While Loki held the fort down in America, Robin went to England to check on Jane. Somehow she had the worst feeling that the girl would end up in the middle of whatever was stirring.

"Hello Jane, how's tricks?" she asked.

"If you don't mind Robin, I'm going to be late for my blind date," said Jane. She didn't look too enthusiastic.

"And miss Thor? Besides he'll be back on Earth soon enough," said Robin.

"What?!"

"The bifrost was fixed months ago. Thor's been off cleaning up since some idiots tried to take advantage of Asgard's sudden lapse in attention. Hell, Loki's living on Earth now teaching school children!"

"LOKI'S HERE?!" shrieked Jane. She had nothing against him, but she was pissed by proxy for New York and what he did to Selvig.

"Yes, and I've been keeping him on a leash. He is my husband after all. And before you ask, once we find out which police station they took Selvig I'll make sure he makes a formal apology, despite being under control himself at the time," said Robin, unfazed by Jane's anger.

Suddenly Jane noticed her device going off.

"No, no, no! Not today of all days!" she said in horror.

Robin immediately called Loki.

"Loki, when did you say this Convergence was supposed to start? Oh, and you didn't think this information would have be useful a week ago?" said Robin in annoyance.

Jane shot her a look.

"According to my dear husband, who will be going without for a week for not warning me about this sooner, there is an event that occurs ever five thousand years called the Convergence. All Nine Realms, including Asgard, are put into perfect alignment. I suspect your device is picking up on a soft area where two of the worlds meet, though I have no idea which world you might land in if you're not careful."

"You coming with me?"

"Absolutely. If only to mock Thor about a certain fainting spell he had recently," smirked Robin.

"Thor fainted?"

Robin may not be a full Aesir yet (she had the powers of one, but the conversion from human to Aesir took time and prolonged exposure to Asgard...she was lucky she got the power boost despite being away for so long) but she was the wife of Loki, known prankster and the daughter, niece, sister and goddaughter of the worst pranksters Hogwarts had ever seen. She was not above blackmail material, or embarrassing her brother-in-law.

And so she regaled the tale of how both Thor and Loki had fainted from shock upon learning they had met Hermes, who was Loki's son...and how Frigga, their mother, had captured the event on film. Darcy was laughing hard when she heard about Thor fainting from meeting a kid.

"That does it! From now on Darcy is never allowed to drive again!" shouted Robin once they were safely on the ground. Darcy was a menace on the road...how the hell did she even get her license?! Jane nodded in complete agreement.

They walked into the warehouse, not really knowing what to expect.

Even Robin was impressed when the child set the truck spinning with no magic or muscles involved.

Up in Asgard...

"How is she Heimdall?"

"She is safe...Lady Robin is with her at the moment, seeking to guide her down the correct path that she seeks so desperately. However, something bothers me. They are close to a breach," said Heimdall.

Normally he wouldn't say as much, but with Lady Robin guiding Jane to the information she sought, it was inevitable that Thor would become involved, if only because Loki would be as well.

Suddenly Heimdall's eyes flew open wider than Thor had seen before.

"They've vanished! The breach itself sucked them in!" he said in shock.

That should be impossible! Why would the breach, a minor point through which two worlds could meet, drag Robin and Jane in?

"Ow...that sucked," joked Robin.

"Where are we?"

"Hang on... Okay, good news and bad news. Which do you want?"

"Good news."

"The air is breathable and we're still alive...plus this place is totally barren. Want the bad news?"

Jane nodded.

"Neither of us have a signal. I can't even get a hold to Eric on Nephilim, which should be impossible!"

"What's Nephilim?"

"A world I've been terraforming, with a lot of help from mutants and magicals. They couldn't agree on what to name it, so I had to come up with something that didn't offend anyone or make it look like I was favoring one half over the other. Hence Nephilim."

"Isn't that the term for a half-human, half-angel?" asked Jane.

"Yes. Why do you think I picked that as the name? Nephilim are a bridge between the divine and the lower mortals, and the world I'm talking about is a sanctuary for mutants and magically inclined alike, both of which don't get along with the regular world which you live in without a fight. It's better for a world to be designated for those with unusual gifts now, while the normal humans are getting used to the idea, than to have them shunted off to some barren wasteland."

"Good point...wait, mutants exist?"

"Do you have anything against mutants?"

"I date Thor. I can handle a mutant, though I might stare at first," admitted Jane.

"Good point. Anyway this compact would allow me to contact anyone on Nephilim that's part of the council. If we can't get a hold of them, then this place must be cut off from the Nine Realms. Let's see if we can't find an escape route."

"What in the world?" said Jane.

They had stumbled across some weird pillar that gave Robin a bad feeling. Jane saw something red and moving inside, and like any human, put her hand within reach of it. Robin grabbed her hand right as whatever was inside the pillar struck.

She felt something dark and cold enter her body, and the two collapsed briefly. Robin recovered first, and managed to get Jane outside of the breach before she felt the magic holding it open slam closed.

She looked outside and winced.

"Oh bloody hell...Jane wake up! We've been missing for hours!" said Robin with a grimace.

"WHAT?!" shrieked Jane.

"Take a long look at the sun. Before we were sucked it, it was barely overhead. Now's it close to the top of Big Ben. I'm not genius, but even I know it takes several hours for it to get that far."

Jane looked at her phone, which had updated the time thanks to satellites. She blanched.

"We've been missing for five hours?!"

"And knowing my luck, both Loki and Thor will be waiting to mother hen us," said Robin.

