I muffled a laugh as I listened to Mudflap and Skids taunt the Decepticons in hiding over the com link. They were in a region of Shanghai, China, hunting Decepticons. Mudflap and Skids were the main distraction in the East sector while Aunt Arcee, Aunt Mia, and Aunt Elita were in the West, near the abandoned hospital. Ironhide, Optimus, and most of the Nest soldiers were in the South, near the entrance. Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, and I were in the North, by the docks, waiting for a signal.
Uncle Optimus had allowed me to go on this mission, much to my parents' protests. The only reason Uncle Optimus let me go was because he had seen my training. He was the only one that had seen me train with my taijutsu and Shinobi tools, working hard. No one else knew that I even trained at all. Fortunately, Uncle Optimus never told anyone about what he had seen. When questioned, he only vaguely answered, ''She can take care of herself.''
''We got a second signal! There's another Decepticon! ,'' the com link crackled as the human relayed that over the various com links that connected every Autobot.
''Be ready, Free, and be careful,'' Sunstreaker instructed quietly and I nodded, giving him a smile before my black visor, matching the one Jazz had, clamped down over my eyes, hiding my expression as my face smoothed out into an emotionless expression. My swords came out, matching the twins.
''He's coming,'' I murmured quietly to my brothers on either side of me. They tensed, ready and silent. Suddenly, he came tearing down the road and I instantly recognized him as Sideways.
Sunstreaker lunged for him as he went past, Sideswipe following. He dodged both of them before roaring his engine and pushing his speed, revving down the road. My wheels slid out and I raced after him on the side of him, undetected. He never even noticed me as he sped down the road, escaping. I waited patiently and finally, my chance appeared. My strides ate up the ground as I skated forwards, bunching my muscles before leaping into the air. In mid-air, I full body cartwheeled, landing in front of Sideways, my sword cutting down deep into his hood, firmly staying. He didn't have any time to stop. He still raced forward in his car form as I gripped my sword by the handle and held on as he raced past me, my sword ripped through him cleanly, slicing him sideways in half.
My wheels shifted as I swerved to a smooth stop, a sly smirk stretching across my face. ''Dang, I'm good.''
''Nicely done, Free! ,'' Sideswipe swerved to a stop beside me, grinning proudly. ''Sunny, our little sister's awesome!''
''Yeah, I know, Sides,'' Sunstreaked followed, swerving to a stop on the opposite side of me. ''Any more surprises, Free?''
''Of course,'' I answered, nodding sagely. ''Uncle Optimus trusted me with this mission after all. He knows I can take care of myself.''
''Well now we know too,'' Sides reached over and swatted my arm in playfulness as I grinned back, punching him lightly in the arm.

I was amused at my family's pride in my defeat of the Decepticon Sideways as we piled into the cargo hold, shifting into our automobile forms. My aunts, Uncle Optimus, Uncle Ironhide, and both sets of twins were proud of me for that. Everyone else was still back at base, unknowing. My visor was pulled up and I was in my human form, sitting cross legged on Sides' hood. He didn't mind. He was too busy gossiping with Sunstreaker.
''Hey kid,'' Epps said and I looked over at him and the other Nest soldier, giving them a welcoming smile. ''Nice job.''
''Thanks,'' I nodded, smiling. ''Well, I'm going to catch up on some recharge. See ya.''
Jumping down from Sides' hood, I moved over to stand between them, shifting into my automobile form and falling into recharge.
It was a short flight back to Diego Garcia. Sunstreaker woke me up with a gentle nudge with his door and I headed down the ramp into the sunlight after them after the plane landed. Once outside, I transformed into my bi-pedal form, stretching.
''Freedom! ,'' I laughed, glancing over at Sunstreaker and Sideswipe before turning. ''I'm going to see my parents, see you later.'' They said their own goodbyes as I strode down the halls, heading to the Med-bay.
After a small, happy reunion with my parents, I headed towards my next destination, Prowl's office. Lifting a hand, I knocked on the door, smiling as I heard the familiar, polite, 'Come in.' Leaning against the doorway, I watched Prowl work. He worked hard, relentlessly. He hadn't even looked up from the datapad he was reading as he wrote down something on another blank datapad, multi-tasking.
''Hey,'' I greeted. ''Up for a walk on the beach?''
He looked up, blinking in surprise and relief as he realized it was me. ''Of course, Free. Lead the way.'' He stood, following me. We walked side by side on the sand, peaceful. A warm weight wrapped around my servo and I glanced down at it to see Prowl's servo clasped around mine gently. It brought a smile to my face as we walked, gently swinging our clasped servos.
After a few minutes of walking, we sat down at the edge, a few inches away from the water. To my surprise, Prowl reached out, wrapping an arm around my shoulders and pulling me close. Relaxing, I leaned into him, wrapping my arm around his waist. My helm was tucked beneath his chin as he held me close, gentle.
My optics shuttered closed as I breathed in and out deeply. This is where I belong, where I fit in. Without it, without my parents, my Uncles, my Aunts, my brothers, my Prowl, I would go insane. I knew that for a fact. And I wouldn't ever let anything take them away from me.
