Hey, shadowmistx98 here!
I've been busy lately and I'm stopping by to get this updated. In a few weeks, I'll be going back to college again and this might take a while again to get updated. But the next chapter will be either the last or second to the last chapter of this story. This is the last arc.
Also, since it's been a while since I last wrote a chapter, I couldn't remember all of the things I meant to write, so if there are any inconsistencies from the last chapter then this is probably the reason why XD
Anyways on to the story!
Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail and most of the OCs here.
Master Lucas looked at his surroundings. Everything was in chaos. His guild was fighting an army he never imagined could come in his way in his lifetime.
He supported every mage he saw who was having a hard time. He fought with all of his might.
"Lucas."
He stopped. He froze in place.
"I'm waiting for you."
He heard the same voice from his childhood, slowly becoming clearer and cleared in his head.
Master Lucas trembled as he looked over the mountains.
He heard a laugh afterwards.
"Lorelei..."
He closed his fists.
"Jeric... Reiss... I trust you. I'll be following shortly," he thought to himself as he continued to aid his mages in battle.

Lucian helped Christa steady herself in getting up. They got out of the cell she was in.
Christa leaned on the wall and looked at the dark hallway.
"Pretty cocky enemy, huh? Didn't even leave guards outside a dragonslayer's cell," Christa laughed as she took the crystals hanging from her belt and ate it.
Lucian could only look at her after she made somewhat of a joke.
"After all, I've done..." Lucian looked down. "How can you still stay so light-hearted around me?"
Christa looked at him as she swallowed.
"I'd do the same for a friend," she pushed herself from the wall and stood straight.
"Besides... You already said sorry. You'll have to do a lot of explaining to with the others though – starting with Nerium and Jay," Christa glanced at him the moment she said their names.
Lucian remained his sight planted to the ground but after a few seconds of silence, he weakly chuckled.
"Yeah... You're right... Thank you, Christa," Lucian smiled as he looked at her.
Christa sent a lazy grin his way.
Immediately after that exchange, they heard multiple explosions.
"Avarice must be already be invading the city with her army. Your guild – our guild might already be in war against them. It's time we left," Lucian said he nodded his head, preparing to make a run.
"Couldn't have said it any better!" Christa followed him behind as he ran.
As they turned to a corner, they were met by a few dark mages.
"What!? You traitor! Avarice offered you help!" one of the mages exclaimed.
Lucian took a deep breath.
"Yeah, I was a traitor, but not for your guild," Lucian pulled out his guns causing the other mages to take a fighting stance.
"I was a traitor for the guild that I didn't realize treated me like a real family," he pointed his guns towards them.
"And I'm willing to fight with and for them now. My will is decided," Lucian glared at them.
Christa placed a hand on her hip.
"Huh, nice speech. Now let's get on to the good part!"
Christa grinned as she started to gather air.
"Crystal Dragon's Roar!"
Together with Christa's magic. Lucian amplified the magic he had to shoot his guns.

Meanwhile, Nerium and Jay woke up facing each other, chained up to a wall.
"Hey," Jay weakly greeted.
"Hey," Nerium smiled in response, as weak as Jay spoke. "You look terrible."
Jay laughed or rather tried to laugh. She knew she was bruised and beat up but it was the same for Neium's case.
"Right back at ya," she replied.
Nerium smiled, but was resisting the urge to cry in front of her.
"So... Lucian's a jerk, huh?" Jay gritted her teeth.
Nerium looked away. "Seems like it."
"I just don't understand why he would do it..." Nerium shook her head. "When I was down, I could hear him and that girl talking. I could hear the hesitance in his voice that time... But I don't know if what I'm hearing was true or if... I'm believing it to be true."
Jay leaned on the wall and bumped her head on it.
"Who cares? We don't have magic," she looked at the chains containing a seal. "And our only hope is that our guildmates come fetch us from this rotten place. After that, I'll gladly place a hit on that scum's body."
Nerium sighed.
"Don't worry though, I'll let you place a hit too," Jay said, attempting to at least lighten the mood and cheer her friend up.
Jay looked outside the bars from their cell. Something then caught her eye.
"Wait a minute... Um... Nerium?" Jay motioned her hand to have her attention.
