Q
With Race Wars coming up, the Toretto household was busy as ever with regular costumer orders, personal orders of friends and family, and overall bills. Even though the boom in business would initially help with solving the bill dilemma, it cut things to close to profit with the ever increased expenses of the shop and grocery mart.
Letty could see the stress slowly start to show on Dom. He did his best to hide his concern from others, but there were times when she would catch him in the shop's office, or home kitchen stressing over layers of documents covered by manilla folders. Letty welcomed race wars, it would be a nice rest from the 'reality' of the world. The shop was meant to be closed that weekend, so that most of the crew would be able to attend if they wanted. Letty locked the remaining tools in their shelves for the long weekend. She was the last to be at the shop for the evening.

She drove up to the house catching sounds of music and laughing. Several people had asked Dom to sleep over before heading out in the morning to the desert. Along with Doms crew, Hector and a few of his close friends were staying over. As she parked Letty heard yelling coming from the front porch and she opened her car door to see a skinny Asian woman strut out yelling out profanities in her wake. As the screen door slammed, Letty saw Dom storm after her, his stance tense and voice barking at the girl.
Letty smiled a bit. The flavor of the month apparently wasn't the flavor anymore and Dom seemed to be paying dearly for it. Dom and her had been on a neutral standing since their talk in the car several months earlier. Both had silently chose to look somewhere then each other for anything having to do with sex or dating. Letty ignored Dom and his 'womanizing' ways, while he in turn kept silent on her dating life. It was a shaky truce that sometimes would cross boundaries with rude or snide jabs at each other. But it was really the best they could do for each other.
This girl, Vicky Tran, was trouble. Letty knew she was, Mia knew she was, hell, even the whole crew knew, but that seemed to encourage Dom even more. The big idiot always was stubborn. The warnings didn't reach him until he found out that she had an older brother… with a bad attitude.
Letty closed the car door, as Vicky rushed passed her. The girl was drama, but very entertaining. She barely glanced at Letty before going to her own car and driving off. Like her brother Johnny Tran, the girl liked racing and developed a horrible temper. Dom gave a snort, before slowing his pace and walking toward Letty.
"Having fun?" She asked amused.
Dom rolled his eyes leaning on her car. "Does it look like I'm having fun?"
Letty muffled a laugh, "Fight again?" Dom shrugged, clearly miffed to talk about it. "Send her flowers," she suggested.
"Nah," responded Dom in his deep voice. "That was a break-up fight. Can't do nothing about it."
Letty smirked. "So back to the next flavor?"
Dom gave her an annoyed glance. "Lett, shut up."
Her eyebrows instantly shot up. "Wow, this one must have did a number on you."
"Give me a break."
"You're all defensive," she added.
"Maybe I don't like getting cussed out in my own home."
"She was always classy."
Dom growled, clearly frustrated with her lack of concern. Letty probably could have been a bit more receptive to his feelings, but he had been warned about Vicky from the first week they got together. Choosing to ignore him, Letty walked to the other side of her car and grabbed her backpack before closing and locking the door. She started walking towards the house.
"Thats it?" She heard him say, voice peeved.
"What? You want me to baby you?" She said stopping mid-step.
Even though she couldn't see it, Letty knew he was frowning. "What about some advice?" He asked.
"You're kidding? You were warned."
Dom sighed and walked over. "Yea."
"Ask Vince."
He cracked a smile. "Now you're kidding."
Letty paused glancing back at the house, then at him. "I suggest you let her go."
Dom nodded. "There was no doubt about that," he answered.
"Then what the fuck?" She said turning and walking towards the front porch. Dom followed beside her. "If you knew the answer to your own damn question, then why ask?"
"Second opinion," he chuckled.
"Waste of time," she bit out.
Before they reached the door he grabbed her hand and stopped her. "What if it wasn't about Vicky?"
Letty pulled her hand away and swung her bag on her shoulder. It didn't happen often, but sometimes, they would find themselves in an awkward situation without realizing it. The talk of girls, boys and relationships would bleed into both their current states; usually single.
"You lost me," she said trying to act oblivious to what he was implying. Dom would never say it out loud, but she knew and he knew, there was still a full cord of attraction between them. They never reacted because of the past events and both probably fearing a repeat of history.
"Or you don't want to deal," he said quietly.
"Do you?" She snapped back.
She was met with silence and continued her venture into the house.

Rooms were chosen at random. The only room that remained untouched was Letty's, which was occupied by Mia and herself. She was use to Mia's company, which was why Letty was confused by waking up so early in the dead of night. There was no reason, Mia was snoozing calmly to her left, the house was quiet and a warm comforting breeze was steadily coming through an open window. But there she was jolted awake by nothing, and too wide awake to go back to sleep.
Letty chose to leave her room and walk downstairs for a glass of water. Passing the hallway, all rooms were occupied and full. Letty smirked at the sound of Leon's loud snores, the guy always snored when he drunk too much. She padded downstairs quietly and went into the kitchen to get a water bottle out of the fridge. The only light around was from the stove. Letty greedily gulped down half the bottles contents, before exhaling in a satisfying sigh.
Instead of going back to her room, Letty chose to dwell in the living room and throw herself on the couch, that is, until the couch let out a drowsy curse before shifting under her weight.
"What the fuck?! Dom?" She whispered.
The hard body under her was too familiar to not recognize. Dom shifted again and let out a raspy chuckle before settling down in a more comfortable position. Not caring if Letty was sitting on his legs.
"Thanks for the wake-up call." He croaked, voice laced with sleep.
"Why are you sleeping on the couch?"
Through the dim light she could see him rub his eyes. "Trying to be a good host."
