Master Plan
"I got to meet with the medical examiner and try to figure out what happened with Jackson." The Sheriff informed Scott, Kristie, and Isaac. "I've got an APB out on Stiles. His jeep is still in the parking lot, so that means." He paused. "The hell, I don't know what that means. Um - look, if he answers his phone, if he answers his emails, if either one of you see him—"
"We'll call you." Kristie said.
"Look, he's probably just freaked out from all the attention or something. We'll find him." Scott said.
"Yeah. I'll see you, okay?"
The Sheriff walked away and out of the locker room, as Coach walked over to the three. "McCall. We need you on the team, okay? You know I can't put you on the field next season if you don't get your grades up."
"Yeah, I know, coach."
'All right. I mean, I - I know I yell a lot, but it's not like I hate you guys. Well, I kind of hate Greenberg, but, you know, that's different. It's Greenberg. I'm just saying we - I need you on the team. Get your grades back up."
"I will."
"I know." Coach walked away and Scott looked around the room.
"Is that everyone?" He asked.
Kristie sighed. "I think so." That's when Scott ripped off Stiles' locker door.
"You're gonna find him by scent?" Isaac asked.
"Yeah, we both are." Scott said, handing Isaac a shoe.
"But how come you get his shirt and I get a shoe?" Scott was about to answer when he looked up. Derek was standing by the door.
"Derek." Kristie said, walking over to him.
"We need to talk." Derek said.
That's when Kristie stopped dead in her tracks. "All of us." Peter said, appearing behind Derek.
"Holy sh –"
"What the hell is this?" Kristie asked, interrupting Scott.
"You know, I thought the same thing when I saw Scott talking to Gerard at the sheriff's station." Kristie looked back at her brother.
"What is he talking about?"
"Okay, hold on." Scott said. "He - he threatened to kill my mom. And I had to get close to him. What was I supposed to do?"
"I'm gonna go with Scott on this one." Peter said. "Have you seen their mom? She's gorgeous."
"Shut up." Kristie, Derek, and Scott said at the same time.
"Who is he?" Isaac asked.
"That's Peter, Derek's Uncle." Kristie informed him. "Little while back, he tried to kill us all, and then we set him on fire, and Derek slashed his throat."
"Hi." Peter said.
"That's good to know." Isaac replied.
"How is he alive?" Scott asked.
"Look, the short version is he knows how to stop Jackson." Derek said. "And maybe how to save him."
"Well, that's very helpful except Jackson's dead." Kristie said.
"What?"
"Yeah, Jackson's dead. It just happened on the field." Scott informed him.
"Okay, why is no one taking this as good news?" Isaac asked.
"Because if Jackson is dead, it didn't just happen. Gerard wanted it to happen." Peter said.
"But why?" Derek asked.
"Well, that's exactly what we need to figure out. And something tells me the window of opportunity is closing. Quickly."
The group rushed to the Hale house. Peter was confident that they would find what they needed there. The problem was, no one but Peter knew what it was. Scott's phone rang as they went inside, Peter heading straight to the staircase. "What are you doing?" Derek asked. "I looked everywhere."
"They found Stiles." Scott said, hanging up the phone.
"Good." Kristie sighed, relieved.
"I told you, I looked everywhere." Derek said as Peter pulled a floor board from the stairs.
"You didn't look here." Peter replied, taking something out.
"What is that, a book?"
"No." Peter scoffed. "It's a laptop. What century are you living in? A few days after I got out of the coma, I transferred everything that we had. Fortunately, the Argents aren't the only ones that keep records." Peter got up and went into the living room. Scott's phone went off, and he took the call into the other room.
"So you think you know what Gerard wants to do with Jackson?" Kristie asked.
"I think I know exactly what he wants to do with him." Peter said, turning on the laptop. Scott walked into the room not long after. He had a worried look on his face.
"What's wrong?" Issac asked.
"Mom just called. She says we need to get to the hospital right away. Something's going on with Jackson."
"Like what?" Kristie asked.
"She wouldn't say. Just said we needed to come right away."
"Alright let's go." Isaac said, ready to leave.
"You go ahead." Peter said. "We'll stay here and do more research." Scott nodded and he, Isaac, and Kristie were headed out the door.
"Wait." Derek said, grabbing Kristie's hand. "Look I know I haven't been there to protect you these past couple of days, but I will tell you this now. Please be careful. If something happens, you run away, you call me."