"What is it?" Nerium asked and saw Jay pointing to the outside of her cell.
Nerium looked at whatever she was pointing at and saw another cell in front of theirs.
She saw a woman with wavy and dirty-blonde hair.
"Ms. Lorelei?" Nerium knew she wasn't wrong. It was the mayor of Heaven's Crest.
Her formal clothes looked dirty and were tattered. She looked bloody and all bruised up, just like them.
"You girls... Father's mages, I presume?" Lorelei weakly asked.
They nodded.
"Figured... They're planning something about us. Something involving dark magic... Something about exchanging our lives to bring back a dead person," Lorelei said.
Nerium looked at Jay. "I somewhat hear Lucian talking about dead siblings when we were being dragged here..."
Jay rolled her eyes. "So he's planning on sacrificing us? Asshole..."
Nerium knitted her eyebrows and turned to Lorelei. "But Ms. Lorelei, why you?"
Lorelei closed her eyes.
"It seems the one who plans to sacrifice me have something to do with my father's past and now she's using me to get back to him," she answered.
"I just hope he's okay right now... I just hope father and Jeric is okay..." Lorelei turned away from them, sniffing.
Jay and Nerium, looked at each other.
"They're going to be fine, Ms. Lorelei. They've got the whole guild," Nerium remained optimistic.
"But they're facing a whole dark guild... I don't think-!"
Lorelei didn't get to finish her thought as a man went flying to the wall between their cells.
Nerium saw the man had the guild mark unfamiliar to her.
"A mage from the... dark guild?"
"What the?" Jay looked at the direction the man was from. Out of the dust that gathered from the broken down wall, she saw a figure of someone she familiar.
The dust started to clear out and then and there saw the green-haired dragonslayer.
"Christa!" Nerium happily shouted her name.
"Christa! I sure am happy to see your face!" Jay grinned.
"Jay, Nerium, Ms. Lorelei! You're all okay!" Christa ran in between their cells, a bit confused on who to attend to first.
Jay pointed at Lorelei's cell, telling Christa to attend to her first. Christa nodded and broke down the cell bars with her magic. She then broke Lorelei's chains.
"Ms. Lorelei, are you okay?"
Lorelei rubberd her wrists and coughed. "I'm fine, thank you, Christa."
Lorelei was just as beat up as she was, but she could imagine she would be weaker by now considering all the time she was missing.
"Uh, Christa, our turn," Jay waved at her.
Christa stood up and was about to break the bars when a gunshot melted it instead.
The two girls twitched and was surprised when another gunshot broke and melted the chains connected to them.
"Okay, Christa, how did you do that?" Jay arched a brow as shakily stood up. After asking, she saw a figure from the direction where Christa came from.
Jay's sight went red. Nerium's eyes widened at the sight.
"What the hell is he doing here!?" Jay was about to tackle Lucian when Christa blocked her path.
"Jay, he's with us," Christa said.
"What do you mean!? He's the one that brought me and Nerium here!" Jay pointed a finger at him.
Lucian could only look away as she shouted.
"He's the one that betrayed our guild!" Jay emphasized what he previously did.
"I know what I did," Lucian quietly answered to her.
"Oh you know!?" Jay rolled her eyes. "Well, thank you, we didn't know you were informed!"
"Jay, just listen to him," Christa held her shoulder and glanced at Nerium, who was still seated on the ground with shocked eyes.
"Listen!? What do you mean, Christa!?" Jay looked at her as she pushed her hands off of her shoulder.
"I'm aware of what I did and I'm aware of what you think of me right now," Lucian gathered all his strength to look at Jay and Nerium in the eyes.
"I know... I betrayed you and I can't redeem myself with what I'm doing right now. But I didn't know what to do back then. I was blinded by my hatred over poison mages... and my longing for my two siblings... And I wasn't thinking clear... I didn't have anyone to tell me the truth..." Lucian said closing his fists in frustration and intense emotion.
Christa looked at Nerium and she seemed to have calmed down a bit. Jay on the other hand seemed to be still angry.
"I'm sorry," Lucian could only say those words after that.
Christa held Jay's shoulder once more. "Jay, please, give him a chance. He wouldn't had let me out if he wasn't sincere."
Christa turned to Nerium.
"Nerium?"
