All eyes were on Elsa. They stared silently and patiently. She was too distracted by the dazzling gleam of the moon that was shedding its light into the room. She turned and looked at the others. "What?"

"It's not her," Bunny muttered through his teeth.

"I was almost positive that it was going to be!" North belted.

"Me?" Elsa asked, astonished. "The new guardian? No. No way. I'm too dangerous."

"She has a point." Jack sighed and ran his fingers through his white hair. "She's still learning about her powers."

"Then who could it be?" Tooth asked.

As the group discussed the new member, several yetis came bursting through the door. They began waving their arms frantically as panicked groans filled the room.

North quickly rose. "Something's wrong." He quickly came to their aid. The other guardians and Elsa made their way down to the factory.

They all stopped when they reached the chaos. The yetis and elves had formed a huge circle with a thin figure in the center.

"I promise I mean no harm! I came to see North—just ask the Man in the Moon! He sent me here!"

Elsa leaned in to get a closer look. The boy was dressed in slim, black dress pants, a black dress shirt and a black vest. His skin was almost pure white, or at least it seemed that way due to the shaggy, midnight black hair. The most striking part of him was the color of his eyes. They were an incredibly bright gold hue.

Elsa cringed when his eyes locked hers. He stared for a few seconds and half smiled. He lost his smile when he remembered the angry yetis surrounding him.

"Did you say the Man in the Moon?" Jacked asked.

The guardians began to chatter nervously.

"Could it be?"

"It couldn't."

"But how—?"

North stomped his foot. It sent a wave of silence over the room. The yetis stopped yelling as the elves cowered behind them. All the guardians quickly shut their mouths.

"Who are you?" he asked slowly.

The boy hesitated before turning to North. He had a surprisingly smug grin on his face. "I'm the shooting star that every child wishes on at least once in their life. I'm the one they talk to when they're tucked in their beds at night." He smiled bigger and came closer to the guardians. "However, you can just call me Merritt."

"How come we've never heard of ya?" Bunny said cautiously.

"I've been pretty secluded. I usually stay up in the sky with the Man in the Moon. I had no desire to come down."

"What? You do?" Jack asked excitedly.

Merritt chuckled. "Yeah. You know when you see a star shoot across the sky? That's me."

Elsa watched quietly. She was so intrigued by this stranger.

"I don't believe this guy for one minute," Bunny hissed.

"I can prove it, really. I know what each of you wished for as children," Merritt said defensively. "Bunny, you wished that the other rabbits wouldn't make fun of you for being so interested in painting eggs. As for the others: Tooth wanted her teeth to grow in faster, Sandy wanted to be able to speak his mind, Jack wanted his parents to stop being so serious and have fun with him and his little sister, and North wanted nothing but everyone to be happy. " He extended his arms proudly.

"What about me?" Elsa asked quietly. She peeked out from behind Jack.

Merritt's face grew sad. He slowly turned towards Elsa. "You wanted it to be winter all the time."

Elsa stared at him blankly. That was true, but she never wished for that on a star. Every wish she made was to help her control her powers and be able to be with her sister again.

Merritt stared at her with melancholy eyes. He nodded as if he knew exactly what she was thinking.

Why didn't he just say it out loud? She thought. She glanced at the other guardians. Maybe he just saved her. They already don't trust her. If they knew what she had done to her sister they would be even more suspicious.

"Well he was right about me. The night I lost my two front teeth, I saw a shooting star. Now that I think about it, they did come in a little faster than average teeth," said Tooth.

"He was right about me, too," North said softly.

"And me," Jack said shortly after.

Bunny stood tapping his foot against the floor quickly. "Alright so maybe he is telling the truth. But what makes him fit to be a new guardian?"

"Never doubt the Man in the Moon, Bunny," North said. He clapped Merritt on the back. "Welcome to pack, boy. You're just in time, too. We need help defeating a persistent villain of ours."

"I'll do anything I can to help, North," Merritt said happily.

"That's the spirit! I have a few ideas so we'll have to discuss them…" North's voice trailed off as he and his fellow guardians climbed the stairs and went into his office.

The yetis and elves went back to work. Elsa sat on a bench and watched them work.

"Are you alright?" Jack asked.

She turned to look at him. "I thought you went upstairs with the others."

"I figured you'd be overwhelmed by all of this chaos so I decided to stay down here with you." He smiled at her.

Elsa slid down the bench so he could also sit. "I don't belong here, Jack. You all help children so much and all I do is hurt people. I belong back in my castle."

"Now, let's be reasonable. The only person you've truly hurt was Anna and that was a mistake. You're not as dangerous as you think you are, Elsa. Your powers are beautiful, just like you."

Elsa blushed and put her head down. Jack reached under her chin and slowly lifted her face up with her fingers. He pressed his lips against hers softly. His other hand was tangled in her platinum braid.

She grinned and began to trace her fingers against the frost on his sweat shirt. She had never felt like this before.

He pulled away and pressed his forehead against hers. "I've been waiting to do that but I didn't want to startle you."

Elsa giggled and hugged him close. "Thank you for taking care of me."

Someone cleared their throat. The two jumped back and looked up at North, staring down at them. "Come on you two, we need Jack up there to plan our attack on Pitch."

"Right! Sorry North." Jack quickly stood up and followed his up the steps. He turned his head back and stared at Elsa.

Elsa smiled back and nodded her head to go ahead without her.
