"...How...the...hell...did...this...happen?"

A red-haired girl grasping her twin revolvers rather shakily with her mouth agape, stared at what had previously been a lush green plain full of plant life, had now turned into a wasteland with hundreds of gashes all over the place, puddles of blood everywhere. Lying at a side was a white-haired boy garbed in what seems to be a rather stylish looking armour.

"Err... that might have been our fault..."

Looking to her left, the girl stared at her companion- a young beret-wearing, green-haired man who was now slouching a little foward in what seemed to be a "I give up" pose.

"Kindly explain what did you do to cause that idiot to destroy this WHOLE PLAIN!? Huh, SPARDA!"

At this, the man started pedalling backwards with the woman gaining on him, until he tripped and fell on his ass and realised he had no way out.

Shuddering with cold sweat dripping down his neck, he replied.

"O-o-okay! Okay! I m-mi-might have hy-hypnotised him in-into thinking he was som-someone else s-so that he would s-stop being such a co-ward. How was I supposed to know that he would have ended up behaving like Asura?!"

Flashback~

"Ne Ruca, come here for a moment would ya?"

Walking towards his friend, Ruca could not help but feel that something was amiss.

"H-hai! Eh? What is that you are holding?"

Staring at what seems to be a ring at the end of a chain dangling, Sparda started to show a devilish smirk.

"Okay here's the thing, keep your eyes on the ring, no matter what happens okay?"

Nodding at his companion's words, said companion started swinging the ring like a pendulum.

"Alright keep your eyes on this ring. You are getting sleepy. You are getting sleeeepppy~."

True to his word, Ruca indeed start to feel drowsy.

"Now can you hear me?"

Noticing the listless nod by the boy, Sparda continued.

"Now, when I snap my fingers, you are no longer a coward but a brave and powerful warrior. One, two three. *click*"

Noticing his companion's head still hanging, Sparda started to feel worried.

"Did it not work? But the book said that it would-"

Sparda's mutterings were interupted by a rather ominous chuckling coming from Ruca, which was followed by a mad laughter.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I AM ASURA! FEEL MY MIGHT YOU HEATHENS!

Sparda could only look on with his mouth agape as his companion charged into a horde of monsters that had appeared out the the blue and slaughtered the monsters, all the while laughing like a madman.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA! FEEL THE POWER OF A DEMON KING! MUSOU MAJINKEN!"

Hundreds of shockwaves erupted from the boy's blade, turing the battle into a one-sided slaughter.

Flashback end

"After that he just fell unconcious."

Iria could only pinch the bridge of her nose, before a noise alerted her.

"Itai... eh? What happened?"

"Sparda... do not, and I mean NOT, ever try to do that again unless we are in dire straits, understand?!"

"YES MA'AM!"

Sighing, Iria could only say to herself this one thing:

"At least he is on our side?"