Nerium looked away and stood up with the wall supporting her action. "I believe you."
Jay looked at her as she leaned on the wall for support.
"But we'll have a long talk after this is all over," Nerium glared at Lucian.
Lucian nodded. "Thank you."
Jay took a deep breath and walked past Christa to approach Lucian. She stopped in front of him, raised her hand and gave him a hard slap on the face.
"Jay!" Christa was surprised by the action.
Lucian however, wasn't that surprised.
"I hate lies," Jay said in a low husky voice.
"But I trust, Christa," she followed. "This is all I can give to you while we're here."
"After all, we still need you alive when this over. Just like what Nerium said, we'll have a long talk once this is over."
Lucian nodded again as he looked at her.
Lorelei walked closer to them. "As of the moment, we need to leave this area and help Mystic Lightning - help your guild."
The four nodded and all of them sprinted out of the cell.

Isaac unsheathed his sword.
"Dull Edge: Fire Slash!"
With the swing of his sword, fire engulfed all of his opponents surroundings.
"Didn't quite imagine myself fighting in a war in my lifetime," he fought with his sword and continued to speak to his guildmates.
"I was always quite the pacifist," Isaac laughed.
Nathan froze a whole bunch of mages with his ice-make. "Well, I usually don't really work this much so this is a new territory for me as well."
A spear then was thrown at him by one of the enemies. Isaac noticed it but failed to get to Nathan in time.
"Nathan, watch out!" Isaac shouted.
Nathan's eyes widened as the spear was close to piercing his head. He could only close his eyes but later found out that the spear missed.
Marcus was able to use his spatial magic to transport the spear to the back of the mage who threw it, piercing his body instead.
Nathan turned to look at Marcus who silently looked back.
"Hey, man thanks," Nathan said while earning a nod from Marcus and continued to fight.
Nathan breathed out in relief as he clutched his chest.
"Are you okay?" Isaac ran to him.
Nathan nodded.
"You guys having fun yet!?" out of nowhere, Lisbeth shouted from afar.
"Do we look like we're having fun?" Nathan exclaimed.
Lisbeth smirked and stretched her arms to her sides.
"Mineral Hail Rain."
On Lisbeth's mark, black clouds started to form the area. Everyone stopped momentarily as the clouds started to block the sky.
"That's Lisbeth's magic! Everyone try hard not to get hit by the hail!" one of the Mystic Lightning mages shouted.
"Garden Grasp!" Adrian slammed his hand on the ground and vines shot out of the ground to take advantage of distracted enemies.
While Adrian's opponents were constricted by the vines, Ciara was making a couple of solidified spherical light and sent it towards the enemy.
Upon the orbs contact with them, it all exploded rendering their opponents unconscious.
Ciara smiled at Adrian. "We always do make a good team, huh?"
"Dark Torment!"
Alister summoned shadows around him and one by one attacked the ones he was fighting. Shiori was fighting her own enemies when she saw a group of the dark mages targeting Alia.
"Alia!" Shiori ran to her as fast as she could to block that one attack they were sending her way. Shiori was able to jump right in front of her and make a shield but the impact was so hard she was knocked a few steps back.
"Urgh..." Shiori arched her back and held to her right shoulder in pain.
"Shiori!" Alia ran to her side crying.
"Run, Alia, don't get caught on the fight," Shiori said while wincing in pain.
"No! Christa's already gone! I don't want to any of you guys hurt anymore!" Alia cried and hiccuped between her sobs.
"Aw, a little girl's crying!"
Shiori looked behind Alia and saw the dark mages that attacked earlier walking to them. They were laughing and preparing to aim at the two.
Alia balled her fists and stood up to face them.
"Aw, the little girl's going to fight too?" they laughed.
Alia then used her her take-over magic. All of her clothes turned into a white dress.
"Oooh, whatya gonna do now, kid? Blind us with your-!" the mages stopped talking, laughing and anything else they were doing because they couldn't do anything at all. Their bodies were stiff.
Alia raised her arms and opened her now lifeless eyes.
"No one's going to take my friends away!" she waved her arms and then sent flying away. A few of their enemies were also taken back from Alia's magic.
"Shiori!" Alia turned back to her and did another take-over that made her look like a fairy. She healed Shiori's shoulder with a touch of the hand. Alia then went back to her normal clothes.
