I decided to make a bonus chapter because I honestly could not figure out where I could put this crucial part in Children of the Future. So, I hope you guys enjoy and pay attention to the Author's Note at the end because I have the general date for when the sequel will be posted. Here we go!

December 21: Hypnos - 9:05 AM

The families, driven straight to Hypnos, seated in the waiting room, were in tears when the messages arrived. Cody, TK, Kari, and Henry had all sent them an email stating that they were just fine though they had been separated into four groups, each finding themselves in a different quadrant of the Digital World governed by a different Sovereign. However, upon doing a head count, they seemed to have lost Kouichi, Yolei, and Mako somewhere though there was no sign that they had fallen into cyberspace.

It didn't stop some parents, like the Himis or the Kanbaras, to ask for Yamaki to bring their children back. The Teradas were in hysterics when they heard about their son and it was obvious that Miss Kimura was close to passing out. The Inoues weren't that much better but the kids were trying their hardest to believe that their youngest was fine.

It took all the power of the other adults to keep them calm, after all, they had all gone through this once, even twice before. The Criers practically guilt tripped them with their woeful tale of how Keenan was gone for the first ten years of his life. It wasn't long before they just quietly sat there, praying for the safety of their children, even the ones that had nothing to do with this.

"You know, this is the third time TK has gone into the Digital World with me knowing of all the dangers," Nancy Takaishi laughed humorlessly. "And yet, it still doesn't get any easier. I worry so much about his safety even though a part of me knows that he'll come back okay, just like he always does."

Matt sat down beside his mother. "Truth be told, TK is probably one of the strongest of the original eight DigiDestined. He was the one who saved us in our fight against Piedmon." A flicker of a smile flashed across his face as he held his mother's hand in his own. "He would never give up hope, which is why we can't do that to him or any of the other kids."

"I still don't understand why Tommy had to go," sniffed Sasako Himi. "He could be home with us!"

Joe looked up from the computer he was at. "This was something that Tommy wanted more than any of the older kids did. As a Legendary Warrior, his connection to the Digital World is stronger than ours, but there's more to it than that. I think, it's in his nature to want to protect his second home that has taught him to be strong and stand up for himself. You saw the change in him, didn't you? Three years ago, he came back home independent, wiser, and braver than before. He went through a bigger change than I did."

"You speak as if you were there for Tommy's change," Mimi giggled. "But it's true. We all went through changes, some of us, more than others. Izzy isn't so anti-social, I'm not so selfish, Joe isn't so scared, Tai is more serious, and Matt is more understanding."

"And what about me?" inquired Sora.

Mimi laughed. "You've barely changed, you're as incredible as when we had first met you, just braver and stronger."

Thomas bit the inside of his thumb at the thought of Relena being there when she wasn't supposed to be. "I was prepared to see them all off but nothing could've prepared me for watching my own sister jump in there. I know she'll be fine but I can't help worrying."

Yoshino placed a firm hand on his shoulder. "We're all worried, it'd be unnatural if you weren't concerned for your sister's safety."

The group of adults, young and old, sat around calming people down and making sure that everyone was okay.

"Ai and Mako… They will be okay, right?" their mother whimpered.

Seiko slowly stood up from her seat, walking over to the window to watch the morning life roll by outside on the city streets. For some reason, even though she hadn't said anything, something about her action commanded the room's attention. "Five years ago, I let Rika walk away from home and go to the Digital World. I'd be lying if I said I was completely confident in her return. But I let her go because I saw a fire burning in her, she wanted to save Calumon. And when she came back, she told me all about how much she had wanted to bring back Impmon as well when she saw him there."

"And those two weren't even Rika's partners," Rumiko smiled softly, knowing where her mother was going with this tale. "Our Rika felt so strongly for her friends and just imagine how your own two kids must feel, seeing their own partner, a friend they practically know by heart, wrenched out of their grasps. For them, this is the equivalent as if someone had stolen your child away. Right now… You two are thinking of following your children despite not having partners of your own, am I right?"

The Teradas were surprised by this deduction and Rumiko was right too. So, if this was how their children were feeling then…

"They love Impmon that much?"

Tai placed a hand on his partner's head. "All the DigiDestined love their partners that much."

"We'd go to the ends of the Earth and back for them," Marcus added, wrapping his arms around his own partner.

"And we'd do the same for them," nodded both Agumon.

Yamaki suddenly entered the room with a device in hand and when he set it down in the center of the room, a voice came out from it, belonging to Henry.

