This is where the most activity is."

"Bigger than anything you've been in, right Arc?" Sun asked the fellow blond haired boy.

"Yeah," Jaune agreed with the statement, looking around in awe.

"Well if you're lucky, you won't have to work at one of those consoles," Sun commented.

"Sun here can tell you about the experience," Adam said to Jaune. "I haven't had to work at the consoles yet."

Sun glared at Adam in annoyance, which the mask wearing man ignored. Blake rolled her eyes at the interaction between Adam and Sun.

"You'll also get used to this," Blake explained to the male, nodding her head at Adam and Sun. "They enjoy one-upping each other."

"Yeah, I'm used to see that back during the Great War," Jaune responded with a chuckle. "Sad to say I couldn't participate in them."

"I think you can now," Blake replied with a smile.

"Maybe," the Great War hero responded.

Jaune turned to look at the rest of the Bridge, and accidentally bumped shoulders with an agent who had been passing by. He immediately apologized, and heard the agent apologize as well. Surprised by the voice, Jaune looked up at the agent in shock, finding a pair of green eyes looking back at him. Red hair and green eyes...

"Pyrrha?" he asked out loud.

"Yes?" the agent asked in surprise. "That's me. Do you require something?"

Jaune blinked before shaking his head.

This isn't the past Jaune, he reminded himself. This is the future and this isn't the Pyrrha you remember...but...

"Sorry, you just look like someone I used to know," Jaune replied.

"You mean my great-great grandmother?" the agent, Pyrrha asked.

"Uhm...yeah...we used to fight together in the Great War," Jaune answered. "I'm-

"Jaune Arc," Pyrrha finished. "My great-grandmother used to tell me the stories her mother told her about you. My great-grandmother said I looked like my great-great grandmother so they named me after her." Smiling kindly, Pyrrha held out her hand and introduced herself, "Pyrrha Nikos, Mr. Arc. You can refer to me as Pyrrha, if you'd like. And it's a pleasure to meet you."

Jaune smiled back at her and clasped his hand in hers, giving it a firm shake.

"Just Jaune, Pyrrha. And the pleasure is mine."

Ozpin stood in the corridor, looking over the part of the city the Airship flew over. On his tablet he was watching emergency crews cleaning up the rubble and checking for any signs of life that may have been hidden while Cinder was on the attack. Building-wise, the damage was devastating. But Ozpin wasn't worried about buildings; he wanted to know the life toll.

"Have you talked to the Council?" Glynda asked, walking up to her director and standing beside him.

He placed away the tablet and looked over at his assistant.

"I have," Ozpin replied. "I gave them a report on the incident in Vytal, as well as the status of the Hunters."

"And their opinions?" Glynda asked.

"They were not happy about me hiding the Aura Cube, but they ultimately agreed that it was safer if the Cube was in no one's hands," Ozpin responded. "And as for the Hunters, they have been given the green light to continue protecting Remnant."

"I have to say director...I'm very surprised it turned out the way it did," Glynda replied. "I didn't think the Hunters would have been able to stop Cinder, and yet they did. How did you know that they would?"

Ozpin took a few seconds to formulate a response before responding.

"Because I had hope, Glynda. In our day and age where technology is advance, hope is the one thing we as a species has slowly forgotten. We make ourselves believe that if something goes wrong, then we are doomed. They, the Hunters, were my hope for a safer world, and they came through," he explained. "There was never any doubt that they would be able to do it."

Glynda looked at her director in amazement, before a warm smile graced her features and she turned to look back at Vytal.

"Hope..." she repeated. "The hope for a better tomorrow."

"And because of the Hunters, we'll be ready," Ozpin continued. "The Hunters will be ready to face any foe that endangers Remnant, and we will always be there as a beacon of hope for the world."

Glynda nodded before her eyes widened slightly under her glasses. She turned her head to look at her director once more, surprise on her face. He gave her a small smirk before looking back out over the city. Glynda stared at him for a small while before her smile returned to her face and she turned back to the window.

"Yes," she muttered with a nod. "A beacon of hope."