She was entirely correct. She managed to avoid most of the deluge by being next to Jane, but the second she saw Thor she had a grimace. Mostly because Loki was right next to him.

"What happened?" asked Loki, concern evident in his voice.

"We were sucked into a breach. I don't know where, but it wasn't anywhere in the Nine Realms. I couldn't even get a hold of Eric on Nephilim, so it must have been sealed off," said Robin.

"Did anything unusual happen?" asked Thor.

"There was something there, both Jane and I were infected by something. I don't know what it is, but my magic is currently keeping it contained. Whatever it is, we need to get Jane to Asgard."

"What about you?" asked Loki.

"We are going to find Eric Selvig and get him out of wherever the police threw him. Something tells me he might have an idea of what we need to do," said Robin. Loki winced.

"Shouldn't you be heading back with us?" asked Thor.

"Jane's in a bigger danger. She doesn't have magic or any technology to isolate what we're dealing with, Asgard does. Like I said, my magic contained it almost immediately and is waiting for me to decide what to do with it," said Robin.

Loki fretted, but knew she could handle herself. She had for five years and with a kid to worry about after all.

Eric Selvig was in a fine mood, once his craziness finally ended long enough to realize who had retrieved him from the insanity ward the cops had dumped him in.

Hearing Loki pretend to be his son apparently was enough for him to laugh, hard, in the god's face. Loki was less than amused.

Robin made sure that the man at least wore boxers, even if he believed himself naked.

Once Darcy had Eric in hand, they headed to Asgard.

Loki found himself face-to-face with Heimdall.

"How bad is it?" he asked. He knew Jane had already seen Eir, so they should have an idea of what they were dealing with.

"It appears Miss Foster has the Dark Elves last weapon inside of her," said Heimdall.

Loki blanched.

"What weapon?" asked Robin sharply.

"The Dark Elves had a weapon which would infect all the Nine Realms and turn the worlds dark. It was pure darkness, unbound and unchained. Odin's father sealed it away outside the Nine Realms...though thanks to the Convergence you two accidentally stumbled through that crack."

Robin swore. Suddenly Hel's message made far too much sense.

"What?"

"Hel's message...in the series the Lord of Nightmares was the strongest of the 'dark lords' and was light in a sea of chaos. She is known as 'darker than deepest pitch, blacker than darkest night'. Hel must have known the Convergence would accidentally reveal the weapon."

Which meant that Robin would have to convert this weapon made of darkness in it's purest form into light. Great...

Robin was taking a nap inside one of the gardens, for the sun was rather warm on her skin. Odin was unaware of what she intended to do, or how she planned to do it.

Robin knew Thor very well. He would see Jane safe from the darkness even if it meant giving up the weapon the Dark Elves sought.

But Robin had something Jane didn't...magic and a very thorough understanding of how to convert one form of energy into another. It was why she had been able to grasp the concept of Asgardian magic so quickly.

And so she meditated.

She found the darkness easily enough...her magic was as much a part of her as her son. The Dark Elves had outdone themselves when they created this energy...it was pure, untainted by morals. It simply was.

This Dark King would taint such a pure energy for his own whims, uncaring that in order to exist, darkness must be balanced by the light. Which meant it was up to her to give form and reason to that light.

The darkness sensed her intent, not to destroy as Odin would, but to change.

She knew the spells from the series very well indeed, and it would be draining to cast them. But in the end she would give Asgard a way to defeat this problem without destroying the host.

She opened her eyes. Time to get to work.

Helheim

Hel looked at her sister with fondness. Robin really was her favorite out of all those who had shared her father's bed, which admittedly was few and far between.

Robin was concentrating on changing the Dark Elves precious weapon into a counter and was using a cartoon of all things for inspiration.

Yes most of the energy would be used in converting this dark energy into golden light, but she had to do something with the parts that didn't change.

In this case she was creating the Monster race from scratch, starting with her favorite, Xellos.

Slowly but surely, the Monster took form under her hand. When he opened his purple eyes and saw her, he bowed.

Robin had no idea that her coloring had changed from red to gold or that she looked like the literal Lord of Nightmares when it possessed Lina Inverse.

Considering her true Aesir form had yet to settle, it was likely that this trick would alter her appearance whenever she reached into her divine magic.

When Thor tapped into his core, it became lightning and storm clouds. When Loki did it, it became an illusive shadow, never settling on one form or another. When Hel did it, she touched the ability to control life and death.

Hel suspected that Robin's power lay not in rebirth, as Odin believed, but in creation.

Robin opened her eyes in the world of the living just in time to hear the klaxons go off and warn of the prisoners escaping.

Things just went from bad to worse.

"Frigga!" said Robin, rushing in after the dark elf stabbed her. Her newly created 'Monster' Xellos threw a few parting fireballs at the elves while Robin focused her energy on the queen. Thor would have gone after them, but Odin held him back.

Frigga took a deep gasp of air as the magic sustained her body. Since Robin had gotten to her as quickly as she had, she could hold Frigga away from Valhalla until her body was able to keep her alive without help.

Odin clapped her shoulder, grateful that she had saved his wife's life.

Frigga would have to be put into a medical coma until her body was well enough to move.

"Where's the best place to put her?"

"My chambers. I have a shield around the bed for when I must go into Odin sleep," said Odin. It also had any number of alarms that would go off if his condition in any way went south. Robin hissed at her husband who was quick to help her carry Frigga while she kept her magic around the injured woman.

Odin, after he checked on his people was in a right fury over the fact that the Dark Elves had invaded his realm.

There would be hell to pay, Robin was absolutely sure of that much.
