This is it, the end is finally here. Thanks to everyone who stuck with the story and who commented, I always appreciated the feedback. Happy New Years everyone!

The house was already dark and quiet when Robin walked through the front door.

She put her purse down and slipped out of her shoes, while simultaneously stroking Brower absent-mindedly while he sniffed her leg.

"Everyone else in bed?" She asked while he stretched his hint legs.

They had adopted the German Shepard three months ago and he had proven himself to be the perfect family dog.

"Ready for your late night snack?" Robin asked and walked towards the kitchen, picking up a stuffed toy in the process.

It was wet and she sighed, neither Brower nor the kids seemed to be able to learn the difference between his and their toys.

"Guess I walked in just in time, huh?" She asked, Brower had already shredded a couple of stuffed toys, once even Roman's favorite elephant.

Luckily Barney managed to track the exact same one down again before Roman realized that Snouty wasn't actually in the washer.

She opened the jar with Browers treats and tossed him one before turning around to head upstairs.

She walked by the giant world map Barney had gotten her years prior, which was now hanging above their extra wide and large couch before getting to the stairs.

The wall leading up the stairs was hung with all their Christmas pictures. From Barney and Robin's kiss the night she visited him that first year she was abroad, to the latest one with the entire family.

Her favorite was one taken a couple of years back, when everyone was still little.

All three of them had had a meltdown and was screaming bloody murder, but Barney und Robin still managed to get their picture of them kissing in front of Rockefeller center.

It captured that time in their life perfectly, they had been in way over their heads, but they had still managed to have fun with each other, even through they were surrounded by constant chaos and drama.

Robin went into Rylie's room first, the girl was sleeping in her bed and Robin leaned down to kiss her.

Rylie was truly her mini me. Sometimes she wondered what would have been if Rylie would have inherited her fathers looks and whether or not that would have had an effect on her love for her.

Her skin tone was still a little darker than Bentley's and Roman's, but no one noticed it anymore since Robin was always very tan herself and hence they looked very similar.

Next Robin walked into Bentley's room, the boy had kicked his comforter off and Robin picked it up and put it over him before leaning down to kiss him as well.

Bentley was, and had always been, the troublemaker. But luckily not in a mean spirited way.

He was just a very curious kid, and one that wasn't scared to get hurt. At all.

His latest obsession was doing a flip off the swing, something he had seen an older boy do at the playground one day.

Of course Barney, being who he was, had wanted to learn it as well.

Bentley had eventually figured it out, while Barney hadn't.

Robin had tried to explain to him that he was simply to tall to do it, and that the swing wouldn't go high enough to give him the room he needed to do the flip, but Barney didn't listen and ended up with a broken leg.

Roman was sprawled out in his bed and Robin grinned, he was the most laid back for sure.

Sometimes Robin thought of him as a true mini version of Barney, not only had he inherited his dads blue eyes and blond curls, but he was also a bit of a nerd.

His favorite past time by far was practicing magic tricks with his dad and then showing them off at a "show" in the basement.

Of course the basement play room had been replaced by a mini laser tag arena after all, but they had designed some of the obstacles to have more than one purpose and so the kids could still play all kinds of make-belief games down there.

Robin closed the door to Roman's room and walked towards their bedroom, she could see flickering lights and assumed that Barney was still watching tv.

"What in the world?" Robin asked surprised as she walked into the room and found Barney in bed.

She had not at all expected the scene in front of her.

"Robin, hey, you are late." Barney replied.

"Why is Rose lying on your naked chest?" Robin asked.

"Lily and Marshall wanted to do something special with Marvin and Daisy and I volunteered to watch Rose tonight."

"And you didn't tell me because…?" Robin asked.

"I wanted to surprise you. I know how much you love seeing infants lying on my chest like this. Plus she wouldn't stop fussing and skin to skin always works with the little ones."

"Oh I see what you are doing, you are re-starting your "let's have another kid" campaign."

She had dodged the bullet three months ago because Barney fell in love with Brower when he took the kids to the shelter one day.

She had agreed to adopt the dog, if Barney would let the whole "having a fourth kid" thing go until Brower was fully integrated in the family.

The discussion came to a complete stop when Barney broke his leg two weeks later and it was on Robin to take care of Brower and the kids.

"We should name her Avi like you always wanted." Barney replied. "Barney." Robin sighed.

"I know, I know, there is a good chance that it's going to be another boy, but I'm sure we could find an awesome aviation themed boy name too."

"When are Marshall and Lily going to pick her up?"

"Tomorrow morning, I told them we could all go out to breakfast together. Or fix some here maybe?"

Robin grinned and took Rose's tiny hand in her own, "it's kind of super crazy when you think about it, Marshall and Lily leave their infant daughter in Barney – Womanizer- Stinsons care and don't even check in with his wife whether or not she'd be there to help."

"Everyone knows that I got this kids thing down."

"Speaking of, how was you guys' evening?"

"Good, Roman and I won our nightly laser tag tournament, then I helped Rylie with her homework, but we didn't finish it, Marshall and Lily came in right in the middle and all three kids were hyped up afterwards."

"I keep telling you, first homework, then laser tag."

"But then they are riled up right before bed." Barney countered.

"Did you talk to your mom?" Robin asked.

Loretta was still not very fond of her, but given her poor health and outlook, she had actually come around a bit.

