Chapter 6: Colours are shown

(You're going to find something similar in this chapter and my Percy Jackson and Hunger Games crossover involving Prim. I feel like Prim has to be a bit of a bad ass. But not too much because she still has to be her sweet, animal loving self. Just wait until she realizes what's trying to kill her. *Snicker, snicker*)

Katniss' POV

We were sent back to our rooms to prepare for training, and trust me, tensions were as high as the Hunger Games' training. Somehow Rue managed to keep a straight face about it, and Prim acted like nothing bad would happen. This I can't wrap my mind around, little Prim the healer is going to train for war and she's not freaked out. What's up with that?

Well, soon creatures that appeared to be half donkey and half human gave us new clothes. They were red with a golden lion on the front. We all put them on, but I kept my jacket on. I don't know why, but I felt safer, maybe because it reminded me of my father's jacket. Okay, it made me remember my father, I know I act stone-hearten and unfeeling but I do miss my father with all my heart.

...

We all gathered on a wide field away from the castle. My braid was whipping around like Glimmer in her...final act, so it was really windy. Peter had made this whole place legit with training us, his flags are scattered across the courses, weapon choices on a wooden table, wooden people figures, it was impressive. We all stood in a line starting with Percy, Annabeth, and everybody else. Then me, Rue, and Prim who was twittling her thumbs with eyes locked on the grass. Now what's up with her? She kept a grin when we first came out here, now she's so shaky and nervous. Was I like this when I was 12?

"Here," began Peter, "is where we'll be training you lot. I trust you all have experience in fighting or anything physical, now choose your weapons."

On the table were swords, daggers, knives, and a bow. I lost my bow when I was sent here, it was lying beside me when Rue and I were sleeping, same with my arrows. I stepped forward and picked up the bow, it was a wooden handmade one like my father's, with a leather grip. The quiver was made of leather as well, with a padded shoulder strap. The arrows were also wooden with a big heavy metal head that was way heavier than the arrows I'm used to. I finger the arrows as I walk back in line.

Annabeth's POV

After Katniss had picked out her bow, no one else had stepped forward.

Peter was surprised at us, "No one else want a weapon?"

Beside me, Percy reached into his pocket and I could tell he was gripping his pen Riptide, "Thanks, but I already have mine," he pulled out the bronze pen and showed it to everyone. Of course the Pevensies and Katniss, and Rue start snickering. Until he uncapped it, and the long bronze glowing blade materialized before them.

Thalia pulled out her collapsible bow from her quiver, and shook it to unfold. Percy and Nico have only seen the handmade one that she usually had, but since the last time I've seen her she said her bow snapped, "Complements of Artemis," she said to the hanging mouthed boys, and Susan and Lucy.

Nico, after recovering from his open mouth hysteria (there was also a river of drool coming out), unsheathed his Stygian Iron sword, and let it glint in the sunlight.

Everyone had a big dramatic unsheathing, but I just pull out my dagger that I've had ever since I was seven and shrugged. Yeah, I don't have a big magical weapon with a special ability of any kind. But it has sentimental value, this knife introduced me to my new family when I was a runaway. It does get the job done too.

Rue's POV

I checked my inside coat pocket to see if I still have my slingshot, with luck I did. I pulled it out and everyone but Katniss and Prim laughed. It was the Training Center all over again, but I made some changes to it rather than a stick and a rubber band. Now it had a bungee cord and reinforced steel, it's incredible what Seeder can get sponsors to send you. I picked a rock from my pocket and loaded my new slingshot, aimed for a thick tree limb, and released. That baby flew like a mockingjay in pursuit, and completely cut through it and embedded it into the trunk of the tree behind it.

I hadn't tested it out, so I was as surprised as everyone else was. Even Prim and Katniss were gawking at me. Heck, I was gawking at me. Everything was silent, you could hear a pin drop in the field we were in. No one said a word until a throat was cleared, and our attentions were turned to Peter.

"Well, okay then. Primrose," we turned to Prim who became smaller in Katniss' shadow than before, "you didn't choose your weapon."

