He truly had made an impression on the boy. Bill had expected gnomes, his sister getting attacked, something more violent than just Bill. Not him in his powerful, angry red form, but his true form. Really, there was nothing threatening about a floating triangle. Unreal, yes, but not truly scary. He was eerie and creepy, but he did not leave nightmares like a monster would.

He had expected Gideon.

Was he truly scary? Did he send shivers up the spine, give nightmares?

At least to this boy he did.

And it felt good. To this boy, he was scarier than an angry boy hellbent on revenge in a giant robot. He was scarier than manotaurs, an angry video game character, an army of gnomes combined into one, and dinosaurs. Bill was this boy's greatest fear.

He didn't have to make anything in his nightmares. He simply had to appear and Dipper would wake up screaming and sweating. All the while, Bill would watch from the shadows, forcing himself not to laugh.

Who ever said that a little fear was bad for you? The Pine Tree surely could have used more.
