In the midst of rushing, the two demigoddesses scurried to pack themselves into the car. Inside the seats were worn and the leather was tearing but any odours were masked by the scent of apples from the aptly shaped air freshener hanging from the mirror. The remaining smell wafted up from the ash tray near the floor that had long since seen any use.

"Amy, hurry!" Maira pulled on the dark-haired girl's arm to settle her in. The dust had now completely settled and Amy was looking out of the window at Paul, Chloe and Alek's confused faces staring at her. They rushed towards the car with wide eyes. Chloe was definitely about to ask what was going on, Amy really didn't want to talk to them at this point; especially not when they were running from enemies.

"Stop!" Amy shouted at them after she hurriedly tried to roll down the window. It got stuck half way down so she pressed her face forward, pushing against the glass with her hands. Her throat still burned with her anger at them but it didn't, couldn't, overshadow her concern for them either. They may not have needed her but the thought of something happening to them made her stomach flip over "Just go home" She sighed and slowly reclined into her seat as she saw them slowing down. Something in her gut settled like an animal curling up comfortably but her heart pounded out of control.

The young man, whom it turned wasn't a man at all, slid into his seat with the grace of a figure skater and immediately the engine spluttered again. The car sprang into life again, rocking its occupants back and forth roughly. The vibrations of the car gave Amy more adrenaline and focus but she also felt it begin to turn the world at the corners of her mind. Why had they chosen now to arrive? The Mai had no trouble leaving her alone before, but now that she truly needed it, they were clawing at her back?

Taylor grinned "I hope you're holding on back there"

"Wait! Amy!" Fingers curled around the same half-open window that Amy had shouted out from seconds before. The hand was slender and pretty but it clutched the glass so tightly it looked like it was going to shatter. Chloe's mouth was downturned but her eyes were shining and stinging. She stared down into the two occupants in the back seat and asked in a steady voice that refused to betray her own confusion "What's going on? Who are these people and why are you running away? C'mon don't shut me out right now"

Despite the situation, Amy couldn't help herself "Doesn't feel so great, does it?" She growled out.

Feeling herself getting rapidly irked by Amy's friends, Maira urged "We don't have time for this, Amy, we have to go! They'll be safer if we're further away from them"

Without hesitating Amy roughly patted Taylor's shoulder "Okay, okay, just go already!"

It seemed that the Gryphon in disguise didn't need another word of instruction. In the blink of an eye, his feet slammed into the breaks and the car lurched, along with the girls' stomachs. The hand that Chloe had placed on the window immediately slipped away as the car sped off, kicking up dust around them once more. Oddly enough, Amy didn't feel compelled to look back but her curiosity did allow her eyes to shift to the mirror the adorable apple was dangling from. In it, among the dust, she saw the Uniter standing with her hand unmoved as if she were still holding the window except she was now joined by Paul and Alek on either side. Once again, the petty side of her mind purred at the image, the idea that she had literally left them in the dust with no clue. Every part of her flared up at the thought, tugging at her conscience; these were her friends after all, she shouldn't be enjoying it so much.

Perhaps noticing Amy's frown, the uncharacteristic knit of her eyebrows, Maira sighed "We need to get far away. Skrooll is one thing, but Furies are something else"

"What are they?" Amy asked as she came from her inner conflict back to reality.

"They're basically gods in their own right. Back in the old days, when Gods had more power than they do now, they used to dish out all kinds of judgement and punishment. Sometimes, it was considered justice and other times, well they were terrifying. Their punishments could often be so cruel that death was considered kinder. As time went on, people became more 'civilised' and the deities decided they weren't as needed anymore, their power in the world of humans was greatly cut down. I'm sure you can tell by their namesake, they were not the type of people to take it well. There are actually three primary Furies, Erinyes they were originally called, but there are a lot more of them now, probably some kind of hell-spawn sons and daughters. Even with muted powers, they're still dangerous"

"Okay, so no thank you to the Furies, got it" Amy nodded, clutching on as Taylor sped ahead.