Letty rolled her eyes. "Or someone found your bed to crash on."
Dom gave a sleepy grin. "Bingo," he replied. "Vince got there first and Jesse is passed out on the floor."
Letty bit back a chuckle, she sipped her water again shaking her head. What a bunch of knuckle-heads.
"Is that water cold?" Asked Dom, eyes more bright and alert.
Silently Letty handed him the water bottle. Dom took it and guzzled down the rest of it's contents. He let out a satisfying exhale. "Thats good," he murmured.
They sat there in silence for a few minutes, before Dom sat up more and decided to stretch his upper torso. Though the light was dim, Letty eyed his tight muscles as they pulled and contracted, then settled to a relaxed position. Dom usually wore a beater to bed or went shirtless, this night was warm, so he was all skin. Letty diverted her eyes away from his half naked form and breathed in slowly. Maybe it wasn't a good idea to have come down here…
"You okay?"
She nodded mutely, trying to relax her breathing. It had been a while, since she had been in a man's arms. She had become too busy for the dating life and couldn't help a stab of jealously when seeing Dom with all his many dames. Letty couldn't figure out how he had the time.
"Why you up so late?"
Letty cocked her head slightly to the side. "That, I do not know," she replied. "Just woke up and couldn't go back to sleep."
Dom nodded. "Water didn't help?"
She shook her head and laid back. "I guess I'll grab an american muscle magazine and read myself to sleep-"
"Or you can stay down here and we can talk." he interjected.
Letty tried not to hide a smile. "Maybe you're too boring."
Dom laughed, but knew her answer when Letty didn't move from her spot. They sat in silence again. From the coffee table Dom's phone started to vibrate. Letty reached to hand it to Dom, but he stopped her midway.
"Leave it."
Letty studied his sudden dark expression. "Someone you don't like?"
"Vicky's been buzzing me every since she left."
Letty pulled back sharply and gazed at the phone. "To yell some more?"
He chuckled. "No, to make-up."
Letty tried to hide her interest. "I'm guessing its a no?"
"I told you that was a 'breaking-up' fight," he said. "No way I'm going near her again."
Letty smirked. "Good for you Toretto."
He snorted. "Don't patronize me. I know that tone."
Letty shrugged, leaning back. "I call it like I see it."
She heard a chuckle from him and his weight shifted so he was sitting next to her. "It's nice talking to you, yah know."
"Already in the rebound mode I see…" said Letty with a sly grin.
Dom huffed. "Dammit it all Lett, can I just say something nice once in a while?"
She laughed. "Im joking, I'm joking."
She could see he was still a little peeved by his pouty expression. It made her grin even more as she reached to rub the back of his head. He automatically closed his eyes at the contact, clearly enjoying the sensation and Letty couldn't deny not liking the texture of his buzzed hair.
"You should be nicer," she heard him murmur.
She gave a clipped laugh. "YOU should be nicer."
Dom opened his eyes and turned toward her. "I can't recall you saying anything nice to me within the last month."
Letty's dropped her hand down to massage the base of his skull, from his chest she heard a low rumbling.
"I like you the best when you're sleepy."
"What the hell?"
Letty suppressed the urge to giggle. "What? That was nice."
"Hardly," he said with a softened glare.
"I think you're being picky," she said.
"I think you're being a pain in the ass."
"Fine, fine…" She said, before going silent. She looked at Dom enjoying the massage. "I like it when you use to call me baby-girl."
She turned away from him, but she could tell she had Dom's full attention. "You seemed to be in a good mood most times you called me that." She continued honestly.
Dom smiled. "I thought you hated that."
She shrugged. "It grew on me."
"Term of endearment?"
"I guess." Suddenly she didn't want to talk about this anymore.
"Like baby?"
Letty took quick a glance at him, he was defiantly awake now. "No, that meaning isn't as…innocent."
"I know what it means."
"Then you know why its not being said."
They were silent again. "So this mean I can call you baby-girl, again?" He asked.
Letty rolled her eyes but gave him a small smile. In front of them, his phone buzzed to life again on the table.
"Wow, persistent," commented Letty as Dom took the phone. He looked on the screen, but didn't answer it. "You know she's going to be at race wars, right?" She added.
Dom sighed before tossing the phone somewhere along the couch. "Come here."
Letty froze and shook her head. "No rebound Toretto."
"What makes you think that's what this is about?"
"Because I know you and your…libido and it usually has a one track mind," she answered. "And something tells me you haven't gotten any for a bit."
Dom sighed, clearly getting frustrated. "You're not a rebound."
Letty didn't move, so Dom moved closer to her side and placed an arm around her shoulders.
"What makes you think that they aren't the rebound?" He asked. He leaned close and kissed her on the neck. The contact made her skin tingle and eyes flutter close. But it didn't last, he moved away, mumbled something about water and headed to the kitchen.
As he walked along, Letty's gaze traveled to his bare muscled back and the navy-blue sweats that hung loose on his slim hips. She could blame it on not getting laid, but she knew it wasn't a real explanation. Letty followed him into the kitchen and leaned in the doorway. Dom was sifting through the fridge and brought out another water bottle.
"We should probably sleep," he said without looking at her. "We're suppose to be waking up in a few hours."
Letty nodded still looking at him. Dom took a sip and froze as he faced her. "Hey…um, you okay Lett?"
Letty blinked in surprise. She hadn't realized she was staring.
"You looked like…" Dom started, but then sighed. "Never mind."
Letty bit her lip, she had been thinking about Dom, mostly his body and what she could do to it. She could only imagine what her face looked like to him, Letty flushed.
Dom started to walk past her, his face unreadable. "See yah in a few hours."
Yep, yep. We're getting close to relationship time.