"I promise." Kristie said. She stroked Derek's face and kissed him passionately on the lips, before leaving with her brother and Isaac.
When the three got to the morgue in the hospital, they were surprised at what they found. Jackson seemed to be in some kind of cocoon, made out of his own venom. "What's happening to him?" Scott asked Melissa.
"I thought that you were gonna tell me." Melissa exclaimed. She paused. "Is it bad?"
"It doesn't look good." Kristie replied.
Suddenly Jackson began to move. They all stepped back, surprised. "Whoa. Um, mom, could you zip it up, please?" Scott asked.
"Okay. Okay, okay. Okay, here we go." And she began to zip up the body bag. As she did, Jackson started to move more. The zipper stuck right at his face and his mouth opened as he hissed, revealing his teeth.
"Mom, zip!" Kristie exclaimed.
"Okay, okay, okay, okay."
"Zip! Zip, mom, zip! Zip!"
Kristie sighed as her mother closed the bag. "I have to call Derek." She said. She pulled out her phone and dialed his number.
"Hello?" Derek answered.
"We've got a big problem."
"What kind of problem?"
"Jackson's in some kind of transparent casing made out of his venom."
"What?!"
"Yeah, and that's not all. He's started to move." Kristie heard Derek tell Peter this from the other end of the phone. Kristie heard mumbles over the phone, then Derek's voice came back on.
"Kristie you have to bring him to us."
"I'm not sure if we have time for that." Kristie said, her voice shrinking as the body bag began to move. Kristie heard a screech on the other end. "What was that?"
"That's what he's gonna turn into. You need to get him out of there now! Go now."
Kristie hung up the phone. "We gotta move him. They found out what he's turning into, and it doesn't sound all that great."
Isaac and Scott both picked up the body bag, Kristie leading the way, being careful they wouldn't be seen. They ran out into the parking lot, making their way for their mom's car, when Scott dropped his side of the bag. Isaac and Kristie looked at him with an "Are you serious?!" look. He gaped and reached down to pick it up, when a car pulled up. It turned off, and Chris Argent got out.
"You're alone." Scott said.
"More than you know." Chris replied.
"What do you want?"
"We don't have much in common, Scott. But at the moment, we have a common enemy."
"That's why we're trying to get him out of here."
"I didn't mean Jackson." Chris paused. "He using Alison against me. Gerard has twisted his way into Allison's head, the same way he did with Kate. And I'm losing her. And I know you're losing her too."
"You're right. So can you trust me to fix this? Then can you let us go?"
"No." Chris paused. Scott's eyes went wide, moving in front of Kristie, ready to protect her. Chris smirked. "My car is faster."
"I think he stopped moving." Isaac informed them, as they arrived at the old iron works.
Chris looked down the road. "Where's Derek?" Kristie looked and someone came running towards them on all fours. Derek flipped, his eyes glowing red. Kristie rolled her eyes.
"Someone certainly enjoys making an entrance." Kristie said.
"I'm here for Jackson. Not you." Chris informed him.
"Somehow, I don't find that very comforting." Derek replied. He looked at Scott and Isaac. "Get him inside."
Everyone went inside the building and laid the body bag on the floor.
"Where are they?" Scott asked.
"Who?" Derek replied.
"Peter and Lydia." Derek looked down and slowly made his way over to the body bag. "Whoa, hold on a second. You said you knew how to save him."
"We're past that."
"What about –"
"Think about it, Scott. Gerard controls him now. He's turned Jackson into his own personal guard dog. And he set all of this in motion so that Jackson could get even bigger and more powerful."
"No. No, he wouldn't do that. If Jackson's a dog, he's turning rabid, and my father wouldn't let a rabid dog live."
"Of course not." Everyone turned, seeing Gerard walking up to them. "Anything that dangerous, that out of control - Is better off dead."
Derek looked from Gerard down to Jackson. He reached his hand back, his claws extended, and went for Jackson neck, when Jackson suddenly stabbed Derek and sent him flying.
"Derek!" Kristie yelled after him.
"Well done to the last, Scott. Like the concerned friend you are, you brought Jackson to Derek to save him. You just didn't realize that you were also bringing Derek to me."
Suddenly an arrow zoomed past, landing in Isaac. Kristie rushed over to him as he fell to the ground.
"Allison?" Scott asked, seeing her figure. Scott ran over to Kristie and Isaac. He stood Isaac up and the three took off. There were multiple gun shots and Isaac pulled the arrow out of him and they took Kristie off to the side. "Stay here." Scott told her. She nodded and watched as her brother and friend revealed their wolf forms along with her boyfriend, who was alive.
