Her right hand cupped the bottom of her stomach while her left shaded the right side of her face. He was beside her, his left hand wrapped around her waist, while his right arm tried to clear a pathway. Camera lights flashed, voices screamed out random questions.

"Here we have the newly wed couple, Olivia and Fitzgerald Grant..."

"...Grant was most notably known earlier this year for false accusations claimed by a hospital nurse that..."

"Olivia! You look beautiful! How does it feel to be Mrs. Grant?"

"You haven't gained a pound! All belly!"

"When is the baby due? Any names? Can we expect a magazine spread?"

"What made you guys decide to get married privately? Fitz's family is known for extravagant parties, why was there no ceremony?"

"You two look so happy and in love! Aren't they such a beautiful couple!"

"Olivia looks lovely in this gown! And that belly! What do you say guys, is she carrying high or low?"

They continued their walk towards the building, fighting through the paparazzi as they made their way up the marble steps. Before walking through the huge double doors, Olivia turned to face the crowd. Silence fell upon them as they all noticed she was about to speak. Microphones, cameras, and notepads were all raised immediately.

"Hello everyone. I know you all have questions and you guys are seeking answers, but the way you all are going on about it is ridiculous. Yes, Fitz and I are married. Yes, we are expecting a baby. That information is only available to you all because I am physically wearing a wedding ring and carrying a huge stomach in front of me. Please, understand that we are normal human beings, just like you all, and we would appreciate it if you respected our privacy. Thank you."

Olivia tilted her head up to look in his direction and found him smiling at her, his gaze filled with love and admiration. He mouthed "I love you", before leaning in and pecking her softly on her lips. The cameras and reporters went wild, trying to capture the sweet interaction between the couple before they turned away and entered the building.

Upon opening the door, the soft flicker of camera lenses and lights began again. This time, it was only two or three photographers that were hired to capture the event for the newly weds and expectant parents. Fitz pulled her closer to him, kissing her hair and rubbing her shoulder as she smiled for the cameras. The photographers bowed their heads in appreciation before walking away to take photos elsewhere.

Olivia gasped as she took in the sight before her. The huge ballroom was decorated with a princess fairy tale theme: light pink and white tulle ribbon stretched across the ceiling; glass vase centerpieces adorned with little white candles and rhinestone crowns; hundreds of pink and white balloons bopping side to side as guests walked by and a pair of lavish white claw foot thrones set center stage.

"Oh my God! This is so beautiful! I love it!", she exclaimed.

"Yeah, Kelly outdid herself", he grinned as his sister came into view. "Here she comes now.."

"Liv! Fitz! Over here! Hey guys!", Kelly squealed with enthusiasm as she walked through the crowd of people over to her brother and sister-in-law. "I'm so glad you guys are finally here! Thank you so much for letting me do this for you!"

"No, thank you Kellz. This place looks amazing. The decorations, the music, the food, everything...", Olivia's voice cracked as tears began spilling from her eyes. She had originally decided to skip a baby shower all together, wanting to lay low as she and Fitz slowly worked through all of their drama. They had gotten married and since their marriage license became public record, they were once again a major topic in the media. They agreed that planning a baby shower and a wedding was going to be much too stressful for them, especially for Olivia who was nearing the end of her pregnancy.

So, when Kelly approached them with the idea for her to throw their baby shower, they kindly turned her down. But when she guilt-tripped them, reminding them that they chose to run off and get married without including the family, Olivia finally gave in. Seeing how Kelly had put so much time and effort into the baby shower that Olivia could only dare to dream of put her in an emotional state.

"Baby, you okay?", he asked, seeing his wife slowly begin to fall apart. He tucked his finger under her chin, pulling her face closer to catch her tears before they fell.

"I'm fine", she sniffled before she smiled at him. "It's just the hormones!", the trio laughed as she fanned her face, trying to dry her tears without ruining her makeup. "Now, let's get this party started!", she walked through the crowd, pulling Fitz behind her.

Olivia made her rounds at the hors d'oeuvres tables, grabbing samples of almost every item and piling them on to a plate. She made sure to pay special attention to ingredients, making sure to stay away for items that could be harmful to her during her pregnancy. It broke her heart not being able to try the freshly prepared Philadelphia sushi rolls that were laid out on a pretty pink platter.

