Hey guys,
Thanks for the reviews- I'm glad to hear your thoughts. Ive been getting a lot of feedback about Liesel's Sacrifice and a lot of readers seem confused about exactly Liesel's sacrifice was. I didn't forget about it! I didn't mention it in the story because I wanted to see if anyone would catch it.
There are two interpretations to this:
Liesel Sacrifice does not exist. This is because Death had promised Liesel that he would leave no track or evidence of Rudy's death. This is what he promised in order for her sacrifice. Unfortunately, he did! He left two! See if you can catch it in the story.
Another interpretation could be the death of a promising character at the end of the story as the sacrifice.
I didnt want to end the story with a promising conclusion: A conclusion that clearly answered the question posed at the beginning of the story because that's not reality- this is not a math question nor a science experiment.
I also did not want to end the story with a sense of an end either because like it or not, at least the way I perceive it, I would love for characters to live outside the pages. Much more happens to them outside what I have and what Marcus Zusak has written.
So, there you have it- and incomplete ending to the fan fiction. I left it in a sort of incomplete manner so that people would imagine whatever they would like the ending to be. Thanks again and let me know if you have any other qs!