"Yeah, she's looking forward to our visit on Sunday." Barney nodded.

"Did you talk to the nurses too?"

"I did, yeah, they are going to reserve us a table in the dining room so we can all eat together as planned."

Robin watched her husband gently stroking Rose's back and a part of her wondered whether or not he was so fixated on having another child because of all the things going on with his mom.

"You still want a fourth child?" Robin asked while shielding her eyes from the light.

Rose had been waking them up crying once every hour.

"Did ours used to be this fussy?" Barney asked as he swung his legs out of the bed to get Rose from her travel crib.

"Yes."

"You are just saying that because you don't want another kid." Barney said while yawning and picking Rose up.

"I fed her…40 minutes ago." Robin replied, "she can't be hungry again."

"Maybe she's just missing her mommy and daddy." Barney guessed, "nope, I think I smell something…oh yes."

Robin grinned, "haha, that's what happens when you let your wife do two shifts in a row."

"I am still not convinced that she was even up twice since it was my turn." Barney replied.

Robin turned her face into the pillow, "just saying, having another infant is not nearly as much fun as you think it would be."

"Don't listen to your aunt Robin Rose, having you here is wonderful."

"Wake up!" Roman yelled as all three Stinson kids invaded their parents bed.

"It's time to get up." Bentley announced as he started to jump on the bed.

The only reaction from Barney was a muffled moan, while Robin at least managed to open her eyes.

"Is that a baby?" Rylie asked excited and jumped off the bed to investigate the travel grip.

"Wake up mommy." Roman pulled on her arm.

"I am."

"No, you have to get up." He insisted.

"Why?" Robin asked and eyes Rylie, but she was just watching Rose.

"Browser needs to go outside."

"Hey Bentley, not so wild." In Robin's mind her second oldest was already bouncing off the bed and into yet another emergency room visit.

"Look, I can do a flip." Bentley announced.

That finally got Barney's attention, "not off the bed, do it on the trampoline outside, and take Browser out with you."

"Okay." Bentley jumped off the bed and ran out of the room.

"He's in his PJ's. Mrs. Miller will comment on that." Robin commented.

"The neighbors can barely handle one kid, they should mind their own business." Barney replied.

"Mommy can I feed the baby?" Rylie asked excited.

"She's still asleep, right?" Robin asked.

Rylie nodded.

"You can after she wakes up, okay?" Robin offered and Rylie climbed back onto the bed as well.

Roman had settled under the comforter and was snuggling with his daddy.

"Is she staying longer?"

Robin shook her head, "uncle Marshall and aunt Lily are picking her up in a little bit."

"Aww man, I like babies."

"Me too." Barney commented and opened his eyes to look at his wife.

Robin just shook her head at him and started stroking Roman's hair, wondering whether or not he was falling asleep again.

„Thank you so much for taking her last night." Lily said as she bounced Rose on her hip.

Robin was in the midst of making eggs while the guys and all five kids had disappeared into the basement for a lasertag tournament.

"No problem."

"Don't get me wrong, I love this one to pieces, but getting to drop her off for a night felt like a mini vacation. I honestly don't know how you and Barney survived when all three of your kids were young."

"So no fourth Erikson child, huh? Tracy and Ted think that you'll want to 'win' and hence have a fourth one."

"Hell no. I still can't believe Marshall talked me into having this one." Lily shook her head.

"I hear you. Barney really wants another, but I am not prepared to add an infant to this chaotic household."

"Barney wants another kid?" Lily asked surprised.

Robin nodded, "I know right? And here I thought I knew my husband, you know the charming lady's man? Turns out he's a family man through and through."

"It's so hard to believe that he's the same guy. You really changed him for the better."

"Nah, the kids did, I had nothing to do with that."

"Speaking of kids, you guys are coming to Marvin's birthday party next Saturday, right?"

"I'll be in Boston but Barney and the kids are going."

"Boston?"

Robin nodded, "it's just a day gig, I'll leave early in the morning and be back late that night."

Barney smiled his most charming smile while Robin pressed herself against him.

The flashes of dozens of cameras blinded them momentarily, before they changed poses and finally kept walking the red carpet.

Barney watched some of the other couples pose, most of them were colleagues of Robin or other journalists. He'd known them for years now, but barely any of the marriages had lasted and hence new partners were paraded in front of the press.

Those couples that did last looked as if they had fallen out of love years prior.

He grinned and kissed Robin's temple, glad that their marriage still felt exciting and that they were still in love.

He didn't accompany her to these events often.

For a while after the cheating scandal broke he'd dreaded going since they'd be bombarded with questions about it. And whether he went or not, the next headline would interpret their marriage as either over or loveless.

He'd finally won in court and the girl had to publicly apologise for the lie she had told, but no one had really cared about that.

The cheating story had been so much more interesting.

...

"Barney," Robin shrieked as he pulled her into the bathtub.

She had just come back from Boston and the kids were already in bed.

"Barney that's an expensive dress." Robin complained and he moved his arms to pull it up and over her head before tossing it onto the bathroom floor.

"Idiot." Robin whispered.

"I love you too" he replied and kissed her.

Was there going to be a fourth member of the Stinson gang? Maybe. Would there be challenges ahead with his mom, Rylie's paternity, and Robin's past? Most definitively. But no matter what lie in front of them, one thing was certain, together they'd conquer any challenge because they truly loved each other.