"That may be a problem" His soft voice rushed to them, rising higher and louder than it had been "Looks like they got here quicker than I thought, they're right in front of us!" He slammed the breaks just as Maira cursed when the vision from his advanced sight came into all their views.

Chloe watched the car drive away, her heart pounding both in anger and concern. What had Amy been thinking, she had spilled the Mai's secret and then just rushed off without taking any responsibility. What was worse, she hadn't even answered any of her questions. An unease swirled around in the very pit of her stomach as the young woman realised that this was completely unlike her best friend. She had known Amy all her life and in that time, even at the toughest times, she had been endearingly loyal and honest. Sometimes, Chloe thought that she might be taking her for granted but the blonde always believed that there had been an understanding between the two of them.

Somewhere in her mind, guilty thoughts gnawed slowly about how it had been completely one sided. Her best friend had always waited for her, been understanding and patient with her and now that the same was expected of her, Chloe could only think to attack first before waiting for her to speak. A spiteful voice that didn't belong to her whispered of how she had betrayed Amy's trust and friendship without a second thought. Was she really that vicious of a person? She had only wanted to keep Amy safe. And yet you didn't even want to consider how much her safety would hurt her.

"Uh, what just happened?" Paul's voice brushed aside Chloe's inner turmoil with a loud exclamation. He had stayed frozen where Amy had stopped them only minutes ago and hadn't moved until the car had taken off. His brows were furrowed and his eyes were slightly glazed over, a look that closely mirrored Chloe's but bore more confusion than anger. Paul's breaths came in quick breaths that only just aggravated him more.

Alek had jogged easily over to Chloe's side as soon as the company had left and a sneer curled itself around his mouth "Let her go if she wants to, I told you that she was just going to cause us trouble"

"Hey, stop it Alek!" Paul leaned past Chloe and chided his Mai roommate "It seemed like something was going on, right?"

"What? You both wanted her to be gone and it looks like it worked" The blonde Mai growled with his arms folded and gripping each other so tightly that his knuckles were turing white "More importantly, that human's big mouth that spilled your secret to a complete stranger"

If Chloe had a response, they never heard it. A shrill screech, like nails clawing their way down a chalkboard, rang through the streets. The echoing din lingered even more so in Chloe and Alek's superior hearing. Without needing to search, Chloe knew the direction the smoke would be rising from. It looked like it was only a few streets away. There was no need to wonder what happened to who; both Mai had heard the voices crying in panic among the sounds of metal smashing and crashing, coming into scrapes with the concrete that the car had roughly sailed along previously.

Alek's knuckles had momentarily turned paler than snow before he tore his arms apart to take off running in the same direction as the crash. All the gusto left his body faster than he had sucked it up earlier. His grandstanding and general contempt was harsh, he knew but Chloe's human friend had irritated him as such. He too had been concerned at least when Amy had suddenly lost contact. He had found himself wondering if he had been too cruel in how he carried out Chloe's favour. But that concern had quickly slipped from his grasp when he had seen it had been for nothing. Amy hadn't been in sort of danger and his anger at being worried for yet another human came charging through.

But in the spilt second when they heard what was happening, he had felt his Uniter shudder in fear. She probably didn't even recognise the loud gasp that escaped through her mouth. And immediately his concern for Amy appeared again. Regardless of how he felt, he was never good with sorting out his feelings for humans, Chloe's fear for her friend rattled him too. The collision had sounded bad. How would they have survived?

"What's going on!?" Once again, Paul's confusion touched his voice but this time it was more shaken than before. He already had a feeling and it only intensified when Chloe tore off after Alek after uttering a shaking 'no'. His whole body refused to listen to him properly as he too tried to run after his friends. They knew something he didn't and there was only thing that it could be connected to. Only one person. He gulped in so much air that it ripped at his throat as he pushed his screaming muscles to run "Amy!"