"Oh my God! This tastes sooo good!"

Her eyes were closed and her shoulders shrugged with satisfaction as she devoured a buffalo chicken appetizer. She opened her eyes to find Brandon and Sean eying the rest of the buffalo chicken snacks. She squinted her eyes, watching the twins like a hawk watched its prey as they spoke about some party they were planning on crashing after the shower. Brandon had managed to grab one of the snacks, bringing his hand towards his mouth when he noticed Olivia with her gazed focused on him.

"Eat it and die!", she growled at him. He gulped before nervously extending his hand in her direction, offering her the item. She leaned in, biting it from between his fingers and she smiled as she continued chewing while she walked away. Brandon stood in shock as Sean couldn't contain his laughter.

Servers and busboys ran throughout the building like chickens with their heads cut off, picking up the used utensils and empty plates from the previous courses of the menu, while setting out new plates with food and freshly polished silverware. They had gone from a lovely salad, to a creamy soup and they were now all about to indulge in the appetizers. Looks of contentment filled everyone's faces as they all ate, everyone except Olivia.

"Livvie, baby the pizza is on the way. I know you're hungry, but we literally just ordered it."

"It's taking forever and we're starving!", she mumbled, rubbing her stomach as Pepperoni kicked in agreement. "See!", she moved her hand, showing her husband the tremors moving through her rounded belly. He tilted his head to her stomach, laying his hand to rub soothing circles as he spoke to their daughter.

"Daddy's sorry you're hungry little Pep, but he's doing the best he can for you and Mommy, something that he will always make the effort to do."

"Your best is not good enough right now Fitzgerald!", she rolled her eyes and crossed her arms across her chest.

"Yikes, she used the full name on me!", he continued talking to Olivia's belly. "You know, Mommy looks adorable when she pouts; she makes it so hard not to give in to her. It doesn't help that she's already the most beautiful woman in the world..", he whispered, looking upwards, trying to sneak a peek in Olivia's direction. When he saw her face soften and her anger wearing away, he flashed her a smile, causing her to smirk.

"You know, you're so full of shit sometimes", she ran her fingers through his hair, playing with his curls.

"But you love me", he replied, bringing his face to hers, planting a quick kiss on her lips.

"I love you", she nibbled gently on his bottom lip, causing them to both kiss each other passionately.

"Hey hey hey! You two break it up!", Kelly intruded and the couple broke away from each other, both blushing.

"One large gluten-free pepperoni", Kelly laid the box of pizza on the table in front of Olivia. "Liv, I just don't understand how anyone could eat as much pizza as you do!", she threw her hands up in the air and walked away, leaving a giggling Olivia to enjoy her pizza.

"Oooh!" and "Ahhh!" filled the room as the guests cooed over the presents in unison. The couple sat in their throne-like chairs on the stage, Olivia furiously ripping away gift wrap and squealing with excitement at each gift, while Fitz leaned over to grab another from the gift table.

"Oh my gosh! Look at this! Oh my gosh, this is too cute!", Olivia gushed as she held up a pair of baby-sized UGG boots.

"Her very first pair! You know aunt Kelly had to start her off right in the fashion world!", Kelly spoke up, causing the room to break out in laughter. The couple continued sifting through the numerous gifts, which included clothing items, toys, gift cards, nursing tools, and plenty of diapers.

The photographers made sure to catch not only all of the items while they were revealed, but also the facial expressions of the future parents as they opened them. Olivia especially enjoyed the diamond-encrusted set of baby pacifiers from Brandon and Sean and the pair of small gold studs and gold chain bracelet from Marsha and Anthony. Fitz's face broke out into a frown when he saw the three baby bikinis his mother had given them.

"She's not wearing those", he leaned in and grumbled only loud enough for Olivia to hear.

"You wanna be the one to explain that to your mother?", she replied, a smile still plastered on her face.

They had been dancing for hours on end. He was surprised that she had so much energy after such a long night, especially when carrying that huge tummy in front of her while she moved to the music. He was at the bar, nursing a glass of scotch as he bopped his head to the music. He smiled involuntarily, watching her hold the bottom of her gown, bunched up in the palm of her hand as she moved her hips and danced circles around his father.

His beautiful wife.