"Tai, are you there?" Henry asked. "Everyone, actually, there's something important we have to tell all of you." Yamaki answered for the group before the Tamer continued. "Okay, we are currently with Bokomon and he found a book in his library, telling the origin of the Demon Lords. And… I think you guys should all hear this. Yamaki, this call connects to everyone else in the Digital World as well, right?"

Genesis of Pride and Wrath

During the Genesis Age of the Digital World, the oldest among them, the Sovereigns found that Digimon were wild and animalistic, they only knew how to fight and survive. In order to bring peace, they brought over two humans, brothers, to the Digital World. They were two young boys who held a strong hatred for their home world that was filled with war, bloodshed, prejudice, and discrimination but also possessed strong hearts. Their names were Hikaru and Kurogane.

The brothers became the very first Tamers in the multiverse when their eggs hatched. Hikaru became the King of Light, partner to Angemon and Kurogane became the Emperor of Darkness, partner to Devimon.

While both brothers shared a hatred for Earth, they differed in every other way. So they became rulers of their own kingdoms, splitting the world in half but it was at peace as these two humans taught the wild Digimon courage, friendship, love, sincerity, and kindness.

For decades, the Digital World prospered but then an army arose, one that wanted to dispel humans. This army believed that humans treated Digimon as pets so their leader, Bagramon, planned on overthrowing the brothers. And they started by conquering lands in the Kingdom of Light.

Hikaru was a prideful man and his methods of maintaining his kingdom were precise. When he learned of the destruction being caused by the Bagra Army, he and Angemon led their own militia and banished Bagramon's land into cyberspace.

But Hikaru was not satisfied; he found many Digimon were still dissenters so he set out on a quest to extinguish them all. He found it dishonorable that some villages would surrender without a fight and he would eliminate them all, absorbing their data. It wasn't long until Hikaru trespassed into his brother's lands.

Kurogane ruled his kingdom with an iron fist but he was always kind towards the denizens. However, he had a quick temper and when he learned of his brother's attack on his people, he launched his counterattack. An official declaration of war was received and returned as they laid waste to the once beautiful world.

Ironic how the thing they hated most was exactly what they started.

The turning point in the Great War was the assassination of Devimon. Kurogane was devastated by the loss of his partner so he exacted revenge on his brother by taking Angemon's life.

In the end, the two brothers were left with knives at each other's throats when the Sovereigns finally interfered. The four Holy Beasts could not believe how far these two humans could take things when reacting on their emotions so they sent them to be judged by Plutomon, who at the time, was designated to determine punishments for sinners.

But Plutomon was fascinated with humans. He wanted to see just how far the pair of humans brought to him would go. So he brought back two souls from the Underworld, Devimon and Angemon, and laid their bodies out in front of their respective partners.

Hikaru and Kurogane were in tears as they laid their partners' heads in their laps but it only reminded them of how much they hated each other.

"I can bring them back," Plutomon told them.

Both brothers temporarily sheathed their spite when they heard this offer. "How?"

"All it takes is a simple exchange of souls."

Hikaru did not want to give up his life, even if it was for his partner but Kurogane did not even take a second to think about his decision. When Devimon awoke, he found his lifeless partner at his feet. The demon broke down in tears for the loss of his partner.

Hikaru did not feel pain when his brother left this world. No, he found himself laughing. He had lost all hold of his sanity and he screamed that he was the victor in the war. In rage, Devimon was consumed by the fires from the Underworld from where he came from and soon, Kurogane and he became one entity, Daemon. And as the newly born Demon Lord of Wrath, he killed Hikaru.

Plutomon was dissatisfied with this ending but he threw Angemon and Hikaru into the depths of his realm anyway. He was unaware that the human was still alive; his pride would not let him die. And when the partners fell into the hellfire, they reemerged as one and were reborn as Lucemon.

The war continued between Lucemon and Daemon, and with their new powers, the Digital World reached a breaking point. So the Sovereigns sealed them away and threw away the keys in hopes that their devastating power would never be unleashed again.

Origin of Envy

For centuries, the Ogremon and Leomon tribes were at each other's throats. The Ogremon were dastardly beings indeed, they robbed the poor and they hurt the innocent. The Leomon were truly noble creatures as they fought for justice and the wellbeing for those who did not have the power to fight for themselves.

But not all of them were as such. Unfortunately, many Digimon did not understand this.

The Ogremon were rejected for their ugliness, inside and out, even the ones that only wanted to live a peaceful life. They were mistreated, tossed aside into the gutter, and isolated because of the history of their ancestors, even when they had nothing to do with them.