Shiori gaped at her, a bit shocked with what she saw. She then shook her head.
"You know what?" Shiori stood and held her hand. "I think you can help our friends on the field.
Alia looked at her with a determined face. She nodded and followed Shiori's guidance in the battlefield.
Master Lucas on the other hand continued to support his guild but still heard the voice of his old friend.
"Lucas, are you going to wait for your daughter and guild to die? You could just sacrifice yourself in place of them."
Master Lucas was disgusted with Avarice's lack of remorse and morals.
He didn't know what to do.
"Master! Watch out!"
Master Lucas' eyes widened. He zoned out too long, he saw an elemental attack coming his way.
Then someone blocked it right in front of him.
"... Alyssa?" Master Lucas was surprised at his niece's appearance.
"Uncle, what the heck! Are you trying to get yourself killed?" Master Alyssa placed a hand on her hip and looked at her.
"What are you doing here?" he questioned.
"Well, duh, we're here to fight with you, am I right, Lunar Storm!?" Master Alyssa raised her arm and looked behind her.
At her back was her guild, armed and ready to fight.
"Yeah!"
"Oh!" Master Alyssa pointed to a few people. "Hawk Eye's here too."
Echora, the former dark guild celestial mage, waved. "Wouldn't miss it for the world."
Master Alyssa smirked and held her shoulder.
"Rest assured, uncle. We're going to win this one," she then charged in for battle together with her guild and Hawk Eye.

Reiss, Jeric, Diana and Drayden arrived at the front of the dark guild's base.
"They brought their base on the outskirts of Heaven's Crest?" Diana looked at the gray structure in front of them.
"That's polite," Drayden remarked.
"C'mon guys, there's no time to lose!" Jeric said as he led them inside, but was blocked by dozens of mages.
Reiss gritted his teeth. "Looks like they ain't gonna let us pass that easily.
"Then we'll just have to go through," Jeric glared at them.
"I don't care how much people I go through. I'm going to get Nerium, Jay and my mother back!" Jeric then charged at them.
Reiss nodded at Diana.
"Demon Dragon's Roar!"
"Water Dragon's Roar!"
The attack took down a good number of enemies.
Drayden then ran with a lightning whip, slashing it down to aim for their feet. They were able to go inside the base while fighting, but the more they took down, the more that kept coming their way.
"Just how many mages are there in this damn guild!?" Reiss exclaimed.
The four stood back to back. They were cornered in a circle.
"Doesn't matter, we'll just have to fight until they get tired," Jeric said. He was going to attack again but then, the man he was going to punch was electrocuted.
He pulled back and all of them looked at Drayden.
"That wasn't me," he briefly replied. The dark mages then looked up.
Another wave of lightning then came again, this time, electrocuting several dark mages.
"Wait, yellow lightning..." Jeric swallowed. "That's-!"
He looked up and saw Lorelei.
"Get away from them!" Lorelei went down and blasted all of them with her magic. All of the dark mages went down.
"Mom!" Jeric ran to her, crying.
"Jeric!" Lorelei did the same. As they got near to each other, they stretched out their arms and embraced each other.
"I'm so glad your safe," Jeric mumbled on her shoulder.
"I'm glad too," Lorelei broke the hug. "Where's your grandfather?"
"He's back at the city, leading the guild," Jeric answered.
"Is he okay?" Lorelei asked worriedly. Jeric nodded.
"Jeric! Ms. Lorelei! Look out!" Diana shouted at them as she saw a mage about to attack them from above.
Jeric was about to shield his mother when a gunshot sent the mage back instead.
Reiss, Diana, Drayden and Jeric looked at the man who shot the gun.
Their eyes glared at the boy.
"You're alive!?" Jeric gritted his teeth.
"Lucian!" Reiss was about to attack him when Lorelei went in front of Lucian's way.
"Don't! He's with us! He helped us set us free," Lorelei said in Lucian's defense.
"Mom, he's a traitor!" Jeric exclaimed.
"I know that's the only thing you know about me as of the moment, but please, give me a chance!" Lucian held his hand close to his heart.
"Chance? You want us to give you a chance, you bastard!?" Reiss angrily pointed at him.
