Jane sighed. Back to the beginning. The sparring field surrounded by the three boys demanding an answer. "I've made a decision." Jane said at last. The boys stared intently at her, waiting for her to elaborate. "First I want to say some things." She said looking to Dragon for support. He was standing behind the boys and nodded. "I made a pros and cons list for each of you." She said. "And I wanted to tell you." Jane then turned to Gunther. "You're honest and a good knight prospect however I think you could work on your manners." She said smiling and winking at him before turning to Smithy. "You're sweet and helpful and a good listener. You always give good advice and you work hard. I only fear that you would have no time for me. You're always working. Doing things." She said reaching out and touching his hand gently before turning to Jester. He looked scared. "Jester, you're funny and helpful. You know just what I need when I'm sad and I love going on crazy adventures with you; however, you have a hard time being serious and your practical jokes get you into trouble." She said watching him carefully. "That's why I'm choosing you. You need me the most, to keep you out of trouble." She said with a warm smile. He grinned and nodded earnestly. Smithy hung his head despondently and Gunther nodded, he'd expected as much. "I do want to say one more thing though." She said looking earnestly into each of the boy's eyes. "I just made the decision just now, it was a close race, I love all three of you and hope we can still be friends." She said. Smithy nodded before slinking off to his forge. Gunther also nodded and walked off to do something.

"Thanks Jane." Jester said smiling and slipping his hand into Jane's.

"Let's go." Jane said smiling and dragging him over to Dragon and soon enough the three were in the air.

"Take care of her floppy hat. Or I'll roast you." Dragon said. Jester smiled.

"I'd prefer to be made into a sandwich but I suppose you can put roast Jester in a sandwich..." Jester mulled it over and Jane laughed. "In any case, I'll take care of her. But she'll probably take care of me more."

"Ah short lives with your romance." Dragon said laughing before going into a dive. Jester clutched Jane and Jane smiled and laughed, holding tightly to dragon's big yellow horns. It was done at last. She'd made her decision. She grinned.
