Hey guys, I'm sorry about the wait. So my laptop broke about a month and a half ago, and then I went through my emails a few weeks ago on my phone and found quite a few reviews, not necessarily on this story just spread throughout others, which made a little upset and I wasn't motivated to write. But I hope that you enjoy the last chapter, and I have loved you guys as reviewers, you've been amazing :)
Graduation wasn't something that Hanna had been looking forward to like Spencer had been. The main thing she was looking forward to came after graduation, the holidays before starting at University. But even the idea of sleeping in every morning for two months wasn't enough to put a smile on her face as she went through the graduation ceremony. She forced a 'thank you' when the principal handed her her graduation certification and she managed a plastic looking smile when she huddled together for a final class photo. There were plenty of photos taken after, but she settled for a pout in most of those. Her eyes were skimming the room most of the time, looking for a certain dark haired boy. She thought she caught a few glimpses of him at the back of the room, but nothing definite.
"We going to the graduation party now, right?" Aria twirled around as they reached Spencer's car, her purple and green skirt swirling around her toned legs.
"Sure are," Emily grinned as she opened the back door. Spencer looked over her shoulder to where Hanna was trailing behind them.
"Hanna?" Spencer called back to the blonde. She looked up, her blue eyes distant. "You are coming to the graduation party with us, aye?" Hanna pursed her lips, looking down at her phone.
"Do you think…Do you think you guys could drop me off somewhere and I will just meet you there later?" Hanna asked. Aria raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing on her lips.
"Drop you off at Calebs?" She asked.
"Don't make a big deal about it," Hanna muttered.
"Anything to do with the fact he was at yours before we picked you up?" Emily grinned as her and Hanna slid into the back seat of the car.
"If things go good tonight, I will tell you all about it," Hanna promised. "And if things go badly, well…I'll be at the party soon and get completely white girl wasted."
"In true Hanna fashion," Aria grinned as they stopped outside Caleb's building. Hanna felt her stomach churn with knots as she realized they had pulled over to the curb. All eyes of her friends were on her as she stared out the window. Emily reached over, tucking a strand of hair behind Hanna's ear. Aria leaned over the seats and tugged at the collar of her dress, revealing an inch more of cleavage and Spencer gave her an encouraging smile.
"He's fucking crazy if he turns you down, babe," Emily said as words of parting as Hanna got out of the car, feeling slightly wobbly in her high heels. They pulled away from the curb, Emily and Aria turned around in their seats and grinning cheesily out the back window as they drove away. Hanna took in a deep breath as she approached the fire escape that went directly up to Caleb's loft. His door was unlocked, as she realized it always was, and she pushed it open, preparing herself for the dark eyes of the brunette boy to be sweeping over her. Except the apartment was empty, the only light coming from the TV that he must have left on when he had left. She had only caught glimpses of him at graduation, but he must be taking a long way home. She stalked over to the TV, turning it off and then switching on the lamp that was on a low table next to it. She glared around the room, at the magazines that were haphazardly spread over the end of the couch and then to an empty pizza box on the kitchen.
Caleb really was just another teenage boy.
A teenage boy who was a total asshole who thought that he could make her turn into a pile of lovestruck stupidity and then just take away all her free will as to where she wanted things to go.
Hanna's hands clenched into fists at her sides as she surveyed the room. She wasn't sure how she was feeling right now. There was definitely anger, and hurt, and confusion. And then when she heard footsteps behind her and she whirled around to see Caleb standing behind her, she felt desire, and hope, and warmth. And then when she saw his frown, the anger ran through her all over again. She stalked over to him, her arms crossed her chest.
"You are a jackass," Hanna snapped as she stopped in front of him He raised an eyebrow.
"Right," Caleb pursed his lips. "You decided to break into my place to tell me that?"
