Four years after cancelling several of my fics, I'm working on finally bringing the closure that was promised. Unfortunately, after four years, I actually completely forgot what my plans for The Vice Principal in the Moon had been. I did, however, find an email I sent to a friend about what my future plans were in order for her to help me finish writing. This didn't come to pass, but I now present to you the email in its entirety:

The important thing is to keep all previous plot threads alive: we need continued appearances of Zecora on both sides and Trixie on the human side. Principal Celestia needs to keep up an active role since it's her sister we're defeating, and both Celestia and Luna should have at least some participation on the Equestria side. Fluttermac on the human side needs to progress, as does Equestria!Sunset with human!Flash, and Equestria!Flash with the absent Equestria!Twilight. Spike the dragon and Spike the dog should also be more active than they have been. Cadance and Shining Armor need to continue to appear in the human world and start appearing in Equestria. Human!Sunset should somehow be involved as well - thus far, she only suspects that she has a perfect doppelganger somewhere, she needs to learn more. Even Queen Chrysalis, who appears briefly in the first chapter, should probably have a return of some sort eventually. And Nightmare Moon must continue talking to the wind.

Nightmare Moon's overarching scheme is to bring her friend, the wind, back to life. When this is done, she will be given an army to march through the portal to take over Equestria. Most of our heroes will be under the impression that the wind is Equestria!Discord, who is also operating via human!Discord. This is not the case.

The eventual revelation, made near the end of the story, is that human!Discord is exactly what he seems to be: the corrupt director of the school board, nothing more. This will be discovered when Nightmare Moon succeeds in reviving her friend, and we learn who he is when he murders Mr. Discord: it's an enormous, sword-wielding and magic-using, human King Sombra. Sombra, we will learn, is a spirit native to neither world who has attempted to take over on both the human and pony sides, but cannot truly be destroyed: only returned to the netherworld from which he came, where he met the spirit of Nightmare Moon in the first place.

That'll be nearer to the end of the story. The other major is event is this: the two Twilights will continue to live in the other's world for the almost ninety days it takes for the portal to reopen. At that point, we get this situation: three friends from each side cross over, leaving us with two Rainbows, two Pinkies, and two Applejacks in the human world, and two Twilights, two Raritys, and two Fluttershys in Equestria. This configuration has to wrap things up and defeat all the bad guys within three days, at the end of which every character returns to their native world - including Equestria!Sunset, probably sacrificing her relationship with human!Flash - and the story ends.

Sometime during the above, Nightmare Moon crosses from the human world to Equestria and is defeated, leaving her looking like the smaller, less-magical Luna we saw in Part 2 of the very first episode. I want some kind of interaction between Princess Luna and her counterpart in all of this, both as Nightmare and as the titular vice principal. Also, at some point I want Princess Celestia to cross the mirror so we get to experience firsthand the magnificent, nine-foot-tall goddess that the principal described.

Oh, and at some point, human!Sunset has to go crazy, pick up a gun, and start trying to kill everyone whom she thinks might be from Equestria.

Oh, and there's a rule I made for myself when starting the story: no OCs. If we need a character to fill a role in Equestria, we need to find a way to make it an established character. Likewise, if we need to fill a role in the human world, we'll make it a humanized version of a canon character. In either case, we want to avoid using common backgrounders - I broke my self-imposed rule when casting Time Turner (a.k.a. Doctor Hooves) as a newscaster because I just couldn't think of anyone else who'd fit the bill. I want to stick to characters who are scripted.

That's everything. I just don't know how it's ever going to fit into something cohesive. Then again, this is also true of Part Three of RFE, but I have every confidence that if I can just sit down and list everything that's going to happen, I will put it all in the proper order. I just have to do the same thing with "VP", as we'll call it, for "Vice Principal". I'm just not quite as passionate about it - but with your help, I think we can fit it together into a real story.

So, there you have it. That's really all I got. Sorry, I really did end up not caring about this story anymore, and I know this isn't as good a closure as was probably received in my other two cancelled stories… but it's all I have. Thank you for reading.