Kristie watched as the three boys fought. She couldn't handle it. She closed and when she opened them, Derek was on the ground and Allison was standing over a bloody Isaac, two blades in her hands.
"No, Allison!" Scott and Kristie yelled. Suddenly, the Kanima grabbed Allison by her throat, knocking the blades out of her hands.
"Not yet, sweetheart." Gerard ordered.
"What are you doing?" Allison asked.
"He's doing what he came here to do." Scott replied.
"Then you know." Gerard said.
"What's he talking about?" Kristie asked, now at Isaac's side.
"It was the night outside the hospital, wasn't it, when I threatened your mother and sister. I knew I saw something in your eyes. You could just smell it, couldn't you?"
"He's dying." Isaac said.
"I am. I have been for a while now. Unfortunately, science doesn't have a cure for cancer yet. But the supernatural does."
"You monster." Chris growled.
"Not yet."
"What are you doing?" Allison exclaimed, as the Kanima's hold on her got stronger.
"You'll kill her too?" Chris asked, on the brink of tears.
"When it comes to survival, I'd kill my own son!" Gerard exclaimed. He paused. "Scott."
Scott looked down at Derek then down at the ground, his face going back to normal. He made his way over to a pararlyzed Derek, forcing him to stand up. "Scott, don't." Derek groaned. You know that he's gonna kill me right after. He'll be an Alpha."
"That's true. But I think he already knows that, don't you, Scott? He knows that the ultimate prize is Allison. Do this small task for me, and they can be together. You are the only piece that doesn't fit, Derek. And in case you haven't learned yet, there is just no competing with young love."
"Scott, don't! Don't!" Kristie exclaimed, tears in her eyes.
"I'm sorry. But I have to." He snapped Derek's neck back as Gerard rolled up her shirt sleeve. Derek was forced to bite him. When he did, Scott dropped him on the ground. Gerard holding his arm up in victory.
He laughed, but then blood black began to ooze out the bite wound. Everyone looked at him in confusion.
"What? What is this? What did you do?"
"Everyone said Gerard always had a plan." Scott said. "I had a plan too."
Gerard reached into his pocket, pulling out his pill container. He emptied the contents into his hand and crushed it. "Mountain ash!" he exclaimed. Black blood began to come out of his nose and eyes. He fell to his knees, a fountain of blood escaping his mouth. When it was done, he fell to the floor.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Derek asked Scott.
"Because you might be an Alpha, but you're not mine."
There was a groan as Gerard pulled himself up. "Kill them!" He yelled at the Kanima. "Kill them all!"
The Kanima let go of Allison for just enough time for her to elbow him in the face, getting away as Stiles' jeep burst through the wall, hitting him.
"Did I get him?" Stiles asked.
Suddenly the Kanima jumped on the hood of the car, causing Stiles and Lydia to scream and proceed to exit the vehicle.
"Jackson! Jackson." Lydia exclaimed, coming face to face with the Kanima. He looked like he was about to strike her, when she held up a key. His facial expression changed and he put his hand down as he slowly turned back to Jackson, taking the key.
Jackson stepped back and he seemed to nod, when Peter and Derek stabbed him. As they let him go, Lydia ran to him.
"Do you - do you still –" He could barely get out.
"I do. I do still love you. I do, I do still love you. I do. I do. I do still love you, I do." Lydia kept saying. Lydia laid him down, Jackson now dead as the last bit of scales disappeared from his face.
"Where's Gerard?" Allison asked.
"He can't be far." Chris replied.
Lydia got up walked away, when there was the sound of claws scratching the ground. Everyone looked as Jackson opened his eyes, them now a piercing blue like Derek's. He let out a loud roar, his face transformed, before he turned back to normal, Lydia hugging him.
Kristie and Derek lay on her bed, their finger entwined as the laid in silence. "I'm sorry for having to do what I did." Derek said, taking her hand and kissing it.
"It's alright. Jackson's alive and not the Kanima anymore. You did what you had to do to protect us….protect me." Kristie sighed.
"What's wrong?"
Kristie sat up in the bed. "What happened…it's made me realize that you won't be able to protect me all the time, and I will never be able to protect you." Kristie paused, Derek sitting up too. "I'm going to ask you something very important and you need to consider it."
"What is it?"
"I want you to turn me."