It didn't take long for the trio to reach a nightmarish scene before them. The main body of the busted old car lay crumpled by the side of the road and debris scattered from one sidewalk to the other. Any red paint that wasn't already scraped off by the impact was slowly being licked by the flames dancing near the front of the car. Glass from the windows of the car had been shattered and strewn as far as they were standing and it crunched underfoot with every step that they took.

But there no signs of any bodies anywhere.

"Amy!" Chloe cried out but realised that someone was mimicking her exact words. Turning their heads, the trio were suddenly faced with Amy's new friend clutching the driver of the car in her arms as she sat on the ledge of a window on the ground floor as if they had just climbed through it. The driver himself was unconscious, his head lolling slightly as the girl they were introduced to as Maira lowered him down. Careful as she was with her friend, she didn't stop darting her head around the entire time as she once again called for Amy, who there was no sign of.

For the second time Chloe had been cut off from what she was going to say, or rather ask in this sense, by the another sound. Instead of a terrible crash, however, it was a sound that filled everyone's hearts with relief.

"Maira!" Amy's voice sounded out "I'm-Ah!" All their bodies turned to witness Amy half way through the window of another house.

All three friends balked at the sight; Amy wasn't climbing out of the window. She was climbing through it. The glass inside the frame had changed from it's solid substance, it was more like reflective water that warped itself around the girl's waist. The other side of the window was no longer visible and rippled with every motion that Amy made. He couldn't comprehend it and it made the hairs on the back of Alek's neck stand up. If it were anymore possible, Paul's jaw dropped even lower and Chloe had to blink rapidly to make sure that she wasn't seeing things. Only Amy's new friend seemed completely unfazed by this.

"Good girl" The Mai heard her whisper to herself before she raised her voice "Amy! Are you okay?"

There was an exasperated sigh as Amy gave one final wiggle "No! I panicked so much when you yelled at us to mirror that I barely had time to jump properly! Oh my god, is he okay?" Amy's renewed struggle to clamber through resulted in her seeing Taylor's limp form in Maira's arms. Her palms began to sweat as she took in the sight of the car wreckage and then the fact that her friends were standing not too far from Maira with wide eyes and fear on their faces.

The older demigoddess chuckled, touched by Amy's concern for someone she had just met "He'll be fine. I think he was knocked out by the moment of the impact but I managed to grab him and mirror him with me before he suffered any further damage" Then Maira's eyes also trailed to Amy's friends but she said nothing else. She only tightened her lips and held her breath. When her bright blue eyes connected with Amy's more grey-toned blue ones, she only gave a half-hearted shrug.

Amy nodded and finally spoke directly to the three spectators "You guys really shouldn't have come. But now that you're here-" She stretched her arms out with a weak smile "Can you guys give me a pull? The other side is pretty cold and I'm bare-legged here"

Chloe stepped forward with her arms crossed, slowly approaching her best friend. She wouldn't have been surprised if even those who aren't Mai could hear her heartbeat pattering away rapidly. Her voice came out slightly hoarse as she said "Amy? What's going on? How are you doing that? Why aren't you hurt? Why did the car crash? How can you do that?"

"Okay, first of all, you asked the same thing twice, and second of all, can you please just pull first and ask questions later? I can't let normal people see me like this!"

Chloe's hesitation extended all the way to the way that she reached out for one of Amy's arms. But then she looked at Amy's face. It was the same face that she had grown up with, laughed with and cried with. Her cheeks still had a habit of blushing whenever she had to apply any sort of effort that went past bare minimum and her smile was still playful and mischievous. The hand began to move faster and Chloe was encouraged when she saw another, a more masculine, hand shoot out and grab Amy's other arm. Surprisingly this arm belonged to Alek and he looked at Chloe as he pulled. The quick glances he spied at their surroundings to make sure they were clear of people and the apologetic grimace he quickly directed at Amy, one they weren't sure she saw, were enough to make Chloe smile a little as she too tugged at Amy's arm. With their combined effort, they wretched the dark-haired girl free from her entrapment and set her down gently on the sidewalk.

