A/N: For the All About Love Challenge. This is my Cross-Gen contribution and my fairly new favourite pairing. Thanks for reading.
To Luna, it was fate. She was meant to drop her books on her way out of Defence Against the Dark Arts in her second year of school. Her professor was meant to help her pick them up. Luna was meant to look into his eyes. It was merely fate to fall in love with Professor Remus Lupin. Even if he didn't see it that way.
Luna was a patient person, she new that at young age of twelve she could not even begin to contemplate acting on her feelings.
The next time she saw him was when she was fifteen and joined Ginny at Grimmuald place for the holidays. She knew he was staying there as well, and as far as she was concerned she was completely and utterly over him. She was dating Dennis Henderson for goodness sake.
Yet when she entered the kitchen one morning with Ginny, he smiled in acknowledgement and Luna could barely remember Dennis' name. Cursing herself she decided the best option was to remind herself that it would never work.
Except in doing this, no other relationship she put herself in actually worked. So instead she made a note to wear revealing clothes around him. She made subtle hints of flirtation towards him when no one else was around. In the hope that he would fall for her as well.
By the time she was seventeen she had had enough of being head of a heals over a man who had no idea. So one drunken night returning from the bar with Ginny she stumbled into the kitchen and right into Remus. He caught her before she hit the floor and pulled her upright.
"Goodnight?' he asked a large smile pressed along his lips.
"It just got better," she flirted.
"And why is that Miss Lovegood?" Remus asked slightly taken aback.
"It is always nice to end the night in the arms of an attractive man," she said surprising herself. Remus let go of her quickly and starred at her, too speechless to respond. So instead Luna moved forward and before Remus had a chance to respond she pressed her lip to his. She expected him to push her away. But instead Remus gripped his hands to her waist and pulled her against him. The kiss became hard and forceful and it wasn't until Luna couldn't breath that she broke it apart. She starred at Remus breathing heavily unable to understand what just happened.
"I shouldn't-" Remus started but cut short when Luna shook her head.
"You can't do that to me now," she said pushing closer to him.
"Can't do what?" he breathed resisting the urge to grab her again.
"You can not kiss me like that, something I have waited for you to do since I was twelve, then stop," she breathed moving closer and letting his lips sit near his. "You can not turn back," she whispered.
"I am bad news Luna," Remus whispered back pulling his lips from hers. Luna slipped her fingers into the loops of his jeans and pulled him back to her.
"Sometimes bad news is worth listening too," she said before her lips were back on his and Remus could no longer resist her.
