SORRY! Ya know - life - happened :'/
Logically, Kurt knew that he was not entirely to blame for what happened between he and Blaine; however, that didn't stop him from feeling guilty about the situation. He knew that he should have read the situation better. He knew that he shouldn't have reacted like that. He also knew that they needed some time, just the two of them, to reconnect.
Communication had not been their strong suit in that past, which was why they spent the last week doing nothing but talking with each other. No sex; nothing. They spent the last week telling each other every little minute detail that they could possibly think of so that they could try to avoid a situation like the one they'd just experienced in future.
Kurt learned important facts about his boyfriend. For instance, he learned that Blaine had long fought against his insecurities, ever since he was a child. He also learned that he played first base in little league – how adorable is that? – and that he wanted to have the "American Dream". He wanted to have the husband, the two point five kids, and the house on the hill with the white picket fence. They talked about how Blaine had wanted to be an entertainer, that he loved to sing and dance, but the first time he picked up a makeup brush to help Aubrey when she did her makeup for the first time – it was mostly clean up cuz damn – he fell in love and never looked back.
Kurt told some things to Blaine that he never really shared with anyone. He told him about his mental state in high school. He really had a hard go at it for a while, and as crazy as his friend drove him at times, they were the main reason that he is still there today. They talked about how Kurt wanted the same with the family but it actually terrified him. He was afraid that he would never be able to step in his father's shoes and be a good dad. Blaine made him feel better by telling him that he felt the same, and that was the good thing about not being at that place in life yet; they had more than enough time to learn.
In the past week Kurt realized that he had never been more in love than he was at that moment with Blaine. He had to do something to bring them back to where they were. No. Not where they were but rather better than they were.
Hey Babe! Do you have any plans this weekend? – Kurt
Nope, hopefully just seeing you. I somehow managed to get all weekday shifts this week – there may have been begging and tears involved. – Blaine.
And why were you begging and crying? – Kurt
Because, my love, I wanted to spend it with you. – Blaine
Well good. Don't make any plans. From Friday night at 8 until Sunday at 11 you are all mine. – Kurt
Why until just Sunday at 11? – Blaine
You'll see. Bring comfortable clothes and a bathing suit. – Kurt
? – Blaine
I love you! See you tomorrow! Xoxo – Kurt
I love you too… - Blaine
By the time Blaine got to Kurt's apartment Friday night Kurt was already packed and ready to go.
"Will you please stop running around the place like a mad man and leave already? If you forgot something you can always come back home. You're going fifteen minutes away!" Santana shouted at her friend who was pacing nervously across the room.
"But…"
"But nothing Kurt. Go enjoy your weekend. I happen to know that you need this weekend to get your groove back, because that room has been very quiet and smelling fresh as daises lately." Kurt side eyed her but kept silent. "And, I already took the liberty of adding extra condoms and lube to your duffle. You are all set for a long weekend of sucking, fucking, and all that good shit."
"Sometimes I really hate you."
Here – Blaine
"You love me. Now hurry up I have company coming over and I need to get my lady mack on."
"Don't you dare have sex in my bed." He said with a glare and Santana all put pushed him out of the door.
"Don't worry! I'll change the sheets!" She yelled as she slammed the door before he could reply.
Kurt shook his head as he threw his duffle over his shoulder and ran down the stairs to the parking lot. Sometimes he didn't know how he lived with her.
He saw Blaine's car right by his and he jogged over to the driver's side to plant a kiss on Blaine's lips through the window.
"Hey baby!" Kurt said happily. "So do you want to take my car or am I driving yours?"
"Where are we going?" It killed Blaine not to know where they were going.
"You will see in a few minutes."
"And why should I let you drive my car?"
"Because a sexy car needs a sexy driver."
Blaine rolled his eyes with a smile. "Well then, I guess I have to give up the reigns."
Their playful banter continued, with only a few awkward pauses here and there, as they drove to their destination. Things were slowly starting to get back to normal, much to their happiness. It is going to take a lot of work and trust to get back to be not only what they once were, but ameliorated.
It wasn't long before they were pulling into a tiny driveway behind three other cars at, what appeared to be, a house in West Hollywood.
"Where are we?" Blaine asked as he took in his surroundings.
"Oh just a little hotel your sister told me about."
"You talked to my sister about what hotel to take me to?" He asked with a sly smile and a raised brow.
