I haven't been on here since 2015… I completely forgot all about this story and my online writing life. I never realized how important it was to me at the time, and I honestly miss it, so I'm going to attempt to get back into it. Starting, with this story. However, I am a full time college student now and I'm not really sure how good I will do with updating frequently and actually keeping up with writing, so please bare with me.

Here goes nothing:

Kassidy woke up to the sun shining on her face, and an empty spot next to her. She slowly blinked as she sat up in the bed, looking around the room. She never got a good look at the room the night before, but she wasn't surprised to see that it was pretty plain. The walls were a pale tan color with small spots of chipped paint. There were no poster or pictures on the walls, and the only furniture in the room was the small bed she was in and a beat up desk in the corner. There were two small doors, one being the door to leading to the hall one, and the other what she assumed was a closet.

Kassidy ran a hand through her tangled hair with a sigh. She wished Jack was her, but she knew that he would be happy she at least got out. She wondered when Spot left the room, and frowned a little in embarrassment. She didn't mean to wake him last night, and was a little embarrassed that he saw her cry. Kassidy didn't have more time to worry about Spot because her attention was brought to the door leading to the hallway. She could hear quiet creaks in the floor boards and hushed voices. Kassidy threw the warm blankets off of her body and made her way to the door. Being as silent as possible, she pushed the door open to peak into the hallway.

"Race? Mush?" She asked, opening the door up fully. Kassidy couldn't stop the smile that made its way to her face. She definitely missed seeing the boys everyday when she was gone.

"Kass! We were just coming to check on you," Mush said, smiling back at the girl. "There's some food downstairs and we figured you would be hungry."

Kassidy didn't realize how hungry she was until Mush mentioned food, "Yeah, I could eat."

Racetrack lightly grabbed Kassidy's hand, ready to head downstairs with her, but she stopped him. "How long are we staying here?" She asked the two boys. She was greatly appreciative of Spot allowing them to stay in Brooklyn for the time being, but she knew the other Brooklyn Boys wouldn't be as welcoming. She just wanted to get Jack back so they could find a place safe to stay together.

Racetrack glanced at Mush, shrugging his shoulders. Neither boy knew what to tell the girl. "We're not really sure, Kass," Mush finally answered, scratching the back of his neck, a nervous habit of his.

Kassidy just nodded. She knew the boys were trying to keep her safe, and she couldn't be mad at them for that. Without saying anything else, Kassidy followed the boys to the small eating area in the Brooklyn Lodging House.

As they got closer to the dinning area, they could hear the loud shouts and laughs of the Brooklyn Boys. Kassidy started to grow a little nervous. She was never one to be shy, but she wasn't sure how many of these boys she had woken up with her screams and cries last night. She was glad that Racetrack and Mush ignored it, and hoped the other boys would also.

"Morning, Sleeping Beauty," A loud, flirtatious voiced boomed as the group of three enter the area. Kassidy noticed a group of five boys sitting around and gave them a small smile.

She released her hand from Racetracks, taking a step towards the other boys. "I don't think we were properly introduced last night. I'm Kassidy," she said politely, pushing her nervousness down as she moved closer into the room and took an empty seat at the table, Racetrack and Mush falling into the empty seats on her sides.

One of the boys placed a plate of food in front of her, a small smirk on his face. "We knew, Princess," he said before moving back to his own seat.

Kassidy just nodded her head, letting the pet name slide because she just meet the boys. She stayed silent as she started eating the food placed in front of her. As she ate, she let her eyes drift around the room. She couldn't deny that the boys were incredible attractive, but she couldn't help but wonder where Spot was.

Not being able to take the silence anymore, she turned to Mush, "Where did Spot go?" She asked, trying to sound as uninterested as she could, but she secretly really wanted to know.

"Probably out finding a new toy," one of the boys snarked, smirking at the frowning brunette. "Oh, I'm sorry, did you think you were the first girl Spot let sleep in his bed?" Kassidy felt her face heat up in embarrassment, which only intensified as the other Brooklyn boys erupted in laughs.

Kassidy pushed down the hurt feeling in her chest. She knew she had no right to be upset. Hell, she didn't even know Spot for more than a day. Before Kassidy could answer, there was a loud bang.

"Get the hell outta here, Tanner," Spot snapped, banging his cane on the floor boards one more time, an angry scowl on his handsome features.

The boy named Tanner stood up, glaring at Spot before heading out the door with the other boys following closely behind him.

"You didn't have to do that. I could have handled that myself," Kassidy defended herself, turning in her chair to look at Spot, "but, thank you," she finished, shooting him a grateful smile.

Spot just sent her a confident smirk. He took a little pride in knowing that at least a small part of her was jealous of what Tanner said, but he didn't say anything of on that matter.

"I just sent one of my scouts to check on your brother. He should be back by the end of the day," Spot said, walking around the table to grab a piece of bread.

"How long ago did they leave?" Mush asked, standing from the chair as he shared a look with Racetrack.

"Couple minutes ago."

"If we go now, we can catch up to him," Racetrack said to Mush.

"Wait, what? You're leaving?" Kassidy rushed out, her eyes widening in shock.

"We gotta get back, Kass. Davy can't handle all them boys on his own. Plus, we promised Sarah an update on Jack," Race said sympathetically.

"I'm coming with you," Kassidy declared, jumping out of her seat.

"The hell you are!"

"You have to stay here."

"I'm sorry, Kassy."

The three remaining boys in the room said together.

Kassidy frowned at her friends. It wasn't that she didn't want to stay here with Spot, it was the fact that she just got her friends back and they were leaving her already.

"But-"

"No. No. You're staying here, Kassidy," Spot said, not caring that he just cut the girl off. "We didn't do all of this work for you to just get thrown back into the refuge with your idiot brother."

"Fine, but you better come back and you better not forget about helping Jack. I'll go back there myself and get him out if I have too," Kassidy said stubbornly, glaring at her two friends.

"We'll be back, Kass. We promise," Mush said, moving over to hug the girl. Once he pulled away, Race took his spot in the girls arms.

"Be safe," she said, a small frown on her face. She stood with Spot by her side as the two boys left, making their way back to Manhattan. She sighed, knowing that she was safe in Brooklyn, but she was going to be alone again for a little while.

"No need to sound so upset about staying here," Spot said, glancing down at the small brunette girl standing next to him. "It'll, uh.. it'll be alright," he said awkwardly, never being very good at comforting people.
