Oliver doesn't look like it most of the time, but he's a hopeless romantic. His mum raised him right, Marcus thinks, because no one, not even Penelope (before she was busy shagging that Weasley kid) treated him like this. Oliver is cultured, refined, good-natured, good looking, and he likes Quidditch just as much as Marcus.

Marcus isn't sappy. Just Oliver. Marcus has an appreciation though, and he won't stop Oliver from being that way. Oliver doesn't shower him with affection or gifts. He's just there, mostly, except for when he does have a gift for Marcus. At those times when Marcus holds in his hands whatever random trinket managed to remind Oliver of him so much that the poor guy bought it for him, he speaks to Oliver softly in a voice that threatens to squeak, "If you keep this up -- you're just lucky you like Quidditch so much, or I'd not have you around anymore."

Oliver just smiles, because he knows what Marcus really means.