Paul was by her side in seconds too, looking her over with building concern "Are you sure you're alright? You're not hurt at all?"

With only a light swat of the air with her hand, Amy began to stand up properly and make her way towards Maira and Taylor "Pretty much fine, like I said I managed to mirror myself out of there before anything serious happened. If only I had more time to practice doing it properly" She noticed that as she strolled her friends had followed closely behind her with their gazes fixed on her. Maira seemed to see this too and gave Amy a questioning stare before she chose to answer her charge.

"Told you it would come in handy" She said proudly "You did really well for your first time in an emergency"

"Duh" Amy grinned "I'm a natural, remember?"

The older girl slowly lowered Taylor and began to rise. Her previously proud expression had once again turned serious as she spoke "Now if only you were a natural at fighting too. Looks like our saboteurs are showing themselves again" Her eyes had zeroed in on the centre of the street a few metres away from them. Just beyond the smoke of the wreckage, two figures were barely discernible. One was the figure of an older, small yet muscular man and and the other had thick auburn hair that billowed around her face "Just one Fury could be a problem alone but we're also going to have to fight Skrooll too"

"They wouldn't be stupid enough to attack us here, would they?"

"I don't know, maybe not Skrooll but you never know what a Fury is thinking" Maira chewed her lip. She had cast one more look at Chloe, Alek and Paul before she took a step in front of Amy "I could keep them busy while you and your friends run for it. If I can keep them on the street where they can't use their powers I might be able to hold them both off"

The words had just barely left her mouth when Amy hesitantly stepped forward. Her body was shaking but her voice was both angry and disbelieving "Are you kidding!? I'm not leaving here alone, especially when your friend is hurt. I know they're after me but leaving you to fight them off isn't going to do either of us any good. What am I going to do if something happens to you here? There isn't going to be anyone left to teach me"

Maira didn't respond, her lips only tightened but she nodded curtly. She was already taking a step toward their attackers. Her back was like a wall that suddenly seemed to cover and protect all of them and Amy could once again see that warrior's gleam in the demigoddess' eyes just like when they had first met. She was ready for a fight. Without having to see her, because she had already memorised her new friend's expressions so well, Amy could hear the cocky look appearing on Maira's face as she spoke "Really Skrooll? You really wanna get your ass handed to you again?"

Even through Skrooll hissed at Maira's taunting, using that same unnatural hiss that had preluded him showing his true form, it was the Fury who struck first. Like she hadn't been listening to Maira at all, she moved as fast as lightning. Perhaps Maira would have been able to block her somehow, if Maira had been who the opponent was targeting. To Amy's eyes everything was a blur that had her trying to prepare herself one second and then being pinned to the ground by the throat the next. She let out a gasp that came out horribly gargled as the Fury's abnormal strength began to crush her without even trying.

"Amy!" Once again the street was echoing multiple people who called out her name in panic.

Maira had tried to rush to her side to help her and it left her open to a sucker punch from Skrooll. He then charged at her with all his strength, barely able to get her off her feet as he carried her off to a nearby alley. Amy had wanted to call out but making any noise at all scratched at her throat. The corners of her eyes and mind were both beginning to blur. She tried to claw at the hand that held her down and even felt her nails tear at the skin but it did little more than loosen the vice around her neck. The strength that she was supposed have gotten from being the child of a god wasn't really showing itself yet and with almost no powers, she really was just a helpless girl. Soon she would pass out and all of Maira's effort to save her would have been for nothing, whoever 'they' were, they going to take her.

