A/N: Originally written on June 3, 2011. I think I hear music coming from the Windy City! This is a poem to the tune of "It Will All Be Mine" from the play Pokemon Live. Pretty much everybody from "Waylaid in the Windy City" gets to make a cameo. I had to repost this story since I'm not allowed to use script format for stories on this website. Every line within quotation marks is a rewritten line from the song. Everything not in quotation marks tells you who is doing the talking. Rated K+ for intimidation and violence.

Disclaimer: Adventures in Odyssey is so not mine. And I wish I could make some pocket money with this story, but I can't.

"You Don't Have a Prayer"

"I tried to get Applesauce.

I created the perfect plan," Regis Blackgaard enunciated grandly.

"Regis Blackgaard . . ." Pinky droned apprehensively.

"But my brilliant mind was outsmarted by

Richard Maxwell, that loathsome young man," Regis Blackgaard hissed furiously.

"Regis Blackgaard . . ." Richard Maxwell laughed casually, refusing to be afraid of that man.

"But now I've discovered another computer

With government secrets to learn," Regis Blackgaard declared.

"Regis Blackgaard . . ." Greg Kelly moaned in fear.

"And neither police nor that fool Whittaker

Can frustrate my momentous return!

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha . . .

Mysteries of the nation

Are worth investigation

To find out how much they're worth.

Just how much will people pay

To see them on display?

I'll sell them to all the earth

For riches untold!

You don't have a prayer.

You're all unaware.

The demands I prepare

You will appease.

You don't have a prayer.

The secrets I bear

Countries everywhere

Will gladly seize.

I'm Blackgaard, but call me Doctor, please.

Listen well, John Avery.

Don't deny me that computer," Regis Blackgaard chuckled, exalting his triumphant mind.

"Regis Blackgaard . . ." John Avery Whittaker replied warily.

"I have the girl within my grasp.

You don't want harm to befall her," Regis Blackgaard reminded John confidently.

"Regis Blackgaard . . ." Connie Kendall laughed nervously.

"Hand over the laptop. In exchange

I'll hand over your young friend," Regis Blackgaard ordered calmly.

"Regis Blackgaard . . ." Frank Phillips muttered, confident that his lies would cover up his betrayal.

"This time I won't let you thwart my plan.

I will succeed in the end.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha . . .

With my plan's consummation,

My brilliant reputation

Will spread until there's no dearth.

Vengeance is sweet to repay.

You fools will rue the day

You witnessed Blackgaard's rebirth.

Watch my plan unfold!

You don't have a prayer.

This scheme laid with care

Shall bring me my due share:

A life of ease.

You don't have a prayer,

So before you dare

To foil my affair,

Remember she's

My hostage. You hear her desperate pleas?" Regis Blackgaard called, his eyes gleaming dangerously.

"Richard, this was never part of our plan!" John Avery Whittaker objected.

"I always meant to humiliate this man!" Richard Maxwell snarled.

"When you seek revenge, you dig your own grave!" John Avery Whittaker pleaded with the young man.

"I want him to beg for life I could save," Richard Maxwell said, the gleam in his eyes identical to the gleam in Blackgaard's eyes.

"Richard!" John Avery Whittaker warned.

"Beg!" Richard Maxwell shouted.

"If you think my operation

Is brought to negation

By artificial pistols,

You're more foolish than I thought.

This whole nation is now caught

In my stranglehold!" Regis Blackgaard shouted triumphantly. His victory was secure. Nothing could stop his brilliant plan now.

"The End"