"Who else am I supposed to ask? I only really associate with you guys and Santana here and Santana knows about as much as I do about the area. I want this weekend to be perfect for you."
"Kurt, any time I spend with you is perfect."
"This is different." Kurt replied, his tone sotto voce.
"I know. I love you. And trust me when I say that this weekend means more to me than I could ever possibly express to you." Blaine leaned over the console to kiss Kurt lightly on the lips before opening his door to step out. They wordlessly took their bags out of the trunk and linked hands before walking over to the key-coded door.
Blaine took in his surroundings as they walked down the outdoor pathway to the mail desk, the outdoor carpeting covering the metal flooding that shook when they walked. "Well it's a good thing we don't have to sneak around because we would be all kinds of caught out with this floor."
Kurt smiled a genuine smile and held his hand a little tighter. When they got to the front desk, Kurt took a moment to stop and look over the veranda and the pool area. It was gorgeous. The veranda had wrap around seating with pillows galore. The pool was nice and clean with a spa area towards the back of it. The entire deck was covered in deck chairs, some of which were taken by sun bathers enjoying the last bit of the Los Angeles summer heat before it became a cool New York spring day for the remainder of the year.
They were checked in by a pleasant man around their age and were shown the way to their room. They had a deck front room with a semi-private deck area overlooking the pool. They wordless unpacked side by side, each with delicate smiles on their faces.
The two men's spirit filled the silent room with song and the energy sparked through them like electricity in a storm. This weekend is going to be just want was needed.
Blaine was busy putting some wine in the room's mini fridge when he felt a cool breeze against his cheek and a flapping noise next to him. He looked over said saw Kurt re-making the bed with his own linens. "Um, Kurt what are you doing?" He asked with a laugh.
"I always bring my own sheets when I go to hotels. I have a thing about communal linens and hotel ones just aren't comfortable. Well at least hotels like this – The Ritz is another story entirely." Kurt replied matter of factly and Blaine just nodded. Of course.
Blaine continued to watch Kurt as he pulled an odd shaped bag out of his duffle. To be honest, he wondered why Kurt had two bags for a weekend trip but he now had his answer. "Babe, is that a SpaceBag?"
Kurt smirked and opened the bag, watching as the air filled the bag and it started to rise. "Why yes, yes it is. This is Santana's blanket. I washed it and packed it. I wasn't about to put my comforter in this bag. Hers is just a Wal-Mart special." Blaine rolled his eyes. It was the small idiosyncrasies that made Blaine fall more in love with Kurt every day. Kurt was his own brand of human and he owned it. And that, Blaine couldn't get enough of.
After Kurt made the bed he grabbed something out of the drawer and ran into the bathroom to freshen up. By the time he came out, not even five minutes later, Blaine was cuddled into Santana's blue light special – oh wait, that's Kmart, whatever – and was waiting for Kurt with arms wide open.
"No, no, no Blaine. We are not getting in bed quite yet."
"Not like that Kurt, I just want to be with you."
"I know my love, but we still have all night. I was thinking some cuddling and wine on the double chaise poolside."
Blaine reluctantly got himself up. "Well I suppose I can be persuaded to do that. Let me just throw on some shorts and a comfortable shirt."
Ten minutes later and the two were cuddled up arm in arm in the double chaise arms and legs intertwined. There were a few guests walking around back and forth, holding their own conversations, and laughing to their own stories. Kurt smiled watching them out of the corner of his eye. Everyone here was happy and relaxed the vibe was spreading like a wild fire. It wasn't long before Kurt himself was limp limbed in Blaine's embrace.
"Mmm, I am so glad that you brought me here Kurt. It's no nice to just be with you. No sisters, no Santana, no Cooper. Just us."
"I will admit, it was one of my better ideas."
"I love you so much, I just hope you know that." Blaine said as he cupped Kurt's cheek to pull his face gently towards himself to look him in the eye.
"I do and just know that I love you to. You are my best friend and my partner. This is about us." Kurt brought his lips to meet Blaine's without a moment's hesitation. They kissed tenderly and passionately as the rest of the world faded away. They were in a safe place, a haven of sorts, where they could just be themselves and with each other in the moment.
After a few moments they pulled apart blinking to clear their eyes. "Come on Blaine, let's go back inside."
"Okay." He whispered as he reached up to take Kurt's had.
I think we're going to be okay.