Suddenly the light of day blasted aside the darkness that was beginning to creep in on her and air flooded her lungs again. Taking in large gulps that were both refreshing and painful, she saw that the Fury had been knocked back by the force of both Chloe and Alek slamming into her. Both blondes pulled her up to her feet once again. Amy wanted to take her time in catching her breath and thanking her best friend and the Mai protector but the blow didn't keep the Fury down for long.

Amy looked between them and said "One of you needs to go and help Maira, if Skrooll's taken her out of sight then he might shape shift to his real form and she might need help"

Alek and Chloe exchanged dire looks and Alek sighed "Fine, but after this, I would really like to know what the hell is going on"

Amy's reluctant smile shined through "Promise"

Taking that to be the best he was going to get out of her, the young Mai took off towards the alley he had seen the girl being pulled into. The sounds of the crackling fire were almost completely cut off in the darkened and narrow street. It wasn't very deep and there was a large fence towering over everything on the other end, completely cutting off any exits apart from the way in. But it wasn't silent in there either, the sinister hissing noise was ringing through the entire space, reverberating off the walls. If it had been a normal person, they would have struggled to see what was really going on but Alek's eyes strained and he felt his blood run cold. A creature the likes of which he had never seen was pressed up against one of the walls. A serpent the size of a large man with horns and fur for scales was fighting the girl he had run in after.

And she herself wasn't like she was before. Maira's hair was whipping around as she jerked her body wildly to the rhythm of the whip she was using against the creature. It lashed against the fur with ferocity like Alek had never seen a weapon do. The crack of the whip was so unnatural that he had too look closer at it and when he did he realised that she was wielding a weapon made entirely of water. It rippled across itself every time it made contact with it's mark. Yet despite how brutal it seemed, no matter how many hits she landed on the serpent, there was no blood drawn from her opponent. It simply kept on pushing the creature back.

Going purely by instinct, in fear of thinking about too much about or acknowledging what was happening, Alek rushed forward. He rolled out of the way to avoid Maira's whip as it whirled close to him.

She had finally spotted him and recoiled slightly "What are you doing here!?" She demanded sharply, her eyes burning beneath their regular blue calm "Where's Amy?"

"Chloe's with her" Alek retreated a step as he noticed the creature take advantage of Maira's shock to move in closer. He prepared to pounce, his claws raised. If this girls wasn't going to attack it properly then he would. He tried to charge forward until he felt a cool sensation around his midriff. There was the whip of water wrapped around him and, with a lurch that left his stomach back where he was standing, he was pulled back to Maira's side. As the older girl released him, he rounded on her with his own eyes blazing "What are you doing!? Amy sent me here to help you!"

"And I'm helping you" The storm around her aura had receded to only leave the billowing wind of a calm warrior. Having someone else there helped to keep her reigned in. She had felt it the most with Amy, in their moments of training; the peace of rippled and disturbed sea settling down into stillness once again. Protecting someone gave her both a rush of adrenaline and tranquility that she hadn't really felt before. And she found herself thinking more about how to win rather than just fight. She placed a hand on Alek's shoulder "Trust me, we can't spill his blood, not even a drop of it. If we do, we'll be in even more trouble than fighting him. He's protected by powerful and ancient laws"

Alek looked exasperated "Then what are you suggesting? Running?" In reality he wouldn't have dismissed that notion either. Without Chloe or people he knew there to posture for, it was a little easier for him to admit that he was afraid of what he was facing.

"No" Miara smiled and turned back to look at the creature called Skrooll. He had once again begun to advance on them once Maira's whip had ceased barraging him. The long tail he possessed appeared between the two of them and with two powerful thrashes, he sent both flying in opposite directions. Maira, however, had been expecting this. As she soared, her whip wound itself around the Ophiotauras' neck just like the day she had first appeared before Amy. The power of the throw Skrooll had used on her now turned on him as the momentum also pulled him along with the whip that had grabbed him. He spluttered as he was now choking and couldn't pull apart the water holding him.

