Hi, so I decided it would be best just to rewrite the story. Everything will pretty much be the same but this version will just be a bit…better. I'll probably change the title later.

"But I don't understand why we can go! We've been good!" my older brother complained to our parents. We had been extremely well-behaved so that we would be able to g, hearing that they wouldn't be able to go was disheartening.

"I know you and your sister have been good but I just don't think it's safe for you and your sister to go out with us this time. We'll try again next time, okay buddy?"

"But daddy you guys promised!" I said stomping my little foot for dramatic effect. Even though I'm sixteen but, it still seems to work.

Daddy got down so that we were eye to eye… I'm short so what.

"I know I promised Poppy, but something has come up and now it's not best time. But since we did promise how about we go for ice cream we get back?"

That's all it took to change our attitudes from sad to ecstatic.

But, the happy moment quickly faded.

Shots fired.

Everything said just as ng began to move in slow motion, glass from the window I was in front of shattered all around me. My mother's rage filled screams bounced off the walls of my father's office.

"Poppy, get down!" my brother yelled, move before pulling me next to him under my father's desk.

"Seb, what's going on?" I screamed. I'm not even sure why I asked, I knew what was going on. I knew what my family was all about, but hearing gun's shooting tends to paralyze all working parts of the mind.

"I don't know Poppy. But I'm sure everything will be okay." he said, as he held my head against his chest.

The shots stopped.

"Poppy stay down, I'm gonna go check everything out. Just make sure you stay down okay." I nodded in agreement, unable to form a proper sentence.

My brother and I always had a special relationship. We're closer than most siblings are, even though he's two years older than me we're still pretty much connected at the hip. He settled me as close to the back of the desk as he could manage before looking his head over the top.

He cussed under his breath before pulling his gun from his side.

"Pop it's alright, you can come out now." he said holding his hand out to me. I don't want to go out, I'm terrified by what I was going to find.

Apparently I was taking too long, He reached down wrapping his hands around my forearm and snatched me up with him.

"Oh Sebastian!" I cried turning my face into his chest he wrapped both arms around me holding me close to him.

"I know Clarissa. I know." People rarely called me by my first name, hearing it sent a chill down my spine.

"It's okay. I'll never leave you. It'll be you and I till the end." he said

"Never?" I questioned.

"Never." He promised, holding me tighter to his chest.

RING RING!

My eyes snapped open, unshed tears threating to spill from the corners. I've had the same dream every day for the past four years. Some things can never be forgotten.

RING RING!

"Oh for the love of everything up above!" I screamed, picking up my phone.

"What!" I screamed into the receiver.

"Cl-Poppy you realize a part of this arrangement is going to the job, right?" Doug said from the other end.

"Urgh." I groaned into the phone in protest.

"Groan all you want, we know you haven't been to work in days. Now have your perky little ass out in ten minutes or I'll be coming in there." He said. I groaned again before hanging up. I rolled out of bed and walked to the bathroom to get ready.

I would be a perfect copy of my mother if it weren't for the hair. The black works okay I guess, at least it makes my eyes stand out. Sighing deeply, I took one last look in the mirror before hopping in the shower and putting on my work cloths.

It's a short walk from my hotel to my job. Of all the places to work I get stuck with this one.

"Poppy, you are so lucky I like your ass and I'm still holding out hope that you'll let me tap that."

"You know I was just hoping you'd get fed up and fire me." I said only half serious. Working for Raphael isn't actually so bad; he's giving me more chances than I can actually count.

"Poppy I couldn't fire you even if I wanted to, now pull out that little notepad and get back to work."

"If it makes you happy, Ralph." I said before grabbing an apron and a notepad.

My job description was simple. Go to the tables, and serve the customers. Nothing more and nothing less. I would rather have a more stationary position, but I take what I can get.

"Hi, I'm Poppy and I'll be your server tonight. What can I start you with?"

"Poppy? That sounds like a stripper name." a nasal voice laughed out.

One of major problems is my temper, I've done incredibly well.

"Well I would rather sound like a stripper than, look like one." I said making direct eye contact. So I can't always control my temper all the time…sue me.

"Excuse me?" She said looking disgusted and insulted. Good. Her friends at the table seemed to find her reaction just as amusing as the insult.

"That was funny." A black-haired girl said.

"Indeed." Said Blondie at the end of the table, my eyes flicked to his and back to my notepad before we could make a full connection. That still didn't stop the flutter at the base of my tummy.

"So, what can I get you guys?"

"Hey Poppy, I could use your help back here, feel like taking a break from being felt up?' Jamie asked from behind the bar.

"Anything to help a friend." I smirked climbing over the bar. Of course I could have walked through the door but this way is just so much more fun.

"Hey." A voice that sounded like melted chocolate on a warm day. I looked up to see Blondie, from the table.

"Hello, did you need something?" I asked, whipping down the already clean bar top.

"Yes actually. I'll take three shots of Jack, a plate of cheese fries and you in my bed tonight." He said with a straight face.

Is this guy serious? My inner monologue snickered.

I pulled out three glasses and placed the food order on the kitchen counter before turning back to him.

He slid a Visa Black Card across the counter to me,

"I sincerely regret to tell you Mr...Wayland that I am not on the menu this evening. But here are your shots and your food order."

"Damn, but what am I going to eat if you're not on the menu?"

"I'm sure you'll think of some...thing." My voice trailed off when I actually got a good look at him.

Perfection.

His eyes resembled the color of honey sprinkled with chocolate flecks. The smirk I could hear in his voice wasn't plastered to his face like I thought it would be.

"It's been a pleasure serving you Mr. Wayland. This one's on the house." I whispered sliding his card back to.

He smiled slightly before taking his order, card and going back to his table.

"Poppy, you can take your break now." Raphael said from behind me.

"Perfect. I'm horny, hungry and tired." I said facing him.

"Did you know that my office has this nice little couch? I also have some candles…a pretty nice bottle of wine-"

"Give it up Ralph; I'm not sleeping with you." I said before attempting to move past him. He locked me in place with his arms securely around my waste and his face in my neck.

"You know I'm not giving up anytime soon. This will just go on my bucket list."

"Is having your balls ripped off on your bucket list?" I asked sweetly, running my hand down his chest,

"No, but if you're doing the job maybe I could consider penciling it in."

I smiled slightly and pushed firmly on his chest so I could get by. My breaks never include anything extremely fascinating I have a drink, I have a smoke, and I pick at food from the bar.

The food here is nothing like back home.

I thought as I leaned against the brick wall outside of Pandemonium, inhaling deeply and letting all the smoke out.

"You know smoking is bad for your health. It can eventually kill you." a voice to my left said.

"Well, so can drinking, but I haven't stopped doing that either." I said before turning to see Blondie facing me with one shoulder against the wall.

"Poppy, right?"

"That's what the name tag says genius." I responded quietly.

He holds his hand out to me, "I'm Jace Wayland.

Hi, so review if you don't mind. It's actually somewhat helpful.