The Leomon were held to the highest esteem, even the ones who abused their power and superior strength. Their history as being the noble protectors of the weak and defenseless never rang weak, thus, Digimon flocked to them like they were heroes, even the ones who robbed and hurt.

One Hyogamon envied the treatment that the Leomon received.

He would try to help a fallen Burgermon but she would only scream once she laid eyes on him. And then an IceLeomon would appear and claim to protect her from the thief.

But Hyogamon knew the truth. He saw IceLeomon steal fresh bread from Burgermon's store.

Hyogamon hated that IceLeomon so much that every time they crossed paths, the ogre would challenge the warrior to a duel, only to lose every single time. After all, what chance does a Champion have against an Ultimate?

Whenever the duel was in front of people, the crowd would always cheer for IceLeomon. When IceLeomon beat Hyogamon within an inch to his life, the crowd would point and laugh at the fallen creature. Even the Ogremon, Fugamon, and other Hyogamon started rolling their eyes every time Hyogamon came back with injuries.

Hyogamon despised that IceLeomon.

"You are truly a pathetic creature!" IceLeomon leered as he stomped his foot down on Hyogamon's skull.

The crowd laughed.

Hyogamon's muffled voice arose from the dirt. "It's not fair."

"You are just a lowly Hyogamon, you don't even deserve my mercy," IceLeomon laughed.

The crowd cheered.

"It's not fair."

IceLeomon stepped away and kicked Hyogamon in the stomach before making his way back to his village, with a crowd of his fans trailing behind him. "When will you learn that you pack of lowlifes should just disappear!"

Hyogamon, despite the pain and suffering he was in, pushed himself up. "It's not fair. You get all the praise, all the gifts, all the cheers but you oppress, you steal, and you belittle. What makes you a hero?"

The group of laughing Digimon ignored him. After all, why would they listen to a lowlife member of the Ogremon species? Hyogamon's data started to disappear because his body was too weak to be maintained now, and before long, he was gone and back again.

"It's not fair!" he bellowed, shaking the very earth they stood upon.

The crowd screamed and they started running. IceLeomon turned around but the last thing he saw were razor sharp teeth coming down on him, ripping him to shreds. His data exploded and never reformed. On that day, a rampaging beast that was consumed by the flames of the Underworld, destroyed Leomon Village and slaughtered thousands, causing the Sovereigns to seal him away and naming him the Demon Lord of Envy.

The beast, Leviamon, still screams into the air, "It's not fair!" every time a Leomon is deemed a hero.

Beginning of Greed

There was once a legendary pirate known as Hookmon who would travel the blue seas of the Digital World in search of treasure. But they were never for him; he would always give away the gold he found to those who needed it more. He only had three loves in life, his ship, his crew, and helping the poor.

But his crew did not reciprocate these feelings.

The members on his ship wanted to keep the gold they found to themselves as they were very selfish. They knew that Hookmon was the only pirate capable of finding some of the greatest treasures in the world so one night; they got him drunk on rum and hypnotized him into having only three loves in life, his ship, his crew, and gold. And when Hookmon woke, he found a map lying beside him, leading to the greatest treasure of all, Minervamon's Island.

They set sail almost immediately.

It took several days before they found the hidden island but when they did, they docked ship and found the cove filled with treasure, enough for one to swim in. Hookmon's crewmembers immediately tried to dive in but a mistake came in their hypnotism. Hookmon only had one love in life, gold.

Hookmon aimed his cannon and massacred his entire crew before joyously diving into the gold.

It wasn't long until Minervamon found him.

"Thief!" she screeched. "I shall have your head!"

Hookmon wanted nothing more than the treasure so he desperately tried to hide inside Minervamon's stash as she went wild on her own island. Minervamon had no control over her power so she sunk the island and when she discovered this fact, she fled, taking Hookmon's ship and leaving the sinking island with Hookmon still in it.

Hookmon wanted nothing more than the treasure so when he saw that Minervamon was gone, he rejoiced even as he sank to the bottom of the ocean.

"Gold! Gold! Gold! All mine! It's all mine!"

Supposedly, the island fell into an abyss, plummeting straight into the Underworld where Hookmon spent the rest of his days playing in the gold that he would never be able to spend. When he reached the end of his lifespan, his body sank into the gold and what came out was an old man.

Barbamon saw the gold around him and laughed. He now had the power to escape this land with his treasure but he wanted vengeance on Minervamon. So as soon as he left the Underworld, he went in search for the Olympian, destroying everything in his way. He could never find her but he found something else, a desire for more power, more money, and more lands to call his own. So he continued his reign of destruction until he was sealed away.

