Hey there guys. It's been over a year, but every now and then I still get people favouriting or following this story. I've had some incredibly sweet reviews - not that I've agreed with all the praise I've received, but it's a really good feeling to know that even this quality of my writing can still make people happy.

Anyway, well, the long and short of things is that this story is officially dead. I know I said last update that I had no intentions of abandoning, this story, and back then that was true, but as time passed, I found more and more reasons to not update.

Firstly, the fandom. I spend a lot of time on Tumblr, and frankly it's gotten to the point where I don't want to look in the kyousaya tag. It's full to the brim of ship hate and ship wars, and I'm sick of it. It's a shame, because the KyouSaya dynamic is still my favourite ship out of everything I do ship, but for now I guess I'll be keeping those thoughts to myself. I thought the ship wars would end, eventually, but it's still going on, and I'm not interested in being a part of a fandom in which there's so much of that going on. It's been a year. Let it go, already.

Alongside that, the end of 2014 and all of 2015 has been a pretty awful year for me. I've quit playing football myself due to various reasons, so there's even less motivation for me to keep up with a sports AU for a sport I've had to quit because of reasons. I've been busy, too, this year, so even if I was updating this story, you guys would have been lucky to get five chapters out of me in all of 2015.

Finally, this was my first fanfiction. As a writer, I've grown significantly since I began writing, and whilst it's really cool to see how much I've improved, it's also very difficult to keep motivated with a story that doesn't adhere to the level of quality I try and maintain nowadays. A lot of you have praised the way I've written this, and I'm genuinely flattered, but I really, really could do much better. Rewriting isn't really an option, either, because I hate rewriting like nothing else.

I'm really sorry, because some of the people I've had the pleasure of having comment on this story have been awfully kind and lovely and patient with me, but I have to let this go.

Of course, it wouldn't be fair to let you all go without a summary of what would have been.

From where we left off, Kyouko and Sayaka would end up developing a friendship - they already had that brief connection when Sayaka's parents passed, as well as the club football team that Mami introduced Sayaka too. Through this, they'd end up pretty close friends, probably with some gay undertones. Yuma would become particularly important, as Kyouko is eventually forced into making the decision to report Yuma's parent's abuse of Yuma to the authorities, leading Yuma and Kyouko to be separated. It's not an easy decision, and whilst Sayaka is there in an attempt to support her, Kyouko still ends up very upset about the ordeal. She ends up fighting with Sayaka, and runs out in the middle of the road in her rage, and is hit by a car. She doesn't end up paralyzed, but it's definitely the end of her football career. Sayaka feels awful, because football was Kyouko's everything, and now Kyouko will never play again. There's operations she can have which will allow her to run around a bit, but they can't afford those, so Kyouko ends up walking with a crutch permanently. She can't play in the final for their high school game, either. Sayaka's team win by a landslide. Without Kyouko, it's an easy victory.

Fastforward to the future, where Kyouko and Sayaka are sharing an apartment - Sayaka is a rookie police officer, and Kyouko is a high school maths teacher. Mami teaches English at the same high school as Kyouko, and Sayaka and Mami have stopped playing football, as their jobs have taken over, and they no longer have time. Madoka is a nurse at the local hospital. At some point between high school and here, Kyouko and Sayaka started dating, and they've been together for 2-3 years at this point. Kyouko's still on crutches, however, but her leg is definitely better than it was before.

The end of the story comes when, on Kyouko's birthday, Sayaka, Mami, Madoka and Homura present her with a gift: enough money to pay for the operation on Kyouko's leg. Six weeks later, Sayaka makes a couple of phone calls, packs some things into the car, and tells Kyouko to jump in, because they're going somewhere. Kyouko's confused, but she goes along with it, and Sayaka takes her to - the park where they used to play high school football. She looks around, and all of Kyouko's old teammates from high school are there. All of Sayaka's old teammates are there too, and they're kitted up in shinguards and boots, ready to play. There's even a ref. Sayaka tosses Kyouko's old boots at her, and tells her to get changed.

The story ends as the whistle blows, and Sayaka and Kyouko finally get to play out the final match of the high school days.

That's the gist of how I wanted this story to go, and I'm sorry I never got there. I figure this is the least I can do to bring this story to a close, and I'd like to thank you all for supporting me and this story over these past two years. I've had a lot of fun, and my love for these characters will probably never die.

If you guys still want to read what I write, you can find me on tumblr - mikimikimii is my account name. I have a veeeery slowly updating International High School AU for RWBY called 55 Minutes, I'm writing a nuzlocke-style story called Pokemon: Online, and I've got several fics on the backburner for the Love Live fandom, so I'd love to see any of you guys there. For the next few months, it looks like it'll be primarily Love Live as my focus for writing, but who knows where I'll be in the future. If this is the last time I see you, well, that's a shame.

In the end though, thank you all again for supporting me and this story. It's been a blast, and I wish you all the best. Thank you for all your kind words over the years. I really, really appreciate it.

Catch you later, guys.
