His Delinquent, Her Prince

Chapter 11: Bets and Deals

Touko gnawed on her lollipop, she knew she shouldn't, but she didn't give a fuck. She stared lazily at the board in front of her. After Mei's fever died out Touko was forced to go back to school by said younger sister. Not wanting to anger Mei, Touko (grudgingly) agreed to go.

"Ms. Reshiram, there's no eating in the classroom."

"I'm hungry," Was Touko's blunt response.

"You should have gotten breakfast." The blond teacher shot back.

"I did." She grinned, "Do you have anything for me today, Ms. Elesa?" She gave a pleading look.

In return the blond gave a not so amused look, "No. Now either throw the lollipop away, or stop gnawing on it and causing so much noise." She raised a blond eyebrow, daring the teen to continue gnawing the the lolli.

Touko shot her a withered look before she quite her chewing.

"Thank you."

Touko yawned.

"Are Touko and Harmonia dating?"

Mei dropped the spoon she was lifting to her lips, she stared at the bubblegum pink haired teen, her lips puckered halfway, "What."

Yancy tilted her head, "Hm?"

"What." Mei slowly repeated. The question itself still trying to sink in.

"Is Touko dating N Harmonia? Because honestly, if they're trying to keep it a secret, they're failing." Yancy giggled.

Mei shook her head slowly, her own smile growing on her lips, "No, they hate each other." She gave the shorter teen a baffled smile.

Yancy giggled, "They eye each other every chance they get."

It's true. Touko would glare holes into the back of N's head every time she got the chance, and every time N caught her glaring he would smirk at her. Touko would glare harder, only with her cheeks flushed pink.

"My sister has a crush on an asshole and she doesn't even know it." Mei wailed, "Where did I go wrong!?"

"I think it's pretty cute," Yancy hummed, "Every time Harmonia doesn't think anyone is looking he would stare at Touko, it's the cutest thing ever."

Mei stirred the soup, "My big sister, in love with an asshole—wait what?!" She snapped her head up, "He does?"

Delighted, Yancy nodded, "It's super cute! It was during lunch, Touko wasn't glaring daggers at Harmonia for once. She and Leaf were sitting at a table and Leaf said something funny and Touko started laughing," Mei could tell that Yancy was close to squealing, "I looked over and I see Harmonia staring at Touko! And it wasn't, 'just looking around' stare but 'Wow she has a really nice smile' stare!" Yancy's cheeks flushed a deep red.

"Please don't tell me you're going to play match maker..."

"But I must!" Proclaimed the usually soft talking teen, Mei shook her head. This was not going to end well. At all.

"Yancy, Touko hates N as in hate-hate, not hate-love." Mei added a little spice to the reddish soup that was now boiling.

"Oh! But I've seen the way Touko would look at Harmonia!" Yancy gave a uncharacteristic squeal.

Mei shook her head, "It's not going to work, Touko would most likely punch N." She giggled at the mental image.

Yancy giggled as well, "Denial at it's finest really." While Mei stirred Yancy added the noodles, "Are you going to participate in the battle contest?" Yancy questioned.

Mei gave a toothy grin, "But of course! I haven't been in a battle for a while!"

"And I'm sure Touko is participating as well?"

Mei laughed, "Definitely, no question about it." She lifted the spoon to taste the soup, "If there's anything Touko loves the most in this world it's battling." She smiled fondly.

"Oh!" Squealed the teen, "You make me want a older sister!"

Mei smiled, "Touko can be stubborn most of the time, but she's a great person."

Touko sneezed as the bell dismissed the class.

"I'm scared that if I bless you I'll end up preforming an exorcism on you." Roxie grinned.

Touko sniffed and sent the silver haired teen a rude gesture, "My demon said fuck you." She gathered her books and threw her backpack over on shoulder, "Are you going to escort me, my prince?" She batted her eyelashes.

Roxie snorted, "Fuck no, I need something from you."

Touko rolled her eyes, "What ever may you need?"

"I need you to win the tournament at lunch." Said Roxie, ever so bluntly.

Touko frowned, "I'm going to win that tournament, but why?" She moved her shoulder so she wouldn't bump into a student going the opposite direction.

"There's all kinds of bets going around, and of course, I'm the one running the whole thing," Roxie gave a proud smirk, "About half the school is betting on you."

Touko rose an eyebrow, "Only half?" She tried not to sound bothered, "Who's the other person they're betting on? Everyone knows I'm the best Pokemon trainer!"

"Incorrect as ever, commoner." Said a voice behind them. Touko could practically feel the egotistical tone.

Touko glared over her shoulder, "Fucker." She spat. She felt Roxie jolt, she looked down to see Roxie sending her warning glares.

"Nice to know you advanced your vocabulary from 'asshole' to, as you put it so elegantly, 'fucker'." N smirked, arms crossed ever so self-centered.

Touko clenched her teeth, "Fuck you," She turned her body to face him, "So you're the other trainer people are betting on? Like hell you're better than me." She sneered.

"Childish," N droned, "But I will have you know I am a very respectable trainer."

Touko rolled her eyes, "Yeah, sure. There's no way I'm going to lose to you." She paused to notice that the entire hallway had stopped to watch them. As if expecting something.

N smirked, "Then how about a wager?"

"Uh what?" Touko grimaced in her mind for how stupid she sounded.

N's smirked dropped and he rolled his eyes, "A wager, a bet." He said slowly.

