Wow! Look how far the time has gone by! I'm sorry for not getting to this sooner. I will get back to the requests, but so you guys didn't have to wait any longer for a chapter, I did my own. This one isn't funny, but meant to fit the family genre a bit better.

9. Green with Envy

I don't own Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. If I did, this would be a spin-off manga, not some AU.

Pride-20 (all cap out at this age)

Lust-19

Sloth-18

Envy-14

Greed-13

Gluttony-11

Lust could tell something was wrong. She couldn't put her finger on it though. Mind you, even Gluttony could tell something was off.

Envy was sitting there, at the table stirring his cereal with his spoon. Gluttony walked up-more like waddled with his weight-with his bowl of cereal.

"Trade?"

Well, it was the thought that counts.

"Gluttony, I don't think the food is what Envy's moping about." Pride rolled his eyes.

"Shut up!" Envy snapped quietly, so Father wouldn't hear them fighting.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Here's everyone's favourite lady-killer!" Greed burst the door open. Casting an expecting look at Envy, it was soon replaced by confusion.

"What? No snarky comment?" Greed was incredulous. Lust was concerned. Usually the day started with bickering from the two. While she was grateful for the silence, it was too quiet for her liking.

"Go away…"

"Nuh-uh palm tree! I may not be Gluttony, but there is some darn amazing cereal in that cupboard!"

Envy let out a heavy sigh. He had done it before, but this time, he sounded a bit more irritated.

"Don't talk to me." He muttered. Greed raised an eyebrow. Lust fought back a scowl of her own.

"Why? You're talking to me. What's gotten into you?"

"…I don't want to talk about it."

There was something about how Greed's expression changed, as if he knew something. Lust filed it away, prepared to ask him about it later. Though from the sly smirk, she figured they may be learning now. Slowly activating her claws under the table, she prepared to break them up.

"So you're not interesting enough, huh? Funny, you're the most exotic being on this planet. I mean, with that thing and all. You know, with the…"

Without a second's s notice, Envy had launched himself across the table after their brother, pounding him with his fists.

"YOU DON'T JOKE ABOUT THAT! YOU DON'T JOKE ABOUT THAT YOU…!" He finished the sentence with a shriek. She saw one of his arms transforming-no doubt into a weapon and yanked the older boy off.

"Envy." Lust spoke firmly. "You need to calm down. This is childish." He struggled to get free, but he wasn't getting out of this that easy. "I will take you to your bedroom and we will talk about what happened." With the still struggling boy in her arms, she hauled him to his room.

When she got there, she was surprised to see all the glass on the floor. She was glad that he kept his room clean-unlike Sloth or Gluttony-or else this would be harder to clean up. Making sure that the only part that touched the glass was the points of her stilettos, she directed them both to his bed and she kept him on her lap. While she waited for him to stop, she noticed the mirror was broken-thus the source of the glass. Lust noticed he had slowed his struggle and took him off her lap and he sat beside her.

"Do you want to tell me what's going on?"

"Isn't it obvious?" His eyes squinted.

She did have an idea, but she'd rather he tell her. "Well, I'm not a super-genius like you." She smiled softly.

He was silent for awhile. Then, with his eyes cast on the ground, he looked down. "…Do you think I look ugly?"

She was taken aback-though on a forethought, it shouldn't have been that surprising he asked.

"Nonsense. You're handsome. For a brother." She ruffled his hair.

"You're my big sister. It's your job to say that."

"You are confusing mom and big sister. Technically, if I was doing my job right, I'd say 'yes'-just to upset you. However, I don't like those type of siblings, so I like to be honest. No you are not ugly. Where did you get that idea?"

He was silent for a while more. So she was silent. Finally, he broke the silence.

"Catherine…"

She raised an eyebrow. "Who is Catherine?"

"…A friend…" He blushed, however-which gave away exactly what he was thinking. "I….asked her out…but she said no."

"Is that why she said no? Did she tell you that?"

"No, but I figured it out myself."

Ah. There it was.

"People don't fall in love just for the looks. If she thinks of you as a friend, she can't hate you." Lust pulled him closer to her.

"B-but the thing…" She heard a bit of a sniff and she knew something had to be done.

"Envy, look at me." She grabbed his head gently and positioned it to look her right in the eye.

"Just because it is a part of you doesn't mean it is you. You are not defined by that part of you. No one can define you other than yourself. They can try to help, and some are better than others, but that's up to you. I'm going to try to help myself. That monster is not you."

He launched himself into her and she held him close.

"There, there, it's alright."

All of a sudden, she heard the running of footsteps and a few indignant sounds. Soon, in front of the doorway was a young girl and Greed. Both were panting, and a bit thrown off by the sight in front of them.

"…Envy?" The young girl asked.

She felt him grip tighter. Lust looked up at Greed, glaring. What was he thinking bringing her here?

Greed seemed to ignore her. "Catherine, tell him what you told me."

She huffed. "The reason I said no to you was because I don't want to be with anyone. You two are my best friends, but there is a lot of pressure where I am to settle down. I want to explore. I don't want to settle. I don't want to fall in love. Besides, we're only fourteen." She spoke very awkwardly, but Envy turned around to her.

"…I wish you had told me that sooner…"

"To be honest, your question threw me off guard. Sorry for yelling no. That must have been mean. I was still in shock when your brother got to me. Mind you, the flowers you shoved into my face didn't help."

Envy got off her lap, wiping at his eyes with a strange embarrassed smile.

Lust noticed Greed looking around awkwardly, constantly adjusting the collar of his shirt. She had to suppress a chuckle, remembering that Greed couldn't handle any form of emotional quantity. Before he tried to "fix" the situation, she gently shooed him out. He looked at her in the utmost gratitude, and all but ran out of the room.

Boys….

Catherine shuffled her feet. "So…are being friends okay?"

Envy grinned-this was better than what he thought she had been thinking. "Yep!"

She nodded awkwardly, and then flashed her teeth in a smile. "Well then…see you later!" Lust didn't hide her grin that time. So it wasn't just Greed. Turning to her brother, who was smiling quietly, she slapped him on the back.

"Next time, let me give you some pointers."

Lust walked out laughing uproariously when her brain made the connection of his current facial expression to a tomato.

I actually started this one earlier, but I wasn't sure if I liked it. However, you guys need something and this one isn't too bad.