"Please, this is not the time to argue!" Lorelei firmly said. "Finish this when this is over!"
The four Mystic mages fell quiet.
"We will be needing all the help the we can get," Lorelei said, voicing reason.
Jeric took a deep breath. "Okay, but once this is all over, we're going to talk."
Lucian nodded. "I know."
Drayden stayed quiet while the two dragonslayers shivered in anger.
Then they heard an explosion from where Lorelei came from.
Nerium and Jay were riding vines while fighting off the mages.
"Nerium! Jay! They're alright!" Diana's face lit up as she saw them.
The two mages went down together with Lorelei and Lucian.
"Hey, guys," Jay grinned at them. "Didn't expect to see you guys here, where are the others?"
"They're at Heaven's Crest, fighting," Drayden answered.
"Fighting? Who!?" Nerium asked worriedly.
"This whole dark guild apparently," Jeric said.
Lorelei knitted her eyebrows.
"We better hurry and help them then," Lorelei looked around.
"Where's Christa?"
Reiss, Diana, Drayden and Jeric's head turned the moment they heard her name.
Jay shrugged. "Still fighting a few of the mages. She's having a lot of fun it seems."
They heard another explosion from above and multiple mages flying out.
"I don't get to brag at much, but pal-"
The Mystic mages' eyes widened at the person they already thought was dead.
Christa held a mage's collar and lifted him up on the air.
"You messed with an S-class mage," Christa then tossed him.
Jeric, Diana and Drayden's eyes lit up. Reiss was still shocked. She went down and saw the four.
"Hey, you guys are he-!"
Diana wasted no time in tackling Christa to a hug. Christa winced in pain but decided not to show it.
"You're alive!" Diana said as she broke away.
Christa looked to her side and then back to Diana.
"Y-yeah, I am..." she arched a brow. "Why?"
"We thought you were dead," Jeric said, almost about to cry again.
"You thought what!?" Christa surprisingly asked.
"But that's not important anymore because you're alive!" Diana hugged her again. "Hugs!"
Jay and Nerium smiled.
Drayden glanced at Reiss and saw him softly smiling as he looked at the two dragonslayers.
"Well, I hate to ruin the moment but we need to move," Lorelei interrupted. Diana pulled back and nodded. They looked at each other and ran to the exit of the base.
"Xaxa's spikes."
Nerium and Jay heard a familiar voice chanting a spell of a magic they knew too well.
The two poison mages gathered all their strength to summon vines and protect their comrades from the blood red spiked coming from the ceiling, deflecting each spike so that they wouldn't hit any of them. Once the spikes stopped appearing. The twins from before showed up in front of them.
"Well, well, well, if it isn't those mages... How are you still alive?" Juno asked with a wicked smile.
"You're guild sucks, that's why!" Jay pointed a finger at her.
Nerium looked back at Christa and the others.
"You go on ahead. We have something to settle with these two," Nerium said.
Christa was hesitant on leaving them behind but she believed in them. "Be careful."
The twins smiled sadistically.
"This ought to be fun," Juno and Hera looked at Jay and Nerium, prepared to attack.
XoxoX
The remaining went outside.
"We need to hurry!" Lorelei shouted as they ran.
"Hurry? What's the matter?"
The Mystic mages stopped as soon as they saw the woman who started all of this.
"You!" Lorelei glared at her.
"You remind me so much of your father," Avarice crossed her arms, looking at her from head to toe.
"It disgusts me."
"Then why don't you stop looking and find someone else to gawk at?" Lorelei continued to glare at her.
Avarice sighed. "Unfortunately, I need your life in exchange of the one your father took away from me."
Lorelei closed her eyes and swallowed.
"He did the right thing to turn you over the magic council," Lorelei opened her eyes once again.
Avarice laughed and shook her head.
"You two are too similar it hurts," Avarice said and raising her hands.
"Very well, I won't make this any longer," with a gesture of the hands, dozens of armored skeletons rose from the ground.
The animals printed on her dress came to life as well. Two snakes, an eagle, a tiger and a lion.
All of the mages stayed beside each other as they saw the army surrounding them.
"You wont be able to see your loved ones any longer," Avarice's smile faded and her expression turned into pure hatred.
"A life in exchange for the one your father took away from me."