He never thought that he would see the day where she would finally be all his, officially. Sure, they were off to a crazy start, but they eventually found their way. His mind went back to the first time he told her he loved her. Marci had tried to come back into his life, but Olivia was the one he chose. He was forever grateful that she stood by him, even in his brief moment of infidelity and with the arrest and court case. And although she had kept the beginning stages of her pregnancy a secret, he had forgiven her. They had forgiven each other.

This was it for him, she was it for him.

Olivia's eyes wandered throughout the crowd, searching for him. She felt his eyes on her, watching her, and she knew he had to be close by. Just when she thought that she was probably just imagining things, their eyes locked. He was leaning against the bar, a smirk on his face as he slowly raised his glass of brown liquid to his lips.

Scotch.

She had already lost her beat and excused herself from dancing with Anthony, giving her father-in-law a kiss on the cheek as she moved through the crowd of dancing party guests. She made her way over to Fitz, who greeted her by instantly wrapping his free arm around her waist.

"You were watching me..."

"I was..."

"You like what you see, mister?"

"I do..."

She stood on the tip of her toes, kissing him softly. Her tongue slowly slipped into his mouth as he pulled her closer. They both groaned in appreciation. She could still taste the alcohol as she pulled away.

"Olivia Pope, are you trying to kiss me to taste my alcohol?!", he asked in faux anger.

"Guilty!"

The couple laughed, continuing to embrace one another.

"I love you..."

I love you too, baby..."

"Olivia, honey, we need you to push as hard as you can!"

"Remember to breathe, Mrs. Grant."

Olivia wailed as she pushed harder, trying her best to get the baby out of her as soon as possible. She thought that the contractions she had were painful, but giving birth was excruciating on a whole other level.

"I'm here for you Livvie, you hear me? Just keep pushing baby, you're doing a great job!"

"Oh, fuck you! I hate you, you did this to me!", she screamed, still pushing. Fitz was shocked and looked over to a nurse, who smiled at him reassuringly.

"They always say that..."

"I see a head! She's crowning!"

"Keep pushing Olivia! She's almost out!"

Olivia's mind went crazy with the different nurses shouting orders at her, the extreme currents of pain shooting through her body, having her vagina exposed to everyone in the room and Fitz standing there with that dumb smile on his face.

AND if that wasn't bad enough, there was a possibility that she was going to shit in front of all of these people. What if her baby landed in it? Her train of thought was broken when she heard a cry break through the room.

"You did it Olivia!"

"Congratulations!"

"Baby, she's here!", he whispered in her ear.

"Daddy, would you like to cut the cord?"

Within seconds, their little one was snipped free, wailing as the nurses quickly cleaned her and wrapped her up before placing her in Olivia's arms.

She was here.

After a brand new pair of suede flats that surely had to be ruined when her water broke as they were heading out the door for lunch; her sucking on ice chips to keep her lips from chapping, while being in labor for over twenty-four hours; and gripping Fitz's hand for each contraction, until she was sure she heard his bones shatter, she had finally brought Piper Brielle Grant into the world.

Their beautiful baby girl stared at them, calming almost instantly when she made contact with her mother. Fitz moved in closer, brushing her sweaty loose strands of hair away from her face, kissing her temple. She tilted her head to kiss her husband, surprised to see tears streaming down his face. They grinned at each other before returning their attention to the child wiggling in her blanket. They stared down at their daughter; her fair skin, curly dark blonde hair, and huge blue-green eyes. The doctors measured her at a full eighteen and half inches, weighing in at seven pounds even.

Throughout all of their ups and downs, they had finally done something right.

And she didn't shit on the table.

AN: This is it folks. I haven't updated this story in so long and I swear I've seen all your reviews and PMs, but it's finally here. I almost didn't finish this story, because I couldn't see it going much further after all of the drama, but I already wrote and envisioned majority of this chapter and I couldn't leave you guys hanging. I figured this would be the perfect way to end the story: their relationship worked out, they finally married each other, and baby Pepperoni was born. Forbidden Fruit & Rescue Me are my babies, my start here on FF and I appreciate every single one of you who stuck out this journey with me. I am still working on updates for my other stories, but you should all be on the look out for Part 3! And I'll try my best not to have the huge delays in between updates again. I hope you all enjoyed!