"Shut up," Hanna growled. "And it's not really breaking in if the door is unlocked—you should probably look into that for security reasons." She ran a hand through her hair and let out a long sigh through clenched teeth. "Look, I didn't…I didn't come here to fight." She licked her lips. "I came here to say that your little speech is bullshit. Complete and utter bullshit." He looked like he was going to say something so she rushed on. "You're right when you say that we're from different part of the social hierarchy. Uh, but we are in the twenty-first century, Caleb. Do you know how stupid that is to use as a reason for not being with someone? And your other reason? The fact that you think you can't have a relationship with someone that you originally noticed because you were sexually attracted to them—"
"That's not exactly what I said—"
"Actually, yeah, that's pretty much exactly what you said!" Hanna yelled. "Isn't that the first thing that attracts someone? God, I'm about a hundred percent certain when a guy sees someone for the first time and they give them the whole once over thing—they aren't thinking shit, they have a nice personality." Caleb smirked at the deep voice the petite blonde put on to imitate a male. "The first thing someone notices is her ass, or her tits, or whatever. The point is, it's perfectly fucking normal! You're a teenage guy! You're avoiding a relationship for being a normal guy."
"You realize I wasn't attracted in any way other than physical until that day I met you in the classroom? After I saw you naked?" Caleb raised an eyebrow.
"So?" Hanna's eyes were widened, obviously trying to portray she didn't care about what he was saying. "God, Caleb, I'm telling you that I don't care. I'm telling you that I want to be with you even though you seem to think we wouldn't work. I'm saying that I want to try." She narrowed her eyes. "And I just want you to know that it's totally up to you how we spend this summer."
"We?" Caleb couldn't help but feel a smile pulling at the corner of his lips even though he was trying to keep a straight face. "Sounds like you've already got it all figured out." Hanna rose on her tip-toes, her lips brushing over his jaw before her teeth grazed his earlobe.
"Well if you decide to be a stubborn asshole, then both of us are going to have a pretty shit summer because I'm just going to spend it convincing you that we should actually give us a try," she muttered, her teeth nipping at his ear and her hand rubbing over the taunt skin of his stomach underneath his flannel shirt. "But if you decide to actually listen to me and give us a chance; we can spend the summer skinny dipping at the beach…" her mouth traveled down to his neck and her hand rested at the front of his jeans. "And making out in a cabana by the pool…"
"And what happens when you go to College?" Caleb asked, but his voice sounded breathy and Hanna knew she had him.
"We figure it out as it comes," she replied, her tongue flicking out over his collarbone and he took in a sharp breath of air. Caleb gave a short nod.
"Okay," he grunted.
"Okay?" Hanna repeated, her hand rubbing over the front of his jeans firmly. "Okay, what?"
"Okay, we'll give us a try," Caleb reiterated. His hands slid under her arms, around her waist, her own hands travelling over his biceps. She could feel his arousal pressing against her but it wasn't desire shining in his eyes, it was something so much more. He licked his lower lip and ducked his head toward her, pressing his forehead against hers. "You act completely spoilt, you realize that? Coming over here and threatening to destroy my summer if I don't go out with you? Already acting like a controlling girlfriend." Hanna smiled hesitantly, and then giggled in relief.
"What I want, I usually get," she agreed with a one shouldered shrug.
"Yeah," he shook his head ruefully. "I'm gathering that." His lips pressed to hers. It was the sweetest kiss they had shared, their mouths slanting over one another. The kisses became open mouthed, but still sweet. When his tongue ran over her lips, tracing over her teeth and exploring the inside of her mouth, a bolt of electricity ran through Hanna. She let out a whimper and Caleb's arms tightened around her, holding her flush against his hard body. The kiss deepened, her hand tangling in his hair and one of his hands sliding up her back, playing over the bare skin of her shoulders. She shivered and the kiss broke. "It's a good thing I find your need to be in control endearing."
"Well no-one ever threatened to take the control away before," Hanna murmured, pulling away and grinning up at him. "And on that note, I'm taking you to a party." She pulled out of his embrace and tugged on his hand. She managed to make it away two steps before Caleb's arm locked and jerked her back.
"You're not leaving," he growled as his lips brushed over her cheek. "Neither of us are leaving for a good few hours." Hanna shivered as his hands ran down her sides and played with the hem of her dress. Hanna grinned and let him pull her backwards toward the bed. His legs buckled as they reached the bed and he tumbled onto the mattress and Hanna fell with him, straddling his lap. She grinned down at him as he lifted his head off the bed to capture her lips in another kiss, one that was much more heated this time. Hanna sighed into his mouth and then let out a yelp as he turned their bodies over so that he was on top. He kissed her again, rubbing his nose over hers softly. "Hanna…" he mumbled against her mouth.
"Mm?" Hanna sighed back.
"I'm damn glad you're such a brat."
