Authors note: Well here we are the final chapter (honestly thought I had more left but I guess not) I want to thank you all for coming this far with me on my first fan-fiction. Thank you for the compliments and criticism they have been so helpful. I hope you enjoy this chapter and also as fore-warning there is going to be a thick Scottish accent coming your way with a small smattering of German words. Toodle Pip!

"What have you been up to since I saw you last week?" Annabelle said hugging her daughter around the shoulders.

"Uhhh, nothing much I drove out LeAnn's with Dad for my nieces birthday yesterday."

"That's nice, what have you been up to Stan?" Annabelle said smiling politely.

Stan looked uncomfortably at his ex-girlfriend. They had been on good terms since their split but he felt very uncomfortable around her since she got married. Her husband had a very strong dislike for him.

"I'm good." He said looking around for her husband.

Annabelle laughed.

"The old man isn't here I came into town to get lunch with the book club." She said.

"Ok, phew." Stan said.

"So have you talked to your dad about what you needed to talk to him about?" Annabelle said quirking her eyebrow at Kat as Stan looked at them confused.

"Not yet." Kat muttered around her cup of coffee.

"Good grief Kitty, you are the worst procrastinator!" Annabelle said rolling her eyes.

"I am not a procrastinator!" Kat said making an offended face.

"Science fair, need I say more?" Annabelle said staring at her daughter.

"That was different, I am waiting for an oppertune moment." Kat said.

"Honey you have been here nearly a week, there have been plenty of opportunities to tell him."

"What am I not being told!?" Stan said looking between the two women.

"Nothing dad, don't worry about it." Kat said making a hand motion to brush it off.

He turned and looked at Annabelle.

"Sorry Stan it's not my news to tell, my book clubs here, I have to cut and run ,good seeing you both." Annabelle said standing up give Kat a hug briefly.

"Bye mom." Kat said waving.

Stan turned and stared at his daughter expectantly.

"It's nothing to worry about." Kat said.

Stan stared at her some more, then took a suspicious sip of his coffee.

The next day revolved around Stan hounding Kat about her news. Kat still refused to tell him, saying that it wasn't an oppurtune moment.

On Saturday morning as Kat made breakfast her phone started ringing.

"Hello?" Kat said picking up.

"Hullo leibling!" a Scottish accent said sweetly through the phone.

"Hi Paul, how are you doing?" Kat said smiling, picturing her boyfriends face.

"A'm guid, ye?" Paul said

"Alright, I miss you though." Kat said sincerely as she buttered some toast.

"

Weel, it's guid 'at aam comin' tae see ye today isnae it, leibling." Paul laughed

Kat's jaw dropped and her eyes widened.

"Hullo, Kat ur ye thuar?" Paul called confused, after Kat was silent for a few moments.

"Mhmmmm." Kat said nervously, mouthing curse words to herself for being so stupid to forget that they had planned for him to come spend the rest of the weekend with her and her dad.

"Ye forgot Ah was comin' didne ye? "

"What, pfft, no, I umm...ok yes, yes I did." Kat said guffawing and then giving up

"Lieber Gott, Hen, sometimes ye ur absolutely bapit." Paul sighed "Did ye at leest teel yer dad Ah was comin'? "

"No...and I didn't tell him our news either." she said sheepishly.

"Oh Gott," he said laughing in exasperation "Ah loove ye desperately, but ye ur bapit indeed."

"I know and I'm sorry!" Kat said also in exasperation.

"it's alrecht pit, if Ah hang up oan ye can Ah coont oan ye tae teel heem?" Paul asked.

"Of course, I may be ditzy but I'm not ditzy enough that I need more than one reminder." Kat said sassily.

Paul let out a chuckle.

"alrecht, mah bus leaves in a half hoor sae Ah will see ye in tois ur sae."

"Okay, I love you. " Kat said.

"Loove ye tay." Paul said hanging up.

"Who was that?" Stan said.

Kat jumped and let out a yelp.

"Jeez Dad!" Kat said "I was talking to Paul."

Stan made a confused face.

"Paul, my boyfriend?" Kat said.

Stan still stared at her.

"About so tall, blond hair, green eyes?" She said gesturing.

After Stan still sat looking at her confused she let out a sigh.

"The Scottish one?" she said exasperated.

"Oh yeah him, I remember him, what's he up to?" Stan said.

Kat laughed nervously.

"About that," she said nervously "He's coming to spend the rest of the weekend with us."

"Oh," Stan said then he made a somewhat angry face "Is that what you haven't been telling me?"

"No, but it's related to that." Kat said kind of nervous and excited " You see, Paul is coming to visit because he wants to get to know you better, because you are going to be his father in-law."

Stan stared at her confused.

"What?" he said not sure he understood her correctly.

"Paul asked me to marry him!" Kat said happily pulling a ring out of her pants pocket and then laughed "And before you ask, no, he didn't get me pregnant."

"When did this happen and why aren't you wearing this." he said shaking the ring at her.

"About a month ago, I wanted to tell you and mom in person, and I have spent most of the week running around in the woods I didn't want to risk loosing it."

"Well, I am very happy for you." Stan said.

"Thank you," Kat said "I also came to see you this week because I wanted to ask you if you would walk me down the aisle."

"Of course," Stan said " so it will be me and your step-dad right?" Stan said handing her ring back.

"Nope, just you." she said putting the ring on smiling.

"Uh are your mom and him okay with that?" Stan said, being on good terms with Annabelle did not guarantee she couldn't get pissed at him.

"Yep, I like Jack and all but we never really bonded, he's not my dad, you are and this is something dad's do for their daughters."

"Well the answers still the same." Stan said smiling patting her hand.

"Great!" Kat said smiling broadly.

"Now I have two questions for you." Stan said seriously.

"Go for it!" Kat laughed, still grinning.

"One, can I wear my fez? And two, do I have to wear a kilt?"
