A/N: It´s finally done... I can´t believe the story is finally end... God, I´ll miss it. Enjoy...
It was finally the time. No more waiting, no more wondering, no more anticipation. The long awaited day was finally there, and nothing could stop it from happening.
"Shinichi, keep still." Someone ordered as they gave some finishing touches to the makeup, stepping aside to allow everyone else to appreciate her work of art. "I knew violet and pink would be great to use. You look so pretty!"
Blushing slightly, Shinichi tried to ignore her grinning friend as she looked at herself in the mirror, feeling her breathing quicken. God, it was finally happening… Her appearance only made it even more real, and she was unsure if she should cry from joy or laugh hysterically at her own nerves.
"It´s time, girls." Yukiko stated as she approached her lovely daughter, smiling gently. "My dear, you look so lovely. Now, take a deep breathe, dad is already waiting for you. Don´t worry, everything will go perfectly."
Smiling back, the detective took one last calming breathe before hurrying towards the door, her friends following after her unable to stop themselves from grinning. Yusaku Kudo was already waiting, trying to keep his face as relaxed as possible while failing at his imposed task of not thinking about what was about to happen. When he had seen his little girl for the first time, he had promised to himself he would not cry when the X day came, but now, it seemed almost impossible.
"I am ready dad." His little girl stated gently as he finally turned around to face her, his eyes widening in surprise. She was so beautiful… his little girl was already so grown up…
"Are you certain about this?" Yusaku joked as he took her hand, preparing himself mentally. "There is still enough time to run away, my car is just around the corner."
Receiving nothing more than an amused smile from his girl, he squeezed her hand slightly, knowing there was nothing he could do.
Kaito was wearing a black smoking, his shirt pure white while the tie appeared to be a deep blue. In his breast pocket was a deep red handkerchief, arranged stylishly to appear a small red rose, a four-leaf clover imprinted in one of the corners. From time to time, he tried to run his hair through his hair, only to lower his hand quickly when he remembered the amount of gel he had used for it to lie flat, fighting against his own embarrassment as his eyes roamed to the clock. The time was going too slowly.
Finally, the door opened and music started to play, not that Kaito actually paid attention to it, and people started to walk it. First was Ran, in her long purple dress, smiling gently at the nervous magician, hand in hand with Genta. After her followed Aoko with Saguru, how that detective managed to become his friend Kaito still couldn´t understand; and Ai, Mitsuhiko and Ayumi, the girls throwing flowers at the carpet. The children, now thirteen, were grinning from ear to ear, happy to participate in such a happy occasion. However, no matter how much he liked those kids and his friends, Kaito wanted to see someone else.
When she finally appeared, being escorted by her father who seemed to be fighting against the tears, Kaito lost his breath. She was so beautiful, so perfect… he couldn´t believe she was about to become his. In her long, strapless laced gown, Shinichi walked confidently, her eyes never leaving his as the distance between them grew shorter. Her hair was caught in a braid, adorned by blue roses, partially covered by the veil…
"We have gathered here…" Startled by the voice of the official, Kaito reluctantly turned his attention back to the present, trying hard not to cry as he stated as clearly as he could his vows. His hearth couldn´t slow down, no matter what he did, as his lovely Shinichi said her vows, a smile never leaving her red lips. It was happening; it was real… "You may kiss your bride."
A part of Kaito was surprised, he couldn´t remember saying his vows, but it didn't mater. All that mattered was Shinichi, his Shinichi, whose delicate hand now was adorned by their wedding ring, who was smiling gently at him as he felt tears run down his face, whose eyes were glittering like gems.
"Why are you crying, silly?" She mumbled as he hugged her, ignoring the sinkers from their family and friends. "I promised, didn´t I, that I wouldn´t leave again. I love you, Kaito."
Looking into her eyes, into the eyes he loved and adored with all his heart, he couldn´t help but smile at her. "Yes, yes you did… I love you too, Shinichi…"
"Oh, just kiss already!" Aoko interrupted with a roll of her eyes as everyone started to laugh again, not that they weren´t appreciating the show.
Shaking his head at his childhood friend, Kaito cupped Shinichi´s face as if she was as fragile as rose petals, relishing in the feeling that she was his forever. Slowly, he lowered his face, finally kissing his wife. The kiss was gentle but passionate, neither wanting to let go. Finally, finally they were married.