The Demon Lord of Greed's temple is made from the very gold that had melted in the hellfire. And he continues to laugh to this day. "Gold! Gold! Gold! All mine! It's all mine!"

Barbamon has only two loves in life, gold and power.

Dawn of Lust

There was once a beautiful Angewomon who had a heart made of gold. She was adored by many just as she adored many. There were many a Digimon who wanted her heart, they would serenade her, give her flowers, and do anything to try and make her theirs.

But Angewomon's heart did not beat for any one individual. And she only had one goal in life, to make the world as beautiful as possible. So she would travel to the continents, adorning houses with flowers, delivering light to the depressed, food to the hungry, and a song to the broken. Her purity shone through everywhere she went but what she did not know was the number of Digimon that were drawn to that purity.

A Myotismon wanted to win her affections but when she rejected him, he took to a much more forceful method.

The angel one day disappeared from the world, the flowers wilted on the houses, the light faded away, the food was eaten, and the song had been sung. But most importantly, Angewomon was gone from their lives.

Myotismon had taken her away and locked her in a room, on the highest floor of a stone tower. Night after night, he would approach her, but not to win her affections but to take her over and over again. Angewomon hated it but she hated her body more for betraying her, for disobeying her heart and mind.

Myotismon held the opposite sentiment, he loved Angewomon's body and he wanted to share it. So he brought as many Digimon who were rejected by the angel to his castle and for one night, she was violated for hours on end.

Angewomon hated it but she hated her body more for betraying her.

The angel cried until morning rose and when Myotismon went to check on her, he found that she had died. She had clipped her wings and jumped out from the window of the tower she was locked in. Myotismon ran out to see her and he cried for he had fallen for her even if it was a twisted form of love.

"You were the most beautiful…," Myotismon whispered as he stroked her hair.

But Angewomon did not love him, not even when she was reborn.

She gave him a bloody smile as her hands wrapped around his throat. "And you are the most ugly." As Lillithmon, she wanted nothing more than to take Myotismon over and over again before ripping his head off his body. She found no greater satisfaction for her vengeance than that.

She vowed to exact vengeance on all of the Digimon that had taken her on the previous night and went on a hunt. It was another massacre of thousands as she was on a hunt for blood and once again, she was sealed away and dubbed the Demon Lord of Lust.

Birth of Sloth

There was once a sleepy kingdom where the ruler wanted nothing more than to sleep and eat. She adored having servants and being served but she did not seem to comprehend that she had responsibilities and duties to attend to as the reigning queen.

"Lady Beastmon," her loyal Knightmon beseeched her. "You have visitors waiting for you. How long do you plan to sleep?"

"You can take care of it, Knightmon," Beastmon yawned.

"Like I have done for your last few jobs?"

"Of course! I'm so happy you understand."

Knightmon found this to be a nuisance at times but truth be told, he found nothing wrong with this. He had known Beastmon since she was young so taking care of her was no different from his job in the past. But this feeling was not shared amongst others, including those in neighboring kingdoms.

Dissenters found Beastmon to be unfit to rule and they agreed that Knightmon would make a much more competent monarch. They told Knightmon of their plan who immediately turned away and told Beastmon. However, she agreed with the dissenters and she stepped down from her throne, choosing Knightmon as her successor. The kingdom cheered but as Beastmon tried to return to daily life, she was pushed out.

Beastmon did not understand why she could not be served anymore.

The former queen began demanding for the attention of her servants but no one listened to her. Even Knightmon was unable to help anymore now that he was busier than ever with his new job as king. Beastmon felt betrayed, alone, so she attacked Knightmon out of rage. In a public cry of outrage, she was sent to be executed by decapitation. And at the stocks, she found herself at Knightmon's mercy.

"How could you?" Beastmon croaked.

"You brought this upon yourself," Knightmon told her.

A whole week passed without another incident until a behemoth of a Digimon, one that was unfamiliar to all, arrived in the kingdom. The creature looked like peacefully sleeping teddy bear and most of the citizens did not see this monster as anything more than a giant balloon. Until one day, the creature finally spoke and the first words were demands of the Digimon to serve it, to feed it, fan it, give it anything and everything it wanted.

The people of the kingdom were reminded of their former ruler and so, they laughed and refused the creature. And so, the creature became engulfed in rage and changed form into something much more frightening and it razed the entire village.

Knightmon was the last to be killed and at the moment of his death, he called out to the beast.

"Beastmon," he said. "I know it is you in there, please stop this madness!"

The beast paused for a brief moment before shaking its head. "Beastmon is no more, you, a traitor, killed her. I am Belphemon!"