Prim started to back away from us, "N-No, no I-I don't kill," she stuttered.

"Please, I insist. At least pick something that you can defend yourself with."

Prim walked up to the table and picked up a tiny hatchet and it's case. It fit her hand perfectly, with a stainless steel blade and a melted in grip with a leather coating on the handle. Whoever made this, knew what they were doing. She flipped it in her hand, fatal if you didn't know what you were doing, but she caught it like a pro, and her muscles relaxed followed by a small smile.

Primrose's POV

I didn't know what it was about that thing, but the hatchet made me feel more comfortable than I had ever been since I arrived. It felt like a friend, it felt like Rory, my best friend at home, was standing beside me. But when I turn to see if he's there, only do I see the grass.

"Now," said Peter, "before you, there is a series of obstacles. Your job is to get past them, and leave no figure untouched."

We all lined up in the same order we were standing in. Peter blew a horn and Percy sprinted with his pen sword gripped in his right hand, he was flipping over boxes, slicing the figures into wood chips, and climbed the rock wall like an expert. Apparently he's done this training thing before.

When Percy finished Peter clapped, "1 minute and 15 seconds," he said in an admiring tone, "not bad, not bad at all."

The, Lucy told me what they're called, fauns reset the course and Thalia sprints in. She's shooting arrows at everything, and as she's doing this I'm immediately seeing Katniss, and how she never misses. the only thing that didn't remind me of her was when Thalia's bow ends turned into blades and she decapitated one. But as she did this she ran into a figure. I could see anger swirl in her eyes and, with a glare that could scare a stinger off a tracker jacker, a bolt of lightning hit the figure and it crumbled into dust.

"What the...," said Rue.

"Did that just happen?" said Katniss in astonishment. I was speechless.

When Thalia finished the course, Peter didn't comment.

"You are soooo in the army," commented Edmund. Earning him an elbow in the side by Susan.

When Nico went he didn't touch a single figure but called upon an army of skeleton soldiers to do all the violent stuff for him while he flipped over the obstacles. Apparently, these kids had a super power.

The only person who didn't use a power was Annabeth, who really didn't need one. She kicked wooden butt just fine with her knife piercing the heads of the boards, also speed was on her side so...

Rue's turn. She too a fist full of sharp rocks and, while running, cut clean holes through the wooden enemies. She was quick and agile as she jumped off of the boxes and shot her rocks in mid-air. It was amazing to watch her, but I guess when you live in District 11 you need to learn these things.

After Katniss it was my turn. I was clueless, what was I going to do? I've never had to use fighting skills before, I mean the closest is when a bear would wander into the meadow and Rory and I have to run. He taught me how to be agile, and...That's it!

I take my new hatchet into my left hand (I like my favorite characters to be left-handed, because left-handed people are awesome!) and go sprinting into the course. I somersault over the obstacles while imbedding my hatchet in the figure's head, then leap from wooden shoulder to wooden shoulder making sure not to leave a figure unmarked with my blade. Honestly, besides the killing of inanimate objects, this was the best time I've had all day. Feeling the wind whip my braids, and blow my face. Watching the world turn upside down and sideways,I felt like I was flying. I've always wanted to fly...

When I dismounted everyone came towards me cheering, and shouting.

"Where did you learn how to do that?" Katniss asked astonished.

"Rory," I replied with a smirk on my face.

Katniss raised her eyebrow, "That boy and I are going to have a talk," she said more jokingly.

As they all were congratulating me a faun was scrambling up to the Pevensies, "They *huff huff* They're. You...gotta...see *gasp* St-stone *gasp* T-Table!"

The Stone Table must have been pretty important because Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy were running for their lives with all us following until We came to a giant slab of rock with a big crack in it. Painted on it in red berry juice or possibly blood, they have the same density I should know, I'm a healer, 'THE WHITE WITCH WILL RISE AGAIN.'

Lucy gasped, Susan muttered, "No," Edmund had a ridged glare at the table, and Peter fell to his knees.

"It's official," muttered Edmund. Everyone looked to him, "we're going to war."