Alek had managed to shift himself enough in his descent so that he landed relatively softly on the ground, with only the wind being sucked out of him. He looked on in wonder as the girl held the creature's neck locked in a watery leash. But she was still darting around as his tail began to aim for her. Once he caught her eye, she gestured to the flailing tail. Although he wasn't sure that he got the message correctly, he jerked his head to say that he did. He leapt so that he was in the creature's line of vision and surely enough, as soon as it was clear that Alek was also fine, the tail came flying in his direction. For moment he stood still, watching it coming right at him. Not chancing anything, he rolled once again to avoid being hit. It turned out that he needn't have bothered. The air was suddenly drier than it had been when he entered the alley and when he looked at his current ally, his saw that she was now clutching another rope of water that had wrapped around the tail and stopped it's onslaught towards him. The creature snarled as it struggled against the restraints that now held it.

"Change back now Skrooll" Maira's voice was steady and strong, only betrayed by the slightest hitch "You know my threat from last time still stands. I'm not going to let you go this time. Either you surrender and I hand you over to Hera or I drop you into the ocean for eternity like I promised; it's your choice" The creature continued to fight for a few more seconds with helpless writhing before he began to give up. As he stilled, Alek watched in amazement as he began to shrink and mould himself back into the tattooed old man that had attacked them on the main street. His eyes were filled with distaste but he said nothing more. Maira adjusted her shackles so that he was secure but said nothing to him. Turning to Alek, she added "Now let's get back to Amy and that Chloe girl, they're up against a much tougher adversary than this guy" Without giving Alek time to answer her, she took off running into the light again.

As the pair emerged, they witnessed a scene that stopped their hearts. Chloe was crawling across the floor, clutching her side as the redhead held the door of the car, ripped off it's hinges, over the Uniter and Amy running towards her with a bloodied lip while screaming "No! Stop it!"

After Alek had run to help Maira, Chloe's eyes narrowed at the young woman who had attacked Amy as she was rising to her feet once again.

"So, who is this then?"

Amy shook her head "Not really sure. I know that they wanna catch me for some reason and that girl there is some kind of super powered avenger" As they both watched her, the Fury's eyes had now changed from the green they had been before to a furious gold that narrowed into slits. All around her face marks of a deep red began to appear like raw scars that had been concealed. They zig-zagged and spiralled all the way down to the nape of her neck and further down under her clothes to the very tips of her fingers.

"No way" Chloe mumbled under her breath.

Now that she was standing again, the Fury lunged once more at the pair with more aggression than she had done previously. Due to her quick reflexes, Chloe managed to shove Amy out of the way. Unfortunately it meant that the Fury's elbow lodged itself right underneath her ribs and pulled her upwards with a force she hadn't experienced before. Crying out in pain as she was knocked back and connected with the floor, Chloe saw the Fury once again aiming for Amy.

But this time, Aphrodite's daughter was much better prepared. She mustered all the scraps of training Maira had given her over the last few days to slide herself out of the way of an oncoming punch. It had been close enough that she felt the air being punctured through right next to her ear. And now she was looking into the very face of the thing that was attacking them. In the split second that they were face to face, Amy saw the face boiling with silent rage. Her mouth was hanging open in a silence that held back the sound of hundreds of screams crying for revenge. Each scar was so precisely cut and carved that her whole body told the story of her conquests. All of a sudden she wasn't looking at a young and violent girl attacking them but rather a proud warrior who was tired and haggard and chained.

As quickly as it came, the moment passed. The Fury swung her arms around and Amy couldn't fully avoid it this time. A jab that felt like it could dislocate her jaw if it had landed properly connected with Amy's face and pain like she hadn't felt before seared through her body. It was almost like she was being burned where the Fury's flesh had touched her own. It even masked the taste of copper in her mouth from the busted lip. Amy's whole body soon felt like it was on fire and she buckled under her own weight, her legs shaking.

