2. Meowditation

Leo sat in lotus position, eyes closed, surrounded by candles in the middle of the dojo. He was easing himself into his relaxed meditative state, where he can rid himself of bad emotions, think on the day's events, and find solutions to life's problems.

. . . But reaching that meditative state at this moment was proving rather difficult.

He was being watched. Quite closely, in fact. A pair of glowing eyes staring right at him. He knew, without opening his eyes, exactly whose eyes they were, too. He could hear Don working away in his lab, as he had been most of the day. Raph went topside with Casey an hour ago to catch a movie. Mikey was in his bedroom having a 'Tri-Galactic Championship Fight to the Death' with his action figures. And Master Splinter was meditating in his own room. That left only one person in the lair.

He cracked open one eye to peer down at the staring eyes.

"Merow?"

"You know, if you are trying to meditate, you are doing it wrong," Leo chided the small orange cat jokingly.

The cat cocked his head to the side in an almost questioning gesture.

"You're supposed to close your eyes and empty your mind. . ."

Klunk blinked, twitched his ear, shook his head, then proceeded to start cleaning his paw with his tongue.

"Never mind," Leo sighed, closing his eye and again settling into his meditation.

His meditation was interrupted again when a fuzzy little head rubbed against his knee. He opened both eyes and looked at the tabby.

"Mrew?"

A ghost of a smile pulled at the corner of his mouth as he and Klunk watched each other for a moment; Klunk's eyes pleading, Leo's eyes amused.

Another moment of watchful silence passed between them before Leo relented and lifted his arm in a welcoming gesture. "Alright, come on."

Not needing to be told twice, and purring all the while, the small cat happily climbed onto Leo's lap, claiming residence between his crisscrossed legs. Leo affectionately scratched behind his ears while Klunk curled into a softly purring little ball. He suddenly felt warmer and less lonely, not having been aware he felt cold or lonely to begin with, but certainly not protesting the change.

With a smile playing across his lips, Leo closed his eyes and settled back into his meditation.
