The continued adventures of Alice in the Country of Hearts

Persistence

At the amusement park Alice was sat sipping tea with Boris and the Duke. Her mind however was astray, she wondered what Blood was hiding from her, not that she expected him to tell her, that was just the kind of person he was but still, perhaps it was the paradox that surrounds him that she liked, the cold appearance he has when he's with others but then when she and him were alone the softer more caring side came out, even if he was still a little domineering. Yep that was probably what Alice fell for, the paradox, that and maybe because he looked like her first love.

"Alice?" Mary Gowland asked, he was concerned about the girl. Alice snapped to,

"Huh?" She replied "oh sorry, I guess I zoned out"

Mary chuckled. "Thinking about the Hatter are we." A small smirk prying on his lips.

"What, no..." Alice replied. I need to stop thinking about him, I said yes to becoming his girlfriend and thinking about him a lot is natural but come on Alice surely you've over thinking the situation. You're just getting yourself worked up over nothing. "Honestly I'm fine"

The Duke chuckled "come now, it's defiantly not nothing, whether you like it or not well care about you and we just don't want to see you get hurt."

"Well..." Alice said hesitantly, "it's just something Vivaldi mentioned" that was mostly it, what Blood and Vivaldi were discussing and Peter White, those were the main things on her mind.

"It's not just what Vivaldi mentioned, is it. There's someone else on your mind." Mary said quietly, his voice showing some concern, "I could hazard a guess at who it is." Alice motioned for him to continue, "A certain white rabbit named Peter, I believe." Alice nodded mutely.

It was then that a certain individual appeared, the persistent rabbit. "Alice!" He called pretty much running over to her and hugging her. "Have you changed your mind yet, come on you know you won't be happy with that Hatter, he couldn't give you happiness. I could I really, really could." Peter went on a little rant trying to get Alice to choose him over Blood.

Alice let out a long drawn sigh, "I'm sorry" she said quietly, "but I don't, I don't love you." She looked Peter straight in the eye. "I like you yes. As a friend. But not as a lover, I'm happy with Blood, remember you said you'd be happy if I was happy and I'm happy with blood, so you should accept that"

The white rabbit scowled, "but you're not happy, I've been sat watching you and you are not happy, that hatters upset you and I won't forgive him for that, he will pay. Mark my word" he said the slightest hint of a growl in his voice. "I will kill Blood Dupree and make you mine Alice."

Alice groaned and glared at Peter, she went to speak "..." But Peter just ran off. "I should go, see what the idiots going to cause" Alice mumbled standing up.

"Why don't you just leave him" Boris replied "I'm sure Blood can deal with him, he after all is the most dangerous out of all of us."

Alice shrugged "I guess" she was worried but no matter what she thought blood could take care of himself, and she knew that.

Boris looked at her "come on let's go on some of the rides again. It'll keep you occupied." He said softly pulling Alice up out of her seat and dragging her to the roller coaster. "Y'know you should convince Julius to come visit again since he loves roller coaster." That certainly made Alice chuckle.

"You know as well as I that he doesn't like roller coaster, although it would be an amusing sight." She giggled out.

Boris smiled. "See you're happier already."

Alice chuckled. "Yeah, I guess I am."

Boris smiled more, he messed with Alice's hair a little. Mary Gowland noticed this, ""if you're not careful Boris Blood will be after you." Boris rolled his eyes before pulling Alice onto the roller coaster.

Alice sat and enjoyed her time at the theme park, the roller coaster, the Ferris wheel and the stalls, she really had a good time, and well Boris and Mary had helped cheer her up. That was a good thing. But what Alice didn't know was that things were going to take a turn for the worse, not that anyone knows that, but Alice should have at least expected it to happen.

Meanwhile at the Hatters Mansion, Blood and Peter had their weapons drawn, Blood let out a long drawn sigh, "how long you going to keep it up Peter" he asked a slight migraine forming.

"Keep what up," Peter replied, "taking what is rightfully mine."

Blood sighed again. "This is Alice's decision. We can't change that, if she chose me then she chose me, you know what would happen if you were to break her heart."

"I know" Peter replied "but the only one who will break her heart is you, because you're cruel, cold and heartless, and you think of no one other than yourself." Naturally this was untrue. Blood indeed did love Alice.

A ghost of a smirk formed on Blood's lips. "Alright then the first one to make Alice upset loses."

Peter chuckled, "you have a deal" he replied before running off to find something to make Alice happy. But what he didn't know. Or rather knew but being so in live with her, over looked it, was that what he was about to do would push his and Alice's friendship to the limit.