Knightmon had always been her royal servant. He had served her since she was young. To him, she had practically been his daughter. He wondered if she knew how much he cried on the knight he behead her. "I only wanted what was best for the kingdom. And you could've been a part of it if you hadn't been so lazy."

"You served Beastmon since the day she was born," the creature replied. "Every single day you did everything for her because her parents were gone. You fed her, you tucked her in, you read her stories, and she knew nothing. Beastmon… died because she didn't know how to do anything herself!"

"I… I am… sorry…"

"Beastmon is too."

Knightmon was obliterated into dust not a second later.

Belphemon continued this trek around the world, meeting everyone in the innocent, sleeping form of the beauty before turning into the beast if she was turned away. Countless died in her wake before she was sealed away in a temple by the Sovereigns.

Legend has it that if the temple is not taken care of properly, the beast will be unleashed so every week, a Digimon from a neighboring village will clean the temple from top to bottom lest they face the woeful wrath of the Demon Lord of Sloth.

Emergence of Gluttony

The League of Angels protected the Digital World instead of the Sovereigns who could not leave the celestial plane from where they govern. The leader, Seraphimon, made certain that the land remained beautiful and prosperous.

There was a brother and sister Digimon pair, Impmon and Salamon who dreamed of someday being admitted into the League. Their dreams were to make the lands flourish with colors that one could see only after the rain. One day, Salamon was given a formal invitation to join them but Impmon had not.

Salamon never forgot her brother, even bringing him into the League and having him stay with her. Impmon was content with this but one day, he was out in the loading docks where deliveries were made around the world when a Pegasusmon caught sight of him.

"A dark Digimon! A virus!" the winged horse neighed.

Almost immediately, a Piddomon pushed Impmon back into his sister's room where the demon child was punished.

Throughout the rest of Impmon's stay, he was covered in bruises and he would challenge Piddomon over and over again for admittance into the League. But every single time, he was beaten and beaten and beaten. He was ridiculed by the others, called weak and pathetic and Impmon grew with a boiling hatred in his heart for the group that had made him and outcast for who he was, but also burned him with the mark of a weakling.

"Why must strength be so important to you all anyway?" Impmon shouted one day in the Great Hall.

Piddomon, once again, took the creature away to be punished for his outburst. But Impmon was determined to prove that he wasn't to be branded as weak so he murdered the angel using the sharpened sword of a Darcmon. He stabbed Piddomon right through the throat and Piddomon slowly deteriorated. It was too slow for Impmon and he was hungry for blood, so he decided to quicken the process of deletion by cutting up the angel into parts and consuming each one.

Salamon came back to her room to find a Devimon where her brother should be, holding the head of Piddomon. She shrieked so the fallen angel took her and force fed her the remaining guts of the angel which she found to be delicious and dark digivolved in BlackGatomon.

The brother and sister forgot everything from their past lives and decided to eat more for they were hungry. Hungry for the hearts and heads of angels. They murdered several members of the League of Angels in secret and then chopped them up before gobbling them down. Both of them became stronger with each bite and swallow but it was not long before they were found out by the head himself, Seraphimon.

The head angel deleted the newly born LadyDevimon and Reapmon but their hunger had yet to be satisfied and their anger towards the mistreatment Impmon had received had yet to dissipate. So they broke through the Underworld and returned as Beelzemon and BeelStarmon, the twins that wanted nothing more than to tear Seraphimon limb from limb and have his remains for dinner.

They were still hungry, even after consuming every living being in the League of Angels, they wanted more power, more data to consume so they continued eating Digimon, unable to fully satisfy their eternal hunger.

They were to be sealed away but they both escaped. Their power was taken away however so they roamed the Digital World and remained in hiding, forever avoiding the temple that was to be the prison for the Demon Lords of Gluttony.

-X-

Unbelievable, who would've thought that the Demon Lords had such a history? Pride and Wrath were born from a feud. Envy and Gluttony were both horribly mistreated by people that everyone else revered and held to such high honor. Greed and Lust were both kindhearted creatures who were given fates that were undeserved. And Sloth was raised in a way that everyone hated so she was pushed out from everything she knew because of everything she knew. What will the DigiDestined do now that they have this information? Find out in Digimon: Children of the Future!

Okay! So the general date of when that will be published will be somewhere from September 14 (My birthday!) and September 21, hopefully earlier than later. If something happens like I'm dealing with college stuff or something, I will be sure to notify you all. Until then, leave a review telling me which origin story was your favorite and why. And I will see you guys later!

Update: Children of the Future has been posted so if you guys have been unaware, just head to my profile and you should find it. Don't forget to review to that story!
