Caught Thinking about You

For the life of her, Levy McGarden just could not concentrate. She had been on the first chapter of her book for the past half an hour. If you looked at her you couldn't tell. It seemed as if she was reading. However, every time she tried to read her mind was flooded with thoughts about one person. Gajeel Redfox.

Lately, all her thoughts seemed to be connected to Gajeel. She thought about how he had become more friendly once he got Pantherlily (even if it was only a little more). She thought about how he always messed up her hair and called her Shrimp, Shorty, or something along those lines. She always acted annoyed or irritated when he called her those names and, at first, she actually was. But, in all truth and honesty, now she liked when he did that. She was the only one he called Shorty. It was almost as if …. as if…..she was his Shorty. Wait – What!? Where did that come from? She blushed slightly at the thought. Well it wasn't such a bad thing, was it?

Gajeel was handsome, in his own sort of way. The metal studs on his skin and his long black hair seemed to suit him. He was also very tall and very strong. She always felt safe when he was with her, though she wasn't going to admit that anytime soon. Plus, she was sure he had a heart under all his iron scales. He was a Fairy Tail mage, after all.

While consumed in thought Levy did not realize that a certain iron dragonslayer had been watching her and was now standing beside her.

"Hey Shorty"

Levy nearly jumped out of her seat.

"Gajeel, I d-didn't realize you were here" Levy stuttered.

"What are you so jumpy for?" Gajeel asked

"I am not jumpy!" Levy cried indignantly.

"Oh really? You were thinking about me or something eh?" A smirk was growing on his face.

"No I wasn't" she lied. "Anyway, itwasnicetalkingtoyou. Bye"

With that Levy practically ran from her seat, out of the guild. She was rushing so much she forgot her book. Gajeel noticed this and showed his trademark grin.

"Gihe"
