Chapter 10: the road goes ever on
Ana
I watched as Aragorn and Gimli prepared Boromir's body as Legolas heals and binds my wounds for me, I was quiet. "This is all my fault. If I had been paying attention then Boromir would not have had to take those arrows and he would still be alive now." I thought to myself. "Use the boat that he rode in, send him over the water fall." I called to Aragorn. He looked at me and nodded. Legolas pulled the last of the bandages tight against my last wound and I got up. Aragorn placed Boromir in the boat and began to push it into the water. I fallowed behind him, mindful not to get my bandages to soaking wet. "They will look for his coming from the white tower. But he will not return." Aragorn said mournfully. I bowed my head.
I heard something being pushed across the sand of the river side. I looked over and saw Legolas pushing his boat into the water. Aragorn lead me back to shore. "Hurry! Frodo and Sam have reached the eastern shore." Legolas said. Aragorn and I looked back at him, I had just finished replacing all of my weapons on my body out of sight and the larger ones in the obvious areas. When he received no answer he looked back at us. "You mean not to go after him." Legolas stated after a minute. "Frodo's fate is no longer in our hands." I said looking away from him and looked towards Gimli. I felt Aragorn's arm wrap around me pulling me closer to him when he stood, as if protecting me in a way that only a brother could.
"Then it has been in vain. The Fellowship has failed." Gimli said as he and Legolas joined me and Aragorn. Standing on either side of us. "Not if we hold true to each other. We will not abandon Merry and Pippin to torment and death. Not while we have strength left. Leave all that can be spared behind. We travel light." He said as he placed the last of his weapons away on his person. He looked up at us and smiled. "Let's hunt some orc!" he said then turned and ran into the woods. "YES!" Gimli yells fallowing after. After sharing a look with Legolas, I laughed and we ran after them.
To Be Continued.
Authors note
As soon as I get something typed up for my sister, I will type up the second part of this three part series. As for my other stories as soon as ideas are either thought up or given to me via by the readers they will stay unfinished.