"Oh." The information sank in, Touko smiled sweetly. "No."

N looked taken back, "What?" He frowned.

"Fuck no, I'm not going to bet whose going to win," She jabbed her finger into N chest, "Because I am going to win no matter what! And I am not going to lose to the likes of you! Mark my words N Harmonia!" She huffed and turned around, stomping away with Roxie at her heels.

Hyuu smiled next to N, "Feisty, is she not?" He glanced at the Harmonia heir, he had a fond smile on his lips as he watched her go.

N quickly shook his head and his smile dropped, twisting to form a frown, "Feisty and annoying more like it," He briskly turned around and continued down the hall. Hyuu behind him with a knowing smile.

"If you say so."

"What the hell is wrong with you!" Roxie barked, "No one messes with Harmonia! What the fuck?! You called him a fucker, sure I can expect that when we're alone, but I never thought you would say it to his face!"

Touko shrugged, "Why wouldn't I? Hate the damn bastard."

Roxie shook her head, "Leaf is going to lose her shit when she finds out."

As if by cue:

"TOUKO I AM LOSING MY SHIT WITH YOU!"

"Fuck!" Hissed said brunet, "Gotta run, see you at lunch!" Touko quickly sprinted away, wanting to stay in one piece thankyouverymuch. She turned a corner and like that, she was gone.

"Where is she!? Where's the bitch who wants an early death?!" Raged the long haired brunet. Roxie could almost see the steam coming out of Leaf's nose.

"You just missed her actually," Said Roxie with a grin, "She said something about wanting to live?"

"She'll be begging for death when I'm done with her," Leaf huffed as she crossed her arms, "She has no idea who she's messing with."

Roxie rolled her eyes, "You're telling me, she called Harmonia a fucker right to his face."

Leaf's eyes turned huge, "She what."

Roxie slapped a hand to her lips, "S-She uh..."

"She called Harmonia a fucker?" Said Leaf in a quite tone.

Roxie nodded her head, suddenly in fear for Touko's life.

Taking a deep breath, she smiled.

Oh no. Roxie started sweating. Not good.

"Roxie dear, I need you to do me a errand," Leaf said sweetly.

"Suure?" Roxie dragged her 'u' more than necessary.

"Can you go fetch me my mallet?"

"S'up Gramps," Touko called as she entered Alders office.

"Touko, what a pleasant surprise." Said man greeted in surprise.

"So Leaf is kinda trying to kill me right now, and I'm pretty sure Cheren is too. So is it okay if I stay here until lunch?" Touko grinned.

Alder chuckled, "Sure, but only if you help me sort out files and such."

Touko pouted, "Fine. Say, do you have any lollipops? I'm hungry." She sat in one of the twirly chairs placed in front of the wooden desk Alder was sitting behind.

Alder smiled, but he shook his head, "No, you took the last one yesterday."

Touko gave a sound of displeasure, "When will you buy more?"

Alder shrugged as he passed a folder to Touko, "I don't know. Can you put that over there please?" He gestured to a metal cabinet, "The third one please."

Touko stood up and took the folder. She opened it and skimmed the name before opening the cabinet and placing it in its alphabetical order, "I got fired..." Touko said quietly, hoping that the older man didn't hear. But he did.

"Touko!"

She whirled around, "But it's fine!" She said quickly, "I managed to get an interview to work at the grocery store nearby." She waved her hands at chest level, hoping to calm the standing man.

"When?" He asked, sitting back down.

"After school today," Touko bit her lip, "Though I had to lie about my age a little bit."

Alder shook his head, "You should let me adopt you," He said gently, "Please, Touko. You can't maintain your sister and yourself at the same time."

Touko frowned and her shook her head, "I can't, I won't let you. We're fine, I still have a little left over money for a couple more months."

"What will you do after the money is gone?"

Touko rolled her eyes, "I'll have a job by then, jeez, I'm not a child."

Alder shook his head slowly, he let out a breath of air, "Fine, but if you ever need anything please come to me, I'll help you."

Touko smiled, "Of course, Gramps."

"And stop calling me that, you make me feel old." He rolled his eyes.

"I see new gray hairs on you everyday. You're old." Touko said cheekily.

"Here, take these files to room 3." Alder said quickly, shoving some yellow folders onto Touko's arms.

"You can't get rid of me that easily! I will be back!" Was what Touko proclaimed as she stomped out the door. No sooner had she left did another person walked in.

"Popular as ever, Mr. Alder?" Said the long blond haired woman.

Alder gave a flirty smile, "Cynthia! My favorite girl in the world."

Cynthia crossed her arms, "I take it you've already placed your bet on Touko?"

Alder choked on air, "You know about that?!"

Cynthia rolled her eyes, "I know everything that goes in the teacher lounge." She leaned on the door frame, "I have my bets placed on Harmonia."

Alder gave her a wolfish grin, "If he loses will you agree to go on a date with me?"

Cynthia gave a short laugh, "If he loses. Which I highly doubt. Touko is a great trainer, I myself had difficulty beating her, but Harmonia has had years of training with top notch trainers. It won't be easy beating him."

Alder nodded his head in agreement, "Ay, but you see, Touko has a great bond with her Pokemon. Maybe even greater than Harmonia's."

Cynthia smiled, "We'll see, Mr. Alder," She pushed herself off the door framed and walked down the hall, "We'll see." She said.