For the second time that day, Chloe saved her friend from being taken away. When the Fury had been about to deliver another punch that would surely render Amy unconscious, Chloe had scrambled to reach any debris that would help and when she did, she launched it directly into the middle of the attacker's back. Luckily the previous attack hadn't done much to her arms which meant that when the throw hit it's target, she staggered under the force of it. Those raging eyes then turned to Chloe, sick of her interference, and every part of Chloe knew that she was in trouble. She was staring down an inferno.

The redhead stepped away from Amy and marched towards the mangled car that still lay by the side of the road. One of the doors had a window that was almost shattered. She immediately grabbed it, the glass piercing through the flesh and trails of blood ran down to mix with the bright red of the car door. Amy cringed at the action but there was no reaction from the Fury, her muscles just tensed as she began to pry the door from it's holdings. The grunts of effort were the closest thing that she's made noise so far and even those were nearly drowned out by the sound of the metal creaking. It didn't take long for the door to be free.

The Fury hauled the object, high over her head, in Chloe's direction. Realising what she was about to do and that she had to do something to stop it, Amy pulled herself to her feet and ran as fast her jellied legs could carry her.

"No! Stop it!" She hollered in a futile attempt to draw the Fury's attention away from Chloe, who was trying to crawl away before she was crushed. In the corner of her eye Amy had seen Alek and Maira emerge from the alleyway. At least they were alright but there was no way that they were going to make it to Chloe in time.

Her strength was leaving her and the whole world seemed to slow down. Amy's mind which had been racing with fear now turned to anger. What was the point in being the child of a God when it meant nothing in the end? Not only did she have to be rescued by Chloe again but she was also helpless to save her in return. Maira was right; the Gods are just petty and useless. They just caused humans more problems by getting involved with them! By this point she was close enough that she could grab the Fury with a little more effort. But it would achieve nothing, all the supposed strength that she should have gotten from her mother hadn't manifested and the Fury could just swat her like a fly. Instead she did the only thing that she could think of at the moment; she became the wall between Chloe and the Fury.

"Just stop it already and get away from us" The dark-haired girl screeched.

"Amy!" Chloe's voice choked out from somewhere behind her. Even further back, she could hear Maira and Alek screaming at her to back away. But the impact never came. In fact, no attack at all came. The entire time Amy's eyes had been fixated directly at the Fury, Amy's own disgust simmering under the surface like lava that was about to shoot from the earth, silent and tense as opposed to the Fury's explosive anger and bloodlust. Once again Amy felt like her whole body was on fire but this time it wasn't the searing pain of a hit but the inviting warmth of climbing into a hot shower on a freezing day.

The Fury's whole body had gone rigid and the door was still hanging high above their heads. She barely moved; Amy wasn't even sure that she was breathing. Every scar was once again fading away and her eyes were turning back into the gentle green hue that they had been when she and Skrooll had arrived. Even the anger had vanished from her aura, the creases of her expression ironing out to smooth skin once more. It was eerie because she held no emotion at all anymore, like a freshly made doll.

Without thinking about what it meant, Amy's hands shot out to cup the Fury's face firmly and gently. The girl gave a slight gasp at the contact but it had soothed itself into silence quickly. Amy stared directly into her eyes, her voice cool "Now leave" She commanded and slid her hands away. Without any objection, the door was set down slowly on the floor and the Fury began to take several steps back before turning her back to them and walking in the direction she and her companion had arrived from.

Everyone had watched in silence, shocked and stunned by what was happening, until the red hair of the Fury had vanished from sight into the next street. Amy's friends' voices rang all around her as Alek pulled Chloe to her feet and Maira grabbed Amy by the shoulders. Paul was shouting something from his spot where he held the unconscious Taylor. But all Amy could do was stare at her shaking hands.

Well I clearly suck at writing fight scenes, I'm sorry haha. But I hope you all enjoyed it!
